Wooden Glen Field Lab, a Resistance Field Lab, just northeast of the Aranahe Hometree. Your new home.
It had been overrun by the flora and fauna of Pandora, left abandoned when the Resistance had to close back up due to heavy RDA activity. Several of these sites were vacated, but times have changed, and the Resistance needed these labs back up and running now more than ever. You've never been stationed at one until now, and from where you stood, it was quaint. Back on Earth, you wouldn't have been able to afford anything at even half of this shack's size, so you took it as a blessing. Thank you, Eywa.
Speaking of, you noticed something indicating a different kind of wildlife has been through here. A campfire just outside the lab on the forest floor and Na'vi-designed woven baskets and material stationed around it. Signs of the natives using this place as shelter. One of the remaining Sarentu acted as your guide and protection for the journey here, and explained that it was normal for any friendly Na'vi to rest at the scattered field labs throughout their journies and you would likely see more of them. They didn't say much else after that, however, wishing you luck and leaving once they were sure there wasn't any nearby danger around.
Taking a deep breath through your mask, you walk up to the human-fashioned shack surrounded by wildlife and vegetation. It hadn't been used in some time, so you take out your SID device and use it to power up the small complex, watching as the lights and terminal flash then power back on as if good as new. Someone had tried to turn this place into a more welcome environment, placing various small potted plants all around the space and in makeshift shelves made of tree branches. It looked a bit hippy, and you wouldn't be surprised if the former RDA-turned-rebel who lived here used to be a botanist.
Looking up, you took note of the netted hammock that was storing extra supplies and luggage up above to keep out of the way. Looking down, you're careful to watch your step as occasional rubbish and cables scatter across the floor, left abandoned by its former resident. One side of the small lab was clearly meant to be for business, hosting a work bench, the terminal, and additional medical supplies and weaponry.
On the other side, it looked more like a living space, sporting a portable counter fridge, bookshelves, and of course all of the freaking house plants. One corner looked like a reading nook, with a bean bag made of several different colored-fabric, surrounded by papers and empty paper coffee cups, the lights above giving off a warm atmosphere. Setting down your things, you decide on tidying up your new home before settling in for the night.
You must have been cleaning the space for hours by the time you heard a faint rustle outside. Looking up, you spare a glance at the rifle on the wall before bravely deciding to check out the noise without it. It's your first night here... surely there wouldn't be any danger right away, would there? As you step out of your new base, you glance around until you notice the unlit campfire. Standing there stood a male Na'vi, but not just a random stranger.
You recognized So'lek as one of the most significant Na'vi faces who tend to prowl around Resistance HQ. Everyone knows who he is, everyone knows his story, and everyone -including humans- knows to give him a wide berth. His sharp eyes had been looking directly at you, since he noticed you before you saw him, and his gaze narrowed with suspicion just as you gasp in shock.
"Oh! Hello."
His hard stare is the only thing keeping your feet frozen to the floor of your lab before he knowingly states, "You are from the headquarters."
You nod, faintly shocked that he remembered your face, especially since neither of you have shared a word until now, "Alma and Priya asked me to man this lab so it stays functional for botany research and RDA activity."
"I see."
You relax some, only for a thought to dawn in your head as you point to the Na'vi made structure right outside your new home, "Wait, is this your campfire? Have you been living here?"
"When I occasionally travel through this area, yes."
Nodding, you open your arm out wide to gesture to the whole yard outside the lab, "You were here first, so help yourself to whatever is yours. I'll stay out of the way."
"No need," he shakes his head then, the first movement he ever made upon recognizing you, "You will be staying here for a lot longer than I. And besides, I prefer to rest outside."
"Alright, will you be resting here for the night? I think it's supposed to rain so I plan on shutting down the place and locking myself in."
"I am moving on for the night. Just needed some things I left behind. I will be coming back this direction on my way to HQ in three days."
"Sounds good. Safe travels."
He nods and turns to go, before pausing two seconds and then tilting his head back toward you, "Stay alert while you're out here, 'eylanay. Do not ever let your guard down."
~~~~~~~~~
His words were haunting and bothersome, but you suppose he doesn't have a choice than to be that way after everything he's been through. Plus, he's from this world and knows its dangers better than you do. The thought that something could be lurking just outside or staring at you through the window sent chills down your spine.
As you stated, you locked down the two large doorways that open up the shack and secure all the windows, waiting until the oxygen levels are steady before removing your mask. You had closed everything up just in time, the storm hitting just moments after. Out of everything beautiful here, you didn't envy Pandora's storms, so fierce and terrifying... and you were alone.
A beep pings from your terminal and you try to pretend you didn't dash over to answer it, "Hey, Priya."
"Hey! Did you settle in okay? Is it scary? Is it dangerous? Oh, what am I saying? Of course, it's dangerous! And scary and dangerous are almost one in the same--"
"Priya, I'm fine," you smile to yourself, unsure if you missed her ramblings or not, "Everything's fine. It's actually quite peaceful here."
"Oh, good!"
"And it's comforting to know that So'lek treks through here often enough to where I won't feel completely alone and he could check in if I need any help."
"You saw So'lek?"
"Yeah, he just happened to be passing through."
"That's perfect! Oh, that makes me feel so much better! I'll make sure to send another radio with him next time so that you two could chat between each other or if you need him to check on you. Oh, this is gonna be great! You guys can chat to each other whenever you need some company!"
"Uh, Priya...?"
"I mean, just think about it! You're going to be living alone in the middle of the forest and he's constantly traveling alone. It's perfect! So cool!"
"Okay..." You try not to sound a little put-off by her suggestion but decided to kindly cut her off, "Hey, I think I'm gonna clock out for the night. I'm tired from the cleaning."
"Cleaning? Why did you need to clean?"
~~~~~~~~~
Three days later, So'lek comes back through, as promised. He immediately finds you outside, in your mask, wearing worn-out clothes while you work around and monitor the plants that the resident before you had planted. The plan was for you to continue their work, and while you weren't a botanist, you figured that the notes the previous tenant left behind could help you continue their research.
Looking up from taking notes, you noticed So'lek standing a half a dozen yards away from you. To attempt at being friendly, you wave him over and feel both surprise and pride when he walks closer to join you.
"I half expected to find you dead already."
"Only half?" You snort in amusement, "It's nice to hear that you had some faith in me, if only a little bit."
He kept his face blank, not reacting to your tease, "I still would never drop my guard if I were you, 'eylanay."
"Yes, yes, I know," you take note of the direction he came in and come up with your own observation, "Are you heading back to HQ?"
He nods and you flash a small smile of sympathy, "A word of warning? Priya is going to be handing you a radio to bring back to me when you get there. She wants to make sure you and I keep in contact should I ever need help."
You don't miss the small grimace on his face when you mention Priya. You can't entirely blame him, knowing that Priya is a lot to handle for someone who prefers to be left alone, and everyone knows how desperate Priya is to make Na'vi friends, So'lek most of all.
He nods once more, schooling his face back to something more neutral, "Very well. Is there anything else you need from Headquarters?"
"Uh... when do you think you'll be coming back through?"
"Less than a week."
"Maybe some rations then, just to be safe."
~~~~~~~~~
That is basically the gist of your conversations with So'lek for the next upcoming month. Every time he comes through, whether heading to or from Resistance HQ, he makes time for small talk, talk that only lasts less than ten minutes, then he's gone before you have time to say goodbye. It doesn't bother you a whole lot, but that could be from the feeling of loneliness. You'll take a few moments of conversation with practically anyone and anything if it will keep you sane from your solitude, even So'lek, who was hardly one for words to begin with. Part of you wondered if you'll end up like him if you continued working alone in this lab without anyone else to talk to you.
He never stays the night at his campfire, or maybe he does and he happens to leave before you even wake up. Either way, you never see him sitting outside or sleeping by the fire as you imagined he once did before you came along and took his space. He brings back any supplies you ask of him whenever he's on his way back from headquarters, and sometimes he brings items that Priya practically had to beg him to take to you. They weren't necessities, but you appreciated the comics and recordings of guitar solos one of the Resistance members likely cooked up. You didn't believe Priya would be capable, but you had to wonder whoever was sneaking you dirty romance novels among those supplies, and how your suspicions only heightened when you realize the novels were about a human female and her alien male lover. Despite how horrified you felt when discovering that little surprise hidden among your rations, it was... comforting, to say the least. It helped keep you sane and one with your humanity. You were also thankful that So'lek didn't appear to notice what he was tasked to give you.
One month turns into two, and there was a patch of weeks where you hadn't seen So'lek at all. A part of you told yourself not to worry, knowing he had a mission that took him in the opposite direction of your field lab, or at least that's what Priya told you. The other part of you, however, couldn't help looking out your window before bed every night, wondering if he'd be there the one time you looked. Suddenly you found yourself immerced in those dirty romance novels just to keep yourself from worrying too much, and you were beginning to question your mind when you realized you had begun to picture the male alien lover to look like So'lek in your head as you read.
That one fateful day you decide to leave the large doors completely open to let the fresh air through the lab was the one day you shouldn't have even gotten out of bed. You heard the deep growl first, then your hairs on the back of your neck stood on edge. You were inside the complex and quickly look around for your rifle, but the moment you made too quick of movement was when the thanator leaped into action. It roared loudly, deafening your small ears, as it leapt up onto the walkway leading into the lab before prowling right inside as if it owned the place, it's eyes never leaving you for a second, practically freezing you where you stand. You internally curse whoever designed those doors to be big enough for a thanator and you hope they're rotting in Hell. As the beast corners you into the smallest space of the lab, a part of you hopes you'll meet that inventor in Hell so you can kill them again yourself.
The thanator's nose scrunches as its snarling muzzle curled up, its limbs lowering closer to the ground, ready to strike. When it bows its back to pounce, you faintly catch sight of a collar or some form of restraint around the creature's neck, clearly of RDA make judging by the worn and chipped yellow paint coated over the metal. You wonder if it would be the last thing you ever see, a creation made from the ones you swore to fight against.
An entire barrage of gunfire shrieks through the air, bullets raining into the thanator's side at the same time it cries out in pain. So'lek inched forward until he leaps up into the lab, stepping into the open doorway and continuing his assault until he empties the entire clip into the beast's hind. As he's going to reload, the thanator decides to retreat, mewling and whining in pain as it tries to limp out of the opposite door it came through. So'lek had other ideas, however, loading his rifle once more and emptying out another whole clip into the beast, even after its body fell dead outside.
So'lek finally stopped, the silence ringing in your ears after being forced to be in the same small space as an assault rifle. He hops back out of the lab and trudges over to the dead body outside, knife in hand just to be safe. You take your time, gasping for breath as your mask hissed and testing your shaking legs out as you slowly but surely step right outside the door to see for yourself.
"I... I thought thanators were territorial?" You find your voice, swallowing down saliva when your chords cracked from fear, "Last I checked, this place wasn't in any known territory."
"These are the Severed kind our Sarentu informers have been running into," So'lek explained almost robotically while nudging the dead creature with his foot, "Animals whose kuru have been cut. Experiments, courtesy of the Sky People."
"There... Usually, there are two of them, right?"
"Nor mentioned he managed to kill one, but not its partner. This must have been the one that got away." He paused as if remembering something, before his eyes finally peer up to meet yours, "Are you alright?"
Your exhale isn't very strong, and your voice quivered, but you nod, "I... I think so. Just... shakened..."
His eyes squint, but he didn't look as though he was judging or analyzing you. He looked... for lack of a better word, concerned, "Perhaps I should take you back to base camp."
You shake your head while trying to muster a weak, joking smile, "I think I need to sleep for two days straight before I do that. That took a lot out of me."
He doesn't comment and instead offers to help clean up the mess of bullets and anything the thanator might have knocked out of place while causing a rampage through the base. You don't refuse or even agree, you just nod and move back inside to get started.
The two of you clean up in silence, all the while So'lek keeps a close eye on you, and you pretend not to notice. It's hard not to, however, since his gaze can drive your skin to rise and heat up unlike anyone you've ever met before.
He noticed how your hands were still shaking as you pick up a couple of fallen books, "'Eylan..."
"I'm alright," you wave off, too strung up to even acknowledge the achievement of gaining a new friendship status with the hard-won Na'vi man, "Just... too tense. How did you know I needed help?"
"I was already on my way here. I picked up the animal's scent and started to run and hope I wasn't too late."
You didn't dare assume that tone in his voice was trembling. You knew that assuming anything out of someone who kept his cards close to his chest would be wrong. Your eyes briefly look up at the Na'vi man, a faint smile on your lips, "You weren't. You were right on time. Thank you..."
Unbeknowst to you, So'lek's chest squeezed almost painfully at the sight of your grateful smile. Even through all that adrenaline and fear, you were still standing and unharmed, which relieved him so much to the point that it frightened him. He didn't think he would feel such fear when he had first caught the scent of the feral palulukan mixed in with the one he had come to associate with you. And yet, his legs moved before his mind was made up, running faster than he ever thought possible out of desperation.
To hear your reassurance that he had managed to save you on time strikingly comforted him, and yet, he didn't feel as though you were completely safe despite the danger being gone. He moved his eyes to watch the world outside your window to avoid your gaze as he spoke,
"I do not feel comfortable moving on and leaving you here alone tonight. If it will help, I will keep watch as you rest."
With his eyes off yours, he failed to notice your face heat up or the bug-eyed expression you sent his way. Of course, you knew you wouldn't sleep very well tonight and would like nothing more than to have some company after nearly dying. However, you also tried to play it cool and nonchalant. After all, this man did warn you to always keep your guard up, and you would hate to disappoint him, despite the odd friendship you now shared.
You simply shrug as a way to try and hide your embarrassment, "I know it'd be useless to try and convince you otherwise, so do what you want."
You activate the doors to slide completely shut, locking the two of you inside as you listen for the familiar hiss of oxygen being filtered in and out. Only when the terminal deems it safe do you remove your mask and walk over the mask station. You hang up yours and retrieve a smaller one for So'lek, handing the device to him. So'lek expertly breathes into the mask once and then lets the device dangle around his neck before he moves to the window. You watch him retreat before moving over to snuggle into the bean bag resting in the corner, trying to ignore the tall Na'vi now standing by your window as you close your eyes.
While he kept watch, he also occasionally watched you as well. You looked even smaller than usual, lying curled up in the bean bag as if trying to disappear from the world. After everything you've been through today, it's understandable you'd still be antsy, but So'lek had to commend you for how brave and put-together you appeared to be in the face of danger. He doesn't know many sky demons who are capable of that, which is why he had found himself conversing with you more than he should have over the course of these months.
Since the day you first arrived at Wooden Glen, an ugly part in his head immediately told him to stay back, keep away from you, and try not to get used to your scent. Despite hating most humans -with the Resistance balancing on that tight rope-, he surprised even himself when he didn't feel those emotions toward you. You, who immediately gave him space and didn't question him. You, who respected his boundaries and opted to live peacefully in the same space when you learned he would occasionally rest at the lab. You weren't defensive or suspicious, and you didn't expect anything from him. Sure, most of the Resistance fighters were like that -hence why they no longer worked for the RDA- but none of them were you.
So'lek may be hard to talk to and therefore found it hard to form bonds, but he's not blind. He knows beauty when he sees it, and despite hating almost everything the Sky People create, he didn't hate whatever method of creation made you. You were not Na'vi by any means, yet he couldn't help the way his eyes scan your body, so much smaller in comparison to his, and wonder what it would be like to press you into him. And your scent-- oh, your scent. Somehow, it lingered in his nostrils even from miles away in a vastly different part of Pandora. There wasn't much to your scent. It wasn't perfume or deodorant. Nothing distinct, and yet he knows it's you the moment he catches a whiff of it. It's not a bad scent. It's just you. He internally knows that there's nothing bad about it, least of all you.
So you could imagine the horror he felt when he had drawn close to the lab that day, only to smell a thanator in your general direction.
Unaware of his staring, you felt unnerved and restless now that you were finally trying to sleep. You weren't sure if you had laid there for hours or mere minutes, but you began to toss and turn, your heart beating loudly in your chest and unable to slow down.
So'lek noticed your transgressions immediately and voiced his thoughts, "You should get some sleep, my friend."
"I can't," you murmur quietly, "I'm too jumpy and too tense... Too cold."
He wasn't sure what came over him, but the sight of you restless and your claims of being cold pulled him from the window. He strides across the room and crouches in front of your form, ignoring the shock and hidden worry behind your eyes. You had grown still, a little cautious as to what would happen or what he would do if you moved. You get your answer as his large hand slowly rises up and rests over your forehead. You didn't dare move, feeling the heat of his palm against your face, and-- by god, his hand was so large, it could easily fit your whole skull without a problem.
He stomps down whatever he is feeling in his gut when his hand presses against your skin, a little shocked at how smooth you feel beneath his touch. He hadn't experienced many humans before, especially not up close and personal. The softness of your skin was... new and an interesting sensation. So'lek couldn't help but wonder what the rest of you might feel like beneath his touch.
He huffs with a faint smirk on his lips, "You are definitely cold."
Despite seeing anything other than a scowl on his face for the first time, you couldn't help the slight sting of your sarcasm emerge, scoffing and lightly swatting his hand away, "Thanks, Captain Obvious."
His eyes squint in confusion, "I do not understand."
"Never mind," you wave it off easily enough, starting to sit up before you notice So'lek inching closer, beginning to crowd your space. Your jaw nearly slacked before you picked it back up and found your words again, "Uh... what are you doing?"
He wasn't entirely sure himself. His usual instinct to stay away was nonexistent. A different instinct took over, and he wasn't sure if it terrified or intrigued him, but the scent you were giving off definitely wasn't helping him form a clear thought.
"Warming you up."
