#boycot Wix

Many people are not aware, but Wix is an Israeli corporation. It has also been pressuring employees to take a pro Israel stance and allowed Israel to use Wix to creat its propaganda/malware website Hamas.com.

i mean the reason why you see people going so hard for starbucks or mcdonalds to be boycotted is because theoretically you could crave a coffee or a burger on the daily. sodastream machines and puma shoes tho arent bought as often because theyre like 100 dollars. sometimes it isnt that deep

Friendly reminder that Wix.com is an Israeli-based company (& some website builders to look into instead)
I know the BDS movement is not targeting Wix.com specifically (see here for the companies they're currently boycotting) but since Wix originated in Israel as early as 2006, it would be best to drop them as soon as you can.
And while you're at it, you should leave DeviantArt too, since that company is owned by Wix. I deleted my DA account about a year ago not just because of their generative AI debacle but also because of their affiliation with their parent company. And just last month, DA has since shown their SUPPORT for Israel in the middle of Israel actively genociding the Palestinian people 😬
Anyway, I used to use Wix and I stopped using it around the same time that I left DA, but I never closed my Wix account until now. What WAS nice about Wix was how easy it was to build a site with nothing but a drag-and-drop system without any need to code.
So if you're using Wix for your portfolio, your school projects, or for anything else, then where can you go?
Here are some recommendations that you can look into for website builders that you can start for FREE and are NOT tied to a big, corporate entity (below the cut) 👇👇
Carrd.co
Tumblr media
This is what I used to build my link hub and my portfolio, so I have the most experience with this platform.
It's highly customizable with a drag-and-drop arrangement system, but it's not as open-ended as Wix. Still though, it's easy to grasp & set up without requiring any coding knowledge. The most "coding" you may ever have to deal with is markdown formatting (carrd provides an on-screen cheatsheet whenever you're editing text!) and section breaks (which is used to define headers, footers, individual pages, sections of a page, etc.) which are EXTREMELY useful.
There's limits to using this site builder for free (max of 2 websites & a max of 100 elements per site), but even then you can get a lot of mileage out of carrd.
mmm.page
Tumblr media
This is a VERY funny & charming website builder. The drag-and-drop system is just as open-ended as Wix, but it encourages you to get messy. Hell, you can make it just as messy as the early internet days, except the way you can arrange elements & images allows for more room for creativity.
Straw.page
Tumblr media
This is an extremely simple website builder that you can start from scratch, except it's made to be accessible from your phone. As such, the controls are limited and intentionally simple, but I can see this being a decent website builder to start with if all you have is your phone. The other options above are also accessible from your phone, but this one is by far one of the the simplest website builders available.
Hotglue.me
Tumblr media
This is also a very simple & rudimentary website builder that allows you to make a webpage from scratch, except it's not as easy to use on a mobile phone.
At a glance, its features are not as robust or easy to pick up like the previous options, but you can still create objects with a simple double click and drag them around, add text, and insert images or embeds.
Mind you, this launched in the 2010s and has likely stayed that way ever since, which means that it may not have support for mobile phone displays, so whether or not you wanna try your hand at building something on there is completely up to you!
Sadgrl's Layout Editor
Tumblr media
sadgrl.online is where I gathered most of these no-code site builders! I highly recommend looking through the webmaster links for more website-building info.
This simple site builder is for use on Neocities, which is a website hosting service that you can start using for free. This is the closest thing to building a site that resembles the early internet days, but the sites you can make are also responsive to mobile devices! This can be a good place to start if this kind of thing is your jam and you have little to no coding experience.
Although I will say, even if it sounds daunting at first, learning how to code in HTML and CSS is one of the most liberating experiences that anyone can have, even if you don't come from a website scripting background. It's like cooking a meal for yourself. So if you want to take that route, then I encourage to you at least try it!
Most of these website builders I reviewed were largely done at a glance, so I'm certainly missing out on how deep they can go.
Oh, and of course as always, Free Palestine 🇵🇸

