Honestly, I don’t think the idea of a washed-up middle-aged Peter Pan is necessarily a bad idea in of itself. The problem is that they made him a VILLAIN.

Imagine if CnDRR had portrayed Sweet Pete in a more sympathetic light, and at the end he was given a second chance at an acting career, allowing him to recover and finally become happy again. It would’ve been really poignant and heartwarming, and it would feel like Disney is apologizing for ruining Bobby Driscoll’s life all those decades ago, and saying that this is the life he SHOULD’VE gotten.

But no. Disney instead portrays Peter Pan as an irredeemably evil sociopath who rejects all attempts at a second chance, and at the end he gets horribly mutated and locked up Hannibal Lecter-style, with no attempt to fix or rehabilitate him. What kind of commentary are they trying to make THERE? 

It feels like the movie is saying Bobby was a piece of shit who deserved to be thrown out into the streets and die of a drug overdose when he was only 31. Intentional or not, it’s fucked up.

Sweet Pete Headcanons Part One

-Sweet Pete has both abandonment and control issues

-he's usually pretty chill actually. Laid back and charismatic

-unless something triggers these issues

-he lost everything before and is terrified of losing it all again.

-He worked so hard to bounce back after D/sney booted him. and although its through illegal means, in his eyes he did what he needed to get back on top.

-and he won't have anyone trying to knock him down again

-(he def needs therapy. And a good support system)

-messing with his business is like trying to take everything from him all over again, it's triggering to him and he's gonna be on edge and quick tempered from it.

-he needs to feel in control because of it. Being in a position of power feels safer for him and he can relax

.-the power has definitely gone to his head tho

-he may have a bit of paranoia

-although he's normally chill, that doesn't mean he's all that lenient with people that owe him

-you have to be at least a bit hardened to the world to make it in L.A.

-sadly, he's the type of person that only remembers the negative things people say to him

-Some of the people working for him (Seth Rogans character for example) clearly think highly of him. And they're comfortable enough around him that it's obvious he's not a bad boss or anything.

-But I think Pete has an issue with not recognizing that as support. Maybe he's on friendly terms with them but he still feels alone/doesn't recognize his employees fondness of him as real support. Possibly because they're on his payroll so they have to be cordial. Or because his mind is just swamped with all the negative shit he hears and the feelings of rejection he still harbors from his past

-maybe he's not totally blind to it, he appreciates appreciates their loyalty. But he doesn't appreciate it enough

-again this man needs to properly heal from his past. Get him some therapy

Just realized something - "Two Chips And A Miss" (the animated chip and dale short) was actually created in 1952. And the first appearance of Chip and Dale was 1949.

According to the CnDRR timeline, Chip and Dale weren't born yet. (They were born in 1974 apparently, since they were in 3rd grade in 1982.)

In the movie, it seemed like Rescue Rangers was the only series Chip and Dale were a part of, there was no Chip and Dale cartoons, no shorts, just Rescue Rangers.

But,,,

According to a deleted scene, Ugly Sonic and normal movie Sonic interact briefly. (Or so im told)

So, other versions of characters can exist in the same universe.

There might be alternative Chips and Dales - ones that were around those times. Possibly?

Or maybe those shorts just don't exist in this universe?

Just for the sake of this blog, lets just say that in this blog's canon that Chip and Dale did do a couple Chip and Dale shorts like "two chips and a miss" outside of rescue rangers - almost like spinoffs if you will, that were released in between the time period of 1989-1990 - the years Rescue Rangers was being aired - instead of in the 50s.

It may not be my characters, but its my universe, im literally God now nyeheheh

Have you thought of Sweet Pete with affection? I'm thinking poor Pete being awkward as hell with physical affection but loving it. He has no clue how to go about doing it but when his S/O initiates cuddling he acts like he's just going along for their sake while nuzzling in, cupping his cheek hypnotizes him. He's also unable to believe his S/O likes his belly, he's not going to stop them if they want to lay on it or squeeze his handles but he just doesn't buy it's because they think it's cute-

aaa he reminds me of my partner back when we were in highschool in that regard.

He's lovable and attractive he just needs someone to show him that 🥺

It may take a while to earn his trust but once he's fond of you, he'd start being pretty bold I think. Wraps his arm around you and pulls you closer any chance he gets, no matter what he's busy with atm he's gotta have you by his side. I think he'd be moderately touchy.

but when it comes to the more romantic side of things? He's a bit lost, he tries but it's a little awkward and out of practice. Hes not sure what he's doing but he'll get the hang of it eventually.
