I bought these Macaroons at the Gluten Free Expo in Sydney. They had quite a big range of flavours which surprised me. I purchased the Creme Brûlée and Lemon Meringue pie macaroons. 2 for $7. I found the creme brûlée actually tasted like one. Both were really light and fluffy but the lemon meringue didn’t really resemble it.

Dietary management and figuring out what you can or can’t eat post-diagnosis and how to optimise nutritional stores to support healing is the most powerful tool to have in your toolbox due to the lifelong nature of the condition

I went to the Gluten Free Expo in Sydney today! I bought so much. Goodbye money 😭😭 Personally I found entry pretty steep since i am just going to buy food which is already overpriced since it’s gluten free. Anyway I wasn’t prepared for such a large crowd either! I’ve been to the event the last few years and it’s never been that bad where you are just shuffling between stalls. Great to see so many stalls with lots of choices though. First thing I did once I was inside was make my way to the donut line. After waiting an hour last year and missing out there was no chance I was having that disappointment today. The donuts were so nice and crunchy. It was delicious and so good to have a crispy donut after so many years without one. Apparently you can freeze the donuts too. I found a warm spot in the sun to sit and gulp down several donuts and a lactose free coffee. Once inside I browsed through the stalls. A lot of the same stall holders as previous years but some new faces too. I love Diego’s enchiladas, so I was pleased to restock my cupboard with their kits. Definitely pleased to see vegan doughnuts there too! I was kicking myself when I realised I forgot my ice box. 😩 Naturally I visited my regular stores: the Imperial bakery in Ermington, Cookie crazy, Diego’s, the butchers and Well & Good. I was amazed to see so many Asian dishes and sauces on offer. I purchased some spring rolls for later. I bought one of the Macaroons but I’m yet to try it. I eat SOOO MANY samples I’m still recovering. It was a slow waddle to the car.
