I have a Masters in Classics and I dare not touch anything about Greek mythology on tumblr because over half of it is people trying to make their headcanons canon, uncited nonsense, and straight-up making shit up, all of which ends up becoming my job to clear up for a lot of clearly passionate but misguided college kids. Remember kids, don't just believe it because it's on the internet and sounds cool. Always look for cited sources and check reputable sources to see if they lend any credence to the claim. There are two primary hosts (or names really) for this system: Ashkie (The collective name and main host, He/Her) and Phillis (A stress reliver host, He/She/Flare/Fire/Starry/Solar).

We also have a known ex-host that is steadily coming back to becoming a host, Masky (He/Him).

Some of us use the term 'sysmates', others use the term 'roommates'. Both mean the same thing to us, and more based on personal preference.

It's rare for us to have only one person in front, but it helps keep our overall memory.

This morning I got into a debate about ChatGPT which is already not a pleasant experience and it was with my bio prof which is a less pleasant experience but the most batshit thing about it is how the debate started. Because what happened is that the class was about blood (normal thing to learn about in a human biology class) and because it's October the prof included a picture of Dracula on the first slide. That's fine, that's good, that's cool. He asked, "We'll have to be in class on Halloween, should I tell everyone they have to dress up?" Normal thing to say when class is just starting, imo. I responded with what I think is an equally normal thing - "I'm already dressing up, one of my professors is offering extra credit if I dress as a literary character." And he paused, and he thought about it, and he said, "Literature professors - they're real scary about using ChatGPT."

since we're on the topic of mandated besties i wanna talk abt dana and liara bc i tripped the other day and got really into them

#for dana liara was an instant surrogate sister #even on her relationship chart she skips neutral/respect and they're friends from the start #and this makes sense for dana as an eldest child who lost all of her little siblings on mindoir #there's this sense of protection and willingness from dana #going out of her way to check on liara not in a coddling way but out of recognition for just how young she is and their mission can't be #-easy on her #i wouldn't say they were particularly close in me1 (at least not from dana's perspective. she was closer to ash and wrex--equals-- #something liara couldn't be for her again in a sister way) but liara idolized her anyway and WANTED to be seen as an equal #bc dana is one of the first people to care for her like this and she latches onto that #BUT liara recovering dana's body was a huge betrayal of trust for dana and opened her eyes to the unhealthy sort of attachment she #-unwittingly allowed liara to form. she as an eldest sister feels she has to take some form of responsibility for liara's obsession #so in me2 she's cold with her and liara's posturing can't hide how hurt this makes her feel #and she helps her become the shadow broker but cuts her off there and this absolutely breaks liara because she did everything for dana !! #she did it for her !! her friend her sister her idol !! yes she crossed a boundary but how could she have let her go !! #and her and liara's friendship ends off in me2 very bleakly and with liara trying to keep up her callous girlboss persona to make #-it seem as if she's matured -- the thing that put her and dana at a distance in me1 -- but she's broken and introspective #and so then in me3 things are just as tense with dana and liara as they are with kaidan but in a much softer way. much less volatile #liara may have put on her calculated facade but being around dana reduced her to that same hopeful desperate to please child she was deep #down. desperate to gain recognition and forgiveness from her older sister. not in an overt way but in her body language and tone of voice-- #hesitant. reflective. careful. perhaps guilty. but wanting to be back in dana's good graces because she clings to that validation and #-recognition. so for the majority of me3 they work on their friendship and liara building up trust with dana again #and dana finally looks at her as an equal -- still sisterly. still young. -- but she doesn't need to treat her differently like she used to #and liara grows immensely. still changed by the past two years. still battling herself inside. but so much healthier #until that final scene with liara resting her head on her shoulder feels EARNED #okay that's my.. rant..? my paragraph?? i like this iteration of liara as a young growing kid the best it makes me ill #especially as a youngest sister who idolized one of my brothers to a similarly self-destructive degree as liara #if u read this i kissa u on the lips !! i know it's very different from canon liara/shepard but it compels me more #and i (personally) think leans into her obsession/creepiness thus adding to her complexity and exploring her character !! #anyways.txt #ch: dana shepard

we went to dinner with my parents last night and i was talking about how i'm nervous about the idea of fte because of how exhausting my previous position was and my dad was like "yeah don't even think about fte for a year or two" and i was like... ok so maybe what happened to me there really wasn't cool? wild

I think the funniest and best part about dnf to me is that at the end of the day they're just two best friends. Putting all possible romantic implications aside, they're two guys who have over 19k fanfiction works in a tag about them being together, they flirt on stream and they actively toss fuel on the fire/engage in the fact that people think they might be dating. Dream will like fanart on twitter with heavy implications of them being in a romantic relationship or that are straight up tagged dreamnotfound. George managed to talk about dnf so much that he fooled a friend who he's met on multiple occasions and probably talks to on semi-regular basis into thinking that he's was legitimately dating Dream/was gay. They put a donation goal of 50k for a charity stream in order to reveal like 3 texts, one of which read 'think about this dick fucko'. Dream paid George four thousand dollars to respond to a text of his with the 🤤emoji. Dream took an online quiz titled 'Are You In Love With Your Best Friend' while in a discord room with a couple thousand people listening in and he did it twice both times with said best friend listening in . There's been a fanfiction posted about them that broke ao3 three times and is currently one of the top fics on ao3 with over 2 million hits. It's surpassed in views only by another mcyt fic and a haikyuu fic. (Although it does have more kudos then both.) The bee video. "I can be your pet". George has talked about committing marriage fraud. Dream held a fanfiction contest wherein said popular ship was allowed. Their friend group brings it up as a joke frequently. George sent Dreams mom a message saying they were dating. Dream tells George what kind of haircut he should get and George calls Dream in the middle of said haircut to make sure it looks like he said. Dream has a room dedicated to fans' gifts, letters, etc. and in it there's a corner for dnf things. They were going to meetup but covid happened. They faked a meetup. Waiting is painful. George will look at the colors green and blue and say dnf. "Why now?", "Because George." They sync their sleep schedules. They spend 10 hours in a call together. They want to move in together forever. After 7 fucking years, they've finally met. They're two guys, they're best friends, they're soulmates.
