imagine what if all the byers (or at least will and jonathan) are staying with the wheelers during the upside down apocalypse in s5. holly, being the little 6 yro that she is knowing no personal boundaries, has been snooping in mike’s room when he’s not home and found the letters he wrote to will.

as the byers are moving into to the wheeler household, holly beams and jumps up to hug will because she hasn’t seen him in so long ”will!” and greets her just as enthusiastically “hi holly! how are you?” still smiling she says “good! i have something for you!” will looks at her surprised “you do?” she grins ”yeah!” she starts bounding up the stairs to get whatever it is she has for him. as she gets to the top of the stairs she yells down “i found it in mike’s room!”

mike who had been half listening whips around when he hears what holly just said. realizing what she might be referring to he yells and tries to stop her “hey! holly! wait! stay out of my room!” but its too late as holly is now coming down the stairs with a stack of envelopes in her hand and she hands them to will “see! they all have your name on them”

will takes them from her hand and looks at them confused. meanwhile, mike behind him has turned white as a ghost and started to panic as he looks at all his letters to will that are signed “love, mike” and where never meant to be sent are now in the hands of their recipient

when they get older mike complains over his graying hair and his wrinkles and crow's feet, and will kisses the pout off his lips and tells him he looks beautiful. mike scoffs and turns away, thinking will is just saying this to appease his whining, but will grabs mike's face and makes it clear to him that he genuinely means it. because aside from the fact that mike would always be beautiful to him — just being able to grow old with mike is the most beautiful thing in the world to will. it's all he's wanted since he was a kid. so with each new white hair, each new wrinkle formed — it's another reminder to will that his childhood dream has come true. it's another reminder that will byers is spending his forever with mike wheeler.

Unpopular opinion maybe, but I don't see Byler having kids. Like, at all. 🤷

Thinking about him and how afraid he probably is of the dark and the cold

He probably sleeps with all the lights on and on bad nights drags a space heater into his room to sit in front of. He probably wraps up in blankets even if he’s sweating because feeling safe is worth it.

And god, he probably hates anything near his mouth at all. And even when he’s sick, he probably avoids going to the doctor, because it reminds him of his time in the hospital, not knowing whether they were truly trying to help him or not.

If the Byers move into Hopper’s old cabin now that they’re back in Hawkins, would Will remember being exorcised there? I doubt it, but if he did, I can’t imagine how weird he’d feel being there.