He said it like it was the simplest thing in the world as if your heart didn't just threaten to leap straight out of your mouth as his large body suddenly started to surround you in every sense of the word. It could've been from being so touch-starved and lonely, or it could've been your attraction toward him. Either way, your body immediately felt hot, and he wasn't even completely touching you yet. If you had half a sensible mind, you would immediately look away from the intensity of his sharp, yellow gaze, hiding the blush beginning to creep up over your face, but you didn't. You found yourself entranced by him, unable to look away.
He's pressing into your space now, completely pinning you into the bean bag, and yet you didn't feel scared or suspicious of ill intent. You felt yourself trusting his slow methods... as if he was testing to see what you would do. The long length of his strongly corded body overpowers your smaller form, encompassing you with his... well, everything. He took up your vision, your touch, and your hearing, and suddenly, you felt your mouth go dry with the need to taste as well. His eyes flick down, away from your eyes, and your mouth unconsciously opens in a silent gasp. You watch his eyes stare intently at your lips, his strong jaw visibly tightening underneath his skin. His face leans closer to yours until you feel his hot breath fan over your face, forcing your eyes to blink. He briefly looks up to watch your pretty eyelashes flutter before finally opening his mouth.
"Yes or no, sevin 'eve?"
You don't know what that means, but your body shivers in response regardless. You're scared to reach out and touch first in case this is all just a dream after falling asleep while reading those romance novels. You don't miss the way his brow ridge furrows as if in pain as he watched you wet your bottom lip and find the words to speak,
"Yes."
He's molding your lips together before the word even fully leaves your mouth, forcing you to inhale through your nose and feeling dizzy by the scent of his musk. His lips were bigger than yours, making the kiss sloppy until the two of you found a rhythm that suited you both. The air was stolen from your lungs as he seemed hellbent on constantly chasing your lips whenever you needed to pull away to breathe.
You weren't sure how long you kissed, losing track of time, immersed in the sensation before you were all too aware of the wet patch forming between your legs with the way he carefully laid his weight down on your pelvis. You find yourself moaning into his mouth, and his reaction is instantaneous.
His hands are finally on you, starting at your waist and moving up, pushing the fabric of your shirt up as he goes to expose your skin to him. Your heart leaps at the feel of his large hands, practically covering your entire waist, able to expand his fingers over the soft valley of your stomach.
His amazement is replaced by a scowl when his hands push your shirt up enough to expose your bra, "Why must your people feel the need to cover yourselves in so many layers? This is criminal."
You're not offended, finding yourself breathlessly laughing at his expense. You move your hands to grab the hem of your shirt and pull it over your head, "If you think that's bad, you should try unhooking this thing."
He frowns but doesn't protest, taking his mask and breathing in its contents, waiting for your instruction as he stares down at your bra as if it offended him by simply existing. Dare I say it almost looked as though he was pouting if such an expression existed within So'lek. You bite your lip to refrain from laughing more and gently grasp his hands. He clearly had the strength to pull away, his hands so much larger than yours, but he lets you guide him to the expanse of your back where he's met with the strap of your bra. Small hooks kept the offending piece of fabric together, and while he tried to fiddle with it, it only made his frustration grow.
You're not surprised when he finally gives up and just rips the bra apart like it was nothing, but you still groan in slight annoyance, "I only have a few of those, you know."
"You will not be needing any of them from here on out," he states gruffly, with confidence, as he moves down to plant large, smooth kisses down the front of your neck and toward the space between your now exposed breasts, your heartbeat strong against his lips.
So'lek was determined to be rid of all of your bras in the near future. He'll burn them if he has to. This world is not a place for the Sky People's opinions on indecent exposure, nor is their culture and fashion welcome in So'lek's eyes. As if he needed another reason to hate the Sky People, their insistence on covering someone as beautiful as you up was the cherry on top.
His hands and mouth move onto your breasts, squeezing and kissing, licking over both of your nipples. You were more pliable and squishy compared to Na'vi women, but So'lek loved it because it just meant there was more of you to hold. He liked the feel of your tits, warm and heavy in his palms. Why need a bra when his hands are literally right here?
You lean back, sighing up at the ceiling and gasping when he slips one of your nipples into his mouth, unknowingly arching your back to push your chest further into his hands, much to his inner delight. His tongue is wet and rough, running circles around the bud until it forms into a peak then he moves on to the other one, keeping his hand occupied on whichever tit that wasn't currently in his mouth. Your skin rises wherever he touches, and your hips involuntarily try to move, your need for anything to press between your legs only growing when So'lek gently bites his teeth around the tit he was playing with. You nearly rock your hips up at the feel of his fangs sinking slowly into your skin, not puncturing or causing you to bleed, but causing a bruise to form when he finally pulled away, your breasts now slicked with his saliva and one marked with his teeth.
His breath was unsteady now, his eyes blown out of proportion, hiding the yellow color behind those black voids of a pupil. His eyes rake over your form, smugly enjoying how flushed you look with wet, kiss-bitten lips, tangled hair, and scrunched eyebrows, Sitting back on his hunches and taking it all in, So'lek's eyes finally land on your lower half, your thigh muscles clenching at the way his expression turns to hunger.
He hooks his fingers into the hem of your bottoms and helps peel them off your legs, again, showing his disapproval when his need to see all of you is obstructed by your panties.
His hands reach down to grab a hold of the panties, but you find enough willpower to remember to pull away as you fix him a stern look, "I am not letting you rip these."
He scoffed half-heartedly, "They are already ruined," he emphasizes this by gently beginning to rub a finger over your clothed clit, the bold movement surprising you enough to forget your words and gasp out in pleasure. The movement of his fingers sent your head spiraling, unaware you were so worked up to the point that a simple touch had you needy for more. He leans over you, keeping his finger's speed steady as his voice whispers into your ear, "Do you not feel how soaked and uncomfortable they feel?"
You groan in response, silently agreeing that the wet fabric rubbing against your most sensitive area wasn't as pleasant as say his fingers. Part of you wanted him to rip the panties off you so he could quickly return to drawing circles and figure eights over your clit, but the more logical part in your head reminded you that underwear was more crucial than a bra for everyday life. You wiggle your hips and with So'lek's help, you manage to get the panties off at least one of your legs and let it dangle around your other ankle before kicking it off all the way.
So'lek's breath stuttered as he stared down at the tight, shiny wet cunt between your legs, so small that his thumb nearly envelops half of it as he continues to play with your now bare clit. The slick makes it easier to rub and your moans slip out of your mouth without a fear of anyone else hearing. The thought of being able to let you make as many lewd noises as possible without anyone around sent a thrill up his spine.
He found himself moving until he was lying on his stomach, his head inching forward between your legs. Once you realized his intentions, your body began to writhe with anticipation, a little nervous but wanting this all the same. His hot breath fanned down the inside of your leg and gusting over your pussy, making your inner walls unconsciously clench around nothing.
When you felt the wet warmth of his tongue run up the seam of your pussy, you're startled into moaning up at the ceiling, "Fuck, So'lek--"
"Mm..." he mumbled, the vibrations sent straight into your heat and making your skin tingle. He's unashamed of how loud he was being, drinking you up like he's a man trapped in the desert, his moans and tongue causing the most erotic sensation that you have never felt before. His tongue dips into your greedy hole as a gasp is stolen from your lungs.
He hummed as if he just tasted the sweetest fruit, "Kalin."
"Oh, God..." You respond, moving your hips to press further into his mouth. He doesn't seem to mind and eagerly takes as much of you as he can, pressing his nose into your clit as he licks up what he could only describe as your sweet nectar.
He takes it a step further once he knows you're wet and ready and inserts a finger into your entrance, slowly pushing it despite there wasn't much resistance yet. He carefully watched the way you bucked and arched your back as if your body was trying to decide to pull away or push for more. Your eyes were closed, wanting to just feel every sensation, the bottom of your stomach already warm and fluttery. Once So'lek added a second of his large fingers, he felt a tiny stretch against the initial ring of muscle, but it gave way barely a second later and welcomed him into your tight warmth. He slowly pulls his fingers in and out, trying to commit the sound of you and your responsive body to memory, all the while licking up your slick and pressing his nose into your clit.
It felt as though he was in several places at once, and the growing ache was igniting a pleasant, burning fire within you. Every lick and every thrust of his fingers were barreling you closer to some unforeseen peak, threatening to push you over the edge. You rock your hips against his face, thighs beginning to tremble around his head. He moaned deep into your pussy as he felt the muscle of your inner thighs flex and pressed down tightly around him. It was glorious and exhilarating, driving So'lek to pump his fingers in and out of you, faster and faster.
"Ah~!" You jolt, hands quickly reaching down and tangling into his hair, helping you thrust your hips more closely into his face. The sounds coming from your mouth and pussy was so obscene, normally, you'd feel embarrassed, but right now you weren't even paying attention. You were more focused on grinding into So'lek's face, chasing after your own release, feeling it rise and rise as the coil begins to dangerously tighten.
"So'lek--" Your plea is abruptly cut off by a moan escaping your lips, your body trembling in response to him curling his fingers just right inside of you. It drove you into a frenzy, now grinding your hips faster as you cried out, "So'lek! Do that again-- fuck... I'm so close..."
He moans, going even faster while repeating the movements you begged him to mimic, his tongue eager to lap you up and taste everything you could give him. Your fingers tighten in his hair and the sensation nearly makes his eyes rolls back, more eager than ever to feel and see you finish.
You're unable to warn him as your climax barely had time to build up before it snapped and let go, your screams of pleasure filling up the lab as your pussy pulses and sends waves of hot ecstasy up and down your body. The whole time your orgasm clings to you, so does So'lek, his tongue and fingers still working in and out of you, riding out your high. He groans when you spill into his mouth, your thighs uncontrollably shaking all around him and your pretty little noises add to his already aching cock.
By the time you're beginning to relax and turn to jelly in his hands, he finally pulls his mouth away, gasping deeply for air only to choke and remember than he needed the breathing mask around his neck to do so. Licking his lips, he brings the mask up to his face and takes long, deep breaths, in and out, closing his eyes and moaning when his smells you on his own breath. Opening his eyes, he finds you with your eyes still closed and a small, satisfied smile on your face. It feels as though he has no choice when he leans down to kiss you, wishing to feel that sweet, irresistible smile with his own lips. You hum lightly, kissing back with your hands gently soothing his scalp where you had initially pulled his hair, a soft moan escaping his lips when the soreness is slowly massaged away. You can feel his moan on your lips, the taste of his tongue intoxicating once you realize he tasted like you. You shift underneath him, needing more as your hands move to start disrobing his chest pieces and loincloth.
"Mawey..." he moaned softly, even as his hips moved to give you better access to his tewng.
Despite not understanding him completely, you could tell by his tone that he wanted you to slow down. You had to crane your neck to peer up at him, and suddenly his reluctance immediately caves, his heart clenching with the way you stare up at him with half-lidded eyes, long eyelashes, and wet lips. He manages to unclip his vest before diving back in to kiss you, savor you, his large hands on either side of your face, fingers raking into your hair.
You sigh in content, closing your eyes while you return the passionate effort, trying not to get distracted as your hands begin to untie his loincloth. You feel him before you can see him, both of you pulling out of the kiss to gasp as your hand grabs a hold of his cock. The fact that your hand couldn't fully wrap around the width told you all you needed to know, and once you caught a glimpse of him, your mouth began to water.
Your fingertips and thumb were nearly an inch apart, unable to touch. Maybe it was your imagination, but the only thing you could compare to describe the size of So'lek's cock was your own forearm, much to your distress and excitement. There was no way he was going to fit, but by Eywa, you needed to try.
Using your free hand, you gently grab the back of So'lek's neck and pull him in for another kiss, just to be sure he didn't make any other protests. For added measure, you slowly move your other hand up and down his length, causing full body shivers to erupt across his back. You catch a bead of precum at the tip and slather it over his cock, making your movements easier on his sensitive, uncut skin.
It was easier to coherce him than you originally thought it would, moving the both of you until you were flat on your back, bean bag forgotten, with So'lek hovering above you, his hips flush between your legs. His cock stood tall between your bodies as your hand continued to move up and down the impressive length. His eyes squeeze shut, a small snarl on his lips as a growl runs through him. Both of his hands are planted on either side of your head, holding him up as he tries to regain control of himself, enjoying your touch but trying to restrain the overbearing thoughts that involve plunging deep inside of you no matter how loud you scream.
"Ma'kalin... I do not want to hurt you."
"Please..." you whimper desperately, hand moving up and down his cock faster while you arch your back to try and get closer, "I need you... I promise to tell you my limits."
He paused to consider this, opening his eyes to watch yours for anything, and all he could see was your lust and desperation for him. His ears lower, wondering what he did to deserve such a need for him, and how he could've possibly deserved it. Regardless of his inner demons, his own need for you clouds most of his usual judgments and he surrenders to you, nodding once before spitting into his hand and gently moving your hand off of his cock. You both moan as his hand rubs up and down his length, and hopefully the saliva and pre cum you had spread earlier would be enough to slip inside your tight heat with ease.
You sit up, and for a moment he's alert at the idea you are changing your mind, but you smile and grab his mask, lifting it up to his mouth, "Take a breath first."
"Curse this thing," he mutters under his breath, his tail twitching behind him at the soft sound of your laugh. He does as he's told and takes a deep breath before letting the mask fall back around his neck.
He lies you back down as your lips meet once more, tilting your head to deepen the kiss. Your movements stalled when you felt the tip of his cock press on your clit before slowly dragging down toward your entrance, making your breath hitch in anticipation.
So'lek parts from the kiss and briefly brushes his lips over your soft cheek, "Now it is your turn to take a breath."
You nod obediantly, expanding your lungs as you deeply inhale just as he began to press his cock into your pussy. Your hands immediately fly up to hang onto So'lek's hair once more when you felt your pussy begin to stretch around his cock, his movements so agonizingly slow but you appreciated it once that ring of muscle that held his length like a vice grip in your entrance began to burn. You slowly exhale, albiet a little shaky at the uncomfortable stretch. Looking down, your internally horrified that he's barely two inches inside of you. A soft whimper escapes your throat and So'lek is swift to reassure you, dipping his head into the crook of your neck while his hand reaches between your bodies to gently rub your clit to ease the pain.
"I know..." his presses a kiss into the side of your neck, "I know. You are doing so well, ma'kalin, taking my cock so well..."
You mewl beneath his praise, taking a better, deeper breath as he pushes another inch inside. The burn isn't as painful and as his thumb continues to rub your clit, the stretch almost feels arousing. You already want to move your hips up to meet his, but you remain still instead, hellbent on the idea of getting him to fit in as much as possible before doing anything else.
It's a few minutes of patience and determination, but eventually, you can feel the tip of So'lek's cock breach the top of your cervix, bumping into that special, spongy spot that makes you whimper with pleasure.
"By Eywa..." So'lek groans quietly into your neck, "Feel yourself, ma'kalin."
You do as your told and reach down to where you know his thumb is currently rubbing your clit, only to pause when you felt something unfamiliar on your body. A large protrusion beneath your skin, sticking out of your abdomen. You look down between your bodies and moan. So'lek was only able to fit his cock a little over halfway in, and whatever he could fit was now forming a large bulge in your belly. You reach and press down on the bulge, the instant response was So'lek gripping tightly onto your hips.
"You..." he sounds as though he's been punched, groaning when you unintentionally squeeze around him until he finds his words, "You are so tight. I can feel every inch of you squeezing my cock."
"Does it hurt?" You ask with a small hint of worry.
A small quiver of a smile rises in the corner of his mouth, able to hide it in your shoulder as his kisses a small freckle on your skin, "In a good way. Always a good way. Keep tightening around me and I might finish without even moving."
A staggered breath escapes your lips, closing your eyes just to feel it all. The feel of being so full, the feel of his finger on your clit, the feel of his large body on top of you, both of your bodies moulded together, despite difference in size. Your gummy walls clench, and you feel the way his cock twitches in response, followed by a small snarl that released from deep in So'lek's chest. Your hands gently card through his hair and be sure to avoid his kuru when you guide him out of the juncture of your neck to look at him. You're not disappointed by his expression, his hairless brow pinched together in blissful agony, a small bead of sweat dripping down from his forehead and over the scar on the side of his face. You find your fingers following the pattern of the scar, tracing it and catching the bead of sweat, wiping it away.
He opens his eyes at your small gesture, staring wide eyed at you as if he had made some sort of new discovery. Your stomach fluttered in response, meeting his gaze as a roar of need waves through you. Without breaking eye contact, you move your hips and it only helps his cock slip further inside you.
He nearly buckled then and there, startled to the point he needed to remember to hold himself above you so you wouldn't be crushed. He growls deep in his throat, the bridge of his muzzle scrunched up as he grit his teeth. Unbeknowst to him, his reaction made your heart skip a beat, and if he wasn't already buried deep inside you, your legs would've no doubt clenched together to relieve the heat beginning to grow. Taking your hint, So'lek begins to moves his hips, pulling out and only going as far to leave the tip inside before sliding back in, your stuttering breaths mingling together as the ridges of his cock bumps and fits in all of the grooves of your aching walls, creating the most erotic friction you knew no toy could ever recreate. The idea of this man ruining all other sexual experiences for you was both enticing and mournful, knowing you would never be able to properly get yourself off ever again. Then again, you wouldn't mind always having to go to him in order to climax from here on out. Just as long as he felt the same.
Slick with sweat, your bodies slide together as So'lek finally starts to pick up the pace, the sound of skin slapping together filling up the lab that was your little corner of paradise. Each of his thrusts punches a moan out of you, your hands moving to get a better grip on his body, only to leave long and angry scratch marks up and down his back, your legs wrapped tightly around his hips.
The pleasant sting of your nails only encourages So'lek to rut more roughly into you, growling and snarling in your ear, an animalistic desire driving him to chase after your cervix with every thrust. The instinct to mark you all over clouded his mind, but he purposely clenched his jaw to refrain from doing so. For now, the scent he already left on you would be enough to mark his claim. It was also driving him to his climax quicker than he wanted, not when he wanted you to reach yours first. It wasn't just a want. It was a need for him.
