I made a post on Facebook quoting Laura and ODG conversation. ODG: When you gonna give me some play? Laura: Look I am trying to decide between two guys and if I were looking, you’re not my type. ODG: What is your type. Laura: Guys with their names on credit cards not their arm!

Then in that response someone says, "Laura sounded like a gold digger and only got with Steve when he started talking to NASA" First of all Laura got with Steve and had feelings way prior to that so that's not true. Also, heaven forbid Laura gets a man who makes great money and has more than a penny to his name. Laura Lee Winslow did not bust her ass all her through school getting straight As, bust her ass to get to make money at a secret second job to buy herself a car, get accepted to Harvard and then bust her ass through college maintaining straight As just to marry a lowlife thug. She wanted to be a lawyer and is probably a damn good one. If Laura Lee Winslow is on her TLC No Scrubs game then good for her! She is way too good to marry Cornelius Urkel

Did he ever struggle with gripping things too delicately and having them slip from his grasp, or accidentally denting or cracking something from holding it too tightly? i've talked about jesse's arm before, but i've been meaning to elaborate on that hc post so i might as well do that here — answering your questions along the way, probably focusing more on how he handles the thing as opposed to how it works.

so, for starters,

i hc that jesse lost his arm during his blackwatch days. we see that he clearly still has his flesh arm in, not only his blackwatch skin, but also the UPRISING comic — which takes place in london, towards the end of his overwatch career. this would probably lead most to believe it was an incident that happened during his vigilante years — i, however, beg to differ.

losing an arm is HARD. and replacing it with a prosthetic isn't cheap. i personally don't believe jesse would have the resources or support needed for either of those things outside of overwatch. i believe the amputation took place during his tussle in london ( on his little " vacation ", during blackwatch's suspension ), further decommissioning blackwatch as a whole.

now, the reason i'm telling you this, is because i need you to understand that this was what's called a TRAUMATIC AMPUTATION, meaning the arm wasn't surgically removed in a controlled environment. because of this, there was pretty significant damage to certain things like his nervous system, the pending port rejection not helping his case. this would make certain things like controlling the prosthetic and reading the incoming sensory input difficult at times.

in case you don't feel like reading that other hc post: the prosthetic jesse receives from overwatch DOES allow for sensory input, meaning he can register things like, temperature and pressure. and it's pretty good at doing so. HOWEVER, because of the damage caused by the amputation and infections following surgery, the accuracy and reliability varies, typically triggered by things like stress and temperature. but overall, on a good day, he's retained somewhere around 90% of his normal movement abilities and input registration. the most noticeable for him being a slight numbness in his thumb, which gets incredibly worse in the cold, sometimes making it difficult for him to grip things.

he's right handed, so it's not too often he'll use the prosthetic for primary movements, but he's dropped a glass or two over the years because of it. he's also done things like pulled open doors and drawers with incredible force, unable to tell how much power is being used. having more power and force available to him is another thing he had to get used to. in a quick knee-jerk response, it may be difficult for him to judge how much force he's putting into his grip or throw if his focus is not on the arm itself.

but, for the most part, he is typically aware of his abilities.

he's used his unmatched grip strength to crush things like phones and other electronic devices. and, with the added bonus of a prosthetic elbow and bicep, he's definitely thrown overly hefty punches and won quite a few arm wrestling matches.

he also uses his prosthetic to hold his cigars and ash his cigarettes, purposefully to avoid burns and tar left behind by the smoke.

now, because he can still register temperature, it's not often he'll do things like, use the prosthetic to grab a hot plate out of the microwave. it was built like this to not only help AVOID situations like forgetting that his other hand is not metal, but also to help aid in PROTECTING it. the thing's not indestructible, and they didn't want him treating it as such. while it's not necessarily fragile, it still has it's limits, like any machine. but, in more pressing situations, he has used it's higher melting point and stress resistance to his advantage.

but, speaking of damage: because of the way the arm is docked, it's typically all or nothing when it comes to both input and output. if he's not getting any sensory response, his arm is also going to be either limp or locked up, unable to control it ( which one depends on how the arm was disabled — it will go limp when properly disconnected from the base, but it will seize up if it's damaged beyond use while connected ). so he hasn't had the exact scenario occur that you stated above, in passing something hot or cold between hands.