BOYCOTTING FOR PALESTINE
The Official BDS Boycott Targets
The Updated List is Below:
EUROVISION. IT IS IN OUR TOP PRIORITY TO BOYCOTT EUROVISION
Tumblr media
Consumer Boycotts - a complete boycott of these brands
Axa
Puma
Carrefour
HP
Cevron
Caltex
Israeli produce
Re/max
Ahava
Texaco
Siemens
Sodastream
Organic Boycott Targets - boycotts not initiated by BDS but still complete boycott of these brands
Macdonald's
Dominos
Papa Johns
Burger King
Pizza Hut
Wix
Divestments and exclusion - pressure governments, institutions, investment funds, city councils, etc. to exclude from procurement contracts and investments and to divest from these
Elbit Systems
CAF
Volvo
CAT
Barclays
JCB
intel
HD Hyundai
TKH Security
HikVision
Pressure - boycotts when reasonable alternatives exist, as well as lobbying, peaceful disruptions, and social media pressure.
Google
Amazon
AirBnb
Booking.Com
Expedia
Disney
Teva
Here are some companies that strongly support Israel (but are not Boycott targets). There is no ethical consumption under capitalism and boycotting is a political strategy - not a moral one. If you did try to boycott every supporter of Israel you would struggle to survive because every major company supports Israel (as a result of attempting to keep the US economy afloat), that being said, the ones that are being boycotted by masses and not already on the organic boycott list are coloured red.

BDS is a Palestinian lead movement that gives information and guidance on boycotting things supporting Israel in the Free Palestine movement.
And they have released a new list. Which you can find here or at bdsmovement.net in the updates area.
They've split them into 4 categories:
1. Consumer Boycotts:
These are what you've probably already seen on their site. The BDS movement calls for a complete boycott of these brands.
These are: AXA, Puma, hp (Hewlett Packard), Siemans, Sodastream, Carrerfour, AHAVA, RE/MAX. As well any thing marked as "produced in Israel."
2. Divestment targets:
These are targets that BDS are trying to pressure governments, Universities and other institutions into stop using.
These are: Elbit systems, CAF, Volvo, Chevron, CAT, Barclays, HIK vision, JCB, HD Hyundai.
3. Pressure (Non Boycott) targets:
These are brands and services BDS are wanting to pressure to end their complicity in the Israeli aphartied.
These are: Amazon, Google, Expedia, Air bnb Booking.com, Disney.
4. Grassroot Organic boycotting targets:
These are the brands and services BDS didn't initatie in boycotting. What was started from things like social media, and BDS support people openly boycotting them.
These are: McDonald's, Burger King, PapaJohns, Pizza Hut, Wix etc.
All them go here, your Starbucks, your coca cola, Disney, that a lot of people have begun boycotting and calling out for that have taken root.
BDS do emphasise that a small targeted amount is best, it's what's worked for them in the past and present.
And what they've complied are the ones that they believe will have a bigger impact.
That being said they do note that "all peaceful popular efforts, including boycott and divestment, to hold all genuinely complicit corporations (and institutions) accountable for supporting Israel’s grave violations of Palestinian rights are justified and called for."
I suggest going to their website bdsmovement.net to see why they've chosen these specifically, and if you just wanna know more.

November 5th update on the official BDS Movement boycott to support Palestine:
Tumblr media
The BDS Movement have put out an explainer on what you should be boycotting and why, including a section on why a targeted boycott is being used.
"Many of the prohibitively long lists going viral on social media do the exact opposite of this strategic and impactful approach. They include hundreds of companies, many without credible evidence of their connection to Israel’s regime of oppression against Palestinians, making them ineffective."
The following are the current top priority boycott targets of the global BDS movement:
Consumer targets:
Siemens
PUMA
Carrefour
AXA
Hewlett Packard Inc (HP Inc)
SodaStream
Ahava
Israeli produce in your supermarkets
Corporate/Institutional boycott targets:
Elbit Systems
HD Hyundai/Volvo/CAT/JCB
Google and Amazon (join the No Tech For Apartheid campaign here)
Airbnb/Booking/Expedia
RE/MAX
Barclays
CAF
Chevron
HikVision
TKH Security
They also reference the grassroots organic boycotts of McDonald’s, Burger King, Papa John’s, Pizza Hut, WIX, etc.
"Remember, all Israeli banks and virtually all Israeli companies are complicit to some degree in Israel’s system of occupation and apartheid, and hundreds of international corporations and banks are also deeply complicit. We focus our boycotts on a small number of companies and products for maximum impact."
Please read the full article for an explanation of each boycott target, why a targetted boycott is being used, and more general information.

