Dear @markedasinfernal, happy holidays! I wrote for you a part of the retelling of Dickens's "A Christmas Carol" with Fëanor as Scrooge. Fingolfin also makes an appearance. Hope you like it!
Tumblr media
(This is just an AI generated image of Feanor and Fingolfin having Yule dinner, but looks kind of festive, so what the heck, I included it. And now to the story...)
A Silmarillion Yule Carol
Summary: Growing ever more bitter and resentful at Formenos, Fëanor gets a Yule Eve experience much like that of Ebenezer Scrooge. A retelling of Dickens's “A Christmas Carol”.
Characters: Fëanor, Fingolfin, Míriel, the Silmarils as Ghosts of Yule Past, Present, Future
Rating: General
Ten years of the designated twelve passed since Fëanor was banished from Tirion, but his heart was none the gladder, as all who knew him could tell.
Nobody anymore stopped him in the street to say, “My dear Fëanor, how are you? When will you come to visit me?” No neighbors anymore asked for his help, even though he might have helped them greatly with whatever they toiled on. He became in these recent years as hard and as sharp as flint, from which no steel could ever struck out a generous fire. He was now secret, and self-contained, and solitary as an oyster. All avoided him, no matter the pearls he might be hiding inside both himself and his stern, grey fortress.
All knew of the Silmarils, of course, locked in a box within a box at Formenos, all knew of the wonders he sat on, all his other treasures, which could have warmed the hearts of so many, especially at this time of year, strewn about and above the streets, and yet only served to feed the cold fires of his resentment. He carried his own low temperature always about with him, and he didn’t thaw it one degree at Yule. No wind that blew was bitterer than he, no falling snow was more intent upon its purpose, no pelting rain less open to entreaty.
Few if any wondered if the banishment made him better or worse, none thought that by the end of it he would forgive his brother Fingolfin. And this chilled their hearts, as if mere thought of a fight between brothers was a bitter wind visiting them from unknown regions of winter and darkness. No one thought of death or suffering, not here in Aman, not so near the light of the Two Trees (at this time of year decidedly even sparklier than usual), but in Fëanor’s stubborn grievances there was something as unbecoming of Aman as a persistent call to unfixable tragedy. It was hard to listen to it and not feel that it would also come to you, and not just to the prideful master blacksmith and his house.
But yet there are still those who would wish to fix even such future unfixable tragedies as Fëanor’s life was threatening to become, or perhaps it was just the Yule season that gave way to some unusual mercy, even by the standards of the Valar (who of these peculiar events we are about to disclose here actually knew next to nothing). It might have been, actually, that the important personage now knocking at the doors of Formenos was just guided by the generous and forgiving spirit of Yule. Fëanor went to open the doors himself, his sword on him as always, as was his custom these last few years.
“A merry Yule, brother! Eru bless you and your work!” said a cheerful voice. It was the voice of Fëanor’s half-brother, which came upon Fëanor so quickly that he froze in the doorframe. In fact, he was so shocked to see his brother that he didn’t even slam the door in his face, as he often fantasized of doing when he couldn’t fall asleep in the small hours of the morning, which was also oft.
“Merry Yule!” he all but spat “What right have you to be merry, oh my brother? What reason have you to be merry? You’re poor enough.”
“Come, then,” returned Fingolfin in good spirit. “What right have you to be dismal? What reason have you to be morose? You’re rich enough.”
“What else can I be,” said Fëanor, “when I live in such a world of fools as this? Merry Yule! What good did it do to you these past years, and what good do you expect it to do to you this year at my doorstep? Why do you think that today I would be more inclined to make peace with you, than any other day in the year?”
“My brother,” said Fingolfin who had (now Fëanor thought) obviously partook a bit too much in the holiday cheer. “I always thought of this time of year as a good time: a kind, forgiving, charitable, pleasant time: the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow-passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys. In that way, I hope you would think of me.”
Fëanor’s face at that changed, almost against his will, into a mask of rage and disdain.
“No one and no one!” he yelled at Fingolfin. “I think of no one as my fellow-passengers. Though, if they find their grave by either going against me, or following me, I should still think them as another race of creatures bound on other journeys. That’s the kind of kinship I share with you, brother!” He said the last word as a curse and slammed the door in Fingolfin’s face. He thought how Fingolfin obviously honed his orator skills in order to, in the future, humiliate him even more in front of the Valar and all his people.
“Still, if you would like,” came a small but clear voice, unchanged in its peaceful mission, behind the door, “you can come to my house for dinner this Yule Eve, or even tomorrow on Yule, if you can’t make it this evening. We would all be very happy if you could join us!”
Behind the closed door, Fëanor waited for Fingolfin’s steps to retreat, and then he also spied on him through the slit window next to the door, to see Fingolfin taking a last glance at the house rather wistfully, and then going away with his head bowed, down the sunny winter street. Fëanor smiled at the sight with satisfaction, not even considering how this lean meal of malice only made him even leaner and meaner.
Suddenly a Yule carol interrupted this train of thoughts.
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never thought upon;
The flames of love extinguished,
and fully past and gone:
Is thy sweet Heart now grown so cold,
In that breast of thine;
That thou canst never once reflect…
Fëanor wrung his door open. He must have made a fearful sight – mad because of Fingolfin’s visit, and still carrying his blade. The poor Maiar singing shut up at once, looking quite shaken, no doubt by the light in Fëanor’s eyes which could get as bright and frightening as that of the Valar in their fury.
“Begone!” bellowed Fëanor, and again slammed his door in someone’s face, as he so liked to do.
There is no doubt that Míriel was dead.
This must be distinctly understood, or nothing wonderful can come of the story I am going to tell. The register of her death was signed by Finwë, while Fëanor was naught by a newborn babe, wriggling and laughing in his father’s arms. It was signed by the Vala Námo, and the clerk – at that time this was a nice chap called Olórin.
Míriel was as dead as a doornail. Of course, her spirit was now confined, bodyless to the impenetrable walls of Mandos, but what did that mean to Finwë, and what did that mean to Fëanor, for that matter? There was to be no words exchanged between mother and son until the end of the world! Fëanor thought his mother as dead, as you or me would think her, if she were our own mother, dead in our present circumstances.
He still thought himself, though, to be his mother’s sole mourner, no doubt to make unnecessary amends for the innocent sweet laughs with which he attended her funeral as a baby. And even he was not so dreadfully cut up by the sad event which happened beyond his realm of reckoning. Sure, he defended the right pronunciation of his mother’s name with chilling ferocity and made enemies among the living for it, but he was not really thinking that he will ever have any more dealings with her as long as he lives.
To surmise, it was with no thought of his mother, that Fëanor now went to his iron chamber to look at his Silmarils in peace. He admired them like this often, his happiness at their perfection only sullied by his fear of them getting stolen.
Getting stolen by whom, you ask? By everyone! By the Valar, by their newly released prisoner Melkor, by Fingolfin! Fëanor thought himself surrounded by enemies, all wanting what was his and his alone.
Opening the box with the Silmarils, he left it by the fireplace. They shimmered with a glow that was like the Valar’s tales of the Flame Imperishable… “It was like the glow of souls…” thought Fëanor and fell asleep in his chair.
He woke up to a sight of a dreadful Ghost.
In countenance it was a woman, but clearly not of this world. Nothing looks more than death than her, thought Fëanor, who suddenly felt like he chose to sleep in a vengeful spirit’s crypt and not in a room in his own house.
The apparition wore a great chain about her which, when moved, made a sound much like the crackling of ice. Fëanor felt the chilling influence of her eyes, but still he was incredulous, and fought against his senses.
“What you want with me?” said Fëanor, caustic and cold as ever.
“Much!”
“Who are you?”
“Ask me who I was.”
“Who were you then?” said Fëanor, raising his voice.
“In life I was your mother, Míriel Serindë.”
“Can you—can you sit down?” asked Fëanor, looking doubtfully at her.
“I can.”
“Do it, then.”
The ghost sat down on the opposite side of the dying fireplace, next to the sparkling Silmarils, as if she were quite used to it.
“You don’t believe in me,” observed the Ghost.
“I don’t,” said Fëanor.
“What evidence would you have of my reality beyond that of your senses?”
“I don’t know,” said Fëanor.
“Why do you doubt your senses?”
“Because,” said Fëanor, “a little thing affects them. A slight disorder of the nerves makes them cheats. There’s more of Fingolfin than of grave about you, whatever you are!”
Fëanor was not much in the habit of cracking jokes. The truth is, that he tried to be smart, as a means of distracting his own attention, and keeping down his terror; for the spectre’s voice and look disturbed the very marrow in his bones.
The spectre then raised a cry, and shook its chain and wrung its shadowy hands.
Fëanor fell from the chair upon his knees, and clasped his hands before his face.
“Mercy!” he said, shaking. “Dreadful apparition, why do you trouble me?”
“Man of the worldly mind!” replied the Ghost, “Do you believe in me or not?”
“I do,” said Fëanor. “I must. But why do the dead walk the earth, and why do they come to me?”
The Ghost remained silent.
“You are fettered,” said Fëanor, trembling. “Tell me why!”
“I wear the chain I forged in life,” replied the Ghost. “I made it link by link, and yard by yard; I girded it on of my own free will, and of my own free will I wear it. Is its pattern strange to you?”