BUT, i will say because of this, there was one time a short in a wire caused jesse to be latched onto the handle of the communal fridge for an hour before someone realized he was missing.

Hmm...I feel like throwing out some last minute speculation on the fates of our 5 remaining Phyrexian planeswalkers.

Ajani: I feel like there's a good chance that one of the Phyrexian walkers might escape and go into hiding as a way for WotC to enable an eventual return of the Phyrexians, and I think Ajani is one of our more likely candidates for that. Wandering about creating secret cults of Norn around the Multiverse. It could even keep Elspeth otherwise occupied for future stories as she pursues Ajani, feeling personally responsible for not stopping him sooner.

However, I also think there's a decent chance he'll be one of our casualties from this arc. I think it could easily go either way.

Nahiri: I think there's like a 90% chance she's gonna die. She's not necessarily super popular, I'm not sure WotC has any ideas for what to do with her beyond endlessly rehashing her feud with Sorin, and we are getting a shiny new R/W planeswalker with Quintorius...so yeah.

Jace: There's no way they're killing off Jace. He's still one of the most popular characters and the face of the franchise. His compleated form is noticably a lot less physically modified than the others. He's almost guaranteed to get cured.

Nissa: The other OG Gatewatch member in the group. The fact that she's still alive gives me hope that she'll stay like that. Hopefully, fear of being accused of "burying your gays" might be enough to stay WotC's hand. Plus, while her physical transformation was more extreme than Jace's, a lot of the changes seem grafted on and if I'm reading the last story correctly they may have been mostly destroyed by the explosion on the platform. Maybe Elspeth will discover that she can make Halo and that combining it with Melira's immunity they can purge Phyrexian corruption from a person, a fact that they discover when they inadvertently purge Nissa trying to stop her? Listen, let me cling to this.

Vraska: Listen WotC, you already compleated and then killed off one of my other favorite planeswalkers with Tamiyo. Don't you dare do that to Vraska too.

Like, I am genuinely worried that there's a non-zero chance that they will kill off Vraska. My only, only hope is that I think her and Jace's absence in the story so far is because they've been sent to Ravnica and since I don't think they'll kill of Jace, whatever method they use to capture him might mean Vraska also gets captured instead of killed, and then the two of them can be cured during Aftermath. (Like Nissa, I feel like the snake tail was grafted on, in this case over her legs...or at least WotC can easily handwave it as that if they want to return her to her original appearance.)

I will say, Vraska is my runner-up in the "most likely compleated planeswalker to survive the end of the arc and lurk in the shadows as a way to bring the Phyrexians back" and I will begrudgingly accept that fate if it means she might be healed later.

Well, I guess we'll know for certain by next Tuesday how well I guessed (and maybe some of these will be answered today.)

Good afternoon, Star! On the topic of Vampires, I love to hear your thoughts about William Solaire. Like, what's your headcanons about him. Physical appearance? His life pre and post Vampirisim? His thoughts on modern depictions and pop cultures about Vampires. Any silly habits of his or whatever! You're very insightful and I just love reading everyone's headcanons about our local Vampire King!

Let's hash this out, shall we? Lay bare everything my brain can come up with about Clan Dad™

(It's a lot. This is long. Everything is under the cut)

William Solaire is not old. Like, he was turned when he was, like, 40. At first glance, he still looks young as f^&*. Barely any wrinkles. Only the slightest peppering of grey hair in his dark hair.

But the longer you look, the more you see the weight of five centuries on his shoulders. The older he looks in spirit

Physical-appearance-wise, he's French from the late 1400's (1470's/80's/90's or so, if I had to guess). People were short back then. I headcanon Vincent as 6'3". Yeah, William Solaire is a solid 5'4" at the tallest. But that doesn't make him unintimidating. He can be scary as hell when he wants to be. He's Old Blood. He didn't survive this long on accident.

He's got darker brown hair, but it's not dark enough brown to be mistaken for black. I think he tends to wear it a bit longer. He used to be full Medieval Times long, like ponytails and braids and stuff, but as times changed, he got rid of a few inches. It's not quite long enough to pull back into a proper ponytail, anymore, but he can still bind it back when he needs to.

Silver eyes now, obviously, but they used to be brown.