Needing to help you reach your peak faster, he puts his hands and tongue to work. He had to hunch a little uncomfortably to reach his intended target, but it was all worth it when one hand was figioursly rubbing your clit while his tongue swirled around one of your nipples, driving the coil in your stomach to start winding up unbearably tight, already oozing out small waves of ectsasy like warm honey.
"So'-- fuck!" You gasp, your body already beginning to shake, "I'm going to come--"
"Do it," he growled out, unintentionally turning the phrase into an order as his hips stutter before returning to their previous pace, "Come on my cock, sevin 'eve. Let me... by Eywa-- hear how good I make you feel."
His cock rams right into the best spot inside of you, your screams heightened as you began to see stars, "Fuckfuckfuck!"
You grab onto the only thing you could reach, his forearms, and let yourself go. Your toes curl as the coil inside you snaps, sending wave after wave of pounding pleasure through you from head to toe, flooding all of your other senses with the rush of your high, making your head feel light. Your mouth had fallen open in a silent scream, too overwhelmed to make any other sounds.
Your pussy was clenching and unclenching around So'lek's cock as you come, and the sight of you made his own head feel dizzy. The breathy groans he lets out makes your walls clench tighter around him, and after a few more quick thrusts, he's burying his cock as deep as he could get and spilling inside your already full pussy, painting your pulsating walls in large streams of white. He has to remove his hands from your body to keep himself upright, and even then you faintly notice the way his arms shake from such intensity. You two take those few moments to remain still, basking in your shared orgasms, panting heavily and not wanting to move if it meant the high would fade faster.
You had thought he had emptied everything inside you, but when he slowly and agonizingly pulled out, he was still spilling out a few short streams of cum and they end up landing onto your stomach, his cock twitching as he watched his essence stream down your skin and leak out of your pussy. His heart was still racing and his muscles were tense, unable to relax as his cock continued to twitch as he tried to catch his breath.
You take pity on him and move your arms around his frame, manovering him until he's lying on his side next to you. His muscles finally relax once he's not holding himself up, groaning quietly once he manages to press his mask to his mouth and take another breath.
He's reaching for you tiredly even before he's letting the mask drop around his neck, "I will clean you up..."
"Not now," you reply, boldly curling up into his chest to keep warm once the air in the lab had cooled down. You close your eyes and smile to yourself, "Just take your time. I'm in no rush."
He's hesitant at first, but he eventually wraps his arms around you, trying not to think too hard about this little tawtute currently safe in his embrace, your breathing starting to slow as you're finally relaxed enough to go to sleep, using his chest to rest your head. With the cloud of lust lifting, his mind is at war while his heart is at peace. He knows he shouldn't be selfish after what just happened, but he secretly wishes to have this moment all the time. Every night with you would be marvelous... but he's not sure if that's what you want, despite having just fucked you silly.
He lets himself be selfish for a little while longer, just for tonight, his fingertips lightly following the path down your spine, creating goosebumps on your skin, and lulling you to sleep.
(Ao’nung x Fem! MetkayinaReader)
Tumblr media
warnings: (y/n) is described as female
context: young Ao’nung meets the shy daughter of the Olo’eyktan from a neighboring village and finds himself developing a little crush. Ao’nung and (Y/N) are about 7 and 8 years old.
AN: uhahahahaha yeah this isn’t proof read at all. So apologies if it’s kinda all over(?)
part two
Young love:
Tumblr media
“Ao’nung, this is (Y/N)” Tonowari introduces his son to the little girl.
Ao’nung awkwardly waves looked at the girl who had stayed hidden behind her own fathers legs.
“…hello there” he says softly noticing the girl was shy.
The girls father scooted to the side and lightly nudged his daughter forward gesturing her to greet the boy back.
She stares up at her father with scared eyes shaking her head no but her father only looked at her with a gentle gaze silently pleading for her to do so.
Getting the hint she looks down playing her her hands introducing herself quietly. “hi…Ao’nung…I’m (Y/N)” a soft voice reached all their ears.
As soon as Ao’nung heard the angelic voice his ears visibly twitch and perk up hearing his name leave her lips. Heat rushed to his cheeks as he couldn’t stop the smile reaching his face.
“Hi (Y/N)!” He greets again with his tail wagging behind him at the little girl standing in front.
The two men laugh watching their children interact with another. “Ao’nung why don’t you take (Y/N) to go play while me and Ta'unui talk about some adult stuff.”
“okay, come on (Y/N) we can go to hang out by the water” Ao’nung takes a few steps before stopping waiting for her to follow.
“sempu… I’m scared” the little girl mumbles holding on to her fathers hand tightly while looking up at him not wanting to leave his side as this was a whole new place to her.
Ta'unui gave his daughter a reassuring smile before grabbing her hand and bringing her to Ao’nung placing her hand in the boys.
“There’s no need to be scared, if anything happens Ao’nung will be there to protect you. Right Ao’nung?” Ta'unui looks at Ao’nung.
Ao’nung gently gripped (Y/N)’s hand smiling at her before looking at the two older men puffing his chest out standing straight. “Of course I will, I am the future Olo’eyktan.”
“Atta’ boy, now go on. We will call you when you can come back. Maybe show (Y/N) around the village yeah?” Tonowari says proudly with a thumbs up.
“Of course father, Come on let’s go (Y/N)” Ao’nung says pulling her along as they leave to go walk around the village.
“This is where the village holds their trading, you can trade your baskets or jewelry for fruit and fish and the other way around” He gestures to the items that were out.
(Y/N) shyly looks at him and then around staring at all the items that were laid on a mat for display. A shiny shell catches her eye and Ao’nung who was watching her the whole time notices and trails over to where she was looking at.
“Do you like that shell?” He asks as he walks them closer to take a better look. (Y/N) doesn’t say anything by stare in awe. He knew she wanted it when he saw a twinkle in her eye, It was a white colored shell with a tan pattern across it. (Kinda like his mothers ;) )
Ao’nung knew not to take her quietness as rude, from what he observed she was very shy are rarely talked from being nervous so it was just how she was.
Ao’nung smiles and keeps it in mind before asking if she wanted to go look at other stuff. She smiled and nodded her head.
While (Y/N) was distracted Ao’nung had asked one of the aunties for a flower saying he would trade them some fish that he’ll catch later but they shook their head and gave it to him for free.
Being the Olo’eyktan sometimes had its perks. He called the girls name to get her attention.
“I got you this flower.” Ao’nung shows her while her eyes lit up at the sight of it. His face once again heating up.
Ao’nung smiles and bring his hand on the bottom of her chin making her look up at him and puts the flower behind her ear.
He watches her face as it started to cover with a purple hue, she smiles at Ao’nung. “Thank you Ao’nung”
Oh how he wished to hear her voice more, it was like music to his ears.
Tumblr media
As it got late they both made it back to Ao’nung’s Marui, where their fathers stayed, still hand in hand.
“Just in time, I was about to send someone out to get you guys” Tonowari opens the door letting them in.
(Y/N) let’s go of Ao’nung’s hand before running up to her dad hugging his hip and pointing to the flower behind her ear.
A small pout fell on his face as he looked at his now empty hand. He wanted to hold her hand for longer, he wanted her to stay by his side.
“Hey ‘itetsyìp did you have fun with Ao’nung?” Ta'unui asks his daughter while hugging her back.
“Oh did he get you this flower to you as well?” (Y/N) grinning brightly nodded her head up and down with excitement.
“He did! Isn’t it so pretty sempu!” She looks at Ao’nung making eye contact and smiles with him reciprocating the action.
A second later they were all interrupted by presence at the door. It was a lady, she looked familiar to the little girl but she couldn’t exactly pin point where she saw her before.
“Sorry for interrupting Olo’eyktan’s , Ao’nung here’s the gift you requested me to make. I hope you like it” the woman gives him an item that was wrapped up in cloth and takes her leave saying goodbye.
The two men and little girl stare at the young boy confused as to what was wrapped up.
“It’s actually a gift for you, (Y/N)..I had her make you something special..” Ao’nung says while walking over to her handing out the gift.
(Y/N) looks up at her dad and he nods motioning his head towards it. She walks forward and shyly takes it.
As (Y/N) unwraps the cloth a gasp fell from her lips as she saw what was inside. It was a necklace with different pearls and beads with the shell she was looking at earlier in the middle. That’s where she recognized the lady from.
“Ao’nung!” She runs up the boy and wraps her arms around his waist giving him a big hug. “This is the best gift ever! Thank you so much! I love it!”
“Of course, I saw how much you liked it so I just had to get it for you. Here let me put it on you”
He grabs the necklace out of her hands and waits as she turns around holding her hair up so he could put it on.
“Thank you Ao’nung that was very kind of you to give that to her” Ta'unui pats the boys head nodding in approval.
“But I’m afraid it’s time for us to leave, we have to get back to our village before your mom skins me alive for being late.”
The two kids frown in sadness. “Don’t worry you’ll get to see each other very soon” Tonowari say while putting a hand on Ao’nungs shoulder.
“Thank you for your time, May we meet again” The fathers give their goodbyes as the kids do the same.
And with that Tonowari and Ao’nung watch as (Y/N) and her father get on their skimwing and ilu and swim off.
Warnings: grammatical errors (feel free to tell me!), older Ao'nung, angst? mention of death BUT HAPPY ENDING <33
THE SONG IS NOT MINE!!! IT'S CALLED: if the world was ending.
BEAUTIFUL ART OF OLDER AO'NUNG IS ALSO NOT MINE, FULL CREDITS TO THE ORIGINAL OWNER/ARTIST. here's the link where i found it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Y/N has always been mysterious. Even as a small child, Ao'nung remembered her as a small, quiet girl. But even when he got to know her, and played with her in the water, she never told him anything about herself. He could talk for hours and she said nothing.
He started liking Y/N as a teenager. She was really pretty, not pretty, beautiful, and caught the eyes of many. Ao'nung had to fight for her, for her favor. For the favor of the mysterious beauty, as he called her. That nickname got on Y/N's nerves.
But Y/N didn't want him. She didn't want the others either.
Ao'nung didn't understand. He went then, 15 years old, to his father, all unhappy with Y/N's rejection.
"Son, now listen carefully," Tonowari told him.
His wife, Ronal was amused by this, she liked that the girl taught her son a lesson that he doesn't always get what he wants. Of course, she felt sorry for him. But it brought a smile to her lips that her son is growing up. She was sure that girl liked him, she knew it from the way Y/N looked at her son. They were too young to have serious love.
"You shouldn't tell your mother this. But Y/L/N's girls were always mysterious as well as beautiful. So very much. Ah. I knew her mother, Ao'nung. She was a beautiful woman. Honor to her memory,"
Ao'nung never knew Y/N's mom, Y/N didn't like to talk about her. It was known that she died because someone from the sky people killed her.
"If I didn't know your mom back then, I probably would have thing with her. And maybe not. She already had a thing with Y/N's father by then." Tonowari thought.
"Dad, what does this have to do with what you want to tell me? Ugh,” Ao'nung rolled his eyes.
"Sorry! I want to tell you, son, that the girl has some secrets that she doesn't want to tell you. Some painful secrets like her mother. You know, she may be beautiful, but is she worth it? To love someone who will never reveal himself to you?"
"Marriage is not boring then, you still have the opportunity to learn something about each other," Ronal appeared out of nowhere.
"Ronal," Tonowari said and Ronal apologized with her eyes and walked away with some herb she had come for. She left them alone.
"But mom is right, dad. I want her and one day I will have her," Ao'nung declared confidently.
His father messed up the hair on his son's head. “Okay, Ao'nung. But wait a little longer, because now you are a child. And she's too. Everything will come. And choose with your heart, not your mind. Whether she will be your wife or another, love each other."
10 years later
Y/N was holding the blue flower Ao'nung had given her. Olo'eyktan. Her husband.
This year was so sad. For the whole clan. Tonowari died. In battle. Ao'nung didn't take it well and Y/N stood by him. She wiped his tears and comforted him. But Ao'nung had to become their leader. He has to be Olo'eyktan like his father. Y/N knew his father would be proud of him.
"But he would like you to stand up. To be strong," she put her hand on his shoulder.
Ao'nung took her hand and looked into her eyes. She was now his support in these difficult times. Not that he didn't have support from his pregnant sister, but his sister had enough of her worries. He didn't want to bother her. And his mother? She went away somewhere. She needed to be alone. After all, she lost her husband.
Only Y/N didn't leave him. She stood by him. She always stood by him. It was strange, Ao'nung sometimes acted like a jerk, but for some strange reason, she was always there for him. She once revealed to him that it was because she liked him.
"Ao'nung, I look at you and see a strong leader in you. Like your father. You will be a wise and strong leader. I am proud of you,"
Ao'nung dropped to his knees before her and kissed her hands.
"What are you doing?? Get up!” Y/N ordered him.
Ao'nung ignored her.
“Y/N… be with me. Rule with me. I love you."
Y/N had tears in her eyes. "Ao'nung..." she didn't want to believe what was happening. Her childhood friend, who had been chasing her for years, had grown up and become a man. And now he is kneeling in front of her and begging her to become his wife.
"Please. You are my only comfort. Hope."
"Yes. Ao'nung. Yes.” she threw herself around his neck and Ao'nung kissed her tears away. They kissed each other's tears. They always loved each other, even though Y/N took longer because.. she didn't even know why. But she knew one thing her heart belonged to Ao'nung.
╭┈◦•◦❥•◦ Ao'nung slept hard. Y/N didn't. It didn't make sense, they made love all night, they promised each other their love, they mated and they were married. She should have been tired. But she wasn't. She stared at the sky full of stars.
She turned and looked at her husband. He was so handsome. He always was, but now he seemed the most handsome to her.
She had one thing to do. She simply had to. She had to say goodbye and start over. She hoped Ao'nung would forgive her. He might not even notice.
She kissed him and stood up. She threw on her clothes and quietly went to the water. The whole village was asleep and that was good. She quietly called her Ilu. Then she stroked it and they set off.
She had to go to the Tree Of Spirits.
The sea was so magical at night, everything was lit up and sea life was bustling under the water.
When they reached their destination, Y/N sent Ilu away and went to the tree. She connected her braid to the tree.
╭┈◦•◦❥•◦ “Y/N. Every night, every year. You will always come," her mother hugged her.
Y/N was shaking, tears in her eyes. "Mom. I miss you,"
She stroked her hair. "I know, honey."
"Mom... I came to say goodbye to you. I love you but…” Y/N looked at her mother.
"I know. It's time. Don't give up. But to let go," her mother whispered to her.
"I am letting you go. All those years..."
“It wasn't your fault, Y/N. Stop blaming yourself. It was my decision."
"I could have saved you"
"You were a child. What mother would not sacrifice herself for her child?"
Y/N cried:" I saw it. I saw how they killed you. In a brutal way. It never left my mind. I couldn't save you."
Her mother grabbed her hand. "Angel, I'm dead. And I am at peace. I never once regretted my decision. It was the best decision. To let you live."
She sighed. "But promise me something. You won't come here again. You let me go. A new beautiful life full of love awaits you."
"Your husband will love you until his last breath. But you have to forgive yourself. I forgive you, even if I have nothing to forgive, but if it gives you inner peace, then I forgive you. Eywa forgives you too," the mother touched Y/N's heart. "Now is the time for you to forgive yourself."
╭┈◦•◦❥•◦ Ao'nung smiled in satisfaction. He finally smiled. He was smiling after those long dark days. He had a beautiful passionate night with a woman, his wife, whom he sincerely loves.
He turned towards her to say something, but she wasn't there. He got up angrily. He must be dreaming of that! He went outside, but she was nowhere in sight.
The sun was slowly rising and Ao'nung looked for her all over the village. She was nowhere.
Did she run away from him?
Of course, it was too good to be true. Of course, she left. She left him like everyone else. He roared like a wounded roar and fell to his knees.
"Ao'nung," his sister walked up to him and wanted to get him to his feet. "You don't know what day it is today, do you?"
╭┈◦•◦❥•◦ Y/N had a big problem. She had inner peace, but she found out a terrible thing. And that she was much longer there than she planned. She found it out by the sun. She was afraid to go back to the village, but she had to be strong.
She hoped that no one would be waiting for her on the beach, but she was wrong. There were a lot of them. But Ao'nung was not there. Y/N's heart skipped a beat. Was he angry?
"Olo'eyktan! She's back!" someone shouted and Ao'nung appeared from the shadows, like a god of vengeance. He had an angry expression on his face. But he didn't want to make a scene in front of everyone, so without a word, he grabbed her hand and dragged her to where they would have privacy.
"Ao'nung."
"Shut up. Now I'll speak," he said angrily, making sure no one heard them.
"How could you do this to me? After our night, you just disappeared. Do you know what it was like to wake up and you weren't there? I was really worried about you! Y/N!” he yelled.
Y/N looked down. She felt useless. She was sorry.
"Ao'nung, I would never leave you. You know that." she whispered.
Ao'nung looked down at her. "Really? How can I trust you?"
Y/N fell to her knees. "Sorry. I'm sorry, but I had to do it. I had to forgive myself," she whispered.
"Get up," he motioned to her, but she didn't get up. She shook her head. "Punish me if you want, I deserve it, Olo'eyktan."
Ao'nung's expression softened. “I don't want to punish you, y/n. I love you too much for that. But please, let's be honest with each other." he sat down. "No more secrets. I don't know if I can handle any more secrets. I used to like that about you, Y/N, that you were mysterious but now.."
"I understand that. And I have nothing to hide from you. I'll tell you everything," she took a deep breath.
1 year later
Ao'nung kissed his wife passionately. She giggled. "Ao'nung, stop! Someone can see us!"
"Then let them see how I love you," he rolled his eyes.
Y/N wrapped her arms around his neck. "I love you so much, my husband"
"I love you too, my mysterious beauty."