Fëanor trembled more and more.
“Or would you know,” pursued the Ghost, “the weight and length of the strong coil you bear yourself? It was as heavy and as long as this, ten Yule Eves ago. You have laboured on it, since. It is a ponderous chain!”
Fëanor glanced about him on the floor, in the expectation of finding himself surrounded by some fifty or sixty fathoms of iron cable: but he could see nothing.
“Tell me more,” he said.
“No rest, no peace. Incessant torture of remorse. That is my fate now, and yours, Spirit of Fire – if you do not heed my warning, as no space of regret can make amends for one life’s opportunity misused!”
“Mother!”
He felt a distinct outrage – he, the genius, the progeny, the most talented of all the Children of Ilúvatar – he out of all of them was to regret a misspent life? He worked tirelessly at his craft every day since childhood and never once did he feel the need to rest. If anyone valued their time in this world, it was surely Fëanor, the greatest artist that was ever to be, the richest and most blessed in power of mind and body of all the Eldar! Of the Valar even!
“Now you are thinking how it can’t be that you’ve wasted even just one hour of your life,” said Miriel with a sad, knowing smile.
“So what?” said Fëanor with some new fire. “Everything among people is transient, and I am turned towards eternity with my work. What is happiness and grief among people to Fëanor? What is merriment to me? All the same, and that makes me the best of them all!”
“And my life and death is all the same to you as well?” said his mother. “Do you honestly think that you and your life would have been the same if I were now alive with you?”
Fëanor said nothing, and just stared at his mother with a mixture of flame and water in his eyes – the water could not extinguish the flame, but the flame would not be tamed by tears.
“Life is not through with you yet, my son!” said Miriel. “And there’s more to it than just craft. Craft is not your only business, kindness is your business too, generosity, mercy – to give as well as to receive!”
Fëanor said nothing.
“I am here tonight to warn you, that you have yet a chance and hope of escaping my fate. A chance and hope of my procuring, Fëanor.”
“You were always in my thoughts,” Fëanor managed to say.
“You will be haunted,” resumed the Ghost, “by Three Spirits.”
Fëanor’s countenance fell low.
“Is that the chance and hope you mentioned, mother?” he demanded, in a faltering voice. “Three Maiar, to do the bidding of our enslavers, the Valar?”
“Not of this world,” said the Ghost. “Not of here. The Valar know nothing of this. This is a special chance for you Fëanor, a special mercy from regions as unknown to the Valar, as they are to you.”
“I—I think I’d rather not,” said Fëanor.
“Without their visits,” said the Ghost, “you cannot hope to shun the path I tread.”
“When might I expect them…? Mother…!”
But the apparition walked backward from him; and at every step it took, the doors of the iron chamber raised themselves a little, so that when the spectre reached them, they were wide open.
The Ghost beckoned Fëanor to approach, which he did. When they were within two paces of each other, she held up her hand, warning him to come no nearer. Fëanor stopped. Not so much in obedience, as in surprise and fear: for on the raising of the hand, he became sensible of confused noises in the air beyond the door; incoherent sounds of lamentation and regret; wailings inexpressibly sorrowful and self-accusatory. The spectre, after listening for a moment, joined in the mournful dirge; and floated out upon the bleak, dark rest of Fëanor’s home that obviously somehow just opened to the Halls of Mandos.
It might have been a mercy to fall unconscious there and then, but Fëanor didn’t. Wisely he then surmised, shaking and quaking first upon the floor, and then upon the chair, and then upon his bed he also kept in this treasure vault, that there is to be no shortcut out of this, that the only thing he could do was to wait upon the Three Spirits! Exactly then, as some gift from above, he fell asleep upon the bed, still in his clothes, even with some unusual peace.
It might have passed fifteen minutes or fifteen hundred years of sleep – but it was still, or again, the dead of night, and someone was standing before his pillow, face to face, a glow not unlike his Silmarils…
“Ahhhh…” he said, frightened.
“Hello,” said a small voice.
“Are you the Spirit, sir, whose coming was foretold to me?” asked Fëanor, getting up on his elbow to better see his rather short guest.
“I am!” said the child who, now Fëanor could see it, had a cap that was alight with an unearthly glow.
“Who, and what are you?” Fëanor demanded.
“I am the Ghost of Yule Past.” The voice was soft and gentle. Singularly low, as if instead of being so close beside him, it were at a distance.
“Past?”
“Your past.”
“But are you a Vala or a Maia or something else entirely?”
The ghost looked at him with what seemed a bit of amusement.
“I am that which you encased in your own life,” the precocious child said spreading his arms wide “A light in a case of Time! The Fate of Arda – Past, Present, Future – lies locked within me, and my brothers!”
Fëanor couldn’t breathe or say anything for a moment.
“A Silmaril!” he gasped. “But you are…”
“You wished us souls, flames of the Flame Imperishable,” said the sweet child, “your wish has now been granted! Rejoice!”
Fëanor watched the child incredulously. He could, in fact, clearly see that his work has been finished and perfected, just as he once only wished he could accomplish. He could see in this child all his secret thoughts, beautifully expressed. A single tear came to his eye, which he promptly wiped with his forearm. His past! This was his past before him, reincarnated in the sweetest form, his past as he experienced it, but now already forgotten it.
“Well, what business have you then still with me?” he asked.
“Your welfare!” said the child and took him by the hand. His hand, small and warm, was not to be resisted. Fëanor felt it was as strong as his own, if not stronger. “Walk with me!”
“Where to?” said Fëanor, stumbling out of the bed. “It’s the middle of the night! And outside, it’s way below freezing, and I am lightly dressed…”
“No worries,” said the sweet voice and touched him lightly upon the heart. Fëanor felt a sudden warmth spread across all his body, and a lightness of a sorts – he didn’t even know what was happening when the Silmaril took him, with its all-penetrating light through the nearest wall (were the walls of his formidable vault really this perishable?) and into a silent, great field covered in snow. The skies above were clear and sparkly. In the distance there was an inviting pale-yellow light, a house at the edge of the field, so familiar…
“I know this place!” said Fëanor, excited, turning towards the house. “This is where my father and I spent our Yules when I was a young boy!”
“Indeed,” said the Silmaril, observing him keenly.
AN: I know this ends kind of abruptly, and I had (and still have) every intention of finishing the fic, but unfortunately I had an unexpected death in the family this week and just felt too sad to continue...

is me Dealing With Allergies & having a brain the consistency of soup a good time to make rift of nurz ghashu conspiracy theories? probably not. am i going to do it anyway? yes!
granted tho this is just me working stuff out for fics bc i need data before i decide whether or not to completely ignore said data
anyway. the rift. what the heck is going on there, right? we’re ignoring all the loot you get because that’s a whole other ballgame
the whole thing has Very Gondor/Arnor architecture, but tons of ruins and there’s even a coliseum too so it’s definitely numenorean/numenoreans’ descendants flavored (honestly look at the sheer scale of the rift it’s HUGE) but the really interesting thing (for me) is that in the rift raid there’s a pretty chill member of the eldgang that you talk to called Asmolf and he says all this:
Tumblr media
most importantly: the city wasn’t Always Like That, so we can probably assume that it wasn’t a case of carn dum being actively built over nasty stuff and the nasty stuff happened after
the eldgang made it into the rift after something called ‘the great destruction’ but thaurlach was there before them and was imprisoned sometime after and is still imprisoned.
“the Great Destruction” is a point unto itself honestly, but i’ll get to that in a second.
Glathlirel also says this later on in the raid:
"Long ago, at the breaking of Thangorodrim, Thaurlach flew to this land and I gave chase. At his coming, all was beset with brimstone and flame, and he eluded me. For long years he lay hidden, until the Dark Power rose again and Thaurlach awoke from his secret slumber. He was revealed to me in that moment, and I struggled with him in battle. With the aid of the wizards I threw down my foe: defeated, but not slain.
the breaking of thangorodrim happened roughly around 587 of the first age and  sauron didn’t start bulking up in mordor [secretly] until 1000 SA and didn’t declare himself openly until 1600 SA, which was also when Glorfindel and the two Blue Wizards came to Middle Earth.
with all those points made, that brings me back to the Great Destruction: what can cause cities to “fall to the earth?”
earthquakes? maybe! but the way that asmolf refers to it as The Great Destruction makes me think that something a little more intense is going on.
so originally arda was flat until the fall of numenor [during 3319]. the reason numenor was drowned is a pretty long story that i don’t want to get too in depth here but the short version is that eru ended up creating an enormous rift between numenor and aman which numenor itself was swept into and then the flat world bent back upon itself and to meet at this rift making arda now round.
presumably this caused all kinds of wacky natural hijinks, probably like flooding and earthquakes where there really wasn’t any of either before, and if there were earthquakes before the earth got made round, they probably weren’t on such a magnitude as what would happen from the world being bent into a sphere.
since thaurlach ended up hiding himself so well that even glathlirel couldn’t find him for a while, it’s possible the numenoreans built the city in their early years*  not knowing he was there since he only seems to have woken up due to sauron’s shenanignans in mordor.
