Please read this oneI don’t usually write reviews but the experience me and my wife had is unbelievable My wife was in a car wreck on 1-24-15 and hurt her back but still wanted to see a movie for Valentine’s day 2-14-15 so I got the tickets and went I asked the lady at the door if my wife could Just sit on bench until movie time and she got a bad attitude problem with me so I asked to see The manager she came out and I told her about the problem she seemed like she didnt care at all. But she finally let my wife sit then all we heard was laughing and giggling from them made my wife feel very bad and very uncomfortable we left and won’t be back ever.By the way me and my daughter usually go to the movies there at least once a week sometimes twice a week and have been going there for almost four years now and the guy’s that work there on the weekdays are great very kind and never any Problems at all.

Was happy with the pricing of the movies here. First run movies at discounted prices. The theaters are small, but comfortable. I first saw a movie here in 1987 and it hasnt changed much, except the technology.What disappointed me were the lights that never turn off and when the movie starts nobody closes the doors (I went to the back and closed the doors myself, nothing I could do about the lights). How can one really enjoy a movie theater experience with lights in the ceiling shining down in your eyes.I came here for 3D, because ONLY the Dolby Digital 3D works for me, the crappy RealD 3D doesnt work nearly as well. Then as it turned out the movie I wanted to see was not being shown in 3D at all.I would go back again, but probably sit more towards the front away from the spotlights and open doors.

This place and staff has always given me a pleasurable experience and have gone on various days and times for the last 5yrs Even going during regular hours/days but frequent the senior/family days & hours. Been there during peak hrs & always someone at doors ready to go in and clean soon as a movie is over. Cant go to the Regals or Edwards and the like for top movies popcorn and drinks for the same price or less than what others charge just to get in the doors! Too bad Steve Crow had a bad experience, I have never seen or heard of such a thing all the times Ive gone. Im even greeted & asked where my friend is when I go alone. And acknowledged when Ive not been seen for awhile! Local theaters always best over commercial places anytime!

I see a lot of people complaining about the employees and the seats and screens. Download blackberry handheld software for 8520. I have never had a problem with any of the employees. They arent really friendly, but have never been rude to me or any of my kids. Sure it s small, but for the value, worth it for me. We could never afford to see a movie otherwise. If you get their saver card, you get a free ticket for every four you buy, even on family night. Plus you get free popcorn and free refills on popcorn and soda. Tip..go early in family nights, you will be in line for a bit, and it will fill up.

Dont be fooled by the price and Starlight brand. This place has almost nothing else in common with other Starlights. No reserved seating. No seats in the center (aisle runs down the middle). Small, dim screen. But the other Starlights (Triangle Square in Costa Mesa, Cinema City in Anaheim) have identical pricing and feature reserved seating, center seats, and larger screens, as well as having more total screens, more seats per screen, and nicer aesthetics. Go to those ones if possible. Those actually deserve the '4 Star' nomenclature.

Hate it. We came to watch sherlock holmes and half way through my lady went to use the restrooms and got kicked out cause the management said she was trying to jump movies. she had the ticket stub and she wasnt trying to jump movie.. she waited out side in the cold. while i was waiting for her to return. finally i went out side to look for her and i was very shocked to find out what had happened.. Never again will we ever come here again. Go some where else management seemed racist..

I go to this theater almost exclusively esp so that we could go bowling before or after a movie: $7 refillable (one time before the movie ends) popcorn, clean theater, good sound system, friendly staff. Prices are catching up to that of UA and Regency..$9/adult is more than at some other places; so we are pulling the reins a tad. Maybe it pays to be a frequent movie pass goer..then again, we should head out to the state parks and outdoors more. Head out and shape up, America!

i think this is a fantastic bargain to go to the movies in these most difficult of times. the popcorn is great ..the seating is good and the value is fabulous. we try to make it every Tuesday. i found the employees to be professional and courtesy so i suppose everyone has there opinion and mine is that keep the price low and the audiences will come. thanks.

The movie industry is my passion. When I was a teen I loved going to the cinema. This place is comfy, small and a great place to take out your girlfriend. However last time my girlfriend and I went everything was just dirty. Spit bubble gums, popcorn and smelly restrooms. Not a romantic experience at all. I hope they take some actions!

Is this as fancy as Bella Terra? No. But as far as a discount theater is concerned, this is a definite 5 star theater! Everyone has been nothing but polite and friendly. Only 4 movies at a time but, for the price, im willing to wait a while until they change the options! And any theater with $1 hot dogs is fine by me.

Absolutely love this theater, $6 Tuesday, Thursdays, and Sundays every week are an excellent value. Though it may not be as large as the bigger theaters, the movie viewing experience is still very enjoyable, especially given the price. The employees are friendly and the popcorn is delicious

Considering that it is a 4 screen theater with regular old school seating, it is nice. The floors arent sticky, the seats arent broken, the restrooms are clean and most importantly..very nice staff. Great place to take my family especially since we are on a very tight budget.

This year has been challenging to say the least. As live events around the world were canceled or postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, we hunkered down to slow the spread.

While we missed crowding into mosh pits and singing at the top of our lungs at concerts, stuffing our faces with popcorn at movie theaters and slapping high fives and raising a plastic cup of beer to cheer at sporting events, event promoters in Southern California got creative. Various companies managed to produce numerous socially-distanced drive-thru and drive-in style events where we were able to safely congregate and catch a buzz of normalcy.

