My Dishonored Winter Feast (@dishonoredgiftexchange) gift for Eva (@vilecrocodile) trying to mash up as many prompts together as possible. Hope you and the rest of this story's readers enjoy this pure chaos and improv :)
Cathedral With No Gods
Working or alternative title: pass me the knife (and i'll eat you alive) Rating: M Word Count: 46,095 Warnings: Canon-typical Violence, Temporary Character Death, Graphic Descriptions of Gore
Pairings: Billie Lurk/ Emily Kaldwin (main), Mindy Blanchard/Lizzy Stride
Dozens of leaflets crowd Emily's vision and cold sweat runs down her back - a face that belongs to her but is not hers stares right back at her, looking through her. She recognises a shadow of herself pressing a knife into an innocent man's throat but knows that it is not her hand that drove it in.
If she is in Dunwall—with everyone's eyes on her at all times—then who is the person murdering civilians in Karnaca, and why do people believe it could be her?
When the Empress' face is stolen, she embarks on a journey back to her father's homeland to clean her name and take back what's hers.
(Special 'Thank you' goes to Light (@no-light-left-on) for having to endure my whining, and Control (@uncontrol-freak) for getting their own share of it and for proofreading this monstrous thing! :D)

i  don’t  know  why  i’m  using  the  ye  olde   ‘swearing  is  inappropriate  and  not  proper’   stereotype  for  emily.    i  guess  it’s  just  a  stereotype  that  sticks  for  royalty  and  she  lets  out  a  goddamn  or  shit  now  and  again,   but  i  still  find  it  so   FUCKING  funny  because  it  kind  of  makes  her  poetic  even  in  threatening  someone.   she   IS   poetic  and  super  romantic  otherwise  but  it’s  just  wild  writing  three  other  characters  in  the  same  universe  who’ll  just  swear  without  thinking  twice.
emily:    you  are  a  blight  on  this  empire. lizzy,  billie,  and  mindy:   i’ll  fuckin’  end  ya,  bitch  tit.

What your favourite Dishonored character says about you
Corvo Attano: You understand - I mean REALLY understand - the meaning of the term “DILF”. Alternatively, you’re a lesbian who doesn’t get along with your father.
Emily Kaldwin: You have childhood trauma :/
Daud: You enjoy a good tragedy. Alternatively, you think gruff, miserable old men with facial scars are hot.
Billie Lurk: You’re a communist.
The Outsider: You had a pretty intense emo phase in middle school.
Jessamine Kaldwin: You write a lot of meta.
Samuel Beechworth: You cant pick the mean dialogue options in games because it makes you feel bad :(
Teague Martin: You read a lot of fanfic and probably have a priest kink.
Treavor Pendleton: You like your men trembling and pathetic.
Granny Rags: Gone Girl fan
Geoff Curnow: You fantasize about normalcy
Delilah Copperspoon: While you are aware that it can be harmful, you are nonetheless an enjoyer of the ‘evil bisexual’ trope.
Lizzy Stride: You are a lesbian.
Alexandria Hypatia: That ‘aren’t you tired of being nice? don’t you just want to go apeshit?’ post really resonated with you.
Kirin Jindosh: You have at one point used the phrase “my poor little meow-meow”.
Breanna Ashworth: You would, if given the chance, absolutely have given up everything to join a coven of evil witches.
Paolo: Pedro Pascal fan.
Aramis Stilton: You’re tired of gay men always being depicted as pretty twinks in their twenties.

“I deserved that.”
“You deserve worse,” Corvo spits. His knuckles sting, and fuck, fuck, he just gave away his element of surprise, showed Daud his powers, and he didn’t even manage to break the bastard’s nose.
“Yes,” Daud agrees easily. He fishes an off-white handkerchief from his jacket pocket and begins to clean the blood off his face as best he can. “But you didn’t come here for justice.”
He raises his left hand, the Mark of the Outsider glowing brightly even through the thick leather of his gloves, and Corvo instinctively recoils – he will not be caught by Daud’s tethering magic again – but that’s not what Daud aims to do. When the glow of his Mark dims, three Whalers appear before their Master in a rush of the Void.
Two in grey, masked, one in blue, unmasked. It seems to be the hierarchical structure here.
The blue-clad Whaler is an older man, Serkonan, streaks of grey in his thick dark hair. His sharp eyes flick from Daud, his nose still bleeding, to Corvo, Lizzy hanging on his arm, then to Thomas, who has yet to sheathe his blade, and he sighs. “Clusterfuck of the day, boss?”
“Something like that,” Daud says. “I need the three of you to pay a visit to Pendleton Manor. See if Emily Kaldwin is being kept there.”
“Understood,” the Whaler says. “Should we bring her back here, if we find her?”
“No,” Corvo cuts in immediately. “I don’t want any of you laying a hand on her again.”
The Whaler raises an eyebrow at Daud, who nods. “You heard him, Rulfio. No retrieval. And be quick about it.”
“Aren’t we always?” Rulfio grins, but he salutes Daud nevertheless, and with another rush of the Void, he and his two masked colleagues vanish into the shadows.
“They won’t be long,” Daud says to Corvo, as though he’s just sent out his kids to fetch him the newspaper. “The Estate District isn’t far.”
Corvo crosses his arms. “What if they’re not keeping her there?”
“Then I’ll send more men into the city to find her,” Daud makes a surprisingly helpful offer. “With the full force of the Whalers, finding someone in Dunwall never takes more than a day or two.”
“Even when the head of state is doing everything in his power to keep them hidden?”
Daud smirks. “Especially when the head of state is doing everything in his power to keep them hidden.”

there’s  a  quote  somewhere  that  i  can’t  quite  remember  but  emily’s  definitely  said  she’s  wanted  to  travel  a  few  times,  notoriously  with  wyman  but  something  about  getting  a  boat  and  traveling  that  way  too.   dishonored  has  this  very  subtle  love  for  the  sea  and  it’s  exploration.   billie  always  wanted  to  be  a  ship  captain.   lizzy  IS  a  pirate.   gristol  having  a  very  large  and  powerful  navy.   whaling  being  the  number  one  business  of  the  isles  ( and  why  they’re  all  ahead  in  electricity  and  technology ) .   and  i  just  also  gravitate  towards  boat  adventures.   i  just  hope  that  one  day  emily’s  going  to  go  on  a  boat  trip  without  having  to  worry  about  the  empire.
she’ll  pass  of  her  empire  one  day  to  someone  she  loves  and  then  move  on  and  i  can’t  wait  for  that.