*anywhere from SA 750 onward until SA 1300ish? because the former is when Aldarion started the guild of venturers, especially since there’s mention of pre-fall-of-numenor numenorean outposts & such that littered middle earth in the second age and it's possible that some didn't last very long and were abandoned pretty early due to reasons such as: no profitable exports, the land just kinda sucks/not good for growing things, etc etc.
so, tldr: what i think happened was: thangorodrim broken > thaurlach runs from beleriand into angmar > hides really well > Numenor founded > aldarion begins voyaging > the numenoreans are starting to really expand into middle earth > city in the rift founded > the settlement there didn’t do so hot so the numenoreans left > sauron is back, oops > the blue wizards arrive and help glathlirel imprison thaurlach > everyone chilling for a while > oh no numenor is gone, thaurlach is still imprisoned, somehow, but the rest of the rift is extremely messed up > the eldgang arrive.
or something to that effect, listen i just needed somewhat of a timeline for a bit in a fic

Opposite Day: Contrary Fairy Gives DuPont High Their Worst Nightmare (Part 1)
Hello everyone! Here’s my take on my prompt, Opposite Day (Or DuPont’s Worst Nightmare). Does anyone even remember I said I would take on this prompt? It’s been such a long time. Ha ha ha. If you want to be added to the taglist, let me know.
If anyone takes on this prompt too, the Akuma or any details in this fic doesn’t have to be the same. Go with your vision as you see fit. I don’t mind.
A student at Dupont is Akumatized into Contrary Fairy. She has the power to turn people into their “Opposite” self by taking a victim’s major personality traits and switches them with an antonym of it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 1: This is just the beginning
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mrs. Bustier’s class awaits in eager anticipation for the arrival of Marinette Dupain-Cheng. The only people who haven’t arrived yet is Adrien, Marinette, and Lila. Today is Alya’s birthday and her first friend at Dupont is bringing her a special birthday cake. Even though they’ve had some disagreements about Lila, Marinette is still bringing her a gift. It’s a rough patch, but she knows they’ll get past this bump in the road. Alya privately admits to herself that Marinette gets a bit high strung about Adrien sometimes. In the end, Marinette will get along with Lila like she does with Kagami.
“Where’s Lila? She’s usually here by now. She promised to tell me about her charity work in Nigeria,” said a concerned Mylene. “Did she have an emergency trip again?”
Alya assures Mylene. “Lila is just running late. She promised to be here today.”
Just as she was mentioned, Lila walks with a nervous look on her face. It quickly changes to a happy smile when she spots Ayla. “Happy Birthday Alya!” Lila quickly jumps Ayla and gives her a strong hug.
“Whoa. You’re really energetic today.” Ayla returns the hug.
“I’m so happy to celebrate with my best friend.”
When Alix grumbles out loud about tricky math problems, Lila excuses herself  to go help her.
Ten minutes later, Marinette walks in with the cake along side.....is that Adrien? Alya thinks the blonde boy in ripped black jeans, black jacket, and a devil horns headband. The classes’ sunshine has become the sunset.
“Good morning Marinette.” Marinette, strangely, ignores her.
Nino asks, shocked, “Dude, you’re finally rebelling against your father?”
“The old man can’t tell me what to do. By the time I’m done today, he won’t stand to have any black in his designs. Not even the buttons.”
“Adrien, count me in.”
Nino grabbed Adrien and they seated themselves in the back of the classroom for a private conversation.
Ayla turns her attention to Marinette, who’s been very chilly to her. Very unlike her. Usually they’d say their good mornings and jump right into gossiping. She has a very bad feeling about this.
Marinette drops the delicious looking cake into the trashcan next to Mrs. Bustier’s Desk. “Oops,” says a unremorseful Marinette.
Gasps echo in the classroom. Rose asks,” M-Marinette....why would you do that?”
What Marinette says next nearly gives her a heart attack.
“You owe me 500 euros. When you sprung on me to babysit your sisters, they broke my new sewing machine. You’re lucky they didn’t destroy anything else or you would be talking to my celebrity clients’ lawyers.”
“I’m so sorry! I’ll pay you back, I swear. I’ll tell my sisters to be more responsible too.” Ayla is shocked Marinette didn’t say anything yesterday when she came to pick up the twins. It’s become a routine for them. If Alya wants to do anything last minute, she’ll drop off the twins with Marinette. Later, the kids will be picked up and the money dropped off. Marinette is owed a favor as well.
Alya has to tell her parents what happened. She doesn’t have enough money to pay Marinette. The money saved from side jobs is not enough to cover it in full. Her and the twins were all going to be in trouble, but it’ll be worth it to make it right for Marinette. No more last minute babysitting either. Heck, on top of the babysitting money, she’ll do more favors for Marinette in exchange for scheduled babysitting if her bestie is up for it in the future.
“Good. I expect the money in my hands soon.” Marinette takes her usual seat next to Ayla. It’s kinda awkward since Marinette refuses to speak to her.
The birthday celebration mood is gone. The class is filled with quiet whispers as no one dared to raise their voice too loud. Marinette’s look of displeasure when Rose once made the mistake to happily squeal a bit too high pitched scares the rest of the class to behave.
It gets worse once Mrs. Bustier comes to start the class session. The teacher announces her presence with an angry door slam. The rest of the time is stressful as everyone did their best to avoid drawing Mrs. Bustier’s ire. Once class ended, everyone left in a hurry.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alya thought the worst was over. She was wrong. Horribly, horribly wrong. This is just the beginning.
The morning classes’ teachers suddenly became strict. Their usual passiveness replaced with a no nonsense attitude. When brave students asked why the sudden strictness, most of the teachers said something along the lines of orders from up top. Rumors circulated there’s going to a school inspection soon.
Strict teachers like Ms. Mendeleiev are their usual selves. The classes where they sit together is painful. Marinette barely talks to her. And when she does, it’s in a passive aggressive manner.
Alya is relived when lunch is finally here. She didn’t think she would have made it until lunch without Lila. Her kind friend did her best to cheer her up. Very helpful with group assignments, ran damage control when Alya messed up a few times in a presentation, and gave her useful tips in physics. This kindness must be what others experienced in Lila’s adventures around the world. No wonder her friend has so many famous friends.
Lila was so kind to carry Alya’s lunch to their table. Her girl even paid for her lunch. Her friend insisted it’s the least she could do to repay Ayla for doing the same.
Alya slumps in her seat. Lila is taken by an excited Mylene to her table. “Hey guys, had a rough day too?”
Groans abound at their table.
Nino sighs. “Did you guys hear? There might be an inspection soon and the teachers want everything in order before they get here.”
Alix rolls her eyes. “Yeah, time to cover up the things that’ll make them look bad.”
Kim pouts. “My history teacher told me to quit my dares. I can do them again on Friday.”
“That’s three days from now,” Juleka says slowly.
They chat a bit. Not much excitement besides Mylene getting upset about something and Lila consoling her.
Aurore and Mireille unexpectedly come to their table.  Aurore places a hand on Alya’s shoulder. The weather girl says with concern, “I know you can’t talk about it, but we just wanted to let you know we both support you.”
Alya looks at them confused. “What are you talking about?”
Mireille pipes up. “Your message on the Ladybug.”
Ayla thinks back to her recent posts. Nothing comes to mind that’ll warrant the concern they’re showing. The latest post is just LadyNoir shipping. The post before that talks about the damage her camera received from dropping it. No way the weather girls would approach her over such a trivial matter.
“Oh dear, you don’t know what were talking about?”  Mireille looks concerned. “Alya, you need to check the Ladyblog.”
Ayla quickly digs through her bag. She’s unable to find her phone. “I can’t find my phone.”
Aurore hands over her phone. “Here, I already have it open.”
Alya gets the second heart attack today.
Dear Ladyblog fans,
I’m sad to say due to legal issues I’m taking down the blog soon. Certain posts contained false information. I’ve already deleted the mentioned posts. I didn’t do my due diligance in fact checking. I should’ve provided sources. For that, I’m so sorry.
- Ladyblogger out (for the final time)
Alya mind-numbingly taps the Ladyblog’s home page. It refreshes to a ‘sorry the website you’re looking for is deleted’ page.
Nino peaks over her shoulder. “Oh god, Alya......” Their reactions gets everyone else huddled over the phone. Gasps ring out.
“Guys, I didn’t write that message. Or take down the Ladyblog.”
Nathaniel asks, “Then who did?”
Doesn’t take Ayla long to figure it out. “Whoever stole my phone did.” Her phone was already logged into the Ladyblog’s admin page. She puts her heartbreak on hold to solve the mystery. “I need to do some investigating.”
“We’ll help you,” says Aurore. Mireille nods with a look of determination.”
“Me too!”
“Don’t worry! We’ll get justice.”
“I’m with you Alya.”
Alya tears up a bit, touched. “Thanks everyone.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They’ve spent half of lunch interviewing students. They have a lead. One girl in Ayla’s last class before lunch said she saw Marinette borrow the mentioned phone. Although the girl didn’t see if Marinette put it back. After some more asking around, Marinette was last seen in the student council room.
“-and that concludes our council of evil meeting.”
Marinette’s face forms a grimace when she catches sight of them. “What are you doing here?”
Alya is taken aback. “Girl, I know it was super expensive, but I think you’re taking it too far.”
The student council members snicker.
“Oh my god, are these the gullible morons?” This comment opens the floodgate.
“I’m best friends with the tooth fairy. I can tell you all about on your tabloi-I mean credible blog.”