After four months without live concerts in Southern California, Dana Point native Andrew McMahon played three sold-out nights at Drive-In OC in Anaheim in July. With all of the county fairs shut down this year, the fairgrounds and various fair food vendors pivoted to a drive-thru food experience. Del Mar started hosting events in July, followed by the OC Fair from August through October and then Angel Stadium in November and December. Guests could drive up to various familiar stands and food trucks and snag to-go eats such as jumbo turkey legs, deep-fried Oreos and Snickers bars, Krispy Kreme doughnut burgers, buckets of cotton candy and more. Everyone needed to find their happy place this year and this drive-thru event, created by Calabasas resident Jared Paul, opened in late November and runs through Jan. 10. It’s made up of things designed to simply make you smile and forget about everything else. There were unicorns, lots of bright colors, a nightclub, beach scenes and upbeat music, including REM’s ” Shiny Happy People,” on full blast. RG

Kids couldn’t trick or treat this year but throughout most of October they could ride through a Halloween-themed town at this drive-thru event that included a brightly lit pumpkin tunnel and a pumpkin patch where each car received a pumpkin. But the best part was the Town of Haunt O’Ween, which was made up of house facades where scary characters like mummies and ghosts stood by to toss basket loads of candy into cars. RG

Bringing the intimate in-person experience of a comedy club outside was no easy feat but it still delivered on laughs. In September, Improv finally decided to give drive-in comedy a shot and hosted drive-in style evenings with Brad Williams, Fortune Feimster, Maz Jobrani, Carlos Mencia, Craig Robinson and Felipe Esparza. The Irvine club held its shows atop a parking structure at the Irvine Spectrum and the Ontario club moved its events to SilverLakes Equestrian and Sports Park in Norco. KF

The producers of the annual Winter Fest OC switched up their annual event and created an elaborate drive-thru experience with over 1 million lights, numerous light tunnels, themed lands and several costumed actors spreading holiday cheer. Though this event faced some drama before it officially opened earlier in December, in the end the team was able to create a beautiful experience that complied with all of the COVID-19 safety regulations and the California curfew. This drive-in stand-up comedy series happens in the parking lot of the Magic Castle where flashing headlights and waving LED-lit noisemakers shaped like little hands that made a loud clanking sound replace cheers and claps at this ongoing bi-weekly event, which started in mid-August. People stayed safely in their cars as comedians such as Kevin Nealon, Bill Burr, Jay Pharoah, Michael Rappaport and Jamie Kennedy took the stage. RG

The storied ship, which has long been rumored to be haunted and now operates as a hotel, is closed due to the pandemic. That means it’s completely empty and the only thing on board are the spirits who haunt the vessel, making it the perfect setting for “The Dark Zone Live: Queen Mary Virtual Haunt and Music Festival.” The event took place on Halloween weekend and included surveillance cameras placed in some of the ship’s most haunted areas that were accessible 24-hours a day. As paranormal researchers walked through the ship, viewers were able to go check on the rooms at all hours of the day and night, and, yes, weird stuff happened. RG

“I am going to kill your brother.” You said, glaring at him.

“Hey there is my big star,” You heard Dean say from behind you. You whipped around and glared at him, actually hitting him in the chest. “Ow, what was that for?”

“You know what that was for. Why the hell did you do that? I hate being in front of the camera and have you forgotten that I’m still wanted by the FBI? What happens when this gets out and they see my face?” You said, glaring at him.

“Hey, it’s going to be alright.” Dean said, noticing how you’re taking this very seriously.

“You’re lucky I didn’t give them my real name.” You said with a sigh, not completely mad since you got to be close to the actors without raising suspicion.

“I’m sorry, sweetheart. You said blend in and when the director came over and noticed you, I took the chance.” Dean said, looking at Sam who nodded slightly.

“That’s fine, Dean. It gives me a chance to talk with the other actors.” You said with a shrug.

“So, did you find anything up there?” Sam asked and suddenly, you were more interested in what Dean found than the actors.

“No, there was no EMF anywhere up there.”

“So, what do you think?” you asked.

“Well, I think being a P.A. sucks. But... the food these people get, are you kidding me? I mean look at these things,” Dean said, picking up one of the tiny sandwiches from the snack table and held one out for Sam and you. “They're like miniature Philly cheesesteak sandwiches. They're delicious.”

“Maybe later.” Sam said, scrunching his face up a bit.

“Yeah, I’ll pass.” You said even though you were hungry. You had a job to do. Dean shrugged and took a huge bite, some of the meat hanging out of his mouth as he chewed. You giggled and reached up, plucking that piece from his mouth and put it into your own, nodding at the taste.

“That’s actually not bad.” You said, taking one for yourself.

“Yeah, that’s my girl.” Dean said, smirking at you. You blushed and smiled, taking a bite of your own sandwich.

“What'd you find out about the dead crew guy?” You asked, looking at Sam, eating your sandwich a bit better than Dean was.

“Uh... Frank Jaffey was just filling in for the day. Nobody here knew him or where he lived or anything.”

“Oh, great. So, you found out about as much as I did.” Dean said, swallowing.

“Not quite. I did dig up some stuff about Stage 9’s history. Over the past eighty years, four people died messy here. Two suicides and two fatal accidents.” Sam informed.

“Any one of those could be a vengeful spirit.” Dean said, looking at you. You finished your mini sandwich and was about to go for another one when you heard your fake name being called.

“Delanie!” You looked over to see Tara waving you over.

“You guys keep digging.” You said, leaving the brothers and walking over to Tara who was seated at her chair.

“Hey, sorry I just ditched like that,” You chuckled.

