Anime spotlight - Bungou to Alchemist: Shinpan no Haguruma
Another guilty pleasure as I watched it for the bishounen buy actually got a bit more of a unique plot.
The plot is Famous writers throughout history find themselves being reincarnated by a mysterious, unseen entity known as the Alchemist. With their souls confined and bound to an expansive library, they are tasked by the Alchemist to jump into books to purify the pages of monsters called Taints. Along the way, they must also rescue and recruit fellow authors trapped within the very stories they themselves had written.
Its Japanese author of classic literature reincarnated as hot boys that then have to dive into the books to save them from evil entity’s who hate literature and want to erase it. Also along the way save authors who have got trapped in their books. You get to see some nice telling of classic Japanese novels but lets be honest you get to see some very attractive boys fighting evil spirits and saving each other.
The animation is gorgeous and so are the character designs plus I really love the opening. Also all the authors work in pairs to save books so you get a whole bunch of boys with close bonds and that means lots of ships. I personally like Ango and Oda but really with 6 pairs of boys you get 6 ships. The action is cool when it ramps up and while it does focus too much on the main pair and their background its a fun watch. I’d like to have had more time with some of the other characters but as an easy watch can’t complain as it know its target audience.
Didn’t think I’d have to make this post here but Here we Go!
The new anime Bungou to Alchemist, Shinpan no Haguruma just aired.
and it’s based on a fantastic game, I have nothing but high hopes for the anime going forward.
BUT
This time around, the characters are tied much closer to the actual authors, and both the writers of the game and the lovely people running the English wiki rely on their works and more importantly, their google search results being clear.
It’s an unspoken rule in the Japanese fandom to Not Tag Posts with Full Names.
Let me say that again.
Tagging posts with the characters’ full names is not okay.
“But Peach!” I hear you say. “It doesn’t do any harm!” It does. It makes accessing information about the actual authors much more difficult, not to mention a fanartist literally dissapeared because of it once.
Well then, how do you tag Bungou to Alchemist posts?
Using shortened forms of their names (Like Dazai -> Dzi or Akutagawa -> Aktgw) is commonly used, or even just tag them with one name (Just BunAl Dazai or Just BunAl Akutagawa)
This series is older than just the anime, and it’s thrived because of the information we can gather. Please be respectful of the people working on Bungou to Alchemist, as well as the authors themselves.
tl;dr: Don’t tag Bungou to Alchemist posts with full names.
Am I going insane or their hair and eye colors are the opposite of each other's? Also ppls you should check the pixiv tag #太中(文アル) this ship is so cute and underrated!
A new key visual for the "Bungou to Alchemist: Shinpan no Haguruma" TV anime has been unveiled. Its broadcast is scheduled to begin April 2020.