“I’m secretly Rena Rouge. Want an Autograph?”
“I can hook you up with Stan Lee. Even though he’s dead.”
“I’m the president of the United States. I’m doing this council stuff for fun.”
“I’m Adrien’s secret girlfriend. So secret even he doesn’t know.”
“HEY! I’m just here to ask Marinette something.” Alya looks right at Marinette’s blank face. “You’re the last person seen with my phone. Did you see anyone suspicious near it when you were done with it?”
The student council erupts into laughter. Once Marinette stops laughing she answers, “Oh my, you didn’t figure it out yet? I deleted your blog.”
“W-What?” The revelation startles Alya. The everyday Ladybug never made it to the suspect list. Not even the top ten.
Alya mind is well rested now. The pieces are coming together. This morning’s strangeness, Marinette’s hostility increasing throughout the day, and the teachers sudden 180.
“An Akuma got you. All of you.” The Marinette she knows would never be so cruel.
Marinette raises an eyebrow. “No, I just stopped keeping in what’s bothering me. Besides, I didn’t see an Akuma today.” Various student council members pipe in the same. No one else saw an Akuma.
“So either an Akuma snipped all of you or none of you remember.”
“Look tabloid reporter, I would have noticed if Hawkmoth’s latest fashion disaster was here.” Marinette waves them away. “Shoo pests, unlike some people, we have a lot of work to get done. The school dance won’t magically appear itself.”
“Don’t worry Mari,  I’ll get help. You’ll be back to normal soon.”
“Come on guys, we need to let the teachers know an Akuma is here.”
“Let’s try Ms. Mendeleiev. She seems her usual strict self.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Thanks for following my lead everyone. Glad we don’t have to waste time fending them off if they discovered we already knew about the Akuma.”
“No problem President Marinette.”
“That’s Queen Marinette to you peasants.”
“Yes, your most evilness.”
“Aren’t we going to stop them? They know about the Akuma now?”
“There’s a plan in place. It’s been several hours and no one has ‘seen’ an Akuma running around. Why do you think that is?”
“You think of everything Queen Marinette.”
“Of course I do. One of you tell our ally Contrary Fairy the Akuma class knows now. They may be stupid, but they have been competent help to Ladybug before.”
“Yes, my Queen.”
“Don’t forget to tell her to get Ms. Mendeleiev ASAP. The only competent teacher in this school might believe them.”
“Yes, my Queen.”
“Let’s have some fun before Ladybug spoils it.”

Lila will be featured more in part 2.
I sprinkled in some salt tropes. I find it funny they work so well for Chloe 2.0.

So I checked out your stories and I LOVE THEM!!!!!!! Your 'Little Moments' chapters are all so amazingly written, unique, and well captured. I'm also going through your other stories and am now waiting eagerly for the next chapter of "Effects of War" but now I want to know more about Avaleina cause she's the only Legolas x OC I've ever liked.
Oh my god??? Wow thanks!!!! Im so glac you like her, I need more people to SO like here we go guys 🤷‍♀️
• She was one of 5 elflings who had both parents die when Amon Lang fell. The same night that Legolas lost his mother.
• They come to be known as the "Orphans of Greenwood," and most grow to become the most fierce and most intimidating of Greenwoods army. Burning rage and revenge are incredibly good motivators.
• Thranduil ended up basically making a dormitory for all of them inside the Mountian, since all the elflings were too tramatuized and unwilling to be adopted to another family.
• I always thought that Thranduil was the type of father who was fully invested on all of his sons friends lives, and he has more than enough lecturing and love to go around so he kept a super close eye in them all.
• So the orphans were raised by an assortment of well meaning and over protective staff and a King.
• Anyway Legolas was super good friends with all of them, and grew up with all of them but he was particularly close to two of them. Farlen and Avaleina.
• But especially especially Avaleina
• Thranduil can keep his crown and Greenwood because these two have their own domain because they are the King & Queen of friends to lovers but slowburn af
• If you look up "Commitment Issues" in a Silvan dictionary it'll just be a drawing of Legolas. He saw and felt what losing his mother was like, and he see's everyday how much his father still hurts over missing her.
• So he decided when he was like 10 that he would never fall in love. No sir. No love for him. That was too painful, and he wanted nothing to do with it, losing friends was enough.
• If you catch only one of them doing something dumb, dangerous or against the rules then you better keep looking cause you best believe the other one is lurking nearby.
• They're absolutely ridiculous togeather sometimes cause they have so many inside jokes and energy and theyre so hecking comfortable around eachother, and they both can be really loud without meaning to be out of excitement.
• Ava knew she was in love with Legolas wwwaaayyyy before he knew he was in love with her. But she didn't say anything cause she knew him and she knew it would freak out.
• Meanwhile Thranduil and Galion were watching from a distance taking bets on how long it would take them to get togeather.
• When they did FINALLY get togeather Legolas was also the King of trying to break it off several times but then changing his mind for various reasons. (Near death experiences, his father/Galion talking him out of it, jealousy, Ava just absolutely not taking ANY of his shit, ect)
• They kept everything Super Super Secret (even from their own people.) And while Thranduil noticed the change, he never asked and they never outright told him. Occasionally, he would make passing veiled comments that he was fully aware of their secret and they never denied anything.
• They never once said "I love you," to eachother That Way until after the war.
• Because Love Is Dangerous And Bad And We Do Not Love Here.
• Instead; They would ask one another to marry them, when nobody else could hear OR "We're going to die doing this." "At least you'll finally meet my Nana."
• He made her engagment rings out of random object literally all of the time. She has a whole box fill of them.
• Sometimes ribbons, bow strings, grass blades, flower petteles, strips of tree back. Anything. Everything.
• They were both on a team called the Amarth which translates to "Doom" which was essentially the Navy Seal team of Greenwood. This made them even more disturbingly close cause TRAUAMA BONDING ANYONE
• If they're on the same patrol in the forest they usually sleep next to eachother, or one sleep while the other keeps watch. At home, she usually sneaks into his room and crawls into bed in the middle of the night so that they can sleep togeather. Cause they both sleep significantly better with the other one around.
• Legolas didn't say a single thing about her to anyone during the quest just in case little ears of the enemy overhear and tell those working with the darkness in Greenwood how important she was.
• He was terrified the entire time that she would meet the same fate as his mother. Or that she would be kidnapped and used against his father. Or worse. Kidnapped for the sake of it.
• So he didn't say anything until after he got home, and she almost punched him in the face for joining the fellowship.
• She goes to Ilithein with him but also does quite a but of traveling with him and Gimli
• Gimli adores her. Absolutely adores her.
• Not only because he pretty much legally has to love anybody Legolas does, but also because of how Legolas is whenever she's around. Like. He thought Legolas was annoyingly happy during the quest?? That's nothing compared to being reunited with your lifelong best friend after surviving a war both of you had just assumed would painfully kill the both of you, and then get to enjoy a newly peaceful word togeather the likes of which neither had ever experienced AND be publicly affectionate????
• Nothing beats that. Nothing.
• He leaves for Valinor before her because of his Sea longing, she stays until the very very last of the Greenwood elves are ready to sail. And then a bit longer than that cause she goes with the Twins to find Maglor and make him sail west with them.
• She and Legolas get married twice. Once it middle earth so all their mortal friends can be there and then once in Aman once all if their family has come back to life.
• He might as well have: "If she's on the other side of the world and the only way I can reach her is to cut the earth in half with a dull spoon, i would be there in 3 days," tatood in his face
• And she should have : "If you day or do literally one single thing to hurt him after everything he's done I'm going to hurt you until Eru himself regrets making you," in hers.
• They're the biggest fucking dorks in the WORLD who I just want to run around singing and making jokes and be togeather and I love them very much.

Due to possible spoilers, please read the 1st index before proceeding.
★ Please DO NOT re-translate or post this translation anywhere.
CHAPTER 1: Morning☆Star: A New Voyage to Aerospace
That day... That’s right, February 171 became a very special day to us all.
The stars from the penlights that coloured the audience. MARGINAL#4 who sang up on stage while being given that twinkling light. Just thinking about it now still brings me to tears.
And───
“The next single...?” “That’s right, I’ve considered it. I’m also thinking of giving them media exposure as a way of promoting it so please take care of that.” “I-It’s not a lie, right...?”
Director strongly nodded. My heart was beating rapidly upon hearing the news, which sounded too good to be true.
“The response at their stage the other day was greater than I had imagined.” “That... is all thanks to everyone’s efforts. Um, about this news...” “Fufu, since I’m telling you about this now, you might as well tell all the members too while you’re at it.” “Is it alright for me to?” “Of course. You are their Manager after all.”
The usually strict Director is sweetly smiling. It isn’t until I see that that all of this finally feels real.
(I have to let everyone know as soon as possible!)
★☆★
I got in touch with the members, telling them to come to the agency at once. Even as I wait for their arrival, I can’t contain my excitement...
“Sup, Manager! You suddenly sent us a reply, but what’s the matter?” “Exactly, not to mention you are behaving somewhat strangely...”
It seems Atom-kun and Rui-kun met up along the way and came here together. Such a thing was unimaginable for these two back when they first met...