“That’s fine. Who were you talking to? Do you know those men?” She asked, looking at them with a small smile.

“Yeah, the shorter one is my boyfriend and the taller one is his brother.” You said, knowing she was staring at Dean. You didn’t care how Sam saw you, but you weren’t a raging jealous girl. Yeah, you got jealous when other women looked at your boyfriend after you told them he was yours but that’s only because you cared and loved Dean so much.

“Oh, is his brother single?” She asked with a smile.

“You know what, yes he is and his name is Sam. You go for it.” You said with a smile, looking at her.

“Awesome.” She said with a nod.

“Hey, look, I’ve been meaning to ask you this since I met you but you found that crew guy, right?” You asked, seeing her suddenly become distant and she look down as she sighed. “Oh, I’m so sorry. That was very insensitive of me.”

“No, actually, it’s okay. Nobody around here really brings it up very much. I think they're all scared I'm gonna have some kind of breakdown.”

“That must have been awful. What happened, if you don’t mind me asking.” You asked, sitting in the chair next to hers, not caring who owned it.

“It was horrible. There was all this blood coming from his eyes and from his mouth. And, uh... I saw this, um... shape. I’m not sure what I saw and I’m kind of embarrassed to even think this. Truthfully, I have no idea what I thought I saw but I know I saw it.” She said, looking at you worriedly.

“Hey, I believe in the Supernatural, alright? I believe you saw something.” You said with a gentle smile.

“Thank you. You’re the first person I know to even say that.” She said, smiling.

“So, this crew guy, Frank, did you know him?” You asked.

“No, not that well.”

“It’s funny how no one seems to actually know the guy. Working here, you might think at least one person who would, you know?” You said, chuckling dryly.

“Well, I have his picture.” She said, digging through her bag. “I take Polaroids of all the crew. It’s my way of killing time here.” Suddenly, you felt hands on your shoulder and you looked up to see Dean there, looking at you with a smile.

“Hey, what’s up?” You asked.

“Nothing, I see you met Tara.” He said with a smile.

“I did.” You nodded, looking at Tara who smiled at Dean.

“Hi, I’m Tara Benchley.”

“Yeah, I know who you are. I loved you in all your movies. You’re a phenomenal actress. I’m Dean.” Dean complimented her.

“Thank you, it’s nice to meet you.” She said, taking out the picture. She showed you the picture and Dean’s hands tightened on your shoulder. He must know who that is.

“Wow, son of a bitch.” Dean muttered.

“Excuse me?” Tara asked.

“Nothing, hey, Tara, you don’t mind if I slip away for a second? I have to talk to Dean.” She nodded and you smiled, getting up and walking away with him, meeting with Sam.

“Who was that person? I know you knew him.” You said.

“I know of him. Come on.” He said, looking at Sam and nodded. You followed Dean out of the set which was easy since no one was paying attention to you anyways and walked to the Impala, wondering where you were going.

“Dean, where are we going?” You asked. Dean drove away from set, knowing where he was going.

“Frank Jaffey’s place.” He said.

“I thought he died.”

“So did I.” Dean didn’t waste any more time getting there and once he did, he walked up to his house and knocked on the door.

“How do you know where he lives?” You asked, standing next to him.

“You do your research, I do mine.” He chuckled. The door opened to reveal the person in the photo that Tara had shown you and Dean. Unless he has a twin, then this guy faked his death or worse.

“Gerard St. James?” Dean asked.

“Yes.”

“You’re still alive and you’re not Frank Jaffey.”

“Uh, no?” The man asked, looking confused.

“You were Desert Soldier Number Four in Metalstorm: The Destruction of Jared-Syn?”

“I was.” This man was probably creeped out by now.

“I knew I recognized you. I am a huge fan. Heh heh. I mean, your turn as a tractor crash victim in Critters 3…” Dean said, smiling as he chuckled.

“Critters 3?” Gerald said with a smile. “Come on in.” The man opened his door wider and let you three in, Dean going in first. You looked at Sam with a confused look and he just shrugged, walking inside. You followed and closed the door, going to the living room where Dean was waiting. Gerald came back into the room with a tray of four cups of coffee.

“So, you’re Frank Jaffey?” You asked, taking the cup.

“Yeah, it was the producers. They brought me up for the day to play Frank.” He admitted, sitting down after handing Sam and Dean a cup.

“Just to fake your death?” You asked.

“Well, with rumors of a haunted film set would spread like crazy over the internet, plus, it was free publicity, especially when you’re making a horror movie. These days, it’s all about the media and building buzz.”

“And the ghost Tara saw?” Sam asked.

“Projected on a screen of diffusion.”

“Isn’t that kind of cruel? Messing with their heads like that?” Dean asked.

“Hey, I just play the part. I don't write the script. Speaking of, I'm playing Willy in a dinner theater production of Salesman at Costa Mesa, all next month,” Gerald said, handing Dean a flyer. “You get a free pepper steak with the coupon.”

“Wait, if you’re seen in public, won’t that ruin the hoax?” You asked.

“Oh please,” Gerald said with a scoff. “Frank and Willy? They’re totally different characters.” You just stared at him like he was the dumbest person on earth. You opened your mouth to say something but Sam beat you to it.

“You know what? Thanks very much, Mr. St. James. It was just nagging at us, you know? But we're very glad you're alive and well.” Sam said, shaking the older man’s hand.

“Absolutely.” Gerald said, shaking yours and Dean’s hand. You nodded to him and left his house, looking at Sam when you were at the Impala.

