It's late night gang somewhere x2

Dylan arrived at the airport at 10:43AM, she was ready to leave around 11:25AM, almost an hour later. She had been at boarding school for a few years now and was ready to take a break and spend some quality time with her family.

Her little sister was growing up faster than she realized, Richie not far behind, and her older sister was working almost full time at the hospital. Everyone had their own paths and she was no different, but she wanted to do more than be the sister that was always at school studying.

She learned a lot. But she missed her family.

When she arrived at the Merlyn household, it was quiet. Her parents were already at work with her two sisters, and Richie was at school himself. So she had the company of only herself for a few hours.

She considered walking around town, but she felt a reflection on what she planned to do next might better suit her.

She had been going to boarding school since she was 12, she was 24 now, and she never worked unless it was at the school. The one she attended was just east of Boston, Massachusetts so she worked at little cafes and daycares on her off time, and at the school she found herself helping the librarian.

She didn't know what she wanted to do, but she planned on figuring it out. She could be a teacher, but she'd have to go to school every day for the rest of her life.

She didn't want to be a doctor, or a cop, despite the desire to help people.

She loved kids and planned on having at least 3 of her own one day, but that wasn't a career that was a future goal.

She sat down on the couch and looked through the mail that was left behind by her family before they rushed out the door. There was coupons, ads, a newspaper which she knew instantly belonged to Richie, and a discarded letter from a Natalia Hale.

She knew the first name well enough to know it was Bex's biological mother, but she refrained from reading it because if Bex wanted her to know, she would tell her once she was home.

Another discarded letter sat underneath it, this one wasn't addressed to anyone and looked as if it came from the hospital personally. It was a DNA test result and they came back positive.

She assumed that Bex was testing to see if Natalia really was her mother, in desperate hope that maybe she was a Drake instead. But then she spotted the name next to her sister's on the paper: Quincy Lance.

She sat back, staring at the name in front of her, and thinking back on her previous experiences with the Lance twins.

Quincy was nice, he was going to school to become a doctor, he was musical, and already like an older brother to her. Quinn was loud, still very sweet to family and friends, and would start a fight with anyone who looked at her wrong. She also ran off with Elizabeth Queen when they were 17 to work in Vegas.

She picked up her phone and scrolled through her contacts, she had Quincy saved because he was like a brother to her and she'd call him whenever she was home to see how he was doing. Now he is her brother, apparently, and she felt the need to relay that information to make sure she was understanding it correctly.

It took 3 rings for him to answer, but he was a doctor and could be busy.

"Quincy?" She asked as soon as the call picked up on the other side.

"Dylan?" He replied in the same questioning tone she had.

"I have a question."

"I may have an answer."

"Were you aware Becca stole your spit?" She asked, looking at the DNA results again.

"I willingly gave it up."

"Did you know why?"

"Where are you right now? I've not heard you so inquisitive since you were 14."

"I came home and found DNA results-"

"You're home? Does Bex know?"

"No, I just got back not long ago. Everyone already left. Stop avoiding my questions," she stood up from the couch and paced the small area in front of it, DNA results still in hand.

"Alright, yes. Bex and I did a DNA test. The results came back a match. We've not had a chance to discuss any of this yet, I mean, I've talked to your dad and Bex and my mom, but it's complicated."

"So we're siblings?"

"Yeah, I guess so, yeah."

"Cool. Okay, have a good day." She pulled the phone off of her ear but heard Quincy say something that made her pull it back up. "What?"

"That was it? You question me and then hang up?"

"Yeah?"

"You are certainly a Merlyn. I'm glad you're back, Pickle."

"Glad to be back, Qtip." She smiled as she hung up on him and tossed her phone back onto the couch.

Her conversation she planned to have with Bex just got a whole lot longer.

“She’s got her momma’s voice.”

“Yeah, well, she gets her tantrums from you.” 

“I was a very fussy child.” 

“And it only took you a good, what, thirty years to grow out of that?” Laurel teased.

“So, how was the funeral?” 

“Funeral was fine, I said a few words, John said more words-” Tommy slipped off his coat- “got to meet your doppelgänger, learned you can definitely pull off short hair.”

Laurel laughed, “Glad to know that I don’t have to worry about an alternate version of myself stealing my husband.”

Riley - day if there was a universe crossover, how do you think Cade & Brady would get along with Cassandra & Becca Merlyn?

Not gonna lie, I had to stalk your page for a while to get some ideas for this. Now, I don’t really know their personalities, but I hope this makes sense! :)

Cadence and Cass would get along well because they had similar paths in life.

Grew up very rich, got pregnant with their, at the time, boyfriends/flings, had children, decided to keep said children, made a life for themselves through medical school.

Plus, they have a mutual affection for Barry and not many people can take his nerdiness, his rambling, and just being Barry.