“...For you to be grinning all of a sudden, what is the matter?” “Eh?! Was I making that expression?” “You were. Isn’t that right, Atom-kun?” “Yeah. It was clear as day to me. You were grinning so broadly that I feel like taking a photo of it and sharing it around.” “What is it?” "Well...”
Just as I was about to explain that it was because I was just so happy, the door opened up once more.
“Yaho~♪” “...Ah... You two are already here... Sorry we kept you waiting...”
Eru-kun is smiling cheerily while Aru-kun is concerned about everyone. Their personalities are completely different from one another, but I know that that difference is what brings forth the nice balance between the two.
After I got the four to sit on the sofa, I also then sat facing them from across the table.
“Everyone’s here. What I want to talk about... is MARGINAL#4′s future.”
After I exchanged glances with each and every one of them, the four gazed back intently at me.
“.........It looks like it’s settled. The release of your next single!”
“WOAHHHHHHH!! FOR REAL?!!” “I-Is it really…?!” “YAAAY! Alright~! I’m as happy as infinite marimo…!” “Eh, um…! What do I do… Um…!”
Atom-kun makes a triumphant pose, and Rui-kun heaves a sigh of relief. Next to Eru-kun, who is grinning ear to ear, is Aru-kun whose eyes are wet with tears.
“Manager! We can’t sit still! Let’s get started on our lessons this instant!” “Atom-kun is exactly right. We need to begin right away...!” “Yeah... This means we can meet everyone again, doesn’t it... I’m 1000% happy!” “O-Our level of joy has already reached its MAX, hasn’t it!”
Everyone holds hands and rejoices. I feel happy just from watching. I realise just how much of a dear existence these four... MARGINAL#4 has become to me.
(Alright! I need to work even harder and support everyone!)
★☆★
Having woken up early in the morning the following day, I made my way to the rehearsal hall much earlier than the appointed time.
“Good morning, Manager.” “Ah, Rui-kun!”
Rui-kun is already in his training jersey. Sweat is faintly spreading across his forehead.
“You are early today.” “Um, well, when I thought about what’s going to happen from here on, I just couldn’t sit still.” “I see. ...Were you in quite a hurry to leave home?” “Eh? How did you know?” “Because──”
Rui-kun’s hand quietly reaches out towards me.
“Fufu, you still have some bed hair over here, you see.”
Rui-kun said while pinching a side section of my hair.
“Ehh, no way! R-Really?! I need to fix it right away...” “Fufu...”
(Perhaps I was a little too enthusiastic. Since I’m their Manager, I need to calm down a bit.)
“U-Umm, thanks for telling me... Are you practising on your own?” “Yes. Even if it is just a little, I wish to make some advanced preparations. However..." “...?” “I am not the only one who feels that way. The other three are also here. See for yourself.”
I followed the direction Rui-kun pointed at to see that the other three were doing stretches. Noticing me, Atom-kun waved his arms about.
“What with everyone here, it feels like we’re training together rather than training on our own.” “Certainly, it does. For everyone to gather together without any premeditation... it is truly a wonder. Well then, it is about time I be on my way.”
After cheerfully smiling, Rui-kun ran off to the others for practice.
It naturally brought a full smile to my face when I watched those backs.
(How nice. It truly feels like MARGINAL#4 has become one.)
I want to do whatever I can for them.
★☆★
During the break from dance lessons, I stood in front in front of the vending machine, debating which drinks to get, when Aru-kun showed up.
“...Um......... Manager...”
Slightly pulling at my sleeve, Aru-kun is finding the words to say.
“...Um... I was thinking that I haven’t thanked you properly.” “Thank me...?” “It’s thanks to you that the next step in our development has been decided. It’s because you did your utmost best for us. Thank you so much.” “I’m the one who should be thanking you. I’m really fortunate to have been able to witness such a wonderful moment.” “...R-Really...?” “Yup!”
Aru-kun looks down to hide his slightly red cheeks. He breaks into a heartwarming smile. At that moment───
“I, as the leader, shall work harder and harder. Because MARGINAL#4 is my precious PT...!”
Both of Aru-kun’s hands wrap around mine. Unexpectedly large and firm hands. I feel his warmth slowly being transmitted to mine.
(A-As expected of an idol...)
I can feel my cheeks grow hot with his sincere eyes gazing at me.
“Ah──! Aru, just whaaat are you doing with Manager behind my back! Not fair!!”
Pointing, Eru-kun ran over and then inserted himself between Aru-kun and me. After grabbing Aru-kun by both shoulders and jostling him aside, he draws himself up to his full height with his back facing me.
“So, Aru, what were you talking about? It’s a secret, right?” “N-No! I was just thanking her! And saying how I’ll continue to do my best.” “Hmm...”
Eru-kun turns around and pouts as if sulking.
“Really? Hey, Manager, is that true?”
He leans forward and peers into my face. Unlike Aru-kun’s, his eyes are that of a child who likes teasing adults and getting up to mischief.
“I-It’s true.” “Hmm... I wonder... Fufu...” “It really is the truth!” “Fuun, I seeee... That’s good then ♪”
As if his sulking was a lie, Eru-kun cracked a smile.
“Hey, Manager. I’ll also work hard so as to not lose to Aru so watch me, okay?” “Of course.” “It’s a promise. Now I really have to try harder then, don’t I! Let’s go, Aru! We can’t rest forever!” “Y-Yeah!”
Pulled along by Eru-kun, Aru-kun also broke into a run.
(Fufu, all of them sure are good, hard-working boys...)
☆★☆
Lessons afterwards go on for hours on end. However, not a single person show signs of fatigue. In fact, Atom-kun in particular has become more energetic as time goes by.
“I seriously feel refreshed, moving my body like this! Alright, time for Twitter...!” “Atom-kun, you really like Twitter, don’t you.” “Somehow, it feels like we’re all connected, doesn’t it? The great ATM’s TL is also lively today!” “Eh, don’t you get angry whenever you are called ‘ATM’?” “At first, yeah. But... When you think about it, doesn’t it sound cool?! When I have all my followers calling me that, it’s like I’ve gained more friends and that makes me happy.” “Fufu, Atom-kun sure has a lot of friends.” “Well yeah! What’s this? You’re saying that you also want to get along even be~tter with me? Hmm?!”
He puts both hands on his hips and says that like he’s issuing me a challenge.
“Of course, I want to get along with you.”
In order to properly understand everyone as their Manager.
“.........What the heck, you’re no fun to tease.” “Eh?” “It’s nothing! Anyway... I gotta work hard for everyone’s sake as well! Alright!”
Motivating himself, Atom-kun began to dance again. He always has a smile on his face, but he shows a serious expression when it comes to practice. I have always been impressed by that side of his.
Of course, that doesn’t just apply to Atom-kun.
“Atom-kun, let us synchronise our dancing once more.” “You got it! Let’s do it, Rui!” “Me too, me too! I’m joining in!” “W-Wait! Then... how about we all do it together, starting from the top?”
Everyone nods and returns to their standing positions.
With everyone gathered together and practising like this, I can feel each of their feelings towards MARGINAL#4 as a whole being conveyed.
(These members will be able to bring a shower of stars on stage again!)
I am confident of that.
☆★☆
(Since everyone is working hard, I need to too...!)
I rent every possible kind of DVDs that can serve as reference for MARGINAL#4′s stages. My bag became very heavy already thanks to that, but then I also made my way to the book store after remembering that an idol magazine was out on sale today.
(M-My bag is really heavy as to be expected...)
Afterwards, I went to do some research on CD shops that by the time I arrived in front of my own home, midnight had rolled around.
(Um, key, where’s the key...)
I rummage through my bag, but it isn’t to be found due to being buried underneath the DVDs and magazine. I shoved my hand underneath all that ─── and froze. I could sense a presence from behind me.
(...Someone... is there...?)
Should I turn around? The sound of footsteps echoed immediately after that thought. In that same moment, there was a loud sigh. There’s no doubt about it. It’s a man.
“It is you, isn’t it. MARGINAL#4′s Manager.”
A deep and displeased voice.
(H-How do they know me? I don’t recognise this voice...)
“Good grief. To be out and about this late, you are quite the careless person.”
(W-What do I do...!)
“Now then, let us have a little cha──”
The moment a hand touched my shoulder───
“M-Molester──!!” “Wha...!”
I turn around and strike the man with my bag with all my might. The bag’s contents are scattered on the ground so as to drown out his voice.
“...You must have some nerve to suddenly treat people like a deviant.” “...Eh?” “I see that you are very lacking in common sense. It is because you are like that that you are looked down upon...”
I gathered the courage to look at the man. No matter how I look at him, there is nothing suspicious about him. If anything, he is even wearing a perfectly fitted suit.
“Ah, this is a problem. My glasses are bent...”
(Oh no, did I end up causing something serious...?)
A happy-go-lucky-sounding ringtone was then heard from my mobile phone, which had gotten mixed in among the belongings scattered at my feet. I don’t know why, but I look at the man standing before my eyes. With a displeased look still on his face, he nodded in silence.
(He’s saying to hurry up and pick it up, isn’t he...)
I nervously pressed the call button. The voice I heard belonged to Director. Her greetings were brief, and she got right down to business.
“Actually... there is one thing I need to tell you.” “Yes, what is it?” “.........I want you to listen without feeling upset...”
Her tone is serious that I straighten up my back without thinking. I grip my phone tight.