“Was that man just ignorant or just naturally clueless?” You asked with a laugh, getting in the backseat.

“Beats me.” He said, getting in with his brother. Dean drove back to the set but you frowned.

“Wait, why are we back here? That guy isn’t dead and Tara saw no ghost.” You said when he parked.

“I don’t know why you don’t have a feeling with this but I have a feeling we aren’t done here.” Dean said, getting out of the car. You sighed and got out with him, following him back onto set.

“Wait, why is everything closed?” You asked, seeing the doors all closed and no one really around.

“I have no idea. Maybe they left early. We can come back in the morning.” Dean said.

一年一度在橙縣Dana Point舉辦的多希尼藍調音樂節(Doheny Blues Festival)可說是南加音樂界的盛事、也被認為是全美頂尖的藍調音樂節之一。今年共搭建三個舞台，分別有不同樂團及歌手演奏/演唱藍調、搖滾和靈魂音樂，由Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals 和Lindsey Buckingham領軍，其餘樂手包括Jajmahal、Jonny Lang、Robert Cray、The Marcus King Band等著名大咖歌手和樂團都會到現場表演，現場會有50家左右的美食攤販還有精釀啤酒提供試飲，讓大家在微醺之下感受藍調音樂的慵懶魅力！票價為一日劵80美金，2日劵 140美金，因停車位有限，建議搭乘前往活動接駁巴士或叫車前往。

這周是聖地牙哥許多學校2018至2019學年度的開學週，學生、教師和家長們忙著迎接新學期的一切，好像才剛收心一下，不過一到週末又是一年一度的勞動節長週末啦！象徵著2017年夏天尾聲的Labor Day Weekend，活動怎麼可能會少呢？特別是鄰近的橙縣和洛杉磯、有聲勢浩大的洛杉機博覽會、洛杉機海軍艦隊週、橙縣國際街頭嘉年華、626 夜市……這麼多活動等著，在聖地牙哥的我們怎麼能不好好把握三天兩夜的假期，好好地出城玩一趟呢？跟著小編一起來看看這些精彩的活動吧！

Huntington Beach Civil War Days(9/1-2)(OC)

杭亭頓海灘市這周將在杭亭頓海灘中央公園(圖書館後方)舉辦「美國內戰日」活動，這活動年都在labor day的長周末舉行，把19世紀南北戰爭時期的聯邦和邦聯兩軍對峙的局面、當時軍民生活特色等都活生生地搬到現代來。您在活動現場可以見到林肯總統、格蘭特將軍以及戰爭中的許多歷史人物；可以參觀歷史悠久的平民小鎮「Reedsburg」；在歷史協會的帳篷裡享用點心、尋找歷史悠久的紀念品。而當天現場會有數百名的義工參與演出，他們打辦成那時候的士兵、在搭建好的營地裡休息準備、重頭戲就是兩軍對峙的激烈戰鬥啦，當時的大砲、各式武器軍火都會一字排開讓民眾看個夠喔！

The Great Labor Day Cruise (9/1-2)(OC)

第36屆的美國車展The Great Labor Day Cruise! 這週末將在橙縣的Costa Mesa展出！這是全國最大、舉辦時間最長的古董車隊遊行活動，也是少數幾個可以在距離150英畝場地設置1.25英哩的遊行路線的車展。現場有超過1400台在1978年以前出廠的經典老式車車，也有超過100個汽車相關廠商擺攤販賣汽車週邊商品，另外還有小孩子遊樂區、模型車大賽、野貨車展示、無聲拍賣等，這活動還提供210個露營地讓與會者可以就地露營看個夠喔！汽車愛好者千萬別錯過了！

Orange International Street Fair (8/31-9/2)(OC)

在橙縣，勞動節週末另一項一年一度的傳統活動就是在歷史悠久的老城市區廣場(Old Town Orange Plaza)舉辦的橙縣國際街頭博覽會（OISF），目的是藉由慶祝各國食物、文化以及橙縣在地社區的活動，展現橙縣人廣納四川、多族群融合、多元文化的特色。 2017年的主題是「全球美食」(Globally Good)，現場掛條會清楚標示哪國美食，包括日本、瑞士、墨西哥、希臘、美國、愛爾蘭、義大利、荷蘭等，從特色小吃、甜點到飲料選擇非常多樣，另外也有各國手工藝攤位展示、現場音樂表演、民俗舞蹈、各國服裝展示等，還有一條特別為孩子規劃的兒童娛樂街喔！一連三天由當地非營利組織來組織和維護攤位，活動免費入場喔！

The Taste L.A by Los Angeles Times (8/31-9/2)(LA)

Labor Day長周末除了去626夜市吃吃喝喝外，由洛杉磯時報(Los Angeles Times)所舉辦的The Taste L.A.美食節也是另一個很棒的選擇喔！有數十家洛杉機的頂級餐廳參與，且絕對兼顧美食多樣化，各國精緻料理幾乎一應俱全，也有各式烈酒香檳供君挑選。主辦單位邀請了100多位洛杉磯大廚在現場廚藝示範，譬如在周五開幕之夜，台灣觀光局駐洛杉磯辦事處就請KATO帶來中西合併的台灣特色料理，而天仁茗茶加州茶棧也將推出帶有台灣風情的拉花茶飲，有可愛綠蠵龜、蘭嶼飛魚、馬祖藍眼淚等圖案。所有費用都含在門票內，限21歲以上。

