Tofino

Como era esperado, Tofino ganhou meu coração.

Apesar da água super gelada (tem até uma aviso pra não ficar mais de 10 minutos na água), deu vontade de dar um mergulho. Às vezes aqui em Vancouver eu demoro um certo tempo pra entrar na água gelada, mas lá, por conta da areia e do mar aberto (sem navios à vista), que deram essa sensação de praia mesmo, entrei rapidinho.

Ficamos hospedados na Chesterman Beach e no fim, foi a que mais gostei. Foi lá que entrei no mar, caminhamos e vimos pores do sol lindos. Ela é bem bonita e tem bastante verde em volta.

Pensando bem, verde em volta acho todas têm. Passamos também na Long Beach e Mackenzie, que tava com uma neblina bizarra. Para fugir disso, fomos à Tonquin Beach, diferente das outras, essa praia é menorzinha, mais calma e é preciso fazer uma pequena trilha pra chegar.

Nós dias que não estava sol, fizemos algumas trilhas. Parte de Tofino e Ucluelet (a cidade vizinha) ficam dentro do Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, um parque enorme com muitas trilhas, entre elas a Coombers, que tem uma ilhota na frente cheia de leão marinho, é meio longe, mas dá pra ver que tem algo se mexendo, uma dica é levar binóculos; a South Beach (estava com avisos de ursos bravos protegendo filhotes 😨), ela tem uma pedra grande na praia super fácil de escalar e legal pra ver a vista de cima e; a Amphitrite Point Light, uma trilhinha para uma farol.

O centrinho de Tofino é bem fofo, tem lojinhas com produtos artesanais, uns bons cafés e restaurantes. Dois lugares que recomendo lá é a Roy Henry Vickers Gallery, uma galeria de um artista indígena local, adorei como ele coloca elementos indígenas discretamente nas artes; e o Ancho Park, uma pracinha com lista vista pra Meares Island.