"You know I have nothing to hide from you anymore," she sighed and Ao'nung grabbed her hand. "I know, but I still like that about you and I always will. It was part of you and it still is."
bunny — jake sully
Tumblr media
Description: Jake always called you bunny. You were determined to get the meaning out of him.
Pairing: Jake Sully x GN!Reader
Warnings/Tags: heavy use of ‘bunny’ as a pet name, courting and talks of mating, jake being a little shit, just fluff, angst if you squint, unedited. also tsu’tey is alive bc i said so!
Word Count: 1.9k
Author’s Note: dont like this that much tbh. been feeling kinda insecure abt my writing lately so thats not helping lol
(Dialogue in italics is spoken in English, normal text is Na’vi)
You weren’t a stranger to the language barrier that existed between you and Jake. It was more prevalent during his training period, when you had taken over after Neytiri bargained with her parents in transferring the role to you. At first, it was a burden. Teaching a dreamwalker who had no place in the clan. But you also had a soft spot for Grace, who taught you what she could about their own culture.
Eventually, it became fun. There was a point where you realized you no longer saw him as responsibility, but rather as a companion.
Now, as the clan was making great progress after the war, Jake asked many eclipses ago if he could begin courting you. You were touched by his insistence on following tradition, though it was the least he could do. Still, he learned to weave (albeit badly at first), make accessories, and most importantly, speak your language. There were even times when Norm, whom you visited occasionally when Jake did, grumbled at how much better he’d gotten—referencing back to when the marine struggled getting it through his thick skull until you came along.
But there was just one thing that perplexed you. Even though Jake adopted the Na’vi language with an open heart, there was one word he refused to shake from his daily vocabulary: bunny.
When he first said it to you, you thought it might have been a slip-up. He was just learning how to make better landings with his ikran, and when you teased that he’d never be able to keep up with you, he said, “You don’t know what you’re in for, bunny.”
With ears flat against your head at the sound of a foreign word, you brushed him off and flew away, beckoning him to chase you once more.
Then, the war happened.
You didn’t hear it out of his mouth again until he began to court you, much more recently. The second time was when he greeted you outside your kelku with a serving of fruit wrapped in a leaf, one morning. This time, he said: “Rise and shine, bunny. I got something special for you.”
“Do you take me for a fool, Jakesully?” You replied.
His eyes widened upon hearing his entire name, likely fearful that he said something wrong. After all, he was still getting used to Na’vi customs.
You snickered at his reaction, “Why do you call me that?”
“Call you what?”
“Bunny. A human word.”
He smirked, that cocky little shit. “It’s just a term of endearment. Come on, eat. I brought you food.”
You took the item from his hand and invited him in.
A few more eclipses passed—he was busy in his role, training and working with Tsu’tey to make sure everything is in order, yet he found pockets of time during the day to be next to you while you did your part.
Jake was starting to spend more and more of his downtime in your kelku. It was common for you to wake up before dawn to see Jake already waiting outside, often with food and something he made.
Gifts were already piling up in your home. Around this time, it was customary for the other party to propose an official union to whom they were courting, but it seems Jake hadn’t gotten the courage just yet. Though, you never refused a gift; the poor man was trying his best to—in his words—be worthy of you. The sentiment and his reasoning made your heart swell, but there was one problem: he would not, for the love of Eywa, let up on calling you bunny.
Whenever you questioned him, his smirk only grew. You understood that Jake took pleasure in teasing you, hell, you teased him a lot more, but you no longer wanted to give him that satisfaction.
So, you devised a plan.
-
Jake, having been used to the growing intimacy that came along with courtship like the hugs and kisses, was taken aback when he was suddenly deprived of it.
He didn’t think much of it at first. When you no longer invited him into your home because you wanted to get started on your tasks early, he commanded you for your dedication and followed your example. But it kept happening, over and over again.
Then, you didn’t grin like you usually did when he kissed you on the forehead before leaving. Though he recognized the familiar purple hue on your cheeks, he began to worry that he was too overbearing or you’d lost interest. Or both.
He and Tsu’tey were sparring as an example for the younger warriors when his opponent noticed how easy it was to defeat him that day.
“Losing your touch, Jakesully?” Tsu’tey grinned, going for a hit against Jake’s side, the other one barely dodging it in time.
“No, man.” Jake stepped it up significantly, channeling his anger into the fake fight.
They kept going, quipping back and forth until Tsu’tey was able to hold him down and say, “Tap out, Jakesully.” His knee put pressure on Jake’s chest, “If you know what’s good for you.”
“Alright.”
They continued training throughout the day, but Tsu’tey ended it early.
“What is troubling you, brother?” He pulled Jake aside away from the crowd as they left training grounds.
Talking to him couldn’t hurt, Jake thought. “You know Y/N well, right?”
“We have been friends since we were babies, so yes.”
“They’ve been…distant, lately.”
Tsu’tey laughed, a glint in his eyes. “I’m sure you’ll be fine.” (In truth, you told Tsu’tey about your plan.)
After a beat, Jake stared at him with a bewildered expression. “What, that’s it? No advice?”
“You should have known better.”
Tsu’tey walked away, leaving Jake to stand there and wallow in his misery. (Misery may be a little farfetched. But it sure felt like that.)
Arriving home with a newfound determination after taking a deep breath, he trod lightly toward your kelku. He couldn’t hear you inside, but tapped on the door anyway.
“Look, bunny.” He sighed, not caring the stares others are shooting him. His dignity did not matter if it meant he could keep you. “I’m sorry for whatever I did. Can we talk? You—you know…I haven’t said it yet but I love you. I see you. Please let me in.”
One of your neighbours, seeing Jake grovelling outside your home, interrupted him.
“They are not home, Jakesully.”
He turned. “Do you know where they are?”
“They went out into the forest.”
“What? Why?”
“We don’t know.”
-
The sterile smell of the lab invaded your nostrils, your nose scrunching up on instinct and involuntarily giving one of the scientists angry eyes as they handed you a mask. You were familiar with the place, but you’d never been here without Jake.
“Where is Norm?” You tried not to run into their tiny workspaces, hissing when your foot hit the corner of a table. When the scientist didn’t answer, you took it upon yourself to wander around.
He appeared from around a corner. “Hey, what’s up?” He looked behind you. “Where’s Jake?”
“I did not bring him.”
“Alright, well.” Norm was speechless for a moment. “What do you need?”
“I need you to translate a word.”
“Um—sure, go right ahead.”
“Bunny.”
With Norm’s perplexed look, you waited patiently. Within a moment, he said, “Well…a bunny is an animal.”
“What does it mean to call someone that?”
“It depends on the context, but it’s likely a term of endearment. Why, is Jake calling you that?”
Growing impatient, “Show me this animal.” Before he can respond, “On your little touch pad.“
“Uhm. Sure. Of course.”
When he grabbed one and showed it to you, there were no words, you only stared at him for an explanation.
“Bunnies are—were—rare on Earth. They’re considered very cute because of their fur and small size.”
“But I do not have any fur. Nor am I small.”
He strained his head to make eye contact with you. “You’re right. But I think it’s just a cute nickname—“
A loud banging cut his sentence short, followed by a distressed sounding Jake saying, “Norm!”
You stayed back and watched as Norm excused himself to greet Jake at the door, disappearing into the corner. It was close enough you could hear their conversation.
“Hey, Jake, I was just—“
“I need your help.” He sounded out of breath. You snickered.
“Well let me get—“
“No time! I need to find Y/N—“
Deciding you had enough of hearing him so concerned, you strutted into his line of sight.
Jake‘s breath stuttered at the view of you. His hair was disheveled, tail swishing in all kinds fo directions. He closed the distance, then, suddenly remembering something, stayed frozen a few inches away. He scanned your figure, and satisfied, he began to breathe normally.
“I have been looking for you everywhere. Where have you been? I flew around with Bob and you were nowhere to be seen, they said you went into the forest and you—“
You placed a hand on his cheek, caressing it gently. “I am fine, beloved. I was here the whole time.”
“Here?” His voice cracked, more out of exhaustion. “But you never come here.”
“I needed to ask Norm a question.”
Jake glanced at the man mentioned for a second, who shrugged. “What for? You could have asked me.”
“That is the problem, I did ask you.”
At his furrowed brows, you explained. “I needed to know what you meant by bunny!”
“I told you it was a term of endearment.”
“But you never explained why,” you frowned.
“Look, I was coming to tell you something. Norm, can you leave?”
Relieved at no longer having to hear your lover’s quarrel, “For sure.”
Jake’s large hand snaked up to your neck, pulling you closer. “I’m sorry.”
“What for?”
“For whatever I did. I don’t know what I did, but you can tell me and I’ll try to make it up.”
“Jake—“
“Are you losing interest? Because if that’s it—mmph!”
You covered his mouth with your hand, holding back a smile.
“I should apologize. I was just playing with you.”
“Hm?” You felt his lips purse under your palm.
“You kept teasing me with bunny, and I didn’t want to give you the satisfaction of my frustration. It was not serious, love.”
Removing your hand, he silenced you this time by slotting his lips over yours, subsequently smiling at the prospect of you not actually being mad at him.
When he pulled away, both of you were beaming.
“I have something else to tell you,” he licked his lips, your eyes gravitating toward it. “I love you. I see you. Can we—um…” He seemed to lose confidence, losing his footing in the words.
“Say it.”
“I want to mate with you. I want to be your mate. Be with you forever, please?” His eyes softened, searching yours for any sign of rejection.
Yet, he found none. He found only what he has found in you countless times, and that’s a simple emotion: happiness. At least, it was simple when it came to you. You made it that way.
“So? What do you say, bunny?”
You playfully slapped his chest. “Of course. Forever.”
Additional A/N: the ‘bunny’ nickname was inspired by stargirlrchive’s fic here
y’all ever get the nastiest thoughts in ur head like aged!upspider socorro (avatar) x navi!reader size difference? but he’s the smaller one? even if he’s already gigantic at 6 feet he’s still little compared to you because you’re na’vi??? holy shit amirite
Tumblr media
when he’s finally between your legs, guiding his cock in your cunt, he slides in and groans, “you’re so tight,” he whispers, skin tingling in pleasure when he feels your hand on his back, big enough to run the entire span of it. when he lays his head, he only reaches up to your tits, so he pinches them, telling you how much he wants to be able to take off his exopack so that he could kiss every inch of your skin.
to give you maximum pleasure, he has to thrust all the way in, balls deep into your pussy so you can feel the entirety of his cock grazing your walls. your legs are almost as big as his entire torso, and seeing your face twist in pleasure, mumbling and begging that you’re so close to cumming, also has him pounding and grinding deep into your cunt. he may not have the body of a na’vi, not yet, and he couldn’t make tsaheylu with you, but knowing that even with the size difference he can still bring you to orgasm, twitching and squirting into his chest (and even splashing on his exopack” has him rutting and blowing his load deep into your cunt. “fuck, so good,” he breathes into your stomach, resting his masked forehead on it, “your pussy’s so good.” he feels your tail wrapped along his leg, and he look up at you, smiling softly. “i wish i could kiss you.”
A languid underwater movement gently ripples the surface of the lake.
With the point of your arrow aimed a little off of its' mark, you tug the bowstring further backward. All the muscles in your arms and upper back grind in their place. With a swift slip of the finger-the arrow soars straight for your prey. It hits the target.
Tuktirey oohs from behind you. "Your aim is so good!" Buzzing with eagerness, she steps forward, now standing alongside you. "I still can't hold my arm without quivering."
You're slow to lower your arms, mindful of the spasming muscles caused by the strenuous movement of pulling and holding the string for so long. You had been tracking that fish for an unnerving amount of seconds until he stopped swimming.
You smile. "You'll learn soon enough, Tuk. These things take practice."
A dewy breeze flows by the clearing. It blows the strands of your hair out of place and rustles the leaves in a swaying movement. Today's hunt has been uneventful; the fish are scarce around these parts, and the water a little turbid from all the dirt of the lakebed.
You step into the lake, movement rippling the surface of the cold water. Grass blades and tiny stones splash around and stick to your shin. Suddenly, a distant memory of your childhood springs to mind. Small feet splashing in shallow waters similar to these, contagious laughter hushed so as not to disturb the prey-and the ghost of the presence of your brother.
"Yeah, but you're like," Tuk's voice startles you back to the moment. "One of the best archers in the clan."
She awaits you by the large rocks along the lake, with the basket for keeping the fish in her hands. You're unable to contain a smile from her flattering words.
With deft precision, you grab the arrow and pull the point from the now motionless fish with little effort. Placing your catch inside the basket, you're rewarded with a bright smile from your smaller companion. Peeking inside it, you sigh. Only a handful of fish secured so far.
"She used to be just as bad as you, you know." Neytiri teases from her place atop a larger rock. She wears a much too familiar mischievous grin. You've seen this same smile on another face.
"She's right." You confirm. The nostalgia tastes sweet on the tip of your tongue. "I had such a hard time with my posture when I began using the bow."
With deliberation, you step out from the lake, cleaning your feet and shin on the tall grass as you pass it. Sitting by Neytiri's feet, you take to skinning your catches alongside her. Your knife slides smoothly under the scales, moving rhythmically and simultaneously with her motions.
"I used to make her shoot with no arrows for hours to practice her stance."
The mention of Neytiri's teaching methods rips a laugh out of you and Tuk. Despite being strict and unconventional, she wrangled impressive results out of you. Something that your father, as a well-established teacher-warrior, did not. Despite years of trying.
You throw the skinned fish back inside the basket and reach for another.
"Your mom was a strict teacher, be glad that you're learning from Saeyla instead."
Even years later, the pads of your fingers still sport the cuts from the bowstring, after spending countless hours repeating the same motion every day for weeks.
"Yeah, but I mean, you learned eventually," Tuk remarks.
And you did. It became muscle memory, as easy to breathe and to eat. Pull the bowstring, aim, shoot the arrow, watch as the body gives out, repeat.
Tuk reaches into her mother's basket for a fish of her own to skin. She had just recently crafted a longer knife for herself and has been taking every opportunity to use it. It reminds you of the excitement you also felt when that happened to you.
You shoot her a cheeky wink, lips pulling back in a teasing smile.
"And now the student surpassed her teacher."
Neytiri laughs. "You still have a lot to learn." And the teasing lilt of her voice lets you know that she took your comment in good humor. Years of familiarity have made understanding every member of Neteyam's family an easy task.
A shadow falls over your figures, and you look up toward the canopy of the trees. The sun is leisurely going down behind the trees, taking its warm rays with it. You've been at this for quite a while now, you guess. The eclipse is to happen in no time.
Neteyam must be on his way home at this moment. With sagging shoulders, undoubtedly hungry enough to eat all of these fishes by himself. The thought pulls a faint smile to your lips. With eager fingers, you clean the blade of your knife and sheath it over your chest. Throwing the last fish back inside the basket, you face Neytiri and Tuk once again, preparing to say your farewell. You start by pulling your bow over your head.
Your voice cuts the silence of the clearing, "Thank you for keeping me company today. But I must go home now."
Their faces pull in an identical pout at your words. Looking at them, one could mistake both women for sisters. Tuktirey has matured fast, her limbs elongated and features refined-and she resembles her mother and older brother more each day.
Tuktirey lifts your basket full of your catches, handing it over to you. "Tell Neteyam I said I miss him."
"Will do."
Neytiri's ears perk up at her daughter's comment. Dropping her chore, she chides in with a remark of her own, "And that you're both welcome to come over more often."
Your ears drop in embarrassment. "I'll make sure to remember him, sa'nok."
"Bye!"
"Be safe on your way home."
You open your mouth to repeat her words in return, but you realize your foolishness. She doesn't need your well wishes. An armed Neytiri is a force to reckon with. There isn't a single worry in your mind that Tuktirey and herself will arrive home safely. So you decide to part ways with a wave instead.
The basket rests heavily on your hip as you attentively skip through the running younglings. Toothless bright smiles decorate each of their tiny and round-cheeked faces, which you mirror involuntarily. Most of these children will spend their entire days running and playing around the grounds to tire themselves out. As their parents finish their clan duties, hearts weightless with the certainty that they will return home unharmed.
A long sigh heaves through your lips. All of your limbs ache as they plead for a restful nap in wait for your mate to return from his lessons. There might be some time before he arrives, and you can prepare yourselves to participate in the communal meal after.
You make your way through the flap of your home tent, and your heart leaps.
In the middle of your tent lays Neteyam. Body laid out upon the sleeping mat, his limbs outstretched, chest rising slowly in serene breaths. And he looks so handsome, with his eyes closed, long lashes resting atop his high cheekbones. Kissable lips partly open.
You don't miss how the tip of his tail languidly moves against his shin in a tired caress.
And through an eager smile, you ask, "Home already ?"
Neteyam's tail starts slapping against his leg with the sound of your voice, ears flicking. He doesn't stir or open his eyes, however.
“How did your lessons go ?”
Your only answer is a sigh. But you don't take it to heart.
Mindfully, you step over his body to reach the small table by his head. Excitedly depositing the basket on its surface and your bow reclined beside it, you turn to gawk at him.
"I spent the day with your mom and Tuk fishing for our meal." You start retelling your earlier activity. "It's been a while since I've seen them, I didn't realize how tall Tuk has grown-"
Your voice withers away from his lack of response.
All of your joints creek as they grind against one another, but you push through it and walk over to sit beside your mate. Neteyam’s eyes open with your motion, gaze settling upon your figure beside his. His appendages barely shift.
Upon closer inspection, you notice that the planes of his face are taut as if his entire existence is being weighted down by a figurative anchor. The lack of his usual smile and sharp eyes make up a bitter scene. It chips away at your heart.
What could have possibly happened during training to render your mate in such a state ?
"What is it ?" Your voice trembles a bit as you ask. It's not every day that you see your mate this dejected. Features twisted in a frown in clear affliction. You're so accustomed to seeing him so tranquil and collected. "Did something happen ?"
