Lying about your identity to have sex is rape by deception meaning this guy is a rapist.
A southern Minnesota man has been sentenced to six years in prison for posing as a Department of Homeland Security officer on social media, where he built a following of thousands and lured unsuspecting women into relationships.
Reyel D. Simmons, 53, of Dodge Center, Minn., was sentenced in U.S. District Court in St. Paul last week after pleading guilty in January to impersonating a federal officer and illegal weapons possession. Simmons' sentence includes three years of supervision after he leaves prison.
Before sentencing, prosecutors argued for Judge Eric Tostrud to give Simmons a term of more than seven years, pointing out that he carried out his scheme behind his wife's back while at the same time dating the woman who eventually turned him in.
Defense attorney James Becker countered with proposing a two-year sentence. Becker noted that Simmons had an alcoholic mother and was raised in Denver by alcoholic grandparents. He also struggled with dyslexia and attention deficit disorder in school.
Becker acknowledged in a court filing that his client "maintained his fictional biography with several women with whom he had romantic relationships, including the woman he married and deceived for many years."
But, the attorney continued, he "never accrued any financial benefit ... and never sought to use his (mis)identity to gain access to restricted areas or information. ... In truth, Mr. Simmons was merely playing dress-up to impress people around him and to woo women."
According to court documents:
The FBI received a tip last summer from a woman who met Simmons on TikTok about him posing as an agent with Homeland Security under the pseudonym Rey Reeves. In reality he was working for Shutterfly in Shakopee.
Simmons collected nearly 10,000 TikTok followers while using a profile photo of him wearing law enforcement gear and made several posts displaying badges and firearms, and referring to himself as a federal agent.
Not only has Simmons never been a Homeland Security agent, he's never been connected with any law enforcement agency in an official capacity. Nor has he ever been in the military as he claimed.
Simmons regularly carried a backpack that he called his "go bag." It bore a Homeland Security emblem and contained a handgun, fake Homeland Security badge, and other items supporting his ruse.
The woman who tipped off the FBI said she and Simmons traveled between Minnesota and Georgia between February and August 2021 to spend time together.
Whenever they were in Minnesota, they stayed in hotels in the Twin Cities. He told her Homeland Security was paying for the room "due to his undercover assignments in the area," the original charges read. He said his cases included child sex trafficking.
She said his pickup truck had additional lighting on the front bumper and was equipped with a police radio.
He routinely told the woman that he was a Navy SEAL and claimed to know Chris Kyle, a SEAL whose life was the basis for the movie "American Sniper."
Simmons' charade began to unravel in August 2021, when a commenter on his TikTok page wrote: "stolen valor — impersonating a police officer again, oh and can proof be provided!"
The woman contacted the commenter and learned of Simmons' prior acts of impersonating an officer in Colorado. She then went to the FBI with what she knew. In the meantime, Simmons continued communicating with the woman and keeping up his act not knowing that she had turned him in.
The commenter told the FBI that the two of them worked in Colorado for Energis Services Oil Field from 2017 to 2019, when he presented himself as a SEAL and former Denver police officer. Simmons also sent his coworker a photo of himself with a holstered gun and wearing a shirt with an Immigration and Customs Enforcement logo.
Law enforcement seized from Simmons' residence in Minnesota eight handguns and rifles, some of which were discovered in a basement bunker with a hidden doorway.
Simmons admitted to possessing unregistered silencers/suppressors, detonating cord containing an explosive, a blasting cap, thousands of rounds of ammunition, body armor with law enforcement emblems affixed to it, and other law enforcement-style badges, clothing, bags, and identification documents.
His guilty plea to illegal weapons possession is connected to felony convictions out of Colorado for soliciting for prostitution in 2015 and for making a threat with a weapon in 2007 while pointing a what turned out to be a BB gun at people in a car and presenting himself as a federal agent.
The encounter began when the car hit Simmons' vehicle. He handcuffed the driver and headbutted a passenger.

Anastasia Marie Macher — A Character Study
NOTE: I do not own the Scream franchise, nor do I claim to own it. I own the storylines that diverge from canon and my original characters. I will take criticism as any of you see fit to give as long as it’s in a constructive manner.