Also, again. French. 1400's. That, and the voice—he's a white guy. And no sun for over five hundred years? He's pale as f^&*.

As for his life pre-vampirism... I don't know enough about France in the late 1400's to say for certain. I mean, I'm guessing when he was born Europeans still didn't know the Americas existed. I doubt he was super well-educated pre-vampirism. Unless he was nobility, which... idk doesn't seem to be the case? I mean, Mr. Clan Dad™ is way too chill and down-to-Earth to be a snotty noble. I think his Distinguished-ness(?) really comes from being over five hundred years old and the king of a clan. So he seems a lot fancier than he means to be.

Post-vampirism, I think he got a really good education—especially as education became more and more readily available for more people. This man is quite savvy at most things. He and Vincent can talk cars (he was around when they were invented) until Lovely falls asleep of boredom. Lovely brought up a hobby of theirs to him once and he was deeply knowledgable about it too.

I like to think that he still makes most of his own clothes. And he does it the way his mother taught him to. Meaning, even if he uses modern fabric and a sewing machine, his clothing still is in the style of late-1400's France.

I also think he dipped to the Americas not long after Europeans found out they existed. Juuust because Europe in the Middle Ages wasn't really the most... welcoming of vampires, we'll say.

He thinks a lot of modern pop culture depictions are amusing. Just don't mention Twilight to him. Whatever you do. He will go on a 6-hour long rant, and sometimes you can't tell whether he's dragging it or praising it—because he's speaking in about six languages at once when one language doesn't have the word with the connotation he wants so he switches to another—but then that one is lacking the proper vocabulary he wants too so he'll switch to another—

Because, yes, he knows at least ten languages. Why the hell not? He's been around for a long time. He's seen some sh!+. He's done a lot. Been a lot of places as travel became easier. He'd want to learn a lot of languages.

I like to imagine the Solaire Clan is as big and influential as it is because the vampires in it are from all over the world, and a lot of them are on the older side. Vincent, Sam, Frederick, Bright Eyes, and now Lovely are the youngest members of the clan. Even Alexis is on the younger end. None of the other members are anywhere near William's age—but he's been adopting strays since he was... probably about 100. None of the current members of the clan are any of his original strays though. They all either got hunted down, drove themselves mad, or went on to form their own clans when they got old enough. The next-oldest in the Solaire Clan now is, like, not quite 200.

Also he knew Bram Stoker from a distance and found Dracula to be an amusing piece of literature

Now, as for silly habits...

He and Lovely downloaded an entirely separate texting app specifically for sharing embarrassing stories about Vincent. Vincent knows about it, but just begrudgingly accepted it

William's love language was gift-giving long before he was wealthy, and if you really mean a lot to him, he will hand-make a gift for you like he would have done back when he was human. It is not uncommon for a clan member to find him in his office whittling a piece of wood (he made Sam a wolf after Sam and Darlin' got together). But here's the thing, he did it in his youth as a hobby, and so when said clan member walks in on him, he's lying across his desk, head and shoulders dangling upside-down off of it, with his tongue between his teeth, not even noticing there are wood shavings in his hair.

No one in the clan (except maybe Vincent and Alexis) are brave enough to ever bring those moments up.

He also twists his hair around his fingers when he's thinking and sticks his tongue out when he's concentrating

Random Headcanons:

He left his maker the second he was in control of himself enough to survive, and never looked back. He doesn't even know if they're still alive, and he doesn't care. He doubts they are though—he hasn't noticed the maker-progeny bond in the back of his mind in centuries.

He always wears a lot of rings.

Vincent has a thing for wearing nice watches. He got it from Will.

He's very bitter that the piercing in his right ear healed perfectly when he turned into a vampire and nothing works to repierce it. (Ask him about it sometime if you want another hours-long rant in several different languages)

He didn't technically help found D.A.M.N., but the founders were friends of his

He recently rediscovered nail polish (he forgot it existed for a long time—centuries make him... a little spacey sometimes) and now quite enjoys wearing it.

He's from the time when pink was the masculine color and blue was the feminine color. That color swap happened in WWII. It is recent. Especially for a 500+-year-old vampire. He always wears lots of pink. Why wouldn't he?

He's had partners before but never anyone he's wanted to spend eternity with. And may or may not be somewhere on the asexual spectrum?

