28JUL2020: As I was stretching/strengthening before my am cycle, I listened with acute interest in the NPR report that the U.K./England is going to massively invest in bicycling infrastructure (similar to NL or Switzerland[CH]?) and promote the healthy alternative to always using (motor)vehicles. From offering “refresher/beginner” training courses to completely “segregated bike lanes” is a huge endorsement/supplement to the already decent cycling/pedestrian access in that fantastic country. This (along with NL or CH) is an excellent role model for other countries, especially the USA. It must be noted that areas within the USA have already prioritized multi-modal transport (¡BICYCLES!) such as California (San Diego, San Francisco/Bay Area, Pacific Coast Highway) New York (Brooklyn/Manhattan) New Jersey (Perth Amboy) Maryland (Baltimore, C&O Canal, which includes D.C.) the phenomenal Blue Ridge Parkway (all states/communities adjacent) Texas (US90 despite shoulderless bridges, the still-to-be-signed “International Ft. Hancock - Las Cruces I-10 Bicycle Bypass” which is the best way to explore our “¡Hidden Gem of the World, Crossroads of North America, anchored by El Paso, Cd. Juárez y Las Cruces!”, updated to enclose Agua PrietaSON/DouglasAZ/RodeoNM/AnimusNM/HachitaNM/CDT/Antelope WellsNM/el BerrendoCHIH/KM60 Restaurant/JanosCHIH/AscenciònCHIH/EntronqueCHIH/PalomasCHIH/ColumbusNM/DemingNM/Silver CityNM/HatchNM/LordsburgNM/Yucca Flats Rest AreaNM) Washington State, Montana, Missouri (Chain-of-Rocks/Eads bridges, MRT/Avenue of the Saints), Illinois (Great River Road, horribly inadequate Lakeshore path, outstanding East St. Louis), all of the Great Lakes perimeter including fantastic Canada (I’m particularly fond of Lake Erie perimeter/Southern Ontario/Niagara Falls) and many, many other locales. That is a community emphasis; the U.K. mandate (like NL & CH) is nationwide, using the COVID19 pandemic crisis as a springboard to become healthier. We have Hostels International-American Youth Hostels [HI-AYH] and League of American Bicyclists [LAB] as our advocate in DC; please join both organizations for our future. our own superior hostel downtown: historic Gardner Hotel! 22JUL2020: organizing a few postcards, and I absolutely had to correctly identify this specific card. It is still an exceptionally fine NATIONAL airport, because it is NOT possible to be an international passenger with direct flights into or from MAGNIFICENT MEXICO nowadays. In fact, ever since the bombings of the World Trade Center (Manhattan, NY-USA), the title of “international” was removed (when ALL flights were grounded on “9/11”) and never restored. Prior to “9/11”, ELP was truly international; I and family members had flown from here to Mexico City & Chihuahua in the mid-1990s. Indeed, when returning from Chihuahua, the original plan was to land at Cd. Juárez international airport, but because most if the passengers were returning to the USA, the pilot made an in-flight change to land in El Paso instead. This wonderful airport easily accommodated passport/CPB verification of all passengers. This is the status ELP needs to re-gain to truly serve the population of our “¡Hidden Gem of the World, Crossroads of North America, anchored by El Paso, Cd. Juárez y Las Cruces!” Of course, the best way to explore this fantastic location is from the saddle of a bicycle on the “International Ft. Hancock - Las Cruces I-10 Bicycle Bypass”. Definitely bring your valid passport to facilitate re-entry into the USA—after spending time in MAGNIFICENT MEXICO! This remarkable route has been extended West, and now includes: ColumbusNM/PalomasCHIH, EntronqueCHIH, AscenciònCHIH, JanosCHIH, Restoraunte km60, Agua PrietaSON/DouglasAZ, RodeoNM, LordsburgNM, AnimusNM, DemingNM, El Berrindo/Antelope Wells, HatchNM, and HachitaNM (World HQ for the CDT in Southern NM!) . Be forewarned; as of 02-09OCT2019, Ruta Dos West of Cd. Juárez is REALLY ROTTEN—no shoulders/narrow potholed lanes, definitely not suitable for bicycles or pedestrians/hikers!!!) Anyway, I’ll definitely be out there cycling once the borders open/COVID19 pandemic is figured out. (at El Paso Texas/Juarez) https://www.instagram.com/p/CC9rtOYJcuY/?igshid=tk19tqr48uq4

14JUL2020: on the domestic side, I eagerly await the border opening to more than “essential travellers”. I very much want to return to MAGNIFICENT MEXICO, particularly throughout our “¡Hidden Gem of the World, Crossroads of North America, anchored by El Paso, Cd. Juárez y Las Cruces!”, best accessed by the “International Ft. Hancock - Las Cruces I-10 Bicycle Bypass”, which now includes ColumbusNM/PalomasCHIH/EntronqueCHIH/AscenciònCHIH/JanosCHIH/Restorante km60CHIH/Agua PrietaSON/DouglasAZ/RodeoNM/LordsburgNM/Silver CityNM/DemingNM/AnimusNM/El BerrendoCHIH/Antelope WellsNM/HachitaNM (Southern HQ of the CDT)! AscensionCHIH-EUM: currently overnighted in the outstanding Hotel La Posada, feasted on World’s best Pollo (Felix), shall soon return to cycling rotten Ruta Dos to Janos after likely climb onto the coffee wagon with a stop at the superb OXXO & clinica visit. I am very familiar with the area where the mass killing of 14 dual citizens occurred, and am quite aware of what I am going into. It’s not a case of being pig-headed, but there is NO WAY I’ll reverse course and return over rotten Ruta 2! I’ll be in Janos tonight, then continue West on rotten Ruta Dos some 50miles/80kms to Berrendo/Antelope Wells POE. This is straight through the heart of a plain (very fertile if clean freshwater is irrigated in) just East of the tortuous Sierra Madre Occidental & always perfect Agua PrietaSON-EUM/DouglasAZ-USA POE, where I had re-entered the USA. My knowledge is from an incredible Biketour on Ruta Dos West to TijuanaBC-USA I was pedaling on my beloved Doublevision. Whilst in MAGNIFICENT MEXICO/just East of the tortuous Sierra Madre Occidental, two Good Samaritan truckers gave me a lift through the aforementioned rugged topography to Agua Prieta, for which I’m ever grateful. I didn’t think rotten Ruta Dos could get worse, it did, due to road reconstruction. Had those great truckers not given me/my Doublevision the hitch, I’d probably been walking/pushing my heavily-loaded tandem ‘bent until I needed to be back teaching in the World-class Ysleta school district 2017-8 year! Anyway, I may encounter much more military/police roadblocks—I’ll keep my valid passport handy. (at Ascensión, Chihuahua, Mexico) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4fSYJpFMKa/?igshid=10a5ipl3z2keq

AscensionCHIH-EUM: Hotel La Posada is the BEST place for me and my bicycles to overnight! I was here with my Doublevision 2 years ago (JUN2017) while biketouring (rotten) Ruta Dos to Tijuana [the road got WORSE through Sierra Madre Occidental, so I had the two Good Samaritan truckers who picked me up leave me on Agua Prieta. I aborted the West Coast, returned home via USA/DouglasAZ POE > RodeoNM > LordsburgNM > Silver CityNM > DemingNm > Las CrucesNM > El PasoTX] After World’s BEST POLLO FELIX, relax/recharge, will resume Westbound on rotten Ruta Dos tomorrow to Janos. What I love about MAGNIFICENT MEXICO are the people! (at Mexico) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4deqnRlZoe/?igshid=sftasdtgfsga