“There’s someone I want you to meet tonight. Although I believe he’s already headed your way...” “Eh...?” “Didn’t you meet someone? A man in a suit.”
The bad feeling I have continues to grow.
“That person is Chang Satsuki... I am leaving MARGINAL#4′s management to him from now on.” “Eehh?! B-But...” “I want you to understand. This is business. In order for MARGINAL#4 to shine even brighter...”
In a displeased manner, the man before my eyes ─── Chang Satsuki, pushed up his glasses.
To be continued. ➤ Chapter 2
NOTES:
1 The first day of Rejet Fes/Universe FES was on a Saturday. The date is listed as 17 here instead of 13 because if you go through the 2013 calendar, that Saturday falls on the 17th. Nonetheless, February 13th is regarded as the day of MG#4′s official debut anniversary because that was when their debut single went out on sale.
Thanks for reading!! /rolls away

Yuki’s Story Chapter 86 - Yuki’s Downfall
Tumblr media
Chapter 86 Right after the embarrassment that happened to Yuki, Team Phase exposing her panties with a bear print on the back, Yuki decides to hide by the bush. She is already wearing the school uniform. Yuki: I could not believe it! Now everyone will laugh at me. I knew Team Phase are still on to us. She sits and hides the tree surrounded by bushes. Yuki: They're leaving the game. She hears people walking out and talk. Girl1: It was hilarious! I did not know Yuki had been wearing that childish panties. Guy2: She's supposed to be tough, not childish. Wow. Girl2: She wanted to be an adult, but that's just makes me not take her seriously. Guy1: Yeah. They left and Yuki is still hiding in the bushes. Yuki: It seems like my popularity ends now. I rather put on a disguise every time I come here. She starts beating red. Yuki: I did not expect this to happen. The entire school is gonna think about it. Meanwhile, Minoru and Leon are by the front gate at school. Leon: Yuki might've ran home because she feels embarrassed about what Kaname did. Minoru: Yeah, or maybe she's hiding in the school's property. Leon: Maybe. Did Yuki contact you? Minoru: I don't see her messages. Leon: Well, I'll head home. Minoru: Okay, goodbye! Minoru goes back to the locker room building. Minoru: YUKI! YUKI! Yuki hears him. Minoru: It's just me! Yuki jumps out from the bushes and goes to Minoru. Yuki: Minoru. I can't believe they got me. Minoru: I feel sorry for you. Yuki: And now everyone is gonna think about it. I said I want to be an adult, but... It's complicated. Minoru: I understand. Yuki: I don't really know if I want to come back here on Monday. Minoru: I get you. Just go home and rest, or go to a place you have in mind. Yuki: I'll head home. Minoru: Okay. Yuki left. Minoru: Hmm... Later, Yuki came home and hears Rin's voice. Yuki: Rin's here? She goes to the living room. Rin: ...And that was the entire story. Ryo: Umm...Yuki. She just came. Yuki: Rin, what are you doing? Rin: (laughs) I'm telling him the story. (laughs) Yuki, why did you wear that? Yuki: Rin, I don't appreciate you laughing about what just happened. Ryo: Rin, I told you not to laugh. Rin: And you scream like a little girl! (LAUGHS HARD) ROFL! Rin falls off the floor, laughing. Yuki: RIN! I ask you to go home! I don't want to be laughed at right now! Rin: All right. All right. I'll go leave. Yuki: Good. Ryo: Sorry, Yuki. Yuki: (breaths) School was awesome and they liked my car, until the game after school. Rin: No one is gonna take you seriously anymore! (laughs) Yuki: I thought you're heading out. Rin: I am. Rin left the house, and Ryo talks to Yuki. Ryo: So now what? Yuki: I don't really know. Team Phase did it. Ryo: Wow. Few days later, Yuki wakes up on Monday morning, and stands up from bed. Yuki: Time to be humiliated even more. Yesterday and Saturday was peaceful. Later, she walks to school, and before she goes in the front gate, she sees a lot of people inside the school property. Yuki: I an not ready for this, but let's see. Yuki goes in the front gate and they all see her entering. A hyper voice spawned. Lila: LADIES AND GENTLEMENT, WE PRESENT YOU, YUKI KORIYAMA!! Yuki: Oh no. Lila: Yuki, we have couple of questions. Yuki: I don't feel like answering. Touko throws out papers, and it's a print of Yuki's exposure. Yuki: YOU GUYS ARE SHARING IT?! Hiroshi: It's trending in Fujiwara High, Yuki. Lila: You are going nowhere! Yuki: Just let me go inside the building. AND THROW AWAY THOSE PAPERS! Lila: Hold on. Everyone has waited for you to come. So, about Friday game, we all saw the teddy bear. Yuki: Stop thinking about it! Lila: Why did you decide to wear it since you're the tough girl, and that you just turned 18? The crowds gasped. Yuki: I...I..IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! Lila: Ohh. Not just that. You screamed like a little girl, wore childish panties, and cowardly left the game. Yuki: I HAVE A REASON TO LEAVE THE GAME! YOU EMBARRASSED ME! Lila: All we did is expose the truth you've been lying to. You said you want to be an adult and do cool adult activities, but we see that you've been childish, even you as an adult now! Yuki: I WAS TELLING THE TRUTH! Lila: Yuki, we saw the whole thing at Friday. You weren't telling the truth. Kaname: Oh. I forgot I saw you wore it a few times in the locker room. Yuki leans down to the ground. Yuki: DON'T SHARE IT OUT LOUD, YOU CREEP!!! Lila: Another one! Yuki stands up. Yuki: That doesn't mean I was lying about wanting to become an adult! Lila: No. We thought you're the tough and bravest girl in school, and that you wanted to be an adult to impress all of us. Now we start to see hidden depths about you, Yuki. Yuki: And when did everyone here decide to show up your speech now? They don't like you guys! Hiroshi: Well, the incident is a huge topic. Everyone at school loves to hear drama about everyone they know, including Friday's game! Lila: The thing is, you lied! Your girly panties showed us! Yuki goes in rage. Yuki: DANG IT! DANG IT! DANG YOU GUYS! YOU GUYS SHOULD GO TO HECK!! Everyone looked at each other. Lila: Really? Is that all you can say? Yuki: What?! I don't use profanities! So?! Lila: You're not even trying to be tough! That's why we're not taking you seriously! People around are talking, many are agreeing with them while having a little laughter. Lila: See? They know they can't take you seriously. Hiroshi: Give it up for Yuki, and her bear! Everyone is laughing at her. Lila: Hahaha! Are you wearing it now? Yuki decides not to answer. Lila: No answer? That means yes. Everyone laughs harder at Yuki. Yuki starts going to the building. Minoru feels really sad to see all of it. Minoru: They should leave her alone. I gotta follow her. Yuki sits at the back of the classroom. Yuki: I don't want to be here! I am so embarrassed. Minoru comes inside the class by Yuki. Minoru: You poor thing. Yuki: Yeah. I want to sit all the way back here for now on, so that they can't see me that much. Minoru: I see. You should tell Sensei about what they just did. Yuki: There's no point stopping it. Team Phase always plan out something and risk it. Minoru: You're right. Yuki: I am gonna have lunch by the roof top at the closet. I want you to be there, because I need your comfort. Minoru: Okay. I'll be there. Anything else? Yuki: You can find anyone here who aren't laughing at me. Minoru: All right. Later, the class started, and Yuki opened her books to cover herself, having them stand on top of the desk. Sensei: Welcome class. He sees Yuki sitting all the way back. Sensei: Yuki, can you put the books down? I don't want to mistaken you as absent. Yuki puts the books down and hears little laughers. Yuki: Here. Kaname: Remember the game? Some classmates giggle. Sensei: Stop guys! We are gonna put that whole incident awa...(laughs) He starts laughing and the class starts laughing at her. Yuki: Oh dear. Sensei: I'm sorry, Yuki. (laughs) Yuki: Look, I can't take this! I'm leaving. Yuki stands up and walks. In a few steps, she steps on a couple of marbles on the ground and falls. Everyone laughs harder at her. Yuki: This is losing my apitide. She stands up and leaves the class. The teacher is done laughing. Sensei: Haha. Umm, enough. Minoru looks a little worried. Minoru: Poor Yuki. Yuki goes to the rooftop and sits by the wall with a shadow covering her. Yuki: I don't know what else is gonna happen, but it's not looking good. She looks around. Yuki: Thankfully, no one else is around. Later, Minoru is going to the rooftop and goes to the closet door. He knocks. Yuki: It's opened. Minoru enters the room and sits with her. Yuki: Thanks for coming. Minoru: I'm worried about you. Yuki: I know. I didn't want to stay there and be laughed at and reminded about, the game. Minoru: Well, Takigawa-Sensei said you should come back after the lunch break. You're missing out a few things. Yuki: I would, but since they're all thinking about my most embarrassing moment, it's pretty hard. Minoru: Yeah. Not much was brought up after you left. The only friends who feel sorry for you are Ayano, Eru, Leon, and Lia. Yuki: Only a few, but many of them are turning out against me. Minoru: I tried to get Rin and Oka to stop laughing, but nope. Yuki: Hmm... They stayed quiet for a moment, while eating. Yuki: I assume you were in a similar situation before? Like having most people here laughing or go against you. Minoru: Just some mistreatment before we both met. Yuki: Yeah. I bet you know how it feels. Minoru: Yep. The situation may be different, so I think you get the worst of it. Yuki: It is. Something that embarrasses me as a tough and adult woman they see, and my popularity is now gone. Minoru: Yeah. Yuki: I didn't know they loosen my shorts or added a clip inside. They sneaked in my