Being single parents who co-parent is something they’d bond over as well

They probably even meet up every few mornings to catch up on their lives because of that.

Cass would hold some resentment against Cadence knowing she’s lying about something, but not knowing that she’s lying about being Flare and working to keep the city safe.

Cass also doesn’t ask her about her identity, despite having suspicions, due to not wanting to ruin their friendship. Until she has no choice but to find out

Cade agonizes over whether or not to tell her she’s Flare

As for Becca, if I have her age right since she’d be 18 in 2020 and Brady would be 14,  Brady would more than likely have a crush on Becca.

Like an obvious as hell crush on Becca

But it’d also throw him off because (since her and FC and my OC Leah’s FC are both Olivia Holt) Leah is his best friend and he, as far as he knows, doesn’t have a thing for Leah and just assumes that Becca would be her doppelganger.

Cadence would be a bit iffy about Becca simply because she’s Oliver’s daughter and she’s seen how Oliver treated Conner (my version of William since I didn’t know he was going to be named William within the Arrowverse until long after I named him Conner) and is skeptical of the way that Oliver would treat any other children that he has.

Especially when she finds out about Mia (it doens’t help that Cadence hates Felicity and while Felicity doesn’t hate her, they just don’t get along

But (POTENTIAL SPOILER DEPENDING ON HOW FAR YOU ARE IN MY SERIES) since Jesse is Cade’s sister, she’s glad to see that Becca gets along with Jesse and is a close friend

Cadence treats Becca well, but does have a tendency to overstep her boundaries in a parenting role to any of Oliver’s kids in this manner.

Not to mention, this could probably get on Cassandra’s nerves as well.

Cade is protective of Becca despite her misgivings of Oliver’s parenting and the corruption among the Queens, and often takes Becca under her wing to train her

So Melissa is Malcolm’s niece, so she definitely grew up with Cass, Gwen, and Tommy as her family and her pseudo siblings because she was an only child. Melissa probably grew the closest to Cass and Tommy because she was their age and Gwen was always the little sister to her.

When Cass gets pregnant with Becca, Melissa helps her through the pregnancy and is one of the first people Cass tells. She’s a bit betrayed by the fact that it was with Oliver, but Melissa cares too much about Cass and Oliver to be angry at either of them.

I don’t think Melissa would get really close to Gwen until after the particle accelerator incident when she relies on STAR Labs and Barry a little bit more, and she teases Gwen about her relationship with Cisco and Cass about her relationship with Barry.

Melissa would be the BEST AUNT EVER to Becca. Probably call her Bex for fun and tell her stories of her Uncle Tommy and her dad. Would teach Becca how to hack into anything. Just generally a bad influence.

1: What inspired you to write the fic this way?

okay so - Of The Wretched was started by me in wow holy shit , in 2016!!!! I dont even remember what inspired me to write it (probably some arrow fuckery), though i do remember that the ‘flashback scenes’ - were never meant to dominate the way they did. They were just like, a window that became its own house and then separated from the old house, aka the ‘present tense’ of the story. 

I do remember that i had been rewatching gilmore girls at the time and rory’s dynamic with Logan (and Jess) inspired Felicity’s with Oliver when they were young. 

I also remember that i was writing ‘all worthy places’ at the time - like, that was my MAIN story in those days - and it was at times so heavy emotionally, that to unwind, i would write the parts about oliver and felicity in interacting as teenagers. 

2: What scene did you first put down?

i think the one with Thea and Felicity on the plane, leaving Starling. Yeha, the opening scene of the fic. The first few chapters of the fic were what it was meant to be actually. Like, it was never meant to go in the past but it did. *shrug* XD. 

3: What's your favorite line of narration?

Oliver and Felicity in the past. Definitely. And just like - Felicity’s pov when she was a teen and navigating her repationship with her mom and Oliver and tommy, that whole thing. Also i just looooove writing chapter 4 of ‘and so it is’ - the flashback part that became its own story. thats the chapter where we actually SEE oliver falling in love and his freaked out reaction to it. 

4: What's your favorite line of dialogue?

That whole scene in the abovementioned chapter 4, when oliver is drunk and felicity is exhausted and she finds him sleeping (aka passed out) in her room and moves ihm to the bed. 

tho i also love the scene where Felicity and Malcolm are arguing and oliver and tommy are in the next room and Oliver hears the threat in Malcolms voice and just - wants to go over there 

It wasn’t the words, exactly. It was the way Malcolm said them. Like there was supposed to be some kind of action implied after them.

Felicity though – she either missed it or didn’t give a fuck. “Right back at ya, Mister Merlyn.”

“You selfish girl! I fly over half the country to get you out of trouble and this is the treatment I get for my trouble?”

