I cant decide which option is funnier, Draxum getting the turtles from a pet store or stealing them from a zoo. Imagine this 6″8 armored humanoid goat walking into a store/zoo and you’re just confused and terrified and all he does is yoink some baby turtles and maybe break an employees neck

Backstory time! : The one and only Lou Jitsu is a famous shootout champion in Big Mama’s ring, they fall in love bla, bla, bla. Big Mama betrays him and he’s captured by the mad scientist doctor Barum Draxum and gets experimented on, and BOOM we got the turtles. (things are pretty canon in this au except the fact that it takes place in the Wild West and the mystical weapons are different. Yuichi is there too)

been thinking about new story idea, i guess i could try to write as a book? psychological horror in a carnival/circus setting. Set in whatever time period circuses were most popular.

Whole thing would start with some guy, psych or medicine student or something, who is fascinated by both wellness and circuses. He thinks that a psychologist's office or an asylum is too staid and artificial to promote mental healing. What if instead of needing a specialist, large groups of people could all be made well passively, through the careful manipulations of the senses, of sight and sound and taste? and what better what to implement that than through something people love, and actively seek out? Hordes could be made well before they even know they're sick!

He makes two friends in his college (or college equivalent for this setting) days to help get this idea off the ground. A PT Barnum knockoff guy, to represent the capitalistic side of such a venture, and another college student, a lady who studies the cutting edge of sound and psychology and is as if your middle school music teacher was also a surgeon who regularly violated every part of the Hippocratic oath. Do no harm? Never heard of it.

Together they're all able to buy out a run-down circus, and PT Barum-lite manages to get it back on its feet, the musicologist is able to put together some damn good musical acts, and Main Guy gets to live out a childhood dream of playacting as a ringmaster. And once their traveling show is up and running, they start putting in some of the psychological aids they researched - music in certain tones, certain flashing patterns of light, things like that.

The plan is to wait for some good, presentable results, and then show them off at the various institutions that laughed him out of academia. And they start getting results! by staking out certain audience members they do see that their shows have noticeable effects on people!

But its not exactly the effects he wants. in many cases, people seem to deteriorate. after they visit towns, reports of violence and disobedience, and even insanity go up, not down. PT Barnum knockoff changes the acts, the musicologist woman changes the tones of the organs, but things aren't going according to plan, and keep sliding out of control. They discover that the act may have psychological effects when the rats on the circus train, a commonplace plague on many ventures, start changing. Some die. some twist and contort and mutate so fiercely that they probably wish they were dead. Main Guy reads articles, tracks goings on of every town they've been to, and begins to hear of worse and worse things. Even about monsters. But that couldn't have been him surely. No way that could be his fault.

even when a few shows end with certain sensitive audience members crying or trying to rip their tongues out, he doesn't give up. he thinks that, well, some bad stuff happened once, but that doesn't mean it'll happen every time! Science is built on broken eggs! We just have to keep trying!

ATLAS' COUPLE INTERVIEW ON ORF TRANSCRIPTION

Interviewer: Lucas Braathen is celebrating his 5th world cup win, congratulations! A special win for you, since the stress has been high?

Lucas: Oh, it's been so hard this past week:

I: Oh, there comes your colleague!

Atle: *happy laughing*

Lc: And now I'm here in Adelboden in front of all these crazy swiss fans and then there's the green light and the first person I see is my friend Atle. I- it's unbelievable, this is the day we've dreamt of since the age of *turning to atle for reassurance* what?

At: Ever since Lucas and I were twelve years old we've had a dream

Lc: *trying not to cry*

At: and this dream is being first and second in the same world cup race and today - today, NOW! it's here! It's mental unbelievable. This feeling I had when I was in the lead and Lucas was about to start was: "It doesn't matter who (of us) wins, the only thing that matters is the double"

Lc: *laughs, in tears, shaking his head in disbelief*

I: So no matter who is first and who is second?

At: Yeah, no, for me it didn't matter. That's also why I was so happy when Lucas finished and I ran at him and i yelled "LUCAS, DOUBLE!" and he said "NO WAY" *happy Atle noises*

Lc: Yeah, unbelievable

I: You also were in the same ski club when you were children, right?

Lc: Yeah since we were eleven we've been at Barum (?) Ski Club together and we've been working a lot and we're learning from our strong and our weak sides and then we come to the world cup together and today we win in Adelboden together

(A/N: there's a lot of very sus glances through this entire thing and Lucas does not once so much as hint removing uis arm around Atle's shoulder but the look they gave each other at that moment has no straight explanation. That's love right there!)

I: You also have to keep in mind what happened here, you both got injured in Adleboden two years ago and now you're standing here together.

At: Yeah it's definitely a revenge for 2021 when we both injured our knees, both with nasty crashes. But today, (we got) the revenge - all is good. Finally we're friends with Adelboden.

I: Are you (Lucas) also friends with Adelboden now?

Lc: Ah, it's a love-hate relationship you know? The GS is tough but today we had a win and a second place in the slalom so next year...

At: Yeah, both days will be good days!

Sure, why don't I give the basic of who is with whom. :) Maybe the prologue?

So after the turtles were mutated along with Lou Jutso. There was, of course, a big fight with Barum Draxum. Lou Jutso was having a difficult time trying to escape with all the turtles and unfortunately it led to a large explosion of Draxum Lab. Now he was able to grab Mikey for sure, but he lost the other three in the scuffle.

After the explosion and Lou Jutso escaped. Draxum had to start rebuilding his lab and was working on cleaning out the ruble. It wasn't till after he removed some of the debris that he accidentally found little Donnie huddle into corner fairly close to the draining pipe. But it looks like the rubble around him kept him from slipping in. Draxum could only assume that his other creations must have slipped into the pipe. He would have to search for them later. For now he still has SS-3 and picked up Donnie and placed him in the care of the gargoyles for now.

Leo and Raph in their wandering around as the fight was going on did accidentally slip into a chemical draining pipe that led outside of the lab and into the yokai streets. Particularly by an alleyway close to Big mamas hotel. They most likely would have starved if it wasn't for a certain fox servant who was out buying some goodies for big mama and who happened to hear soft crying. He found the two and brought them back to the hotel to show them off to the other work mates and how adorable they are. Big mama gets curious why her workers are all huddled around and checks out the commotion. She instantly falls in love with the two "turtley-boos" and decides to take them in and have her workers help raise them. Though she takes them in more like pets then actually children of her own.

So as each turtle is raised by their individual parent. Neither of them know of the others existence. Mikey is lovingly raised by splinter, Donnie is raised by Draxum in a son/apprentice way. And Raph and Leo are raised together mostly by big mama staff, but are given a bit of affection by big mama till she sees some "talent" between the two.

No I will say splinter does try to find the others once Mikey is a little bigger to be left alone for a bit. But finds out it is nearly impossible to retrieve them from their new guardian, especially when he sees they are being taken care of in some way. He just doesn't want to rip them away from their parents at the age he found them. So his original plan is to return to watch and look over them from afar and eventually pull them out when he senses trouble. Hence the reason for the journal to track their progress. But once splinter finds out about the foot clans return. The plan ultimately is dropped in favor of training and fully supporting Mikey. No more sneaky father, it hurts, but for Mikey. It needs to be done.
