the elutheria crew!!
i think they deserve cuddles, barleycorn most of all. it's far too sad
i accidentally drew them more bat like than anthro whoops!
and then face closeups and species under the cut!!
Mr Barleycorn, based on a Spectacles Flying Fox
Mr Pipes, based off of a Little Brown Bat
Mr Pennies, based off of a Wrinkle Lipped Bat (not wrinkle faced!)
and finally, Mr Menagerie, based off of a Canyon Bat

Barleycorn
Il motivo barleycorn viene tessuto utlizzando l'omonima speciale armatura. Si tratta di un motivo assai simile a quello del bell hopsack, con la differenza che qui il motivo base si sviluppa su sei fili di ordito, mentre la i fili sono otto.

There were three men came out of the West
Three kings both great and high
And they have sworn a solemn oath
John Mastodon must die.
They took a tank and ran him down
With bullets in his head
And they have sworn a solemn oath
John Mastodon was dead
But when the Spring came kindly on
And showers began to fall
John Mastodon got up again
And did surprise them all...

ÞÆS OFEREODE
ÞISSES SWA MÆG
(that was overcome.
so too may this.)
from Deor, old english poem, c. 9th century.
new riso design! John Barleycorn is a folkloric figure considered the embodiment of the wheat harvest, and the subject of the English and Scottish folk song that describes the cyclical nature of his birth, death, and processing into bread and ale each year. this one was about the comfort in the constancy of things. the world could end. but the wheat field rises anew. the year turns around again.

My final entry (I’m @moonstruck-stormy ) for the Holiday Contest
I thought about what would Mr Barleycorn give as a totally not charity present and thought an empty box would be funny.
The most precisely measured and crafted box in existence was made. In scientific notation when needed and with agreeable significant figures.
It’s the math bat it’s a must
Thanks @house-of-mirrors for a second eye because Christmas brain be making me act unwise