No Devlog This Week; Other Things Important
Hi all, it’s papaya. I’ve been dealing with sickness, exhaustion, and errands all week, so there’s nothing to show in the way of Soundless Android port updates. Therefore, there won’t be a devlog this Saturday/Sunday (depending on whether or not you’re subbed to the Patreon).
Normally, I don’t use the long-form content only channels to announce something as simple as this. That’s because there’s something else I’d like to bring up in this post.
My hope is that you have already seen the news about what’s going on in the Gaza Strip and have been paying attention. If you somehow haven’t, it has escalated to the point where Israeli forces have completely cut off the Internet connection in Gaza, silencing everyone who’s still alive. There is now an active plea to not let up the opposition in the face of the blackout.
If you have been wondering what you can do right now beyond sharing things online, here’s some things you can do:
Protest — Probably the most direct form of action there is. The Palestinian Youth Movement keeps track of protests happening on their Instagram.
Boycott — The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions movement has an official list of products and companies they’ve been asking people to boycott for many years here, but in addition people have been boycotting McDonald’s, Starbucks, Wix (and Deviantart), Domino’s, Pizza Hut, Papa John’s, Carrefour, and Burger King for their connections and donations to Israel.
Archive — Download photos and videos and use archive websites like archive.is to back up information.
Learn — Decolonize Palestine is an excellent resource on the history of Palestine, including history from before the establishment of the Israeli state. There is also a page dedicated to mythbusting.
Donate…? — As it stands, due to the blockades, getting direct aid to the Palestinians in Gaza is extremely difficult if not outright impossible. Try donating to activist legal fees, bail funds, and other such causes instead if you have been wanting to give money.
That’s all. Thank you for reading.

At the moment, there's not a lot of hope for Palestine as they have very little military and no food, so here's some things that can help:
- Boycotting brands that support Israel (the main ones that should be avoided are Starbucks, McDonald's, and Disney)
- Donating if you can (There are multiple places you can donate to Palestine, including UNICEF, Action For Humanity, and Human Appeal)
- Spreading Information (If you can't donate, try to spread information. If you have a platform with a few thousand followers, please use it. You don't need to show your face in videos. You don't even have to make a video. You can use any platform, such as Instagram or Tiktok.)
It really does not take a lot of effort to do these things. Children are dying, it is the least you can do.
Israel has attacked the one place that they said Palestinians would be safe. Thousands of people have died, more than half of them women and children.
More brands that support Israel:
KFC, Pizza Hut, Burger King, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Wix, Puma, Chanel, Givenchy, Louis Vuitton, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, Apple, Amazon, Adidas, Google, Meta, MasterCard, Microsoft, Nvidia, Netflix, Oracle, Pfizer, Disney, and Tesla.
You don't need to go to Starbucks everyday, there are other coffee shops that support Palestine.
There's more soda than Coca-Cola and Pepsi
There are more places to order from that aren't Amazon.
There's more things to watch other than Disney and Netflix.
There's more fast food places other than McDonald's, KFC, and Burger King.
There's more places to get clothes other than Louis Vuitton or Adidas.
There is no possible way that everyone can avoid all of these things, such as Google or Apple, but it's worth trying to avoid the main ones, which, as I said, are Starbucks, McDonald's, and Disney.
More places to donate to:
UNICEF, Action For Humanity, Human Appeal, UNRWA, Red Cross, PRCS, AFSC.
Heres the links to donate
Again, if you have over 1000 followers on any platform, use it and speak up.
If you can donate, please do. Even after donating, don't stop spreading information.

Do you have boycott fatigue?
Well guess who else dose, McDonald’s, Starbucks, Coca Cola, Israel and all those who support it!
We are making progress, they might pretend we aren’t, but we are!
Keep boycotting, because it’s working!

⚠ Deviantart is zionist
I want to make as many people aware of this as possible, as there is next to no discussion on this. The CEO of Wix (a large corporation which bought Deviantart and is also responsible for the recent AI shit) is a proud zionist. Reminder that this guy has most likely made a ton of money off of our stolen art also.
There wasn't much reason to use modern Deviantart in the first place, but there's less of a reason now. I think people would absolutely be talking about this shit if they knew. I don't want my DA account anymore... I need to archive the stuff, but it may take some time.
I'm sorry my blog has been filled with depressing real world shit, unfortunately, this is just what things have become.
Also I don't want people to be shamed for using Deviantart still, most artists have no choice. It's a waste of time to blame individuals over the CEOs and politicians - they're the ones doing this after all. Boycotting is a collective effort yes, I just see a lot of misguided anger right now.