Neteyam opens his mouth but makes no sound. Only a strained sigh heaves through his lips as his eyes flutter closed again. And your heart trashes itself inside its confines.
Distressing images play out inside your mind-lips pulled over bared teeth, weapons drawn in the heat of the moment, insults spat over crude laughter. And Eywa. You see Neteyam's blood spilled on the training grounds.
You quickly scan his body for any possible wound, only to find none. With a sigh, you drop your head against his sturdy chest. Fingers gripping the edges of his cummerbund until its material stretch in your hold. The harsh thumps of your tail against the ground are the only sound inside the tent.
"Neteyam," You say in a small voice, tone barely above a whisper. "You're worrying me."
You have half a mind to brand out your knife from its sheath across your chest and march out of your home to strangle any piece of information out of anyone that can give it to you. If Neteyam isn't going to tell you what is the cause of his woe, someone else will.
A beat passes. He inhales deeply and your head rocks with the movement.
“I’m starting to think I’m not fit for the position of Olo'eyktan.”
“Nonsense."
"I mean it."
"And you're wrong."
The mere notion of Neteyam being nothing but the best possible clan leader he can be is insane. Doubting Neteyam’s potential would be doubting yourself. His decisions are your decisions, his battles are your battles, and his words are yours as well. You're as much part of his being as himself. Intertwined into his very existence. Eywa has designed you and Neteyam from the same soul.
To you, there are no doubts, no uncertainty, no hesitation regarding Neteyam's abilities. His leadership or his strength. You would trust him with your life as much as you would trust him with authority over your clan. Would bare your teeth, brand your knife and spill blood in his name. If he were to ask you. If he were to need it.
You lift your head from his chest. Hands sliding upwards to rest over his heart.
“Neteyam, listen to me." His eyelids lift, and his eyes stare straight into yours. "I can’t possibly fathom how heavy and troubling an Olo’eyktan’s duties are, but I know your father wouldn’t entrust them upon you if you weren’t capable of handling them."
His larger hands slip atop yours. His fingers grip yours in a tight lock as his ears flatten against the side of his head. Under your hand, his heartbeat picks up.
"You have a strong heart, yawntutsyìp. I trust you with my life, and so do your family and all those warriors who fight alongside you every day. There’s not a place on this planet any of us wouldn’t follow you to. Because you’re trusted. And loved and respected.”
You've never been one for flowery words. Never one for sweetened speech and gentle terms. You never learned how to be considerate of others' feelings, never have been taught how to comfort, how to pick up a broken person and pluck their shattered heart straight out of their chest, and to return it whole.
But you expect, hope that these are enough. Fervently, earnestly, sincerely. Because you have nothing else. And so you hope for the best.
There's a thin layer of tears in Neteyam's eyes. He probably sees that your eyes are the same.
“There will always be someone better or smarter, with innate leadership, people who are more capable and stronger and better at decision making." You begin speaking again. "But there will never be another you, or another me, and we’re going to spend the rest of our lives fighting to be the best leaders we can possibly be to our people. We’ve been entrusted with these responsibilities Neteyam, and there’s not much we can do about that, but I'll shoulder you through this if everything else fails you.”
Neteyam's nose twitches, breaths coming out short and raspy. You wiggle a hand out of his and caress his face with it. Fingers tracing his cheek and jaw, over the bruises and bumps, drawing abstract patterns over his warm skin.
A stray tear drops from his waterline, and you wipe it away before it can slide down to the side of his face. Your mate's chin creases up at your actions and you smooth it with a finger.
With a shaky voice, Neteyam whispers. "I don't want to let anyone down."
"And you won't."
His breathing is shaken by a hiccuping breath.
"I just-" Neteyam bites his lower lips, flickering his gaze elsewhere before back to yours.  “What if I can’t shoulder all these expectations ?”
And you smile. A watery, shaky, loving one.
“You’re still going to be Neteyam te Suli Tsyeyk’itan. Which is all we ever needed you to be.”
You lean forward and press a kiss on his forehead. "A treasured first son." A kiss over both eyelids. "An honorable warrior." Another kiss on his nose bridge. "A loving brother." And a final, lengthy kiss on his lips. "And the best mate Eywa could gift me with."
Neteyam's chest shakes with a weak laugh. And it sounds far prettier to your ears than any song, any story, any promise you've ever heard before. It makes the weight in your heart lessen. Lungs no longer hurting from holding your crying, instead, your breath fills them with life.
Leaning down, you press another kiss to his lips. Tasting the salt, the grim and the somber, and you swallow it down. You kiss him again, in a silent promise. No peril will befall him, or his heart, for as long as you'll live.
"There it is," you coo, drooping your chin on your bent knee. "That beautiful smile."
And said smile widens. A little crooked at the edges, but there. And you know that he's doing it for you. Those words he said, the worry, the fear, the insecurity, haunt him still. Their ghosts are present, clinging to his bones and weighing on his heart. But you've never been one to scare easily. You'll brave them all for him, as many times as needed.
One of his hands let go of its hold on yours atop his chest, to slide up your arms. He holds the side of your face with gentle fingers, anchoring you to the moment. A brief look flashes in his eyes, but it's much too brief for you to decipher.
You can go over this again another time. The day has been stressful enough for him.
His thumb strokes your cheekbone in slow circles. And his gaze wanders from your eyes to your lips. He tracks its movement when you poke it out to wet your lips.
“I love you,” he declares with a sigh.
It still amuses you how this has become second nature to you. Being in his presence, tracing the markings of his skin with the pad of your fingers, looking into his eyes, and being on the receiving end of his declarations of love. Nine-year-old you, who harbored a crush bigger than the sun, would never imagine one day sharing a home with the man of your dreams.
Neteyam has been the cause of your longing for as long as you can remember. Years have passed, so much has changed. But never him. No. Neteyam remains the only being private to your heart, as he was from the beginning.
The pad of his fingers tickles the back of your hand in a slow caress.
“You’re the best thing to ever happen to me, did I ever tell you that ?”
Stifling a giggle, you press your lips against the warm skin of his palm. Lips parting to taste the salt of his skin, and you inhale his scent. “A couple of times, I think.”
“That’s not enough. I’m an awful husband to you.”
Your body shakes with the force of your laugh. “You’re actually the worst.”
Neteyam gently guides your face to his, lips meeting yours in a searing kiss. Tongues and teeth meet in a lustful clash. And you think you could spend the last minutes of your life tasting his lips, have his mouth as your parting memory. Neteyam has always been an exceptional kisser, and your favorite taste has always been his lips.
Parting, you rest your forehead against his. Lips grazing each other with every movement of your breathing. He looks so much prettier from up close.
“I love you, too.”
Neteyam’s grin widens, “Thought you wouldn’t say it.” His voice still watery.
Your eyes roll in faux annoyance. “I’m sorry muntxatan, my mouth was a little occupied.”
He laughs, sharp fangs poking his lower lip. His eyes close momentarily during the action, but he soon opens them again.
A thought materializes in your head.
"We're going to be late for our meal."
"I don't care."
"You're not hungry ?"
"I'd rather it be just us for tonight." He pauses. "If you don't mind it, that is."
"I don't."
His company is more than enough for you. Who cares if your families are going to be upset if you don't show up tonight ? You surely don't.
You pat his chest lightly. "Start the fire then. There's plenty of fish for just us today."
"Yes, ma'am."
Home in the war.
(Spider x f!Reader)
Tumblr media
Spider has been talking sweet about a woman to Lo'ak, you were certain that he yearned for someone else.
Home in the War. | CH 2
Taking a stroll amongst the bioluminescent forest that becomes more breathtaking night was a way to make me feel at peace, especially at times like this - a war.
The Sky People have returned, worse. They have more weaponry and power, stronger than the last time. Bullets flying faster, more propellers in the sky, and dreamwalkers turned Na'vi - Avatars.
I have been trying to get my mind away from thinking about the war that has affected me and my friends, especially Spider, our bond is closer compared to others, we were polar opposites but we still magnetize one another - He was outgoing, loud, and cheerful. I have stayed in the lab for as long as I can remember, observant, and apparently "too behaved" according to Spider. I would be lying if I said I hadn't taken a liking to the boy,
he was practically my everything. Spider's smile could beat the shine of a thousand stars, Spider's eyes could emit light brighter than any fire in the world, Spider is the peace and home I find amongst all the havoc.
The memories of my friends and I have taken it's way into my mind, making a soft grin plastered to my face, it's peaceful.
"Yeah bro! She's literally so pretty as well!"
The state of tranquility has left and my heart basically falls to my feet, I could recognise that voice anywhere.
It feels like there's a crack forming in my heart, as fragile as glass.
"Bro, you're sappy as shit right now it's making me feel like my vomit went all the way up to my mouth." Lo'ak replied with a tone obviously laced with such sarcasm.
"Shut up! You're acting like you don't find her pretty too! I mean she's crazy smart, nice, and practically perfect, who wouldn't like her?!" Spider spat back with a louder voice.
The crack is imitating an earthquake's breaking ground.
"She's pretty alright, but there's no way I could like her the way you do, you're so all over her it's disgusting."
"She's fucking perfect.." He breathes out in a hushed tone, almost silent, laced with an entranced dreamy tone.
The glass shatters.
I fled the tree I was hiding from, gosh, what the hell was I thinking. I knew hiding and eavesdropping on my two best friends was wrong, yet I couldn't pull away from the conversation, curiosity really kills the cat.
A few days have passed since I heard the words exchanged from the two boys. Specifically distancing myself from the boy I had grown to desire - Afraid I would be annoying him, especially because I might get into the way of the girl he liked. I worked harder in the lab that I ever had. Stayed longer in the lab than I've ever been.
Me and Spider have only shared quick glances and longing looks, I wanted to talk to him, I had hoped he reciprocated the desire.
I had excused myself every time the Sully children had visited the lab, locking myself in farther areas in the lab, trying to get away from facing the cause of my shattered heart.
I was quite certain that the girl he was wondering his mind off was Kiri, I had seen the way they laughed with each other, looked at each other, and smiled at each other - Each time, I prayed that it was me in that position, I wanted to be the reason he laughs, why he looks in my direction, and I wanted to be the reason he reveals his toothy smile.
"Hey kid, you okay?" I had not noticed that Norm had made his way in my direction, a hand landing on my shoulder in a way of reassurance.
An uncomfortable aura had step foot into the conversation. I wanted to just disappear at the very moment, wanting to be left alone.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"It's not visible you're fine"
"No, please trust me, I am." I let out a dreaded breath, trying to get away from the bubbling conversation.
Norm sighs, he grabbed my chair that I am seated in that was once facing the studies I have conducted on my desk, now facing him.
"Listen kid, I want you to be comfortable with me, you've told me every single thing that has happened to you growing up, I care for you." He gives me a sad smile, I knew he was getting upset seeing me in a blue mood as well. I couldn't help but let the salty liquid build up in my irises.
I tackled the scientist that had fostered me growing up. "I just- I don't -" The tears and weeps couldn't be helped as I stood and cried in Norm's chest, his arms wrapping around my back in a way of comfort.
"Shh, you're going to be fine kid, as long as you have us here you can tell us everything, your feelings will be accepted no matter what, y'know," he sends reassuring rubs on my back in a sense of giving me the well needed comfort.
"It's Spider, and.. I like him, Norm, it's just that.. I heard Lo'ak and him having a conversation once about a girl, Spider just sounded so dazed by her, I just wish it was me." I confess, breath heavy and shaking trying to make up words to spill the feelings I felt to my father figure.
Norm lets out a chuckle "Oh [Y/N], if only you saw the way that kid looks at you."
"Huh?" I questioned quizzical with a confused expression.
"Believe me, I've watched the two of you hang out enough to see how he feels about you, it's so visible he's head over heels for you, kid!" Norm releases a breathy laugh.
My breath hitches in my throat, backing away from Norm and looking up at his face, I let out a few sniffles due to the tears.
"I think, I have to go for a moment Norm.. I need to think." Norm nods as he lets me go, watching me from a far.
Was I going insane trying to actually consider his words? There were multiple girls from the clan trying to obviously flirt with Spider, trying to compare hand sizes, asking him what it's like to be a human, trying to beautifully bat their eyelashes at him, it's sickening, not because of them obviously fawning over the guy I had grown to like, it's because he might reciprocate their wanting for him. They're tall, strong, and could probably fool everyone with their bubbly and sweet persona, while I am just a mere human, an awkward girl that prefers to be left alone and barely had any skills that the Omaticaya are searching for.
The girls were beautiful, El'tera was one of the healers under the lessons of Mo'at, Namari was one of the greatest hunters amongst the youth of the Omaticaya, Desina't was the most fierce dancer of the clan, often having young Na'vi boys locked their eyes on her.
Putting on my exopack as I left the lab, trudging once again to the familiar forest, back go where I had my mind fogged and heart practically getting squeezed.
I was close to a pond, not just any pond, one that held many memories. Memories of him.
"HEY [Y/N]! GET BACK HERE YOU SKXAWNG!" Spider yells, trying to chase after me as we played in the water, splashing each other in the process, getting water on our bodies. The wide land filled with trees only had the vibration of laughter in it's air.
"Catch me first, bitch! You can't keep up with me!" I cheered as I kept on sprinting in the water trying to get away from my crush. He even looked perfect when both of us were causing a wreck.
Once he was close enough to me, he grabbed my wrist, placing a close proximity between us, I glanced up to look at the beautiful boy,
He was already looking into my eyes first.
A twig snapped, the peaceful memory that had replayed in my mind faded, I get my knife that I mostly kept with myself when venturing into the forest, in case of any horror that I face.
Unfortunately, the cause of the noise I faced was worse than any horror I anticipated. The boy I had been going above and beyond for, trying avoid for almost a week.
"[Y/N], I finally found you." Spider stated in a serious tone, awfully knowing the thick tension between the two of them for the past few days.
"Hey Spider!" I quickly put on a cheery facade, acting like nothing has happened between us. Afraid he would only bring it up.
"Don't "Hey Spider!" me, [Y/N]! Why the hell were you avoiding me?!" And shit. He did bring it up.
"I don't know, I'm pretty busy, Spider, I have to study a lot." I replied, trying to keep my stance up, obviously not wanting to be having this conversation.
"That's such bullshit, [Y/N]! We were just hanging out a few days ago before you started to ignore me, why?!" His voice was laced with the poisonous venom of anger, voice almost cracking - wanting an explanation to erupt from me.
"I told you Spider! I'm busy! Why won't you believe me?! Don't you have a girlfriend to go talk with or something?! Go talk to her instead! I'm busy." I was getting teary eyed, quickly turning away from his face and trying to pack up the stuff I had brought with me to the forest, ready to go back to the lab.
"Girlfriend?! What the fuck are you talking about?!" He was puzzled, not knowing he apparently had a girlfriend until now.
"Huh.." I was just as confused as he was, turning back to face him, tears now gone as a baffled look was now replaced on my face.
"Why would you think I have a girlfriend, [Y/N]?" He breathly laughs, stunned at the assumption.
"Well, I thought you had chosen amongst El'tera, Namari, and Desina't, y'know. Those girls are really beautiful. You should try to go out with one of them! You still look good with them either way." I put on a cheery facade once again, trying to obviously get away from the conversation that was now calming down.
"None of them is the girl I like though." he states while taking a seat next to me.
"Oh, can you describe her to me? She must be very lovely." Looking in the other direction, I try not to let out another set of tears threatening to slip down my cheeks.
"Well, she is lovely, the loveliest of every woman here, her intelligence is unmatched, she's so fucking smart it's insane. Her personality can warm me up so fast, my heart can't help but go on a marathon when I'm around her, her eyes beat the glow of the bioluminescence in Pandora, her smile is like the a drug you'll keep looking for over and over again... She is the drug you'll keep looking for over and over again."
I turn to face him with a sad smile, a sinking feeling in my heart. Expecting him to be looking at the water with a longing gaze but,
He was already looking into my eyes first.
My heart rate increases, my brain feels like it's going numb, petals of roses practically blooming in it, the blood in my body circulating to my face faster than the speed of light, the shards of my heart rebuilding like it was never broken.
The memories we had on this pond had flooded back into my mind.
We were younger, lankier, louder, and more playful.
Yet on this very place, young and old, he still looked at me the same like before.
"You're driving me insane, [Y/N]." he grabs ahold of my hand, interlacing our fingers and stacks his free hand above our laced one.
"You are the only girl I would choose throughout this whole planet."
pairing: platonic!sully children x fem!reader, bestfriend!tsireya x fem!reader + a brief ao'nung appearance (can be read as gn)
summary: you are an ilu riding instructor in the Metkayina clan, looking forward to spending your one day off relaxing on your own. However, the arrival of some new Na'vi changes your plans - especially when your best friend is determined to get to know them
word count: 4.3k (this is the longest fic i've ever posted!)
warnings: none! there's some use of asshole and skxawng, but it's all completely platonic fluffy-ness! also, not completely proof read and the ending kinda sucks, as per usual
a/n: i'm so proud of this fic! i think it's one of the best things i've written. also, it's very self indulgent, i just want to be best friends with all of them 😭. i also plan on posting more metkayina!reader, i've got some stuff sitting in the drafts that i'm so excited to share with all of you. hope you like this one!
The warm glow of Pandora’s sun basked down on your face, your body pressed against your ilu, one leg hanging off the side of its body as you floated through the water along its back. Your eyes were shut softly as you drifted in and out of your thoughts, you felt truly at peace, nothing but yourself and the crystalline waters that rocked and swayed against you.
Without warning, there was a loud splash, followed by a shower of ocean water raining down on you. You gasped as you shot up from your equally as startled ilu, only to be met with the face of a familiar Metkayina girl. She had one of her hands covering her mouth to stifle her laughter, another hand helping her tread the water to stay afloat.
“Reya, you skxawng!” you hissed, playfully splashing water back at your best friend.
How foolish of you to think you could get a moment's silence.