“I didn’t ask you to come here!” Felicity yelled over him, her anger reaching an explosive pitch Oliver didn't know she was capable of. “Oliver and Tommy got me out of trouble, and I will see myself through whatever comes next. I don’t need your help and I don’t want it, because your gross way of hanging your so called ‘ good deeds ’ over people’s head makes me sick .”

5: What part was hardest to write?

The reconciliation between Oliver and Felicity, after they fell out. I feel like the chapter in which it happened was less natural than the ones before it. 

6: What makes this fic special or different from all your other fics?

It was incredibly fun to write. Like, i truly enjoyed writing it because that version of the characters and their relationship was just so entertainng to me personally, and just light and amusing, and overall just good, in the way they affected each other. (considering i was writing the darkest parts of ‘all worthy places’ in the mean time, yeah that became the most fun aspect of the story) 

7: Where did the title come from?

The story started as an exploration of an alternate universe where Robert was the Green Arrow/Arrow, and everything in the lives of the characters went to shit. It was meant to be the ‘dark universe’. where nothing is happy and everything is bad. ....and then it changed because @bisexualfelicity has a very strong hold on me and she likes happy things. 

8: Did any real people or events inspire any part of it?

Nah not really. this was just pure fun. 

9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic?

Yup. Felicity practically declares war on the league over Oliver. There is an actual war. lots of people  die. Moira dies - mostly all of the people that die in canon die during the war, etc etc, no one is happy. Everything that can go wrong does, bla bla bla 

10: Why did you choose this pairing for this particular story?

I was very obsessed with it at the time and to an extent, still am. 

11: What do you like best about this fic?

How much fun it was to write and Oliver and Felicity’s personalities, which kind of took a life of their own. 

12: What do you like least about this fic?

How i handled Donna and Malcolm. And the the fact that its unfinished. 

13: What music did you listen to, if any, to get in the mood for writing this story? Or if you didn't listen to anything, what do you think readers should listen to to accompany us while reading?

I dont really remember having a fixed playlist for this one, actually. Which is weird of me. 

14: Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic?

I genuinely wanted everyone reading to have as much fun as i was having. 

15: What did you learn from writing this fic?

That a love story is at its best when its happening inhte background - when characters are falling in love and you dont mention it once but its so obvious to the reader. Also i learned that my favorite love stories are the ones where the lovers are super best friends first.

Coie + Richie & Jamie?

Richie + Jaime: They spend a lot of time together and I’m including Barbara in this as well. (there’s also some crossovers for what we’ve talked about. for both LS and your other one)

SPOILERS AHEAD!!

Supergirl:

So this is THEIR episode. While The DEO is worrying about the cosmic towers and Alfie and Alex are trying to appeal to Lena. Richie, Jaime, Barbara, and James are all trying to evacuate the city. 

Barbara is using her father’s connections to bring in planes and contact other leaders in the world.

Richie and Jaime are trying to keep the Shadow Demons from attacking the citizens.

Jaime kisses Richie before separating from him and joining Kara and Alfie in the fight against the shadow demons. 

Jaime dies along with Oliver fighting off the shadow demons (or instead of him, depending on what I change in COIE)

Richie, Barbara, and Alfie mourn.

They are unable to retrieve his body.

Batwoman:

Richie meets everyone for the first time (he previously only knew Fraya, Oliver, and Barry from Elseworlds)

He’s surprised to learn that Malcolm Merlyn had other kids besides him and Tommy on this Earth.

He joins Kara, Alfie, and Kate in finding the Paragon of Courage.

Conroy!Bruce is revealed to have fathered both Richie and Alfie on that Earth and lost them both. 

Richie fights against Conroy!Bruce with Kate while Alfie gets Kara out of there.

The Flash:

Richie gets angry at the Monitor for refusing to bring back Jaime while Barbara mourns the loss of James.

He’s even angrier when Alfie is revealed as the Paragon of Life, calling him the opposite. Blaming him for Jaime’s death.

That is the last thing Richie says to Alfie before he’s consumed by the Anti-Monitor Wave.

Arrow:

Richie appears in a memory of Elseworlds where he’s meeting Oliver, Fraya, and Barry for the first time. 

That’s the memory Alfie’s stuck in.

Jaime is also there.

Legends:

Richie and Jaime are living together in National City, Fraya popping in from time to time.

Alfie approaches them after talking to Kate and after Richie gets his memories back, he apologizes.

He also never lets Jaime out of his sight and keeps him from trying to attack any Shadow Demons.

He’s protecting the Geek Team with Mick, Jasmine, and Caitlin.

Richie and Jaime decide to continue working with the DEO, leaving the universe and multi-verse saving to Kara and Alfie.

For Cass + Gwen, he finds out about them after the universes merge and happily accepts his role as Uncle to Becca and Cece and older brother to both of them.