2018 LA County Fair(8/31-9/23)(LA)

眾所期盼，已經有96年歷史的洛杉磯博覽會LA County Fair將在長周末熱鬧登場！！橫跨四週、號稱是全美最大的嘉年華，在裡頭有上百種的美食與紀念品攤位、讓孩子玩到瘋的遊樂設施、各式各樣的主題音樂表演和演唱會等，不管是哪個年齡層一定都找得到感興趣吸引你的設施/活動。而2018年的主題是「歷史悠久的66號公路(Historic Route 66)」，博覽會幾個大型的展區都與主題相呼應，譬如有鬧鬼的66昊迷宮、名為 “Portals”的快閃式全方位影音體驗館、以66號公路貫串的八個州為主題設計的互動探索、以及以此公路為啟發的復古藝術裝置車展。詳細攻略請見Sofun博覽會專文「吃喝玩樂一站到底的2018 LA County Fair 來囉! （8/31-9/23）」。

626 Night Market 2018 (8/31-9/2)(LA)

作為全美最大的華人夜市，「 626夜市」可說是聲名遠播，每年舉辦之際都是摩頂放踵、萬頭鑽動，上百攤的美食攤位一字排開，沒人受的了它的誘惑。今年除了有鹽酥雞、烤魷魚、串燒、章魚燒、烤玉米串、香港雞蛋仔、珍珠奶茶、西瓜汁、檸檬愛玉冰、芒果冰沙、炒冰淇淋等傳統小吃的美食攤位外，還有像賣生活雜貨、服飾、手工皂、傳統手工藝品的攤位，真的是會逛到心滿意足、飽到走不動啦！這是今年「 626夜市」的最後一場，錯過這場就要等明年啦！

A Fleet Week 2018 (8/31-9/3)(LA)

每年到了Labor Day Long Weekend身為美國第一港口的洛杉磯港都會主辦洛杉機海軍艦隊週(LA Fleet Week) ，是美國海軍、海岸巡防隊和海軍陸戰隊的優良傳統，提供民眾認識及親近美軍戰艦、與服役海軍士兵們一個近距離交流的機會。今年的活動將從8/31(Fri) 早上8點半開始一直延續到9/3(Mon)的下午四點。最精彩的是參加20分鐘的現役戰艦導覽tour (需上網預約，每人可預約六張票) 、免費參觀著名的Battleship IOWA 等，戶外音樂表演、航空飛行秀、軍事裝備展示、陸軍與執法單位車輛秀、也有針對孩子們的教育活動、以及各式各樣的美食餐車等，到了晚上還會釋放煙火喔！活動最後一天還有海軍廚房的廚藝大賽，四個海軍單位(海軍、海岸巡防隊、海軍陸戰隊和加拿大皇家海軍)各派出一位大廚進行廚藝競技！

另外，今年洛杉磯海軍艦隊周還獲得亞馬遜的大力贊助，亞馬遜Prime的原創影集《傑克·萊恩》(Jack Ryan) 選擇在Fleet Week的開幕之夜舉辦北美首映，這個講述CIA探員偵破威脅全球的新型恐怖主義、完成一次次驚心動魄的任務，影集導演和眾演員等都將出席開幕之夜。

而在長灘的瑪莉皇后號Queen Mary，也特別在LA Fleet Week對平日保家衛國勞苦功高的軍人、第一線工作人員致敬，即日起到9月3日之前現役或退休軍人、第一線工作人員都可以免費參觀瑪莉皇后號，而隨行者也可以享有75折的票價優惠。有興趣者請點此。

Festival of Arts of Laguna Beach(7/5-9/1)(OC)

橙縣藝術重鎮Laguna Beach除了夏季鋸屑藝術節，第八十六屆拉古娜海灘藝術節(86th Annual Festival of Arts Fine Art Show)也是眾所矚目的活動。作為全美最古老、最受好評的藝術展之一，自1932年以來，成千上萬的藝術家在藝術節上展示和銷售他們的作品。今年藝術界一如往常，將展示橙縣在地逾140位成熟和新興藝術家的原創作品，包括陶瓷、玻璃、繪畫、珠寶、混合��材、攝影、版畫、雕塑和木材等。同時，還有國際級藝術家如韓國Pil Ho Lee、墨西哥Hugo Rivera、義大利Luciano Bortone、南非Carla Bosch、保加利亞Jordan Dimitov、日本Mariko Ishii、俄羅斯Yuri Kuznetsov和中國Ryang Yoon等藝術家的作品展示，在整個活動期間還會有夜間音樂會、爵士音樂會、巧克力和葡萄酒的pairings，一整天的活動包括Festival Runway、時裝秀和family art day等，詳細日程請上官網。

The Pageant of the Masters(7/7-9/1)(OC)

在橙縣藝術氣息濃厚的Laguna Beach 在暑假都會舉辦讓人嘖嘖稱奇、號稱為「活畫作」(living pictures) 的「Pageant of the Masters」藝術活動，是一個請真人模擬演出古今中外著名的畫作的表演秀，不論是中古歐洲古典畫或是當代新興藝術家的創作，都由表演藝術工作者上了極為擬真的舞台妝和造型演出，演出前置作業相當繁複，而整齣秀會由一個說書人在現場管弦樂團的優雅樂聲中、為大家解說舞台上一幕幕的活畫作，把大家熟悉的世界名畫演出來！相當另類特別且難忘！雖然表演期間長達兩個月、幾乎每晚都在 Irvine Bowl上演、但吸引了全球各地的藝術愛好者前往欣賞，仍是相當一票難求。