Tumblr media
ANASTASIA “STACEY” MACHER was one of the two accomplices who helped Billy Loomis with The 1996 Woodsboro Massacre. Due to her brother’s love of horror movies, the genre began to grow on her until it was a full-blown obsession, rivalling that of Randy Meeks (who she dubbed “Randy Geeks”).
Her only reason for going along with Billy’s plan was that if her brother were to get caught, then she’d go down with the ship (in this case, “the ship” being her brother’s friend’s plan). Her undying loyalty to her brother is unfortunately what got her killed when she was taken to the ground by Amelia Riley, she told the girl that “I’ve always had a thing for redheads”, to which Amelia responds with, “Sorry, I’m not really into psycho blondes” and ended her life by stabbing her.
Anastasia was close to her brother when they were alive and felt alienated by peers her age. She attached herself to him and befriended his friend group, made up of Tatum Riley, Sidney Prescott, Amelia Riley, Randy Meeks and Billy Loomis. She didn’t date anyone, though she did have a secret “fling” with Billy, which was done before it ever really began.
Since Anastasia isn’t a real character in Scream (1996), I tried to think of who would match her the best and I think Alicia Silverstone (when she was on Clue) would fit Anastasia.
Tumblr media
Biography
Early Life
Anastasia Macher was born February 12, 1979. She grew up in 261 Turner Lane, Woodsboro, California, a moderate-sized farmhouse with her older siblings, Leslie and Stu, and parents. Her childhood was happy, being born within less than a year of her brother, they were considered Irish twins (Stuart being born February 23, 1978).
Her older sister, Leslie, didn’t live in Woodsboro in 1996 when Stu and Stacey assisted Billy in the massacre. Instead, she was away at university. She wasn’t aware of her siblings’ crimes until she got a call from her hysterical mother telling her of how Stu and Stacey had killed several people and were in the hospital in critical condition.
As a Woodsboro High junior, Stacey shared her brother’s fun-loving nature. She was known by Stu to dislike his girlfriend, Tatum Riley, and wished that her brother had dated their best friend, Amelia, who was Tatum’s twin. Her relationship with Randy Meeks is that they had horror movie nights together, which Stu didn’t know about or he and Billy would’ve put a stop to it immediately. She had a great disdain for Sidney Prescott, which she hid with a lot of effort, due to her jealousy of Sidney’s relationship with Billy. She thought very highly of Amelia, to the point where she wanted her to be her future sister in-law or even better, her girlfriend.
The First Murder (1995)
On a Thursday in late-October 1995, the trio secretly entered the Prescott residence, 34 Elm Street. After Maureen Prescott, Sidney’s mother, had the affair with Cotton Weary, who left without his coat as he was under the influence of alcohol. With that, they set the plan into action. They stabbed the 45-year-old housewife and mother to death and Billy left wearing Cotton’s coat and a similar hairstyle, Sidney witnessed his silhouette leaving and mistakes him for Cotton.
Stacey then helped Billy plant the coat to frame Cotton to avoid having her brother feet get caught.
The following year, the three grew closer after they got away with Maureen’s murder. In that timeframe, they put together a plan to commit a series of murders, like in their favourite horror movies, specifically slashers. Soon after the murder, Casey Becker, Stu’s girlfriend at the time dumped him for Steven Orth. As a part of their plan, Stacey set Stu up with Tatum Riley. She and Stu lie to Tatum that he dumped Casey, not the other way around.
Woodsboro Massacre (1996)
On Wednesday, October 29th, they began their killings two days before the anniversary of Maureen’s murder. Their first targets were Casey Becker and Steven Orth, sometime around 10pm. Before Steven arrived, the trio abducted him and tied him to a chair on the patio of the Becker residence after Casey’s parents left.
After they killed Casey and Steven, Billy went to Sidney’s house. While he was with Sidney, Stacey and Stu abducted Neil Prescott, Sidney’s father. Stacey was in charge of taking care of the car after they got Neil back to the Macher residence. She made it look like he abandoned the car and planted evidence to make it look like he was responsible for all of the murders.
