Still My Own Person
First of all: I am SO sorry! I was rereading Cyprin's first season and at that scene after Cyprin just tell them to call them Cyprin again instead of Alex, I was just SO mad and hurt by them (maybe I need to see a pscycologist haha) that this came out as a coping mechanism... Dunno if I plan to continue or not, but it would not leave me alone until I wrote it soooo I hope you enjoy!

Something breaks in me at their dismissal. Deep inside it breaks and hurts and hurts and I can hardly breath until all that comes out is.
"Fuck you, Cyprin" I finally whisper, voice broken but refusing to let any tears fall.
They turn to look at me with widened eyes, mouth hanging a bit open.
I close my eyes and take a deep breath before turning my back on them and heading back where we came from. I could use a drink.
I hear a step behind and on instinct I pull my left arm closer to me before looking over my shoulder. Ale-Cyprin was pulling back their own, proving that they really were trying to stop me.
"What?" I ask and my voice is blank.
"I… where are you going?"
"To get a drink."
"A drink?" They looked so confused it'd be endearing if not for… everything. "You have to rest."
I turn fully towards them, fury, hurt, broken hearted all at once.
"You may be my boss at HERA, A-Cyprin, but I am still my own person and can be the owner of my own life. I am off the clock, I am on leave, I don't answer to you."
I can see the tears back in their eyes and despite the searing pain I feel at that, I will myself not to cave.
"That's not fair-"
"None of this is fair! And yet you don't really seem to care when it's about me!"
They open their mouth to reply but a horn makes us both jump and look towards the street towards the cab they had called. They raise one finger to the driver, asking him to wait a moment, before turning back to me.
"I… I'm not gonna apologise for wanting to keep you safe. I have to do this." They say, steeling their voice once more though tears are still visible in their eyes.
"And I have to get a drink." I say, anger going out, and only tiredness settling in. I turn around towards the door once more.
"I… I called you a cab." They murmur, broken.
Without turning around, cause I know if I do I'll just go to them, I say
"Ask them to take you to HERA to work then, since that's what you really want to do."
I push the door open and pretend I don't hear them calling my name before the door closes.

I go straight to the bar and try not to notice Erin's raised eyebrow as she moves towards my chosen seat.
"I'm guessing you are not back here for information?"
I try to muster a smile at her sympathetic one, but settle on a grimace.
"I'm here to have a drink. Seems about time I tried one after I came here so many times."
There's a flash of worry in her eyes, but she just nods.
"Pleased to serve! What can I get you?" She asks, trying to impart excitement in her words.
I open my mouth to answer, but my mind draws up blank. I actually have no idea what to order.
I hear a smooth, small chuckle on my right at the same time as I feel someone sitting on the stool next to me.
"Erin is quite good at just mixing exactly what you need even if you don't know it yourself, you should just order a drink."
Turning around, I see Medusa looking at me with a sympathetic expression on her face, but no pity which makes me relieved.
I turn back to Erin.
"A drink?" I half ask.
She laughs and says it'll be right up.
Taking a small breath, I turn back to Medusa.
"Thank you, it's been a while since I… ahm…"
"Drank a broken-heart out of a bottle?" She asks, taking a sip of her own drink.
I let out a laugh at that.
"Well, last time I decided to forget about them I wasn't allowed to drink yet, so might as well make the most of it now!"
She widens her eyes.
"You broke up?"
"Is it a break up if we weren't actually together?" I ask with bitterness as Erin places a drink in front of me, topping Medusa's drink at the same time.
Erin, having probably heard what I just said, asks.
"Wait, they never properly asked you? What a waste!"
Both Medusa and I just stare at her and I feel a blush wanting to come out.
She shrugs.
"What? I'm spoken for, but I have eyes. Am I wrong?"
She asks, raising an eyebrow at Medusa.
Is that… is she blushing?
Medusas glances my way before picking up her drink and taking a sip. When she looks back, the confidence I had seen earlier is back.
"Not at all."
Well, now I am sure that *I* am blushing. Hard. I take a sip of my drink to try and hide it, feeling more than hearing the other two laugh.
I feel my shoulders relax a bit. This feels nice. A welcome distraction from - no. Not gonna think about them.
Taking a bigger sip I turn to Medusa.
"So, I heard you saying you own a bookshop?"
She looks pleasantly surprised at my question, and with a smile she starts to describe her shop, the titles she gets and the conversation starts to flow as easily as the drinks.
Erin keeps popping by to pipe in every now and then, bringing drinks and funny one liners and before I realise, I am laughing and hours have gone by.
By the time I get home, I feel just too much to do anything but drop down on my bed.
As I start to close my eyes, hurt amysthise eyes look back at me, but I try to push them away. Away to the sound of laughter, drinks and red hair.