gym locker! Minoru: Wow. We knew they're always onto us. Yuki: They gotta stop acting like they give up on us. This time, they gone too far. Yuki realizes something. Yuki: Come to think of the whole thing about me lying about wanting to be an adult, I shouldn't have left the class, but I don't want to be laughed at on something... you know what. Now all of them won't take me seriously. It's humiliating. Minoru: At least I am the few who is on your side. Yuki: Only a few, but I don't know what else is gonna happen. Me performing at gym class may not be remarkable anymore, nor trying to look cool or hot to the fans. It's pretty much over! Minoru: Well, it might be true. Yuki: Yep. I won't give up on performing, but in school, I need a long break for now. Minoru looks a little worried. Later, Yuki went to her performing class. She sees two guys trying to move the buckets. Yuki: Hey guys! May I help? Boy1: Sure. Boy2: You're kidding? She lied to us. Boy1: Can you stop it? Yuki: Look. I don't want to help. Yuki walks away. Boy1: Look what you did! Boy2: Did you not hear about the incident? Later, Yuki tries performing, doing some swinging and hits the ball to the wall to reflect. Yuki looks at the people, and they either ignore her performances, or watches it without enthusiasm. Boy2: Lame. Girl1: It would be not lame if her pants gets ripped. Hahaha. Everyone laugh at her. Yuki: Now my talents are a laughing stock. The next day, she tries performing in gym class. She tried basketball and shot some hoops. Yuki looks around. Yuki: You guys want to play? Girl1: Hahahaha! You can just play on your own. Boy1: You're not tough and brave as we thought. Girl1: We can't ignore the teddy bear! A lot of people are laughing at her. Minoru sees Rin laughing. Minoru: Rin, stop. Rin: Come on. It's funny. I never thought Yuki would wear something like that. Some heard her say it and starts laughing. Yuki: Guys! Can you stop thinking about it? I wasn't lying about being an adult. Lila: Yeah. Don't forget, we saw the whole game. Yuki walks away and went to Minoru. Yuki: This is really affecting me! I can't perform or play competitions here! Minoru: People are asking me the same questions about you. Yuki: This is becoming difficult! Minoru: I know. Lia comes. Lia: Yuki. I can play a few games with you. Yuki: Thanks, but everything is occupied. No one wants me to be on their team anymore! Lia: I know. Yuki: And I also moved my locker. It's not in a gym locker room anymore because I want to change in a secret spot so no one will open my locker room again. Lia: That's smart. Yuki hears Rin laughing. Yuki: Rin, stop thinking about it! Rin: I am sorry, but I can't take you seriously. Yuki: Well, not many people wants me to be in part of their game! Rin: Hey. I wasn't the girl who screamed like a girl. Yuki: You don't get it! I was...never mind. Yuki looks at Lia. Yuki: Even my friends and fans are turning their backs against me. Lia: I tried to get Kyanna to stop laughing, but I couldn't. Minoru: Same story. They hear Lila's voice. Lila: Guys! Wanna play basketball with me?! I want to have a great competition! A lot of people are running to her. Minoru: They're now respecting Lila! Yuki: How?! Why are they doing this?! Lia: They can't do that! Yuki starts walking to her. Minoru: Yuki! Come back! Yuki talks to Lila. Lila: Hey look. Yuki's coming. Yuki comes with gasps around her. Yuki: How are you getting attention?! Lila: Because of what we did to you. I would invite you to play if we didn't see your hidden depths. Yuki: Now no one wants me on their game because you guys embarrassed me! Lila: At least I was truthful that I am already a tough adult woman, unlike you. Yuki: I wasn't lying! Lila: Hey! That thing showed us you are keeping a secret from all of us. Do you want to stay as a child? Yuki: NO! Why do you think that?!! I am tired of you making me look like I'm a woman-child. Lila: You are one! We saw everything already! Guys, do you agree? People agree with her and laughs at Yuki. Yuki: Okay! If you guys want to believe that, go ahead!! Yuki turns around and accidentally stepped on a banana and slipped. They laugh at her. Yuki: Who put that there? Kaname: Oops. (grins) The coach comes. Coach: Guys! Stop going against each other. That's no way to be a team. Behave! Yuki stands up. Coach: Are you all right? Yuki: Yeah. I'm just going away from them! Yuki walks to Minoru and Lia. Yuki: Unbelievable! They're all against me! Lia: It's so unfair! Why did they decide to like Lila all of the sudden?! Minoru: Everyone at school likes to hear rumors and drama, especially pranks. Yuki: He's right. The three went outside and talks by the bench. Yuki: Guys. Since I lost all my fans because of some prank no one should see, I have no interest of becoming a popular girl anymore! Minoru: It's sad. I don't blame you. Yuki: They ruined my reputation! I never had all of them go against me in my life. I can't perform anymore because it became a joke, and the prank made me look childish to everyone. Lia: Yeah. I think it's best if you start leaving the whole popularity thing. Yuki: I actually want to do that. I want to be a normal student like you both. Popularity is now a difficult task, especially in school. Minoru: Seems like it. Yuki: Look guys, I don't want to give up on doing athletic performances here, but they don't enjoy it anymore. Since they took my reputation away, I want to retire of being the most popular girl. No one wants any part of me anymore. She starts dropping tears. Yuki: I don't want to lose any friends. I am afraid if I lose more just because I just retire from popularity. Lia: Yuki, we both understand you. Nothing would change much. Minoru: One day, you will get your friends back. I believe it. Yuki: I hope so. She hugs both Minoru and Lia. Later, Rin is about to leave the school. She sees Minoru coming out from the school. Minoru: Rin! Rin: Yes, Minoru. Minoru stopped by her. Minoru: Look, Yuki is your friend, and she's not doing well because she lost her reputation. Rin: It's not my fault she wore that underwear. Minoru: They pranked her. Have you ever got an embarrassing moment at any school in your life? Rin: Well, I don't have one in that level. Minoru: I mean, you once accidentally farted in study hall at front of us. Rin: Oh? She thinks back when she was walking out from the study hall, and farted accidentally. Rin: Oh yeah. I can't believe you guys heard it. It was the most embarrassing thing in my life. Minoru: That's how Yuki is feeling. Rin: Well, unlike mine, she seems to have a secret on her own. Minoru: Don't you keep secrets with Retasu? Rin: I...I do, but none of them was that embarrassing. Minoru: Whether Yuki does or not, please stop laughing at her. She doesn't want to perform anymore. I feel sad for Yuki because she got pranked and that got her reputation thrown out that badly. Rin: Well...o...ok. I will stop. Minoru: Good. Rin: But, I'm thinking she has a secret. Do you think she does? Minoru: I don't know the secret you're thinking. Rin: The secret is she probably has few childish habits in her that she can't let it go. Minoru: I couldn't speculate. Everyone has their own secrets they're embarrassed of. Rin: I know, but she is the tough girl, and said she wants to be an adult. Minoru: Yeah, but Yuki isn't really lying about it. I know she acts immature at times, but they're for fun. Rin: You're right. Minoru: Look, Yuki may have a little secret or not, but don't rub it in. Rin: If you say so. Minoru: I'll go home. See you tomorrow. I hope you understand what I said. Rin: All right. Bye! They both left school. Next Chapter: Yuki's Super Secret Yuki is enjoying a new life of being a normal school kid, and started getting used to it. However, some people are still laughing at her for the prank that happened already. Yuki has some secret she doesn't want to share. What is her secret? Tune in next time!

CHAPTER 8: Pleasant★Stars ~White Day ver.~
It’s been almost a month since Universe FES, which ended with huge success. MARGINAL#4, who splendidly reenacted the legendary idols’ stage, have been spending busy yet fulfilling days ever since that day. Their interviews on TV and for magazines have considerably increased compared to before. But that doesn’t mean that they can afford to miss out on dancing and singing lessons. The boys are earnestly working with such a busy schedule. For them to be doing really well, as their Manager, I am truly filled with gratitude.
(I also need to work hard.)
I can’t allow myself to hold them back when they are working so hard. I go to confirm today’s schedule with them at once when...
“Can you stop playing around...?! Marimo or Twitter, which one do you think is superior!!” “Leaving the question of which one is superior aside, marimo are cuter.” “Stupid, Twitter is overflowing with cute images!! You know nothing!”
(...?!)
Just as I entered the agency, I could hear Atom-kun’s and Eru-kun’s voices. Moreover, they don’t sound exactly calm. It sounds like they are having some sort of argument.
(Even though they haven’t been fighting recently...!)
At the time when MARGINAL#4 was just formed, quarrels in which they would raise their voices were not uncommon; however, such quarrels had become practically non-existent recently.
“What’s the matter, you two?!” “...It’s nothing.”
The moment I entered the room, the both of them awkwardly averted their gazes.
(...?)
This is strange. Usually, the two of them would try to get me to side with them by insisting just how right they are and how wrong the other person is. But this time, upon my entering the room, they stopped fighting. Even Atom-kun has sunk into silence, his mouth turned down at the corners.