On Thursday at school, Sheriff Burke began interrogated everyone in connection to Stacey’s and Stu’s crimes.
The friend group sit together around the fountain and discuss the murders. Sidney reminded Stu that he dated Casey, though he fired back that it was only “for like two seconds”. Randy spilled to Tatum that Casey dumped Stu, which Stacey butted in and told him he “is full of shit because Stu dumped Casey for you, Tate”.
Stu mocked the murders, including a pun-joke, “liver alone”. Stacey warned him to shut up without saying anything. On a serious note, he informed his friends that he didn’t kill anyone after Randy asked him about it. Stacey tapped him on his forehead as she prompted him with, “Nobody’s accusing you”. Stu returned her softness with, “Thanks, Stace”.
That night, Billy used the voice modifier to call Sidney’s house. Stu and Stacey attacked Sidney and they thought that she was alone. Unfortunately for them, they were wrong; Sidney was with Amelia. They didn’t think that through, which gave Amelia and Sidney enough time to fight them off. Later on, Billy implicated himself for the crime with the mobile phone. Stu and Stacey escaped before the police arrive.
While at Tatum’s locker on Friday, Tatum, Stu and Stacey talked. Stu checked his face in the mirror for any scratches Sidney gave him the night before in his attack. Stacey’s arm was wrapped in gauze, due to the knife Amelia had grabbed out of her hand and turned around on her. Tatum tried to shut Stu up over things he said that made him out to be an ass. Sidney asked Stacey where Billy is and if he’s okay, though Stacey scoffed at her and responded, “Yeah, right. Of course he is, you branded him the fucking Candyman.” Stu added, “No, dumbass, he’s heartbroken… obviously.” Tatum elbowed Stacey in the ribs and pushed Stu’s chest lightly, both as in warning.
When two Ghostface costumed students pulled a prank to scare people, Tatum shook her head in disapproval as Amelia looked noticeably aggressive. Stacey looked annoyed at some idiots taking credit for her and her brother’s work. Stu, being entertained by the prank, stated, “Look at this place, it’s like Christmas”. The Riley twins were both visibly pissed at his insensitivity, both said, “Stupidity leak!” where Tatum tapped Stu on his forehead while Amelia rolled her eyes at the couple.
Both Macher siblings met Amelia, Sidney, and Tatum outside of the school after Principal Himbry suspended it. Stu acted oblivious and childish, being completely insensitive to both Sidney’s and Amelia’s trauma from the attack. Amelia was on edge, due to her earlier encounter with Billy. Stacey suggested that she and Stu throw a party in celebration of school being out on an impromptu Fall break. Tatum pleaded with Amelia and Sidney to go with her to Stu and Stacey’s party that night. Stu told them to bring snacks and Stacey apologised briefly for her brother’s behaviour, though she didn’t mean it.
Later on that night, the party is in full swing at Stu and Stacey’s house after the citywide curfew is placed. After people leave when they hear of Principal Himbry’s murder, Stu, Stacey, and Billy plan their confrontation with Sidney, not counting on the fact that Amelia witnessed Tatum’s murder, connected the dots and didn’t leave for the principal’s murder distraction.
Sidney, Amelia, and the news cameraman Kenny Brown later watched Randy Meeks, who was drunk in Stu and Stacey’s house while Stacey in the Ghostface costume crept up behind him. Gale Weathers placed a camera in the entertainment centre under the television however, Kenny forgot about the 30-second delay, with Stacey already getting outside and slitting his throat.
Billy, Stu, and Stacey revealed the plan to Sidney and Amelia, including how they were going to frame Neil Prescott for everything. The three of them stab each other to make it look like Neil attacked them. Stacey and Stu both claimed that since they’d spent hours watching different horror movies, they knew how to frame him and get away with the murders.
Stacey stabbed Billy deeper than intended, which caused him to retaliate and stab Stu as revenge of sorts. Stu began to bleed profusely, complaining that he was “feeling a little woozy” and looked to be dying. In turn, Stacey let him stab her so that they’d die together if they had to because in her mind, dying was better than being put in solitary confinement for the rest of her life after an interrogation by the police for their motives if they were caught. With the trio distracted by Gale, Sidney and Amelia both ran off in opposite directions.