She laughed at your reaction, which made you giggle with her too, but she quickly beckoned both of you to fall into silence. “You are needed,” she informed you, a playful grin still present on her face.
A low groan escaped you, “no, today is my day off.”
You along with Tsireya were instructors of the Awa’atlu village for the younger children. She was a free-diving instructor, meanwhile you were an ilu riding instructor. The both of you had been inseparable since birth as your fathers were close friends, and both of you had decided at a young age that no matter what you did, you’d do it together.
Tsireya tsked, shaking her head playfully, “sorry, but there has been a change of plans, we have visitors.”
What? That’s when you noticed the presence of four other Na’vi children swimming towards you and Tsireya. They looked to be around your age, but they were definitely not from Awa’atlu, or any of the Metkayina clans at all for that matter.
While you couldn’t tell their exact ages, the one who seemed to be the oldest boy introduced himself first. “Kaltxì,” He said, with a small wave.
You waved back as Tsireya introduced them to you. "This is Neteyam," she said, motioning to the boy who had waved at you, then to the one next to him, "this is Lo'ak," then to the eldest and youngest girls, "and this is Kiri and Tuk”.
“Kaltxì,” you greeted back at them. “You.. are forest Na’vi?” you questioned, noting their darker, more blue skin and their thin arms and tails.
“Yeah, no shit.” Lo’ak scoffed, a too-confident smirk resting on his face.
You rolled your eyes at him, but Neteyam whacked the back of his brother's head before you could make a witty comeback. "Use your manners," he chastised. Kiri rolled her eyes at her brothers before silently apologising to you; you laughed it off and motioned for her not to worry.
Tsireya giggled at the brother’s antics and smiled shyly at Lo’ak, which was much unlike her - usually if one of her own brother’s friends had said something stupid and ignorant like that she’d groan and swim off.
You brushed it off for now, continuing your conversation, “If you are forest Na’vi, why are you here?”
“They seek uturu,” Tsireya informed you, “their father is Toruk Makto.”
Oh, you tried to suppress your surprise at the statement but you couldn’t help yourself. Almost all Na’vi children of your age grew up listening to the stories of Toruk Makto, how he had eradicated the sky people from Pandora all those years ago, leading the Na’vi to great victory.
You snapped yourself out of your thoughts and back into the current moment, you didn’t want to keep these newcomers waiting. “So, you want help learning how to ride ilu?” you asked, sliding off your own gorgeous ilu and running your hands along it’s back.
They all nodded.
“Okay then. Come, we don’t want to waste time.”
The six of you had gathered along the shallow banks of the Awa’atlu village, and somehow in the time between when you had gone to gather some ilu saddles and returned, Kiri had disappeared. The boys had told you not to worry, and that she had only gone off to explore the reef.
A small crowd of Ao’nung’s friends had also seemed to gather around to watch the Sully children ride their first ilu.
You rested the saddles down on a sandy bank, before wading into the water where the ilu were tossing and turning as they played with each other.
“These here are the ilu,” you told them as one swam past and brushed against your leg. “They are playful, but not hard to tame. If you want to live here, you must learn to ride them.”
The same ilu swam back around to greet you, affectionately rubbing its head against you to earn your attention. You gave the ilu a soft pat, before turning back to the Sully children. Lo’ak seemed to already be warming up to one of the more affectionate ilu, and you could tell the young Tuk was eager to get in the water and away from where she was resting on Neteyam’s hip. You had already found yourself becoming fond of the young Omaticaya girl, she was both incredibly endearing and knowledgeable.
“Come, Neteyam,” you beckoned for both him and Tuk to follow you.
You then turned to Lo’ak before saying, "Lo'ak, Tsireya will instruct you." Out of the corner of your eye, you spotted Tsireya trying her hardest to suppress a giddy smile. You weren't oblivious to her rapidly blossoming crush, as much as she probably hoped you were. You had always known Reya to be one to fall fast.
Neteyam set Tuk down next to him before wading through the water after you, following you a bit further away from where Tsireya was with Lo’ak. “I apologise for my brother,” he said, for probably the fifth time already.
“You are very good at apologising,” you teased him, as you called for an ilu. “But please, do not be sorry - you should see what I have to put up with from Ao’nung.”
He let out a breathy laugh as his hand skimmed across the ilu’s skin. Tuk was not far behind him, and when she finally caught up, you helped her sit on a rocky outcrop above the water.
“The ilu are our friends,” you told them, as you fastened a saddle around the ilu, it chirped playfully at your touch, as if it was being tickled. Tuk laughed in delight at the sound.
You reached for Neteyam’s hand, placing it onto the saddle’s harness. “Hold here,” you told him, but before he could even get on the ilu you noticed that Tsireya was already getting Lo’ak to make the bond.
“Wait,” you paused, pointing to where Lo’ak and Tsireya were, “we have to see this.”
You waded back around the ilu until you had a clear view of the group. You watched as Lo’ak took a deep breath, and before another word could be spoken, he was off. You watched his shadow from above the water’s surface, and you could already tell that it wasn’t going to end well for him. Alas, you were right. Mere seconds later, Lo’ak was sent tumbling off his ilu and the bond was broken.
He resurfaced above the water with a gasp, wiping the water out of his eyes with his hands. Ao’nung and his friends break into a fit of laughter at the sight, “he is like a fish out of water! - except he is in the water.”
You rolled your eyes as hard as you could possibly will yourself, you would never understand why so many of the Metkayina girls were obsessed with him. Ao’nung was nothing short of an asshole and his jokes weren’t even funny.
Tsireya chuckled softly as Lo’ak stood up and walked back towards them. Meanwhile, Neteyam did not hold back his loud laugh. “You okay, baby bro?” he called out to his younger brother, hands cupping his mouth like a megaphone to make sure that Lo’ak could hear. Lo’ak didn’t even spare his brother a second glance before he flipped him off, which made you burst out into laughter.
“You two are too mean to each other,” Tuk huffed, crossing her arms as kicked her feet softly in the air.
You turned back to the ilu and shook your head, a warm smile still on your face. “Come Neteyam, it is your turn.”
Neteyam mounted the ilu again, placing one hand on the harness where you had told him to before, as you handed him the ilu’s queue so he could make the bond. “Feel the bond, Neteyam,” you said as he reached behind his back to pull out his braid, “when you are bonded remember you are one being. Feel the ilu’s heartbeat, it’s breathing. Trust it completely.”
The boy nodded his head as he took the ilu’s queue from your hand and attached it to his own. Neteyam seized up a little when the ilu went rigid underneath him. “Relax,” you reminded him, and as he did, so did the ilu.
Lo’ak, Tsireya and Ao’nung’s group of friends were making their way towards you and Neteyam, ready to watch the second brother try his hand at ilu riding.
“Trust the bond,” you reminded him as you swam backwards slowly until you were next to the rocky outcrop where Tuk was sitting. Neteyam nodded once at you, before he took a large breath - and he was off. The ilu dove right into the water, you ducked down so your face was submerged to get a better look. Tsireya, Tuk and the other boys did the same.
You couldn’t believe it. Neteyam seemed to be an absolute natural. While he still looked like he was getting thrown around when the ilu cut sharp corners, he was managing to hang on quite well. When Neteyam broke through the water, you resurfaced along with the others.
“You did it!” you shouted, “that was amazing!”
Neteyam was wearing a million-dollar-smile, clearly very proud of himself, even Tuk was clapping and cheering for him.
“Nice one big bro,” Lo’ak congratulate as Neteyam rode the ilu until he was closer to their group, “you can now add ilu riding to the list of things you are perfect at.”
You snorted, “I was wondering when the witty comment would hit.” and for the first time since you had met him, you saw Lo’ak smile properly, a big wide grin on his face. It suited him.
Neteyam just rolled his eyes playfully. “No need to be jealous, little one.” He mocked, messing up his brother’s hair as he said it.
“Don’t worry Lo’ak, with my help you’ll be an ilu riding prodigy in no time.” You declared proudly, “I think Tsireya should stick to her breathing exercises.”
Your best friend scoffed at your antics, “my way of teaching is just different from yours!”
“Yes, sister,” Ao’nung starts, “and clearly one is better than the other.”
The Metkayina boys started laughing wildly, and it didn’t take much for their laughs to turn contagious. Even Tsireya couldn’t help but chuckle. Okay, maybe sometimes Ao’nung was funny.
Once you had managed to control your own laughter and level your breathing, you were reminded that Tuk still hadn’t had her turn at riding the ilu. “Okay I think it’s Tuk’s turn,” you said, turning to the young Omaticaya girl who now adorned a face of pure excitement.
You bent your knees as you motioned for her to hop on your back, “come Tuk, I want to show you something.” Tuk quickly clambered onto your back, wrapping her arms around your shoulders as you carried her to where the marui pods hung between the large mangrove roots hovered above the ocean. You felt Tsireya’s presence not far behind you, and when you turned to face your friend, you also caught sight of Lo’ak remounting an ilu behind her, accompanied by his brother who was too proud to get off on his own. The two of them dove into the water together, and it occurred to you that they were trying to have a race.
Finally, you reached the bouncy walkways that connected the marui together. You set Tuk down in the water as you reached for a tall rattan basket that was sitting on the walkway. Its width was decorated in intricate wave-like designs. As soon as you took the basket off the walkway and passed it back to Tsireya, two ilu had already come to join you, chirping and clicking joyfully at the familiar scent that wafted from the basket.
Tsireya broke into a smile when a particularly playful ilu tried nudging the basket out of her grip. She clicked her tongue before shaking her head, “not yet.”
You called for Tuk to come closer and join you as Tsireya handed her a small fish from inside the basket. “Give it to the ilu,” you told Tuk. The Omaticaya girl didn’t even hesitate as she dropped the fish in the ilu’s waiting mouth, it snapped up and swallowed the fish quickly. Tuk laughed joyfully, before patting the ilu’s head and cupping its face. “I love her already!” she squealed, making both you and Tsireya smile widely.
“Would you like to ride her?” asked Tsireya.
Tuk nodded her head vigorously, “yes!”
“I think you should leave the ilu instructing to me,” you joked as you helped Tuk onto the ilu. Tsireya scoffed and shoved your shoulder playfully making you smile again for what felt like the thousandth time that day.
Tuk took the ilu’s queue that you passed to her, quickly attaching it to her own. Her excitement was evident on her face as she wasted no time in making the bond. She held on tightly to the ilu’s harness, the same way you had taught Neteyam to. Tuk was observant, you noted.
You and Tsireya both called your ilu quickly, mounting them before the three of you dove into the crystalline waters. Tsireya took the lead as she manoeuvred her ilu through the reef, leading both you and Tuk through underwater archways and forests of coral. You yourself were no stranger to these parts of the ocean, but the wide-eyed awe that you saw on Tuk’s face filled you with warmth. It reminded you of the first time you had ever rode your own ilu with Tsireya, discovering the reef on your own, both of you with eyes sparkling full of wonder.
The three of you swam through a particularly large pod of small fish which dispersed quickly as you shot through not far behind Tsireya. Tuk was starting to catch up as well, and when you turned your head to face her, you noticed another presence alongside her. It was the other Sully daughter - Kiri. She was gracefully riding an ilu next to her younger sister, a gorgeous, genuine smile stretching across her face as she took in their surroundings. You’d never get tired of seeing that face of pure wonder and awe.
It had been a few hours of exploring the reef, practising ilu riding and various breathing exercises. You were utterly exhausted, and you could tell the Sully children were feeling the same thing. Tuk was passed out on Kiri’s lap, Tsireya and you sat side by side next to them as you talked to Neteyam and Lo’ak.
Apparently during the boy’s race, Lo’ak had fallen off another four times. At least that’s what Neteyam had told you - grinning proudly at the fact that he had beaten Lo’ak all those four times. Lo’ak rolled his eyes lazily.
“You might be able to beat Lo’ak,” you told Neteyam, “but you wouldn’t even stand a chance against a Metkayina baby.”
Lo’ak grinned and laughed loudly at your remark, Tsireya joining in with a quiet giggle. Neteyam turned a shade darker at the teasing, shaking his head.
“Don’t worry Lo’ak,” you reassured him, “you’ll be a natural in no time.”
He grinned even wider at what you said.
The sun was starting to set in the sky, casting a dusty purple glow over the water, meaning it would soon be time for the evening meal. It was a custom of your clan to eat your midday and evening meals. It was a time to connect and share stories with one another.
Ao’nung and his friends had disappeared to the communal eating pod a while earlier to ‘help’. But you and Tsireya knew damn well they just wanted to get early seats.
You looked back at the beginning of this day, when all you had planned was to laze around and enjoy your single day off from teaching the Metkayina kids. But now, you were more than glad that you had agreed to help, because although these forest Na’vi were strange - they were also fun. You hadn’t smiled this much or laughed this loud in a very long time, and you think Tsireya would agree.
“We should probably get going,” said Tsireya, breaking away from the conversation she was having with Kiri. “Dinner will be ready soon.”
Neteyam’s stomach growled loudly at the mention of food, “sorry,” he apologised, grinning sheepishly as he scratched the back of his head. Your stomach was starting to ache from mild hunger too, the amount of physical exertion that you had endured today left your entire body feeling more sore than usual.
You pushed yourself off the sandy beach, brushing the sand off your hand.
 Kiri tried to wake Tuk up from her nap, but the poor girl was still tired, refusing to get off her sister’s lap. Neteyam - being the perfect big brother he is - lifted Tuk off Kiri’s lap and carried her on his back, her cheek resting on his shoulder as she continued to snore softly in her sleep.
It was hard not to admit how cute they were.
After you helped Kiri up, you turned to where Tsireya should’ve been standing behind you, but she was nowhere to be seen. Your ears perked in confusion until you caught sight of Neteyam pointing ahead, “the love birds are far gone” he said, a teasing lilt to his voice.
Tsireya was already walking across the beach with Lo’ak towards the marui. Both of them were chatting enthusiastically with each other which made you grin widely, a quiet chuckle falling from your lips - you were totally going to tease Tsireya about this later.
“Hey!” Kiri beamed as she nudged your forearm with her own, “I'll race you there!”
You turned to Neteyam who still had Tuk resting peacefully on his back, you didn’t want to leave him alone with her thinking that he’d likely not participate to avoid waking Tuk from her nap. But your thoughts were interrupted quickly as he piped up, a knowing grin on his face. “Don’t go easy on me just because I’m carrying extra weight,” he said, a challenging tone to pair with his confident demeanour, “I could still beat both of you with ease.”
You quirk your eyebrow at him as you stifle your laugh, “okay, fine then. You’re both on!”
Kiri grins widely, and before you can even say “go!” she’s off, laughing wildly as she races across the sandy beach. Shaking your head, you run after her, determined not to let Neteyam come close to beating you.
The cold evening ocean water nipped at your ankles as your feet hit the wet sand. The sound of your laughter echoing through the beach as you sped past Tsireya and Lo’ak - the former giving you a quizzical expression at your antics, and the latter getting shoved forward by Kiri as she ran past him.
“You two are slow,” Kiri voiced dramatically, sounding as if she found them boring.
Lo’ak seemed to have taken her words personally, shoving her back as he skipped forward, “I’m not going to let you win, Kiri!” The Omaticaya boy sped past both of you quickly, and you had to admit. - Lo’ak was fast.
You couldn’t even contain your laughter, the adrenaline coursing through your body from the excitement of having so much fun, but your competitive nature would always get the better of you. There was no way you’d let the Sully children beat you.
“I win!” you beam, looking behind you to see your friends who were panting in exhaustion. Tsireya looked like she was physically unable to walk another step, hands braced on her knees as she sucked in deep breaths.
Kiri had given up on running, and was now jogging slowly as she approached you. Her lips were pulled up in a smile as she rolled her eyes at you playfully. “you cheated,” she declared, which made you just snicker to yourself.
Sure, you might have cheated a little bit to win the race, but who could blame you?  The Omaticaya children were quick on their feet and you weren’t about to let them win on your home turf. And anyways, even if they were fast, their feet were still not used to running swiftly on the sand, and their tails just made it so much easier to throw them off balance.
Lo’ak and Neteyam were also catching up, Lo’ak had a look of betrayal on his face, meanwhile Neteyam couldn’t stop grinning. He still had Tuk resting on his back, but now she looked slightly disgruntled, she had definitely been woken up from all the running.
“I can’t believe you pulled my tail!” Lo’ak bursted, giving you an accusatory look that said I’ll get you back.
You laugh at his tone while Tsireya leads your group further into the dining hall.
“Maybe next time don’t flick it around so much,” you shoot back, poking his upper arm playfully, “it’s as if you were taunting me.”
He only rolls his eyes back at you. Neteyam sets Tuk down, she rubs her eyes in an attempt to wake herself up more, her gaze wanders around the large eating hall. It’s a big open hut, with no walls but a canopy cover. The entire village gathers here to eat together, sharing the stories of their eventful days. The Metkayina use gorgeous plates made of large round shells. Delicate carvings decorate the outside of the shell plates. Tsireya hands one out to each of you as she begins serving the food out. A variety of diversely cooked fish is sitting on large shell platters, accompanied by a variety of Pandoran vegetables that were native to this part of the world. The aroma of the food makes your mouth water.
Once all of you have got your food, you sit together on the large woven mats and start eating your meals.
Your gaze drifts around the eating hall, Ronal and Tonowari - who were basically your second parents - were sitting together, eating with the Sully children's parents. Jake seemed to be making a great effort to get to know both the Olo’eyktan and Tsahik, but Neytiri seemed not as invested, she looked almost bored as she picked at the fish on her plate. Ronal seemed to be mirroring her expressions.
However, your meal with your new friends held a starkly different energy altogether. You joked, and laughed, and told stories of your childhood. Kiri went as far as to tell you and Tsireya of a time when Neteyam and Lo’ak had a very serious prank war that almost resulted in them burning down a tree. When Tsireya tried to question why, all you got out of them was a “don’t ask.”
