mine for one is actually a yuri on ice fic that i read in i think 2018 - i was struggling a lot with my mental health then and i was stressing over way too much and there was one phrase in that fic that always stuck with me

“destroy your past self, and only use the beautiful pieces. we do not let old lives dance with us. redemption does not exist. there is only rebirth”

i don’t think i’ll ever forget the feeling of reading that for the first time, and i still try to live like this to this day. it’s changed the way i think about myself and it’s gotten me to where i am today. while it may not have changed the course of my life, i think it’s made me become a person that i can and like to live with