Stu got electrocuted after Sidney knocked the television on his head. Stacey was stabbed by Amelia, with both of the Macher siblings’ apparent deaths being ruled out as self defence on the girls’ parts.

Frank Marcus's Notes On His Love Affair
By Frank Marcus
Plays & Players Magazine, July 1972
Tumblr media
THE WRITING OF IT WAS THE EASIEST PART. I took as my text Robert Frost's 'You don't take notes during a love affair', amplified in Dora's opening speech with a quote from V S Pritchett's auto-biography. Cyril Connolly's words (on Thomas Mann) would have served equally well: '... one must be content to remain an observer of life and of one's own life, often deprived of the experiences which render more rounded and full those of other human beings.'
The tragi-comical predicaments of a writer's life (any writer's life), not untinged perhaps with a degree of self-disgust, were naturally close to me, and the creative pot was kept effortlessly on the due us is dices lie weeks it look to write the plastlessly end product—as is often the case with me was inordinately long but all of it seemed to me essential.
The character of Dora I modelled closely on the artistic persona of the great Swiss actress Maria Becker, and I hoped I might lure her to London. Hence the original Dora was given a German origin and there was a flashback scene, just before her final destructive rage, which showed Jim rescuing her from the post war holocaust, with both of them embodying a spirit of vouth, passion, and untainted love. In Ronald Bryden's opinion. the fact of my own German origin gave these scenes a deeper and integral significance.
As is my usual practice, the completed script was shown first to a varied kind of panel of readers (friends, but by no means sychophants) and their reactions were overwhelmingly favourable.
Not so the managements. The play's length, added to my wish to import an actress totally unknown in England, brought a sheaf of rejections. My stated willingness to make cuts, preferably in cooperation with the director, made little difference. The script gathered dust, and was shown occasionally to friends in the theatre. As these included actresses, I made the mistake of forgetting that they would assume I was offering them a part in the play. I shall not make that particular mistake again.
At this time—roughly a year ago—the impresario Marvin Liebman made some tentative moves to bring the immensely successful revival of my earlier play, The Formation Dancers, given at the Hampstead Theatre Club, to the West End. When these plans collapsed, he read my new play, liked it, and showed it to Robin Phillips. Robin reacted positively, and for the first time the project showed signs of getting off the ground.
The organisation of the German theatre, which compels actors to plan as long as two years ahead (and in the process turns them into civil servants), ruled out Maria Becker. To my mind, the only English actress with the necessary quality for Dora was Irene Worth.
Irene had just returned after a year with Peter Brook's experimental company in Paris and Persia. I handed her the script with trembling hands in the foyer of the Cambridge on the first night of West of Suez and watched her with horror starting to read it, sitting alone in the auditorium during the interval. I should add that, by now, I had cut more than 500 lines of dialogue from the play and reduced it to manageable proportions.
She studied the text with enormous care—in fact, she took herself off to Aldeburgh for a week to do so. She returned with six pages of notes, and I can honestly say that they were among the most stimulating, challenging, and intelligent comments any play of mine has received.
I assented to nearly all her suggestions for alterations. The only point of contention concerned the status of Dora as a writer. I had meant her to be a competent but run-of-the-mill novelist; I didn't want her to have the alibi of genius. It's easy (posthumously) to forgive the outrageous behaviour of a Strindberg or a Rimbaud, and Ibsen, Tolstoy, and Joyce—among many others—regarded their lives with icy disillusion. Irene wanted to use Dora to convey some of her own thoughts and emotions. With a star of that magnitude you don't argue, you comply. I rewrote totally the opening cadenza and tried to accommodate Irene's wishes as best I could. The original Dora was imprisoned in her room and addressed an imaginary audience: Irene stretched out her hands.