今年的主題是「Under the sun」，頌揚在20世紀初期，在Laguna Beach新一代的印象派畫家和藝術家們在戶外畫下自己眼中的自然美景的故事。今年適逢「Pageant of the Masters」八十五週年和Laguna Art Museum的百年慶，購買Pageant of the Masters的門票將可無限制地在暑假參訪整個Festival of Arts Fine Art Show，所以非常划算，有興趣的朋友們請快上網站買票囉！

Summer Sawdust Art & Craft Festival(6/29-9/2)(OC)

講到橙縣的Laguna Beach就不可不提到這個在藝術界裡頂頂有名的Sawdust Art & Craft Festival 夏季鋸屑藝術節！這個藝術慶典從1966年開始舉辦、至今超過半個世紀，已成為南加藝術愛好者們、收藏家、新銳藝術家的年度盛事，每到暑假都會有長達兩個月的藝術活動、讓超過 200 位學有專功的藝術家們齊聚一堂，藝術品形式從繪畫、首飾製作、陶瓷、服裝皮件、木雕金雕石雕到攝影等，都可以在鋸屑藝術節挖到寶。而且這個藝術節在每周五和周六的早上時段，有開設各式各樣的藝術課程喔～！趕緊來Laguna Beach 這小鎮感受一下夏日海濱的這個藝術盛會，讓自己也藝術一夏吧！

Little Saigon Night Market(6/15-9/2)(OC)

橙縣的 Westminster 被稱為「小西貢」，而這個小西貢每年夏天最熱鬧的活動就是在Asian Garden Mall的停車場舉辦的小西貢夜市！這個夜市以東南亞特色為主，在這裡可以嚐到許多特色美味，像是海螺、越南春卷、越南蛋餅、西米露等。除了東南亞美食外，也有東南亞音樂表演、越南傳統服飾、小童玩傳統遊戲等。小西貢週末夜市會持續舉辦至暑假結束(9/2)。

Griffith Park Shakespeare Festival (6/30-9/2)(LA)

Griffith Park Free Shakespeare Festival 是洛杉磯大型的免費莎士比亞歌劇表演節，這是由Independent Shakespeare Co. 這個表演團體所主辦，在2003年的第一場表演只有14人和1隻狗觀賞，但到了2009年在Barnsdall Park舉辦時已經有12000名觀眾；2010年移至Griffith Park、而至2016年觀眾超過47000人! 目前這個Shakespeare Festival已經不只是讓更多人認識莎士比亞經典作品，更是在地藝術工作者的重要交流場合，對舞台表演有興趣的朋友還可以參與戲劇前的pre-show workshops，而且完全免費！今年夏季將會上演A Midsummer Night’s Dream 與 Titus Andronicus 這兩部莎士比亞的經典歌劇作品，活動從六月份持續到九月份，歌劇愛好者請帶上薄毯、野餐墊或海灘椅，到Griffith Park享受這個難得的表演盛會喔～！

Odd Nights at the Autry (Apr- Oct)(LA)

Odd Nights at the Autry 是一個 L.A. 的在地夜市，從1991年以來為了支持在地藝術家和dreamers所發起的藝術兼美食市集，從4月至10月於每個月的第三個星期五舉辦，活動當日會有超過 70 個攤位出售不同種類的商品，如手工飾品、家飾、二手物拍賣等，現場也會有20餘輛美食餐車、也會有kids fun zone如跳跳屋和攀岩牆等，讓全家可以悠閒的吃吃喝喝逛街壓馬路～！

King Tut in LA (3/24-Jan 2019)(LA)

埃及最有名的法老圖坦卡門（King Tut）來到南加州囉～！號稱在埃及境外最大的古墓文物展「圖坦卡門：黃金法老珍寶」（King Tut: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh)，在洛杉磯市中心的加州科學中心展出。此次展出超過150件工藝品，遠高於過去一般展覽50件的限制。主辦單位表示，展覽將展出Boy King所使用和擁有的東西，像是黃金首飾、雕刻，雕塑和古物。此次展出的文物大約40％是第一也是最後一次離開埃及喔！展出完畢將返回到埃及，未來在正在建設的大埃及博物館（Grand Egyptian Museum）做永久展示。所以說機會難得，趕快去買票喔～

進入八月中了，這周又是熱浪來襲，連日悶熱讓小編真的都不知道該躲去哪裡了說～！好在到周末天氣沒有像周間這麼誇張，朋友們還是要趕緊把握暑假的尾巴，週末出去外頭走走吧! 這個週末在橙縣和洛杉磯，有充滿浴衣太鼓的日本盂蘭盆節夏日祭典、韓流大勢男齊聚的韓國音樂節、還有那萬頭鑽動的626夜市和即將結束的OC County Fair……快跟著小編一起來看看吧！

San Clemente Fiesta Music Festival (8/12)(OC)

橙縣的San Clemente將在這週日舉辦第六十五屆的街頭音樂狂歡節，在downtown的主街Avenida Del Mar上會封街舉辦這場別開生面的活動。由當地的非營利組織贊助美食和遊戲攤位，三個主舞台上演一整天不間斷的音樂表演，還有適合各種年齡層的比賽和活動，如呼拉圈比賽、salsa大挑戰、吃派大賽、吃冰淇淋比賽、吹泡泡比賽、寶寶爬行比賽等，kids fun zone的活動如臉部彩繪、跳繩比賽、跳跳屋、氣球藝術、和各個DIY手工勞作區。活動都是免費的喔，還在San Clemente High School提供免費的接駁車，歡迎有興趣的朋友前往參加。

6th Annual Avocado Fest (8/11-12)(LA)