He's considered Vincent his son since the moment Vincent turned. The fact that their relationship was tumultuous for a time reaffirmed that for him. No family is 100% happy 100% of the time. He cried when Vincent took his last name.

Part One

Sitting at a table near the windows of the cafeteria, Jeno's leg nervously shakes. Every few seconds, he checks his phone, making sure the time is correct, and that he hasn't received another text or something like that saying that Donghae is actually going to show up.

He didn't give his best friend food poisoning for him to just actually come and intrude on your time together.

Of course, it took a bit of planning on Jeno's part. Crying his sob story to Donghae. Secretly scheming to plan something for the three of you under the premise of 'Donghae will be there the whole time' without you knowing Jeno will actually also be there. For all you know, it was supposed to just be you and Donghae hanging out today.

Luckily, Jeno made sure Donghae didn't text you beforehand saying he had to cancel, so as far as Jeno knows, you should be here any minute. At least, that's what Donghae told him.

Glancing around one final time, Jeno's eyes widen slightly as he sees you entering the cafeteria. His heart hammers away in his chest as he sees you walking towards where he's sitting, making your way to the agreed upon spot to meet Donghae. Only, before you even reach his table, you're stopping, a frown pulling at your features just as you turn around to look the other way. Maybe you missed seeing Donghae?

Jeno watches you carefully, noting how you pull out your phone and seemingly make a call. His nerves skyrocket, and he slowly stands, carefully making his way close enough to you so he can overhear what you're saying.

"Donghae, what's going on?" You keep your voice low, leaning against one of those privacy walls that separate a certain section of the foodcourt. You're silent for a few moments as you listen to what he says, your frown only becoming deeper. "Was this your plan the whole time? To get me and him to spend time together?"

Jeno's heart pangs as you still refuse to even speak his name after the game last week. He looks up just in time to see your shoulders fall slightly, a sigh escaping your lips.

"Just because he's waiting for me-" your lips close in a thin line, "fine, but I'm not staying long. Next time, warn me first, or at least text me that you're not feeling well. I could have made you soup. I hope you feel better."

With those words, you're hanging up and slipping your phone in your pocket with another sigh. Turning back around, you frown, gaze drifting over where you know you saw Jeno last. Only, he's no longer there.

Just as you go to shake your head, a voice behind you startles you, causing you to jump. Turning around, you come face to face with a visibly nervous Jeno.

"Sorry," he shoots you a small, sheepish smile, "I didn't mean to scare you."

"So," your eyes trail over his figure, analyzing the way he fiddles with the hem of his shirt, "he bailed on you, too?"

Jeno swallows the dryness in his throat, "well, I don't think bail is the correct term."

You quirk a brow, "considering how desperately he's been trying to get me to meet up with you, I wouldn't put it past him to plan something like this and then fake an illness to get us to be alone together."

"Oh," he scratches the back of his head. "I don't think he's faking this, he rarely gets sick."

"Yeah, you're right," you cross your arms, looking at him with suspicion in your eyes. "You sound so sure of it, though. Do you know something I don't?"

Jeno's heart nearly stops beating, worry creeping in that you know exactly what he did.

"Nah, I'm just playing," you huff, amusedly, unaware of the sigh of relief Jeno breathes. "I hope he's okay, food poisoning sucks."

He nearly frowns. Why are you so worried about Donghae when he's the one standing right in front of you? You should only be worried about him. No matter, he'll make sure that that's the case soon enough. After all, he's the only one you'll ever need.

"Anyways, since he's not coming I'm just going to go home-"

"Wait!" Jeno's outburst surprises even him, so he clears his throat. "I mean, you're here already. We could do something... together. I'd love to get to know you better."

Again, you eye him suspiciously, mulling him over. "Hmm, I'd rather not-"

"Please," he's desperate, and he knows he is, but he'll do anything to get you to spend the day with him, whether you know he's there or not. Anything. "I know you don't like me very much, Donghae's told me, but just give me a chance. Please. Give me a chance to show you I'm not like all those rumours make me out to be."

The few moments you take to look him over and contemplate his words feels like an eternity to him. Jeno can hear his heartbeat ringing in his ears the whole time, and he finds he's never been this anxious before, not even before the championship game.