Im a small artist and have done art commissions for years and want to make it my full time job. Unfortunately, months before I became aware of Palestine/Gaza news my Wix membership renewed … I can’t get a refund for it now. I really need to make my website but I feel awful, like I’ve already hurt people without realizing. Either I stay on this platform and feel terrible or I pay a lot of money I didn’t budget for to switch .. I’m not sure what to do. ;; is squarespace a good alternative to wix? In terms of the boycott? I know this is kind of unconventional but .. do you have any idea what I should do? Thank you ..
Honestly, personally, I would still stay on wix just because you already paid them and you might as well use their services for now. I would turn off automatic renewal and remember to purchase the URL after your year is up. I myself use carrd for my website, I'm also an artist.
I wouldn't feel awful — you didn't know! I also had a website on wix a couple years ago before I realized what they were doing... so it's fine, especially since you're willing to make a change later! Its like — if you already have an hp computer, you wont throw it away and buy a new one all of a sudden. Youll only be losing money. The goal of the boycott is to directly impact their economy as much as possible so that they're forced to make a change.
I've seen some people use a sticker that says "this is my last hp product" for their computer so that people know they are boycotting, so you could put a similar line in your bio if you think that will help?
Thanks so much for sending this in. Please don't feel bad! It means so much that you care enough about Palestinians to want to make a change.

PRODUCTS/CORPORATIONS YOU SHOULD BE BOYCOTTING (NOT BUYING FROM) DUE TO THEIR SUPPORT OF ISRAEL!
Boycotting these places is the least you can do. You will not die without these wallahi. Check out most of these places' stocks; they are going down. If you think "Oh I'm just one person I won't affect it" you will. It takes many to make a change. Be that change.

Hey, do you have any evidence for the zionism claim? I tried to check but all I'm seeing is a recurring hoax about a letter some blogger fake, the 2014 thing (all stores in Israel have since shut down, which i imagine was the goal achieved), and the union thing.
My post is specifically about how the popularity of hating on Starbucks is leading people to ignore the companies BDS actually says to boycott, so people still get Papa John's etc because calls for action only mention Starbucks and it sticks in powerless people's heads as The Big Bad instead of Burger King. If EVERY post mentions Starbucks, which is a peripheral player at best, and none of them mention Chevron or Wix or Expedia, then people will naturally assume that boycotting Starbucks is the most important and that if another group was more important to boycott, that would be the one getting talked about.
If people have evidence of even casual zionism by the brand, which I imagine some people view their lack of anti-zionism as (silence in the face of violence, etc) and choose to boycott on that basis, that's entirely reasonable. It's just really frustrating to see it bandied about as THE Big Bad Israeli Ally when Carrefour and McDonald's and HP are what the people who track these things SAY is important, because it gives people with a passing interest but no time to research bad information on what's most important.
of course im not saying starbucks is the huge end all be all of boycotting, but it does have ties to isr*el and zi*nism. for me, even a small tie or statement from someone associated with starbucks in support of isr*el is enough for me.
i found a website:
and theres a checker by the same website:
hope this helped <33 free palestine 🇵🇸🇵🇸

How can you help Gaza/Palestine in Israel? I know of the click-once-a-day donation site and the boycott list, but what else can someone do to help? Is there any groups, or anything you can do to participate in to help?
1. If you're an American, you need to call your Representatives, and not vote for either Democrats or Republicans, also knowing which senators etc the AIPAC (pro Israel org/lobby) funds might be helpful. The biggest political & military aid comes from the US & therefore the pressure should be the strongest by the allies there.
2. @/ Pal_action on twitter is an excellent account to follow & support. It takes actions to shut down Elbit systems, one of the major weapons manufacturing industries that supplies Israel weapons. It is mainly based in the UK, but they have activists in other parts of the world like Japan too.
3. Follow the BDS list of boycott. Boycott Disney, Starbucks & McDonald's as well. (Tho I understand that you're already doing that).
4. Uninstall/don't use Israeli apps. There are many apps like Fiverr & Wix that are Israeli & I think we should be boycotting those too if we could. (There's a list on my pinned post).
5. @/careforGaza on twitter is a non-profit charity in aid of helping the needy families of Palestine.
6. @/Mirna_elhelbawi on twitter provides e sims for Gaza/Palestine and Sudan.
7. Follow & support Electronic Intifada on YouTube and Twitter.
8. Following journalists on ground and non Palestinian investigative journalists helps too, spread their videos so more people are aware/up to date.
Palestinian reporters on twitter: @/azaizamotaz9 , @/wizardbisan , @/byPlestia
Non Palestinian journalists on twitter: @/davidsheen , @/AbbyMartin , @/dancohen3000 , @/MaxBluementhal
(David Sheen's YouTube channel is extremely informative too & I would recommend it to people wanting to educate themselves)