富有極高營養價值的酪梨，除了打成酪梨牛奶、變成酪梨壽司或直接生吃之外，還可以有什麼新吃法呢？您ㄧ定沒想到吧？就是酪梨啤酒！！由Angel City Brewery舉辦的ㄧ年一度酪梨節將在這個週末在洛杉磯地標啤酒廠舉辦啦！現場除了特製的酪梨愛爾啤酒外，還有ㄧ系列有關酪梨的比賽和藝術品展覽、現場塗鴉表演等，若您已滿21歲以上、也是酪梨控的話可不要錯過了這次難得的機會喔！

Nisei week Japenese festival (8/11-19)(LA)

洛杉磯一年一度的日本夏日祭Nisei Week又來囉！從本週六起至下週日舉辦一連九天，被公認為是美國舉辦日期最長的族群慶典之一。今年已經來到第78屆的夏日祭慶典，一樣將洛城的數個南加日裔社團集結起來，帶來了各種日本傳統文化特色的演出，譬如在Japanese American Cultural & Community Center（JACCC）就將舉辦整天的慶典，日本花藝展、日本茶道示範、日本織布及手工藝展示等，晚上還有日本街頭小吃，如烤魷魚丶大阪燒丶銅鑼燒等。另外還有日本小姐選美暨加冕儀式、吃餃子大賽、街頭太鼓表演丶相撲比賽及武術表演等，詳細活動時間表與地址請到官網查詢。

KCON 2018 (8/10-12)(LA)

這個週末的洛城很韓風！全世界最大型的韓國文化展覽會暨音樂節KCON 將於本週五(8/10)到週日(8/12)在洛杉磯的L.A. Live 複合設施中心舉辦，期間會在Staples Center 舉辦音樂會，及在洛杉磯會議中心 (Los Angeles Convention Center)進行如講座和許多周邊活動。這次的與會嘉賓陣容相當龐大，包括Ailee、Golden Child、Momoland、Chung Ha、Twice、Seventeen、Wanna One等大家熟悉的一線明星及大勢男團女團。而在洛杉磯會議中心將會把多種韓國文化和流行趨勢引進美西，和此地文化做些交流，共分為 K-beauty 、K-fashion 、K-dance、K-music、K-food 幾大區，喜歡韓國文化的朋友可千萬不要錯過囉！

Long Beach Jazz Festival (8/10-12)(LA)

Gardena Obon Festival (8/11-12)(LA)

Obon Festival是佛教中的重要節日，佛教徒用來表達遙祭祖先、追悼先人之意，而由於盂蘭盆節時間剛好與中元節重疊，又稱為「魂祭」或「燈籠節」，可以說是新年之外的第二大節日。而擁有眾多日本移民的洛杉磯，這週末就將在Gardena Buddhist Church舉辦Gardena Obon Festival 盂蘭盆節夏日祭典，這可說是每年南加夏天最大型的日本祭典活動之一。

活動上將有豐富的美食攤位，包括壽司、拉麵、蕎麥麵、烏龍麵、咖哩、串燒、刨冰等，伴隨豐富多彩的娛樂和武術節目表演、手工藝活動、有獎遊戲、商展攤位等。重頭戲當然就是日本太鼓表演，還有Bon Odori Dance的民俗舞蹈可觀賞，也有很多民眾會穿著漂亮的浴衣或和服前往參加慶典呢！對日本傳統文化有興趣的朋友可別錯過這難得的機會喔！

提到橙縣的 Huntington Beach，一定會聯想到衝浪，而這個美國知名的衝浪之都正在進行為期9天的美國衝浪公開賽，這是目前世界上規模最大的衝浪活動，來自各國的一流衝浪好手都將集結於此切磋較勁，另外也有滑板、越野自行車BMX的競賽。不論您會不會衝浪、喜不喜歡衝浪，您一定可以在各式比賽中欣賞到驚人的表演。當然，每年來觀看比賽的民眾多達50萬，可說是一場超大型的海灘派對，當然也會有養眼的比基尼沙灘美女和曬出古銅肌膚的肌肉男喔！找時間上去Huntington Beach，感受一下南加海灘的風情萬種、還有這些戶外活動特有的魅力喔！

La Habra Corn Festival(8/3-5)(OC)

橙縣的La Habra市將在這週末舉辦一年一度的玉米節，這是從1947年舉辦至今、可說是南加州最歷史悠久的活動之一，也是La Habra市的年度盛事。玉米節活動非常多元豐富，週六早上九點半的大遊行每次就有兩萬五千人參加的盛大規模，現場還有車展、吃玉米競賽、蘋果派烹飪比賽、玉米寶寶競賽等，今年的Miss La Habra的各位選秀佳麗也會在現場跟民眾互動。另外，嘉年華會孩子們最喜歡的遊樂措施也一樣不會少，現場還有音樂表演、手工藝品攤位和各式各樣的小吃攤位等等。玉米控的你可千萬不要錯過了！

International Surf Festival (8/1 – 5) (LA)