As the bustle in the eating hall died down, and the stars started to decorate the night sky, you and your new group of friends made your way through the village. Tuk bounced along the walkways as you talked to Kiri. You had grown incredibly fond of her, she was like a sister you never had. Her sense of humour never failed to make you double over in laughter, and she was packed full of knowledge and interesting facts. You admired the fact that she was so open to learning new things.
Her eyes lit up as they looked out in the ocean, a small gasp falling from her lips as she noticed the bioluminescent glow emitting from the reef. Gorgeous purples and blues illuminating the ocean’s surface from below, you smiled too at her pure awe.
“It’s gorgeous isn’t it?” you said.
She smiled, “it’s much more than that.”
You heard the unanimous ‘woah’s’ and ‘wow’s’ from the other Sully kids at the sight, their reactions made you smile even wider.
Teaching these completely unknowing Omaticaya children of your own home, made you fall in love with it all over again. You were reminded of how much you loved your way of life, being surrounded by the ocean and the sand and the salty sea breeze at all times was something you could never give up.
As you waved your new friends farewell, watching them disappear into their marui for the night, you couldn’t help but be excited for what the next few months with them would hold. A part of you was sure that you’d learn just as much from them as they would from you…
A/n: Adult Lo'ak & Neteyam done by the one and only @cinetrix2 💕
Tumblr media
It was a long day for the both of you, with Lo'ak coming back from a tedious hunt while you were out-- essentially running a bunch of errands for Max with a grocery list of plant samples he wanted you to go find. You hadn't had any time to stop and see Lo'ak as it was running late and Max needed help labeling and taking stock of said samples. Unable to properly fit in the lab in your avatar, you decide to lay her down for the night in your marui and break the connection, opening your eyes to find yourself in your human form, lying on your back in a soft-glowing link bay.
You eagerly got to work on the samples alongside Max, hoping to get it all done before the day got too late. Day quickly turned to night and you heard the Omatikaya going about their evening outside the lab, preparing and then partaking in their communal feast. It disheartened you to know that you already missed dinner with Lo'ak, knowing that by the time you were finally done with your work, he'd likely be so tired and cuddling your unconscious avatar form. Normally, you don't sleep in your avatar, no matter how much Lo'ak begs you. It's easier to refuse him when he's away from the clan and you have the marui to yourself, but other times, well, he's very persuasive. But Max and even Norm have warned you time and time again that you shouldn't make that a habit and it's required of you to return to your human body at night, or else it'll eventually be just a husk-- a shell of your former self. So far, you've been pretty stern with Lo'ak about this and only gave into him a few very rare times, which usually start with him wanting to take you somewhere private at night so the two of you could be alone. Usually, that then leads to several rounds of orgasms that make you too tired, and oh no, suddenly you can't break your link and you're forced to sleep soundly on Lo'ak's chest. What a shame.
Sleeping beside him, especially in your avatar, is like a reward of its own, and it's so comforting. Sleeping beside him as a human is nice, sure, but with your avatar, you don't have glass obstructing your view or any kisses Lo'ak might want to sneak you. Tonight, after not seeing him all day, was something you really needed.
As much as you knew that linking for long periods of time could be harmful to your human body, you really wanted to be able to sleep alongside your mate tonight. So, with quick feet, you return to your link bay and lie down, barely letting the lid close over you before closing your eyes and forcing your mind to relax. The link connected successfully, and you were whisked away to your avatar, led by a light at the end of that familiar tunnel.
Waking up was slow, your avatar's eyes too heavy to open just yet, but a different sensation you were unfamiliar with waking up was happening between your legs. A brutal force that was slowly going faster, shoving its way into your gummy, and surprisingly wet pussy, feeling your thighs sticky with clear liquid. Your ears finally hear through the thick fog of your mind, catching the sounds of grunts, in sync with the loud sound of skin slapping together. One brutal push had your body moving up the mat an inch, and it felt as though it pierced the roof of your cervix, causing a quiet whimper to leave your lips. Now you are finally aware of a hot, growing coil, tightening at the bottom of your stomach, threatening to snap at any moment. There was no build-up or foreplay involved for you, just immediately waking to your orgasm ready to flood your entire system.
You gasp as the coil snaps and you leak around the thick cock shoving its way inside of you, some of your juices even splashing on both yours and the abdomen nestled between your legs every time they thrust in and out, prolonging your climax and making your thighs shake around what you assumed was hips. Still bullying their way into your body even as your orgasm finally cools down, you're more aware of how hard and twitchy the cock inside you felt, hitting your sweet spot each time and punching a gasp from your lungs with each thrust.
Finally opening your eyes, you look around and find your mate sitting off to the side, leaning against the foundation of your shared marui while his fist slowly runs up and down his hard, leaking dick, the tip tinged a dull purple color, indicating oversensitivity. Your lips are dry as you try to form words, "Lo... Lo'ak?"
"Hey, mamas," he grins wolfishly, his hand's pace on his cock remaining the same speed as he casually spoke to you, "I hope you don't mind, but I thought Neteyam could spend the night."
Between your orgasm and your sleepy mind, everything was still foggy, and it took a moment before you finally processed his words. Something clicked inside your head when you finally registered that Lo'ak wasn't the one who made you cum, sitting much too far away. Lo'ak wasn't the one currently shoving his way inside your body like he wanted to permanently blend your bodies together into one being. When you turn your head to look up at whoever is currently above you, rearranging your guts, you're met with none other than your mate's older brother. And despite the sweat and crease on his brow, Neteyam has a brash smile etched on his lips when your eyes meet.
"Kaltxì," he huffs out, the word rushed and followed by a rough grunt that escapes his mouth when his hips press flush against yours, your wet walls still occasionally pulsing around his cock in a welcoming embrace, making him dizzy with euphoria.
Your head was spiraling with so many questions, unable to voice them as Neteyam fucks you dumb, too cock drunk to form the words. Over the past year, you would periodically wake in your avatar form, sore and leaking with whatever mess Lo'ak left in between your legs, and when you eventually confront him about it, you both came to the agreement that he's more than welcome to use your avatar for whatever pleasure he has while you're not linked to it... just as long as he makes it up to you later on. You want a little bit of fun of your own, after all.
Lo'ak shuffles closer to you, his cock forgotten for the moment as he reaches you and plants quick and warm kisses all over your face before moving to whisper in your ear, "I wanted to show him all the... advantages of having a dreamwalker as my mate."
Even with Lo'ak's words currently distracting you, you couldn't ignore the way your body slowly began to grow warm and tight again, Neteyam angling his hips and hitting your sweet spot each time so that you were ready for another climax. You gasp at the sensation, reaching up to hang onto something, which ends up being the back of Lo'ak's neck.
Your mate grins before kissing your ear, "I'm so proud of you, mamas. You managed to take my cock before taking Neteyam's and waking up."
That explains why your body felt so sore and sticky, feeling more full than you would imagine with just Neteyam inside you. It felt as though you had run a marathon, but there were no physical signs of Lo'ak on your body until your free hand reached up and grazed his bite scar on your neck. There's a fresh bruise forming over the mate mark, confirming Lo'ak's lewd words.
Neteyam groaned and plunged deep and frantic into you when he watched the dawning realization cross your features. You make an identical sound, the thought of the older Sully brother currently fucking both his cock and Lo'ak's seed further into your womb sending you into a frenzy of soft moans, throwing your head back and arching up into Neteyam's thrusts.
"Great Mother," Neteyam hissed, "She just gripped me tighter."
"Aw, do you like that, baby?" Lo'ak purs into your ear, his lips grazing the shell of it, making it twitch, "Do you like it when I use your holes while you're unconscious? Or do you like it when I invite someone over to use your body without your knowledge?"
You groan loudly as your answer, and the sound spurs Neteyam to reach down and lightly pinch your already abused clit to the same rhythm of his thrusts. Lo'ak moves one of his hands to fondle one of your exposed breasts, and you faintly note that you are completely naked, remembering you had fallen asleep wearing a worn-out RDA shirt meant for avatars. Out of the corner of your eye, you can see that same shirt torn to pieces on the floor a few feet from your head.
Lo'ak pinches your nipple, watching it harden before moving to the other one to do the same thing. It leaves you moaning and writhing, practically impaling yourself on Neteyam's cock, your hips rising to meet his own thrusts, much to his delight. His tail unconsciously curls around your thigh, coiling tighter and tighter with each sound you make. Meanwhile, Lo'ak's tail had found your ankle and used it to keep you spread for his brother while he took one of your nipples in his mouth and the other in his hand, switching once or twice to lather both of your hardened buds in his saliva.
"Lo'ak, please..." you whine, feeling your body begin to tighten with anticipation. Neteyam felt light-headed with how hard you were gripping his length. He can barely even pull out you were so tight, holding his cock captive in your dark, wet cavern.
"What is it, mamas?" Lo'ak asks innocently, though one look at his grinning smile, and you know it was just a facade.
"N-Need to cum," you stammer.
"Hm," his yellow eyes twinkle with mischief, leaning down to mutter his reply into your lips, "That's not up to me, baby. Neteyam is taking your pleasure right now. Only he gets to decide if you cum again or not."
He takes advantage of your mouth opening in shock, spitting on your tongue, forcing you to inhale a soft gasp of surprise. His eyes dart back up to meet yours and you can't help the moan that escapes you at the heat you see in his gaze. Lo'ak leans down to kiss your lips in a dirty, sensual display of affection, exploring your mouth with his tongue while purring into your lips, your body proven affected by his actions as you unexpectedly slam your hips against Neteyam's.
The older brother's hand quickly grabs a hold of your waist to stop your movements, spewing out a song of Na'vi curses as he suddenly stops thrusting. He huffs and wheezes, any more movement from you would've led to him cumming too fast, let alone inside your pussy, which wasn't on his agenda, no matter how tempting it was. As pussy drunk as he was in this moment, he still had some sliver of respect for his brother and his wishes. Neteyam could fuck you as much as he wanted tonight, but he wasn't allowed to finish inside you.
"Stay still, yawne," Neteyam whispers breathlessly, trying to think of unpleasant things to keep himself from cumming. A small burst of confidence takes over as a smirk begins to play on his lips as his fingers slow down over your clit, "Or you won't get to cum at all."
He looks down at you, though it was hard to see your eyes with Lo'ak in the way, making out with you as your lips make vulgar sounds as they slide together, strings of saliva connecting you to your mate every time the need for air takes over. Neteyam forces himself to look away, the sight of your kiss-bitten lips, so swollen and wet, made his cock twitch inside of you.
Lo'ak gasps quietly for air before leaning down to kiss your cheek and whisper in your ear, "Go on, baby. I want you to. You can beg for my brother, it's okay... We used to share a lot of things growing up. This is hardly any different. So go ahead. Beg for Neteyam to let you cum. I don't mind."
You whimper as you feel Lo'ak's hot breath fan over the side of your neck, squeezing your eyes shut as your thighs clench around Neteyam's waist. With your mate's permission, you don't waste time opening your mouth and shamelessly begging, "Please, Neteyam. Please make me cum! Oh, fuck--"
The whine that escapes you will haunt you later with a less foggy head, but it's the only thing you could do in protest when you feel Neteyam completely slide out of your pussy, tip and all. He waits until you finally open your pretty eyes to look up at him, then he smiles.
"There you are. Keep your eyes on me, yawne, and I'll let you cum."
You nod obediently, parting your lips to moan as Neteyam gently smacks his tip over your clit and then easily slips between your wet folds. It's so hard to keep your eyes open when his cock slowly and painstakingly slides into you, shoving the tip deep inside until he's sure he's pressing against your sweet spot, then pulls out and repeats the same motion, as slowly as before.
Lo'ak moves out of your space and sits back on his feet, taking his aching cock back in hand and jerking off to the same motions Neteyam makes when entering your pussy, the younger Sully biting his lip when the motion only relieved a small bit of the torture he put himself through by trying to cum again after already doing so inside you. Lo'ak watches your face as you're brought back over the edge of ecstasy, eyelashes fluttering, cheeks flushing, and swollen mouth open agape. You keep your eyes on Neteyam, but you can see Lo'ak just in the corner of your peripheral and you know what he's doing. Without warning, you reach a hand out to wrap around Lo'ak's cock and his hips jolt as if he'd been shocked.
"Shit-!" Lo'ak gasped as you continued to pump his dick, up and down at the same pace as Neteyam's thrusts. Your mate moans loudly, thrusting into your hand to try and urge you to go faster, "That's it, baby... don't stop."
You obey, even going a little faster and smiling between moans when Lo'ak starts to whimper, just the way you like him, knowing he was close. His whimpers are quickly forgotten, even if only for a moment, when Neteyam starts to thrust harder, forcing your eyes to roll back as you feel your body burning up from the inside out, the coil unbearably tight as your toes curl.
Neteyam's hips stop, flush against yours as he growls, "Eyes."
Your gaze immediately snaps back to him, and he chuckles under his breath, "Good girl."
His fingers move side to side against your clit, then in circles. He repeats this pattern when he noticed the way your pussy clenches around his cock, a deep growl vibrating from the back of his throat at the sensation. He can't keep edging himself like this or else he'll really lose control and then he won't pull out, no matter how much he knows he has to. So, he decides not to torture you for long as he finally nods.
"Now, yawne. You can cum."
Lo'ak whines at the feel of your hand squeezing him a little tighter, his precum leaking down your knuckles, "That's it, baby, you heard him. Cum for us, mamas, that's it. Cum on Neteyam's cock. Show him what you can do."
A long series of moans and soft screams tumble from your mouth as you throw your head back and chase after your high. Slamming your hips down on Neteyam's cock and using him, you make sure he hits your sweet spot every time before your coil snaps and your liquid spews everywhere, your whole body twitching as your juices leak out from around Neteyam's cock and splashes over his abs and bioluminescent freckles, slowly dripping down his delicious blue skin.
You're still cumming when Lo'ak follows suit, gently batting your hand away so he could take his cock in hand and finish over your tits, moaning and whimpering unapologetically as his cum splatters over your chest, pearly white droplets sliding over your nipples and down the curves of your breasts. Lo'ak gasps and groans at the sight, so whiny and desperate, continuously fisting his cock and painfully holding the tip so he squeezes out every last drop onto your tits.
Neteyam's less vocal than his brother, but you still manage to catch his climax as well, feeling not one but two different spurts of cum on your body, mixed with Lo'ak's loud whines and a soft growl you were less familiar with. As you're coming down from your high, you peer down between your legs to see Neteyam gripping tightly onto his cock, slowly softening beneath his fingertips as long strings of his seed dance and paint over your stomach, collecting in your belly button. Looking up, Neteyam's face is an absolute wreck, flushed in a darker shade of color, the color of his eyes now reverting to small, tiny rings, shrouded with lust. He's clenching his teeth, keeping himself quiet, much to your disappointment, but you don't complain since he has yet to stop circling your clit, drawing out the last of your orgasm until it becomes too sensitive. Once you whine in discomfort, he immediately stops his movements.
The marui is filled with huffing and panting, all three of you clawing for air as your bodies cool down, turning into jello and unable to properly form words yet. You have to lick your lips as they've dried, but Lo'ak takes it a step further and kisses you, slowly, passionately, and less desperate. While kissing Lo'ak you feel Neteyam's hands in the crook of your knees, untangling them from around his waist and setting them on the floor while his body heat vanishes from your skin. You're about to whine into Lo'ak's mouth in protest when a warm, wet cloth meets your raw and fluttering pussy, gently cleaning you of any fluids before moving onto your stomach and breasts. You don't miss the way Neteyam kisses both of your knees as he works at cleaning you up, making your tail bat gently against the ground. Lo'ak softly groans into your lips before pulling away, his smile lopsided and boyish before he kisses your nose.
"You did so good for us, mamas. You've never woken up when I'm in the middle of fucking you before. Neteyam must feel awfully lucky."
Both you and Neteyam hum in response, but otherwise say nothing as your lust gives way to exhaustion. Lo'ak lays down beside you and wraps you in his arms, pressing your back against his front and kissing the base of your kuru, smiling to himself when your tail gently slaps his hip. Neteyam sighs and lays down on the other side of you, the two of you facing each other but at a more respectable distance, even though you both wish for him to move closer. You settle by holding his hand in yours while relaxing into Lo'ak's embrace, smiling to yourself over what just happened as you close your eyes to sleep.
While it's true that you've never connected to your avatar when Lo'ak was in the middle of using you, after tonight, you definitely need to be able to time this better for next time.
Pandora was the only place you'd ever called home, but it was a complex relationship. Despite being born on the planet, you didn't belong to its native people.
Instead, you were technically aligned with the Sky People—a group with a history of destroying hope and leaving chaos in their wake. For years, they'd traveled across space to set foot on this lush, alien world and decimate its resources.
You knew deep down that you didn't share their values or their vision for the future. You couldn't claim them as your own, not when you felt such a strong connection to the vibrant, interconnected ecosystem of Pandora.
But that didn't mean you were exempt from the judgement of others. In the eyes of many Na’vi, you were just another outsider—a demon, no less—who was profiting off the exploitation of their world.
As much as they may believe it, they couldn't be more mistaken. You may not possess the same physical form as the Na'vi, nor the ability to connect with the planet through Tsaheylu, but your heart beats in harmony with Pandora, and you feel a deep connection to its magnificent beauty and delicate balance like it was a part of you.
You understood why the Na'vi were hesitant to accept you. They had been betrayed by the sky people before, and their distrust of outsiders was understandable. It didn't make it any less difficult, however, to feel like you were constantly on the outside looking in.
You suspected that Spider shared your yearning for acceptance. He had changed his appearance, donning the blue paint and attire of the Na'vi, to look more like a native. But beneath the surface, he was still a human like you, with all the limitations and flaws that came with it.
It was difficult to keep up with him, your mind burdened by the fear of being scrutinized and evaluated by others. The weight of that anxiety was suffocating, making it hard for you to venture out and visit Hometree, the heart of the Omaticaya clan.
