LoZ - Gerudo Nomenclature
I'm gonna put this here so that anyone who wants to help can comment or reblog what they think each name means.
If there are any other Gerudo names you know of, I'm all ears.
---
Plot Relevant Gerudo:
Ganondorf = Warlock-Sorcerer. A Hyrulean transliteration of Gánōendōrfè; from Gánōen meaning "black magics" & Dōrfè meaning "sorcerer." - Both Gánōen & Gánōn are technically correct, however Gánōen is considered proper grammar & is thus more formal when it's used as a word rather than a name.
- Dragmire = Noble dragon general. A Hyrulean transliteration of Drāgamīr; from the words Drāga being an old Gerudan word meaning "dragon lord" or "noble dragon" & Mīr meaning "general." When put together, it translates to "draconian leader."
Kōme = In Japanese, this means "small plum." However, it's possible that her father was a Sheikah. If so, then this name wouldn't be Gerudo in origin.
Kotake = In Japanese, this means "little bamboo." However, it's possible that her father was a Sheikah. If so, then this name wouldn't be Gerudo in origin.
Nàbooru =

Gerudo Names I Made Up:
Female:
Geladïna = The full name of the Gerudo Goddess of the Sand. Means "one who dances passionately upon the sand."
Sāqmàla = Name of the Gerudo Goddess of Life, Vivifatility, & Sex, & mother of Geladïna & Amàhrta. Translates to "one who lives without regrets."
Amàhrta = Name of the Gerudo Goddess of the Moon, Mirrors, Dreams, Prophecy, & Visions. Means "virtuous moon."
Kàvtrïna = Name of the Gerudo Goddess of Love, Passion, & Marriage. A sort of carry over from Hyrule as she was originally a Hyrulean goddess. Loosely translates to "bond of passion."
Tïsàla = Joyous.
Nīra = Amrit or nectar or pure water or liquor.
Sàvàrï = Circle of goodness. The name I've given to the ancient Sage of Lightning from TotK.
Male:
Jawàrik = The name of the Gerudo god of war, conquest, & strife. Ex-husband to the Goddess of the Sand. A name meaning "a strong, powerful warrior."
Gàlondo = Gerudo god of war, power, conquest, fire, lightning, pride, destruction, bloodlust, & the burning desert sun. The only begotten son of Geladïna & Jawàrik. Means "one prepared to battle in the sands."
Amïn = Safe. Translates to reliable, secure, faithful, loyal, straightforward, & honest.
Asïm = Protector; also an old name from before the all-female curse.
Jubàr = One who mends.
Hànrysé = Clever or proficient. The name of a prominent figure in the Gerudo myth called "King Hànrysé's Folly." In which, he was a Gerudo king from before the Division War that ended in the female-only curse. Due to his portrayal in the story, the name has now become associated with foolishness or arrogance.
---
I'm sure that there are some names here that aren't of Gerudo origin such as Rhondson & Mattison likely are.

going from the hylink depictions in fandom and all the zelda games where link dedicates his life to saving and serving her to the skyward sword prequel manga is wild because you meet the first link, and he's just like. idgaf about hylia (the goddess). you gods are just as pathetic and powerless as we humans whom you supposedly reign above. why are you coming to me to fix your problems. why do we even keep you around. i don't want your stupid sword. the bird is cool, though.

ALSO does no one find it even a little weird how the old Zelda games firmly state that it's Hylia who built/was the first ruler of Hyrule (the king is just. sort of there), and then totk comes in and is like ahaaa no it's actually rauru who's so special and godlike actually. yeah, his wife was actually his priestess who once served him and then died stupidly because she wasn't paying attention. mmhm, she was also the reason ganon was able to take over hyrule and be super duper evil btw. uwu.

Epona's name being an auto-input with the amiibo is actually so funny and sweet because it implies that, while Link may not remember Zelda or any of the other Champions, he remembers he had a horse, and her name was Epona.

Link
Chapters: 5/? Fandom: The Legend of Zelda & Related Fandoms, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Mipha/Revali (Legend of Zelda), Link/Mipha (Legend of Zelda), Implied Link/Zelda (Legend of Zelda) - Relationship Additional Tags: Complicated Relationships, Implied Relationships, Love Triangles, Pre-Relationship, Post-Calamity Ganon, Unrequited Love, Rebuilding, Alive Champions (Legend of Zelda), Well. Summary:
The sky and sea had lain in perfect reflection of one another since the dawn of days, waves tinted by the sun’s grace and wind sweeping like the ocean’s pathways; it was only natural that they should find themselves so in the Goddess’s chosen ones.
 They were locked in eternal symmetry, she and he, paralleled in their orbits yet never colliding.
 ⚘⚘⚘
In which Revali and Mipha find each other in death the way they never did life.

how is everyone so normal about loz ii the adventure of link. wdym it had two zeldas, one of whom had a brother who accidentally got her cursed into an eternal sleep which he physically tried to stop and then felt so guilty about that he ensured she would be protected for generations and that every single princess after would be named after her in hopes that she would someday be saved. what.

this was too mean to put on anyone else's post, but it's actually vile how totk has some of the most beautiful imagery in all of video games. truly showing that sometimes, you can make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