這個週末除了橙縣的 Huntington Beach有衝浪公開賽外，無獨有偶的是在洛杉磯縣下的曼哈頓海灘城市(City of Manhattan Beach)也將在這週末舉辦第二十六屆國際衝浪嘉年華。這個嘉年華主要目的是將四個南灣海灘城(Hermosa Beach、Manhattan Beach、Redondo Beach、Torrance Beach)的各項海邊戶外活動做個大會串，讓各方好手有個彼此交流的機會，並藉此提高數千名參賽者的身體狀況以及當地救生員的服務素質。最著名的三個特色活動是Judge Taplin 救生員混泳接力(Judge Taplin Lifeguard Medley Relay)，Dwight Crum Pier-to-Pier Swim和查理·賽克利六人排球錦標賽( Charley Saikley 6-Man Volleyball Tournament)。其他還包括衝浪比賽、bodysurfing比賽、沙灘跑、paddleboard races、dory race等。喜歡海上戶外活動的民眾歡迎前往觀賞這個有龐大規模的衝浪嘉年華，為現場的選手們打氣加油！

2nd Annual Taiwanese American Film Festival (8/3-4)(LA)

台灣的鄉親朋友照過來照過來！這周末在洛杉磯將舉辦第二屆台美電影節喔！！這是由最大型的全國性專業組織台美洛杉磯專業人士協會( Taiwanese American Professionals of Los Angeles ) 所組成的，希望讓台美新興的電影工作者所製作的實驗性短片、媒體作品能在國際上發聲、讓更多人接觸到台灣電影、也藉電影了解台灣這塊寶島。去年第一次舉辦吸引了超過400人參加，並有17個獨立電影的放映和映後座談會。今年的台美電影節則從40多部投稿影片中選出14部入圍作品進行展映，並將評選出文化聚焦獎（Culture Spotlight Award）以及評委會大獎（Grand Jury Award）。觀眾也可以為自己喜歡的電影投票，產生出兩部人氣電影獎。

本次電影節主題是以「吃、喝、玩、樂」台灣夜市為主題，旨在通過台灣獨特的夜市文化促進台美文化間的交流。電影節當天會設有台灣小吃、飲品等供來賓進行品嚐，讓大家在「吃喝玩樂」中開心地觀影交流。這是台美華人電影界的盛會、會有許多新銳導演和電影工作者出席，支持台灣電影的民眾朋友們記得多去捧場鼓勵喔！

Hard Summer Music Festival 2018 (8/4-5)(LA)

The Pageant of the Masters(7/7-9/1)(OC)

在橙縣藝術氣息濃厚的Laguna Beach 在暑假都會舉辦讓人嘖嘖稱奇、號稱為「活畫作」(living pictures) 的「Pageant of the Masters」藝術活動，是一個請真人模擬演出古今中外著名的畫作的表演秀，不論是中古歐洲古典畫或是當代新興藝術家的創作，都由表演藝術工作者上了極為擬真的舞台妝和造型演出，演出前置作業相當繁複，而整��秀會由一個說書人在現場管弦樂團的優雅樂聲中、為大家解說舞台上一幕幕的活畫作，把大家熟悉的世界名畫演出來！相當另類特別且難忘！雖然表演期間長達兩個月、幾乎每晚都在 Irvine Bowl上演、但吸引了全球各地的藝術愛好者前往欣賞，仍是相當一票難求。

San Clemente Ocean Festival (7/21-22)(OC)

橙縣的San Clemente市在這周末將舉行熱熱鬧鬧的兩天海洋祭嘞！在這週末會舉辦會水上和路上的運動競賽項目，諸如南加唯一可慢跑在沙灘上的5K Beach Run/Walk、1 mile 海泳比賽、SUP 衝浪競賽以及相當受歡迎的 dory boat 划船比賽等；針對孩子們也有 Kid’s Dolphin Dash 海灘短跑、「Groms Rule」衝浪競賽、和釣魚比賽 Fishing Derby 等。當然啦，海洋祭絕對不是只有這些運動項目競賽而已，有許多全天候的活動，諸如海灘音樂會、沙雕競賽、木製車展、美人魚遊行、海灘藝術市集和趣味的橡皮小鴨比賽 (Great Rubber Duck Race)，一定讓你流連忘返在San Clemente 的海灘上！歡迎您全家總動員來去參加這項盛會！

Fiesta de Solano (7/20-22)(OC)

橙縣的Rancho Santa Margarita 區的舊金山索拉諾天主教會(San Francisco Solano Catholic Church) 將主辦大型的三天社區嘉年華活動，包括各種rides、遊戲、美食攤位、並請來許多樂團表演等。每天晚上5點至9點30分還有賓果遊戲喔！所有收益將捐給教會。

喜歡狗狗的朋友們，這週六晚上在橙縣Cypress市的Los Alamitos賽場將舉辦第二十三屆臘腸犬賽跑比賽！超過90隻可愛的臘腸犬將爭奪「頂級犬(Top Dogs)」的頭銜。比賽的收益將有捐贈給橙縣的海豹海灘動物護理中心(Seal Beach Animal Care Center)，一��專門為替流浪動物找家的橙縣非營利組織。票價為成人5元，17歲以下兒童免費。

Sunset at the zoo(7/22)(OC)

夏天的傍晚在動物園跟動物一起瘋狂一下吧！橙縣的Santa Ana Zoo 於這週日晚上舉辦「Sunsets at the Zoo」活動，這是由 Guaranty Chevrolet of Santa Ana 以及 Friends of Santa Ana Zoo所贊助的系列活動之一。入園後訪客可先進行動物園探險，乘坐Zoofari Express Train、摩天輪、旋轉木馬等觀賞園中各區動物、或去手工藝DIY區做做crafts。夜幕低垂後可以在星空下品嘗橙縣最好的手工啤酒、並觀賞當地樂團的live music。記得帶上自己的野餐墊、海灘椅和薄長袖喔！活動收益將全數用於動物園擴建所需。

Festival of Arts of Laguna Beach(7/5-9/1)(OC)