As a result, you only made the trip twice during your childhood, opting instead to spend most of your time with the Sully children and Spider in the surrounding forest.
Perhaps it was wrong of you to feel content with your current situation, quietly existing without the formal acceptance of the Na'vi. You didn't want to pressure them into welcoming you with open arms, but at the same time, you longed to be acknowledged and appreciated for who you are.
Spider's approach of hovering in between acceptance and rejection seemed tempting, but you knew it trying to follow in his pattern wouldn't be true to yourself. You wanted to be seen as you truly are, not as an imitation of someone else.
This makes you feel incredibly grateful for the Sully kids, as they have become like family to you. Though you don't believe that Eywa sees you, you know that the Sully kids see you for who you are and accept you as a part of their group. You feel a sense of belonging and comfort that you seek out in the world, and you know that they will always be by your side.
Spider, what’s not to love about him? Growing up, you came to know him as your brother not by blood. There were moments he was annoying, as brothers do but he can also be fiercely protective of you, sweet, and comforting when you need it most. You know that he always has your best interests at heart and will do anything for you.
Your sister from another species, Kiri, was literally your best friend. You did everything together, told each other everything. It was a little worrisome or scare to those from the outside, with how in sync you’re feelings are and the ability to when the others down and need some cheering to do. They just didn’t understand neither of you.
Little Tuk wasn’t so little anymore but she was still your very your own personal cheerleader. You remember learning the term after finding an old yearbook from someone left behind, and it seemed to fit her perfectly. She always roots for you at your accomplishments, and loves making things for you just because she felt like it. To you, she is the sweetest thing on the planet.
The mighty warrior, Neteyam, was a strict and protective man even with you. Though you may not be blood, he never gave you a reason to consider otherwise. You were extended family, who deserved just as much watchfulness and guidance as his own siblings and Spider.
But Lo’ak was a different case altogether. When growing up alongside him, you saw him like you did Spider and Neteyam, just a friendly face who you could count on to be there when you needed him. However, things changed once you hit puberty. Your feelings towards him began to shift, and you couldn't help but think of him constantly, wondering what he was up to and if he ever thought of you in the same way.
Your feelings for him were string, but you were always hesitant to act on them. You knew that the idea of two different species being together was frowned upon, and you feared the backlash that might come from confessing your love to him. Kiri may have found your feelings for Lo’ak cute, but you found them repulsive and frustrating, as they consumed your every thought.
Through your fears and doubts, you longed to tell Lo’ak how much he meant to you. You wanted him to know that you saw his hard work and effort when nobody else did, and that you loved everything about him, even his five fingers and eyebrow hair. Sometimes you couldn't help but wonder if he saw you in the same way, but you never dared to find out, fearing the worst.
When Lo’ak completed his final rite of passage, you realized that your chance to confess your feelings had come and gone. He was now old enough to find a mate, and even though he hadn't done so yet, you knew that it was only a matter of time.
You pushed your feelings aside, burying them deep within you in an attempt to move on and forget about what could have been—if only you weren’t so scared, filled to the brim with anxiety and self consciousness.
Nervously you fiddle with your fingers, trying to compose yourself as you watch Lo’ak playfully wrestle with Spider. Did he ever notice the way you looked at him, how your skin would heat up every time he touches you or how you couldn't stop smiling when he was next to you? You had been trying to move on from these feelings for months, but he had a hold on you that you couldn't shake off.
It felt like you were hooked, reeled in, and trapped by your feelings for him. The phrase "sink, line, and hooker" had become all too familiar to describe the pull he had on you. You had fallen for him hard, and it was frustrating because the only other human around your age was Spider. Moving on to him would just feel wrong, for so many reasons.
You’re so lost in thought when you feel a tap on your shoulder and turn to see Kiri kneeling there with a smile on her face. She rubs your shoulder gently and says, "Stay out of your head, everything will be okay." Her words provide a small comfort, but deep down, you know that this love for Lo'ak will continue to consume you until you find a way to move on.
You thank Kiri for her kind words, returning her smile before stealing another glance at the two boys. But you are caught off guard when you notice that they are already looking at you, and quickly avert their eyes when they realize you noticed.
You feel a pang of discomfort in your chest as you wonder what they found so amusing. Spider is snickering and pushing Lo'ak away from him, but their behavior only makes you feel worse.
You can't help but wonder if there is something on your face, or if they are laughing at something you said or did. Kiri doesn't say anything, leaving you to feel vulnerable and self-conscious.
You quickly turn away, blinking away a tear that has formed in your eye. You know that you are being overly sensitive, but the feeling of being laughed at and excluded by the two people closest to you hurts deeply. You feel like an outsider, like there is some secret joke about you that you are not in on. The feeling is overwhelming, and you can't shake it off.
You excuse yourself from Kiri and walk off deeper into the forest, heart pounding harder in your chest as you continue. The lush green surroundings no longer holds the calming effect they usually do.
Instead, your mind is consumed with thoughts of Lo’ak and how he must see you. Do you disgust him? Is he aware of the way you feel about him? The thought of being the laughing stock of your closest friends makes your stomach churn.
You try to shake the thought off, reminding yourself that Lo'ak has always been kind to you, and he's never given you any indication that he thinks less of you. Then the memory of Spider and Lo’ak’s laughter at your expense replay in your mind, making you feel even more self-conscious. The thought of being the subject of their amusement fills you with shame.
You hate that every time he glances your way or speaks to you, you overanalyze every word and gesture, trying to decipher if there's any hidden meaning behind them. Why couldn’t you be born in a normal world with people like you? Maybe then the heartbreak wouldn’t be so severe.
Your chest tightens and tears swell up in your eyes when you come to a stop and lean against a tree. You try closing your eyes and taking deep breaths in an effort to calm down. You try to remind yourself that these thoughts are just your insecurities talking, but it’s hard to shake the feeling of being inadequate and unlovable in a world where people can’t come to do the opposite of that.
You were so involved in your own thoughts that you failed to notice someone come up behind you until the sun no longer shined down on you, and instead, it was a shadow. Ironically, it was how you felt at the moment - overshadowed by your own emotions. You sniffled a few times, trying to gather your bearings before turning to see who it was. You were shocked to see that it was Lo’ak standing there.
You quickly composed yourself, trying to wipe your tears away, only to realize that your ecopack mask made that impossible. You turn away, feeling embarrassed and more self-conscious about being caught in such a vulnerable state.
“Are you okay?” Lo’ak asks softly, stepping closer to you.
You can feel his warmth radiating off of him, and the proximity makes your heart race. You try to push those thoughts aside, knowing that they only lead to more heartache. “I’m fine,” you say, your voice coming out weaker than you intended. You look away in cringe.
Lo'ak doesn’t seem convinced and reaches his hand out to gently grab your chin. His warm touch on your skin sends shivers down your spine, and you feel your heart rate pick up as he guides your gaze up to meet his. It's impossible to avoid the intensity of his gaze, and for a moment, you're lost in his eyes.
But the weight of your emotions is too much to bear, and you break eye contact, feeling a fresh wave of tears welling up behind your ecopack mask. You can't bring yourself to admit the truth to him, to lay bare your innermost thoughts and fears.
As if sensing your hesitation, Lo'ak's thumb begins to move in small, soothing circles on your skin. It's a small gesture, but it feels like a lifeline, a grounding force in the midst of your swirling emotions.
"It's nothing," you lie, your voice shaking slightly as you force the words out. You can't bear the thought of burdening Lo'ak with your problems, not when he has so much else to deal with.
But Lo'ak is persistent, and his eyes never leave yours as he speaks, his voice gentle and reassuring. "It doesn't look like nothing," he says, and you feel a pang of guilt at the concern etched on his face.
You take a deep breath, trying to calm your racing heart as you gather your thoughts. It feels like an eternity before you finally find the courage to speak up, your voice barely above a whisper.
"I... I don't know, Lo'ak," you say, feeling the tears spilling down your cheeks despite your best efforts to hold them back. "I feel so conflicted. I don't know what to do with these feelings."
Lo'ak's expression softens even more, and he takes your hand, leading you to a nearby log where he sits down beside you. You feel the warmth of his body beside you, and it's both comforting and unnerving at the same time.
"Tell me," he says, his voice still gentle, but now with a note of urgency, "Whatever it is, you can always tell me."
You look up at Lo'ak, you can feel the tears pooling in your eyes, threatening to spill over at any moment. You see the concern etched on his face and can't help but feel a surge of emotion at the intensity of the moment. You feel like you're standing on the edge of a cliff, ready to jump into the unknown, and you take a deep breath, trying to steady yourself.
You know you need to tell him what's been weighing on your mind, but you're afraid of how he'll react. Will he judge you? Will he think you're silly or overreacting? You push those doubts aside, knowing that you need to be honest with him.
"I feel like I’ve had to fight all my life," you say, gesturing with your hands to emphasize your point, "For a spot that will never be filled. The Na’vi," you pause, placing a hand over your heart as you feel the tears welling up again, "they will not accept me, they will never see me. I'm tired," you say, shaking your head in frustration, "Lo'ak, I'm tired."
As you speak, Lo'ak listens intently, never taking his eyes off of you. He doesn't interrupt you or try to make light of your feelings, but simply allows you to express yourself fully. It's a rare and beautiful thing, and in that moment, you feel seen and heard in a way that you never have before.
When you finish, Lo'ak doesn't say anything at first. He simply looks at you with a mixture of sadness and understanding, his eyes full of empathy. Finally, he scoots closer to you until your shoulders touch, and he speaks in a soft voice,
"They are too blind to see, and that is their loss," he says, his gaze shifting away briefly before returning to meet your own, "But you, [Name], you are gifted, smart, and kind," he says, his voice full of sincerity, "And beautiful," he adds, his words causing a flutter in your chest, "So what if they don't see you? I see you."
You feel your heart skip a beat at his words. You can hardly believe what you're hearing. The man you've been in love with for so long has feelings for you too. You're overjoyed, overstimulated, and disoriented all in one. You manage to gather your thoughts and respond with a shaky voice, "I see you, Lo'ak." You reach out and take his hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.
A look of relief washes over his face, and a smile slowly stretches across his features. He leans down until your foreheads are touching, "That makes me really happy, more than you know," he says, chuckling softly as he closes his eyes, savoring the feeling of your warmth and presence next to him.
Despite the intensity of the moment, a part of you couldn't help but wonder about the future. "What about..." you start to say, but he interrupts you, opening his eyes and flickering them over your face, trying to memorize every detail,
“I don't know what the future holds, but I like you enough to explore this...what this is. I want to see where we go, together," he says, his voice serious and intent.
You stare at him, your mouth slightly open in surprise at the side of him he was showing. He sounds more mature, more sensual, and more goal-oriented than you had ever known him to be. It was a side of him that you found yourself instantly drawn to, a side that you hadn't fully appreciated yet.
Feeling your cheeks flush, you lean in and peck the inner corner of his lips, letting them lingering for a moment before pulling back, "I can't wait to find out," you whisper, your eyes locked onto his, feeling as though you were seeing him in a whole new light.
Chapter 2 | word count: 1,428
synopsis: Neteyam and you are in a relationship, but you’re a sky demon and he’s the clan’s future Olo'eyktan so you’ve been keeping it secret. However, one day his parents finally catch word of what their firstborn’s been up to, and Neteyam is told to cut any contact with you. Unfortunately for them, he has a plan that he hopes will ensure you two can be together.
A/N: wow that took a while. no warnings yet but next chapter, get ready for some s m u t. and if anyone has ideas for wtf i should title this series lemme know.
chapter 1 | chapter 2
Three simple vague words, but they managed to stop you dead in your tracks. Neteyam couldn’t see your face, but his imagining of your expression made his heart ache and his stomach clench. Slowly, you turned around, revealing the exact expression he’d pictured, only worse.
“W-what?” You softly asked, pain obvious in your small voice. His ears pinned against his head, unable to handle the distress in your voice. Neteyam opened his mouth to respond, but nothing managed to come out.
Dropping the towels, your hands took the sides of your head. The realization was stabbing you, pointed tips drenched in toxins were repeatedly shoved straight through your chest. It was sickening. You shook your head, feeling grief overtake. What his simple words meant were clear as day in what it was going to entail for the two of you: Neteyam was going to be ripped out of your life, you’d never see him again. You’d be banned by the enraged Na’vi clan from ever even looking in the direction of the Omaticaya village.
Over the months you’d come to quickly love Neteyam with a deepness your body has never experienced before- but also, he was your only friend. Your one true connection you felt you had across all the planets and galaxies combined.
On Pandora, you were cursed; too young to properly bond with and be respected in any way by the other older scientists, and far too human to connect with the Na’vi  (Spider too, ironically) or any other facet of Pandora’s life. Without Neteyam, you could already feel the return of isolation on this alien planet looming, waiting for the right moment to violently drown you.
Neteyam exhaled, trying to release the tension his body held. He wanted to move, to comfort you, but the last strings of his parents demands echoed within his mind, keeping his feet in place. Ultimately, once he saw the light catch off your welling tears, he could no longer stomach it. The sight of you, all alone in such mental distress caused by his own words. He only ever felt desires to protect you and keep you healthy and happy.
Neteyam shook his head and moved forward taking you into his arms. You flinched, a bit shocked, but you immediately accepting his offer of physical comfort by hugging his waist, burying your head into him. Your tears started to flow, which only made him hold you more securely, keeping your shaking body close, not letting you go. Exactly what his parents explicitly didn’t want.
“We . . . don’t have to separate, though.”
You sniffled, craning your head back to look up at the tall male’s face, confusion clear on your face. “What do you mean?” Already, you were interested. You wanted nothing more than his answer that’ll help you to escape the crushing misery. Neteyam sighed. This was going to be a hard one to explain.
“What I mean is . . . I think I have an idea, but just . . . listen.” You felt nervousness prickle your skin. What was he thinking? On your end, nothing in mind came to an answer, but that was you, a human. Neteyam had exclusive knowledge of his kind and his family, information that may keep you two together. You blinked, hesitantly nodding for him to continue.
He ran his hand across his head, smoothing back his braids as his eyes searched the floor, trying to conjure up the best way to verbalize his thoughts.
“Earlier today, we were talking about what our future holds. What being together might look like. When we both talked, we made it sound so far away . . . . but it may be much closer to now than either of us would’ve ever expected.” He looked from the floor to meet your eyes, searching yours for signs you understood what he meant.=You were confused, reeling through the memory of the exact conversation you two had earlier.
Neteyam watched the realization dawn on you; your eyes opening wide as your shoulders scrunched up in defense.=He felt you pull away in his hold, so he allowed you to freely slip out, knowing forcibly restricting your movements would only make your panic increase.
“Ne-Neteyam!” You shrieked, quickly putting space between you two. You were embarrassed, the sadness from earlier briefly being paused. “That’s-! Insane-! It doesn’t-!” You were flabbergasted, needing to turn your back to him so you could regain your senses without being under his gaze. Your clenched fist went to your chest while your other hand went to your neck, nervously rubbing it.
“Yeah we were talking, but it was just that, talk! It wouldn’t work, never, we’re different species! Human, Na’vi . . . ” It was the whole basis behind his mother despising you, despite never having exchange a single word. “We can’t reproduce-! It’s not even possible!”
“A-And your mother,” You gulped. Humans only a few inches taller than you were already intimidating enough in your mind, now picture a 10-foot tall alien warrior woman infuriated and with a bone to pick, coming after you. That was what fueled nightmares and now Neteyam was trying to bring it into reality.
“Your mom already wants to rip my throat out. If it worked, I’d be stuck looking for the segments of my spine spanning the entire planet.”
Neteyam visibly bristled at the idea, the ends of his lips twitching. He loved his mother with his entire being, but he loved you, too. He wouldn’t let his mother lay a finger on you, did you not know that? Yes, he’d never hurt his mother, but he . . . just wouldn’t let it happen.
“Calm yourself. That’s my point.” Neteyam placed a hand on your shoulder, gripping it securely to keep your focus. “My mother would never kill or harm the mother of her own grandchild! You know how important family is to us Na’vi. You having my child would give us the opportunity to say we’re a mated pair, and force them to accept us.” His tone was rising. He closed his eyes to collect himself, taking a deep breath through his nose before slowly reopening them.
“Look, I can’t promise my mother will ever accept you entirely like she did for my dad, but if you have my child, it would be enough for me to demand you’re seen as my mate and it would be enough to keep her in place. My dad- I know he would eventually come around and accept you, along with all my brother and sisters. They won’t care you’re a sky person. They’ll probably be the first ones to see you as part of the family.”
You didn’t have much experience with the other younger members of the Sully’s, Neytiri would blow a gasket if she found another sky person poking around her children, but his siblings did have a deep affection for Spider, then maybe Neteyam was right in that regard.
Still, having a murderous mother-in-law that could crush you like a bug in an instant, just barely being held back from murdering you by constitution wasn’t exactly selling the idea. Plus, you couldn’t shake off the whole reproduction working. You were doubting the authenticity of Neteyam’s idea, a part of you thinking it was nothing but him pulling together bits and pieces of baseless ideas all on the fly in a desperate bid to save this. Not that you didn’t appreciate his effort, but you wished he had something more solid.
“Neteyam,” You started, looking down at the floor. Neteyam winced, defeat sinking in as he knew exactly where this was heading. “I love you so much, I just can’t-” You stopped, unable to continue. You didn’t know how to continue.
The words to deny his proposal were already in your head, but they refused your tongue, blocked by relentless images of you being engulfed by loneliness after your one companion is torn away and separated by a barrier of thick, imposing forests you’re never allowed to step foot in again.
If someone is on the end of the plank, about to be forced into the dark ocean below, with no other options is it that foolish to pray that a lifesaver miraculously falls from the sky? At least Eywa had a seemingly better record of answering prayers than God ever did. You took a deep breath that filled out your rib cage, before loudly exhaling. “Okay. Let’s do it . . . I will . . . at least try.”
