“Don’t forget who you are.” approx 20” x 14” photography and mixed media. It’s a little hard for me to believe that it has only been 18 monrhs since I made the decision to make my work public and to be “ professionally creative” as it were. And let me tell you, it has been a crazy 18 months for me. I have found myself struggling alot to maintain Iden the person as seperate from Iden the artist. There is alot of overlap there to be sure but there is a difference and as time has past I have felt more and more that I am losing myself. This piece is a response to that. I rarely make work that is only for Iden. This piece is a gift from Iden the artist to Iden the person. It includes some very significant and personal items from sketches of jewelry designs drawn by my father to my literal blood. It is easy to forget yourselves out here amid the sea of media. I don’t want that to happen. 2023 is going to be a big year for Iden and her art.