“It is nothing. Please do not worry about it.” “Mhm, it’s nothing to be worried about.”
Rui-kun and Aru-kun, who were watching the bickering pair from a distance, also tried to reassure me that the fight was nothing.
“...Is everything okay?” “Like I said, it’s nothing. Everything’s okay!” “Yep yep, Atom-kun and I are getting along just fine!”
Atom-kun and Eru-kun wrap an arm around each other’s shoulders while smiling. Atom-kun’s expression is somewhat stiff though.
“A-Anyway, let’s go over today’s schedule!” “R-Right...”
I get the feeling that something is definitely wrong... But I was unable to say anything else. With Aru-kun urging me like that, we got right into confirmation of the schedule.
☆★☆
I took the four to the studio for their magazine interviews afterwards. While they are doing their interviews, I leave the hallway to go and prepare drinks when...
(...Eyes?)
Getting the feeling that I’m being watched, I swiftly turn around.
“...!” “...Aru-kun?”
Aru-kun, who should be doing the interview at the studio, withdrew his face into hiding in panic.
“What’s wrong? Was there some sort of problem?” “E-Err, um, well... I-It’s nothing...!!”
Saying only that, Aru-kun ran away.
“...?”
The shy and reserved Aru-kun is usually nervous, but this is the first since our first meeting that he’s behaving in a suspicious manner towards me.
(And here I had thought he’d opened up to me...)
It looks like I still need to put in more effort in order to understand him.
☆★☆
This time, I took the four to the studio for their dance lessons.
“I’ll come to pick you up when your practice is over.” “Um, Manager.”
I was about to return to the agency for a bit when Rui-kun calls me to stop.
“What’s up?” “Once dance lessons end, there isn’t anything else in our schedule afterwards for today, is there?” “Nope, after today’s dance lessons, that’s it. I believe the four of you are off at around evening.” “Then may I have a little bit of your time afterwards? There is something I wish to talk to you about.” “Something you want to talk to me about?”
Rui-kun’s expression is serious. It must be something important.
“Yeah, sure. I’ll make some time then.” “Thank you very mu...” “Oi, Rui.” “Rui-kuuun, won’t you have a little chat with me?”
Atom-kun and Eru-kun interrupted before Rui-kun, who had a relieved expression, could finish speaking. To show his protest, Aru-kun is also clutching tightly onto the hem of Rui-kun’s clothes in silence.
“...Haah. Very well. I apologise, but please pretend that promise just now did not happen.” “Eh?”
Rui-kun apologetically bowed his head and entered the studio with the other three.
(D-Did they just hush him...?)
What on earth is going on?
☆★☆
The four were definitely acting weird after that as well. Atom-kun and Eru-kun were arguing loudly but then fell into silence when I appeared. Aru-kun, who was blushing for some reason, watched me while hiding. And Rui-kun repeatedly looked like he wanted to say something before sighing and giving up. After I dropped them off at the studio for their dance lessons, I decided to consult with Director about it at the agency.
“...And with that, the four of them are acting strange. But when I asked them about it, the four of them refused to tell me...” “I wonder what is going on.”
From the way Director is also tilting her head to the side, it seems like she has no answer either.
“...Haah.” “For even you to be sighing, whatever is the matter?” “No, it’s just... I feel a little sad that they won’t tell me anything. I understand that that doesn’t mean that they can’t trust me but...” “...Right. I believe those children fully trust you. Surely, they aren’t saying anything to you because they believe they can solve what is happening this time between themselves.” “You may be right.” “That’s right, you should just maintain calm, and support them in times of need.” “Yes!”
(She’s right, I need to be steadfast for when the time calls for it.)
Thanks to Director, I feel a lot better. Firing myself up, I go to pick up the boys.
☆★☆
I go to pick them up from their dance lessons a little earlier than I usually do. After all, the four are always happy to have an audience even if it’s just me. So when I quietly open the door to the floor and enter today just like any other day...
“...?!”
The scene that unfolded before my eyes stopped my breathing. The reason for that is because the four are in a scuffle.
“Hold it, what do you four think you’re doing?!”
Thinking that I have to stop them no matter what it takes, I try to step in and break them apart.
“Owah?!” “Woah...!” “W-Wah, it’s dangerous to just jump in without warning!” “Do you want to join in as well?”
I stopped moving the exact moment I heard their nonchalant voices.
“You... weren’t fighting?” “No! We were refining a rough idea for our new choreo!” “It was Atom-kun who suggested it.” “Atom-kun was saying that he wants a showy action component to the choreography this time.” “I think a fighting motion from online games would’ve been good though.” “Oh what the heck... You startled me there...”
I feel relieved, and the strength leaves my body at the same time. I had become quite flustered, thinking that an unthinkable crack had entered their relationship.
“Sorry, we didn’t mean to worry you that much.” “You worry too much. Why would we get into a fist fight now after all this time?” “That’s true but... Everyone was acting strange ever since this morning so I thought something happened.” “...Ah.” “About that...”
Each of the four awkwardly exchange glances.
“Causing Manager to worry defeats the purpose.” “...Pretty much.” “That’s true.” “Yeah.”
Starting with Rui-kun’s words, each of the four let out a small sigh and turned to face me.
“You, know what day it is today?” “What day...? Um, was there a problem with the schedule?” “No! It’s March 14! It’s obviously White Day!” “...Ah.”
Only does Atom-kun mention it do I realise that. I had completely forgotten about the actual day itself, partly because the shoots for their feature articles on White Day for magazines and TV ended quite a while back.
“Even when you were super busy with FES preparations, you didn’t forget about Valentine’s Day, right.” “I was very happy about the chocolates.” “Me too. That was why we wanted to thank you...” “Which was why we were arguing over who would be the one to invite you.” “So that was why Atom-kun and Eru-kun were fighting?” “Yeah.” “The conversation took a completely different turn midway through though, and it turned into an argument over something completely irrelevant.”
For some reason, Atom-kun is puffing out his chest with pride, while Eru-kun shrugs his shoulder in an unapologetic manner.
“And that was why Aru-kun was watching me from hiding?” “Um... I was going to invite you, but when the moment arrived, I felt embarrassed and couldn’t say it.”
Fidgeting, Aru-kun dropped his gaze with blushed cheeks.
“And Rui-kun’s important matter?” “I thought that inviting you openly would be the most appropriate idea, but the three forestalled me so I gave up.”
Rui-kun explained to me in a way that was easy to understand while sighing.
“...And that’s that.”
I heaved a sigh of relief, knowing that there wasn’t any problem between the four. Atom-kun faces my way and opens his mouth to speak once more.
“We knew we had the whole day to compete with each other, but not one of us wanted to let the other steal a march on them.” “But by doing so, no one will be able to thank you for Valentine’s.” “So it can’t be helped, but we’ve decided to join forces.” “...Eh?” “In saying that, won’t you go and have dinner with us?!” “With you four?” “Yeah, with us four.” “Did you already have plans?” “You’re not going to turn us down, are you?” “Is that a no...?”
The four of them stare at me and wait for my reply.
(I already know my answer.)
“Of course I’d love to!” “Alright!” “Leave the reservations to me.” “Is there anything you want to eat?” “A place that has a White Day-themed full-course meal would be good, I think.”
The four are happily getting hyped up about it. And as if suddenly remembering something, Aru-kun looked back at me.
“Um... We also feel that we need to do something for our fans who are always supporting us, but is that not allowed, I wonder?” “Ah, now that you mention it...”
From Aru-kun’s words, I recall the fans who have still been supporting them from before MARGINAL#4′s success at the FES. There were quite a large number of girls who sent in chocolates to the agency.
“Our Valentine’s messages along with our words of gratitude were also published in the magazine but...” “We also wanna do something special on actual White Day.” “If we’re talking about something we can do right now, then I guess a blog post? Hey, Manager, are we allowed to take a picture?” “Picture?” “One to go with a message.” “If we do that, it’ll feel special!”
(If it’s that much...)
If it’s uploading their photo onto the blog, I can give them permission.
“It’s fine. So what photo are you going for?” “Isn’t it fine like this? It gives off the feeling that MG#4 is working hard today like always to meet all of the fans again.” “We look kinda messy now that it’s after practice, but it’s probably fine since that kind of thing is also much like the real us, huh.” “Ah, I got a new model recently! Let’s take it with this!” “I’ll take the photo for us! I’m super good at taking selfies!” “‘Good at taking selfies,’ you say... Somehow, that is a little sad.” “Looks like Atom-kun has no friends, pupu.” “What was that?!” “Okay, okay, how about I take it for you?” “Thanks! But since this is a ‘gift’, I think it’s best that we take it ourselves!” “I see! As expected of Atom-kun!” “Alright, here I go! 3. 2. 1.”
*click*
Each of them giving me something in return of course makes me happy. But what makes me even happier is seeing them happily getting excited like this. Four people have overcome many difficulties and are united together as MARGINAL#4. And those four care about their fans, who are supporting them, as well as me in ways such as this.
(Thank you, Atom-kun, Rui-kun, Eru-kun, Aru-kun.)
As I gazed once more at the four, I strengthened my resolve to keep on giving it my all together with the members of MARGINAL#4.