The rest followed smoothly. Nigel Davenport was Irene's first choice for Jim: we all concurred and were delighted when he accepted. Contrary to speculation, Jennie was not written for Julia Foster. I had written a play for her, shortly after she appeared in my first television play in 1966. It was called Studies of the Nude, produced at Hampstead, but Julia—alas—was held up on a film and could not play in it. I shall never cease to regret it. Ever since, I have been acting as her career adviser (unpaid). I implored her to go after Lulu and thought that Jennie in Notes, who is the exact opposite of the theatre's greatest sex symbol, might enable her to demonstrate her versatility as an actress.
As is my custom, I stayed away from the early rehearsals. When I rejoined them, I was struck by Robin's brilliant and unorthodox methods, but sensed that the tremendous rapport between him and Irene, which had proved so successful with the RCS's Tiny Alice, was somehow lacking. Marvin Liebman, as ever the epitome of kindness and generosity, hovered in the background, giving us total artistic freedom. Dora, by the way, had by now become English and the flashback scene, while retaining some of its intensity, had been transposed to a house near an airfield during the Battle of Britain. We tried it during our first week out-of-town in Southsea, but decided to cut it. as it came too late and seemed redundant.
Our second (and final) try-out week was in Brighton: a notoriously unreliable venue for a new play. We were triumphant. By the end of the week performances were sold out; the actors were cheered; the press was wonderful. The resident theatrical contingent turned out in force and were most complimentary. I was particularly pleased by a personal letter from T C Worsley: until his retirement a few years ago one of the most respected theatre critics in London. He wrote: 'Just a line to tell you how much I both enjoyed and admired your play on Saturday. It has great ingenuity, great elegance of form, and much human feeling. And how delightful for once to see a play that is really written and neatly constructed. I don't see how it can fail to be a great success: it certainly deserves to be.'
After the first night in Brighton, we were offered the Globe, and we returned to London confident, if not euphoric.
The two preview performances were also encouraging. I should like to believe that it was not accidental that the three critics who attended a preview as well as the opening night responded to the play with enthusiasm.
On the first night, I sat in a box, well hidden behind a curtain. The audience looked fashionable, a trifle elderly, with a sprinkling of ageing film stars. That curious and (I had hoped) defunct phenomenon, a West End audience, had descended on my play, hoping to see—I should guess—an amusing Shaftesbury Avenue comedy. Neil Simon would have served them excellently.
I knew within seconds that the play was misfiring. I'm not searching for alibis, but this audience refused to 'meet' the play. They sat back, elegantly attired, daring the actors to entertain them. The evening was not a calamity, but it was equally clearly not a smash hit.
In the circumstances, the notices were better than expected. The critics were split clean down the middle; there was praise as well as stricture. I was saddened only by Irving Wardle, who failed totally to connect with the play, mistook parody for imitation (Anouilh), and credited the deliberate clichés to me instead of to the characters who uttered them (ditto Jim's lame attempts at epigrams).
The experience certainly put paid to the myth that dog doesn't eat dog. There were examples of venom, a gleeful desire to insert the knife where it hurts and, in one case, near-libellous innuendo. As a practising theatre critic, I can't say that I was surprised.
Irene Worth bore the brunt of the attack. Her fortitude and kindness to her fellow actors increased my huge admiration for her. But, far more significantly, she proceeded to develop her performance, turning each occasion into a 'happening'. With Irene Worth in the cast, no play could be less than vibrantly alive. I'm glad to say that it didn't take long before she received the praise that she deserved.
As for myself, I have once again been privileged to see my fantasy embodied on the stage. I can proceed now to new fan-tasies. Irrespective of applause or abuse, there is only one road open to me. It leads back to the typewriter.

Today’s buzziest chance encounters
The tree I can see from my bedroom window— I always wanted to touch it. It’s been some emotional anchor to me, withering and witnessing. I imagined it in some lush earth. Today I found her, nestling wires, our hub. Perfect and grand, yet hiding in some crevice. Maybe she likes it there, all quiet with rats
At Harvard Art Museums, my first Paula Modersohn-Becker, which I fell into. “Being here is everything” is a biography of hers I read last fall thanks to Jess. Today, across this weird ugly baby, I felt her presence resonate in painted matter: Girl in a Red Dress, c. 1905 . Perceptions too organic to be formulated as thoughts (Lispector). Being here is everything
