• When she was 15, she asked her parents if there was any way for her to get ice magic because as the future queen of Arendelle, she needed to be able to assure her people she could protect them. Eira took her to the trolls and they granted her wish. She quickly picked up on how to control it and can use it expertly.

Eira looked up at him with a small smile. "Is it that obvious I'm not having a good day?" she asked, chuckling dryly. She brushed some hair behind her ear and nodded. "You know I can't refuse hot chocolate."

Eira laid in her pillow fort, snuggling a stuffed tiger Aziz had given her when they were kids. It had small barren patches from being petted so often. It had grown to be one of her favorite stuffed toys. She felt safer when she had it, like she had a piece of Aziz with her.

But it didn't protect her from fear.

Sure, she didn't feel guilty about November. But she was still afraid sometimes. Afraid of herself. Afraid of what she was capable of. She'd shown that she had the capacity to kill. Just once was enough to spark something horrible in her, and she was afraid that it had and she just didn't notice.

The door to her dorm opened. She assumed it was her roommate, but when the blankets at the front of her fort parted, she was proven wrong.

The enchanted lake. A place Eira had heard quite a few things about. The princess had only seen the lake in passing during a walk through the woods, but seeing it up close was... Well, enchanting.

She closed her eyes and stretched, humming to herself as she waited for her partner in treason. Whatever was bubbling up inside her was not what she wanted... not what she wanted at all... But she could stifle it. She could kill it.

Eira didn't turn when she heard footsteps behind her, simply starting her yoga routine. "Hello there, my prince."

Eira fixed her costume one more time. She was going as a mermaid, which was not an easy costume to move around in. She had a silicone tail with a hole for her feet so she could walk, and a top she'd had made from a fishnet and some fabric.

She smiled at the mirror. "This is going to be great. You aren't going to freak out about feelings. You aren't going to let your feelings get in the way of your judgment. You are going to have fun with your best friend, and that's all that's going to happen."

She straightened her back and went to the door. She opened it, then giggled. "I seem to have found my jolly sailor bold."

Flashback-Silence

The atmosphere was disheartening to say the least. It had the tendency to be that way when the beloved king of a country and the father of two kids past away in a storm at sea.

Aziz walked into the ballroom, having been one of the few close friends invited to the ball given in Bjorn’s  honour. He felt devastated only thinking about what Eira must have been going through. Eira, the closest person to him, who’s always managed to make him smile. Stricken by grief.

He spotted the princess across the room and walked up to her, though he had no idea what to say. For the first time in a while.

“Hey,” he smiled shyly. And then an awkward silence fell, but he had no idea what to say next. So the desert prince hugged the snow princess, hoping it’d be a good start. Warm hugs usually were.

“You can cry now.”

Solo Para-His Favorite Person

Aziz liked Valentine’s Day. It wasn’t his favorite holiday but it was an excuse to relax, eat chocolate and have slumber parties with Eira. Not like he needed an excuse, but still. Everyone did it so why not join?

This was their first year as a couple. Naturally, he’d prepared a gift-a bouquet of roses and chocolate-but as he was walking to her door to give it to her, he got nervous. It wasn’t just the importance of the day to their relationship.

There was another voice in the back of his head saying that it wasn’t the right time for these kinds of things. The princess was recovering from a traumatic event and what if she took it as a sign that he didn’t want to give her time?

But then Eira had always loved this holiday. It put a smile on her lips that he liked seeing. They’ve been through a lot in the years spent together and the  times may have changed, but their love didn’t.. She was still his favorite person in the world and that comes from a guy who’s seen it on a magic carpet.

Yes, this was the right choice. He took a deep breath in and knocked on her door.