Only you could make him like this. Only you are the one thing he cares about above all else, and he will stop at nothing to prove it to you in any and every way he can.

You let out a sigh, your shoulders relaxing slightly, "fine, but I'm only going to stay for an hour. With that what you will."

Immediately, his face is lighting up with a smile at your words.

Perfect. An hour is all he needs.

Okay let's try this again! I tried to use different genres and there are a few listed I haven't seen but have heard of that just make sense. I'm not sure especially after everything if anyone will be into things that are too intense or dark but their are a few

Modern M6's Favorite TV Shows

Asra💜

I can totally see Asra being into trashy reality romance shows. Mostly out of morbid curiosity or flat out hate watch, his favorite being 90 Day Fiancé. The one they actually do enjoy is Catfish and might get too invested/emotional with some couples.

Their all time favorite is probably heart felt like The Good Place or maybe This Is Us. They primarily enjoy rom-coms like Gilmore Girls, Jane the Virgin, New Girl, etc.

Likes to watch Rick and Morty or the Midnight Gospel to just chill and vibe with.

Nadia💖

She would love most thing's Shondaland; Scandal, even Bridgerton (she doesn't care if it's a guilty pleasure) yet isn't as into Gossip Girl. She also likes Castle and detective dramedies like it. Even House of Cards is just so intriguing to her.

She likes Private Practice and Grey's Anatomy much to Julian's dismay. I can see her liking royalty biopics too like the Crown. It might not be completely accurate but it's entertaining.

At the same time she's kinda picky. She'll try most things but sometimes she just can't get into a show for whatever reason.

Julian🖤

His favorites are things he doesn't have to think about after a long day but still enjoys a good anthology. He likes the Great British Bake Off for this reason and because they're all so nice to each other!

While he loves certain concepts and characters he just can't sit through most medical dramas (Scrubs however, he loves because it's a goofy fun time). He's open to most things and actually can get into alot of different shows. I'm almost convinced he'd love Sherlock or Doctor Who, definitely loves The Mandalorian and Andor.

I can see him liking period shows like the Marvelous Ms. Maisel or Downton Abbey (Nadia recommended it). I also get the feeling he'd like Better Call, Saul!

Muriel💚

He'll watch whatever is on but isn't super partial to anything. When he watches something on his own or gets to pick there's a pattern in themes or aesthetics though.

Hilda, Anne with an E, and to an extent Outlander (sometimes might skip through scenes) are his favorites. He prefers light hearted, cozy shows but isn't opposed to some good plot heavy shows. Will cry when his favorites end or get cancelled.

At the same time just PBS cooking, travel, and gardening shows specifically are his favorite to put on in the background.

Portia🧡

She gets really into the darker, spooky scary stuff like Black Mirror and American Horror Story alongside the Walking Dead. She has her own theories for everything! (Nadia also got her into Good Girls.)

I can see her getting really into Cartoon Network shows like Infinity Train, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Adventure Time, Over the Garden Wall, ect. She'd also love Summer Camp Island.

Besides that she's just really into Fantasy and Adventure. She's pretty open to trying out any show especially if it has those elements.

Lucio❤️

He has seen all of Jersey Shore and every single spinoff. No one is shocked, those are his comfort shows. He likes other reality TV like Big Brother too. I could see him liking Shameless for the same absurd antics and comedy.

As much as he loves adult comedies like South Park, and Big Mouth he does like other animated shows. Ren and Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life, Cat-Dog, and obviously Fairly Odd-Parents to name a few. Basically, any cartoon from the 90s.

Still sometimes he gets invested in other shows but usually it's because someone else got him into it like How I Met Your Mother. In which case it'll be a struggle to get him to not binge it on his own.

Shows they all enjoy or even get together to watch:

Steven Universe, What We Do In The Shadows, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Friends, The Office, Parks and Rec, The Witcher, Game of Thrones, Stranger Things (maybe), Bojack Horseman (They refuse to let anyone/each other watch it alone though), Gravity Falls, Avatar the Last Airbender, Legend of Kora, The Good Place, Archer, Bob's Burgers, Bluey (I said what said), The Owl House, Letterkenny, Cheers, etc.

They are acutely aware of which characters they match up with each show and find it hilarious. Well everyone but Lucio for obvious reasons. (If anyone wants those matches, just let me know! lol)
