IT KlLLS ME seeing how katniss was so excited and nervous and dizzy at the thought of finally seeing peeta after over six weeks, that she’d assumed that they would kiss again and wondered if it’d feel like their kisses in the beach, when she’d felt something. that she even felt disappointed when she found out her face wasn’t the first one he saw when he woke up, she thought he was looking at her with both the desperation and desire of a lover when she got close, she thought he was gonna caress her face and she would get to embrace him. she was out there literally expecting (not even hoping for) a romantic reunion worthy of any romance novel and all she got out of that was a neck collar because hijacked peeta strangled her.

Haymitch finally joins us, contributing twenty-three years of tributes he was forced to mentor.
-Mockingjay (that part in the end where they make a book in remembrance of the dead)
Can we please talk about this? This is just soo sad. Throughout the books, Haymitch couldn't be bothered to mentor those kids because of watching them die year after year, and even having to choose which one he'd try and bring back, and which one he'd have to let die. We assume that he hasn't been able to help the kids because of the resultant alcoholism. He did remember them though. Every single one of them. He remembered enough of them to be able to have a picture drawn by Peeta, and to perhaps even have something written about them. He wasn't ignorant, he was just too helpless. He regretted not getting them back, probably even blamed it on himself. All of this while coping with his own trauma from the games and immediately having his family and girlfriend murdered because of his trick.
Haymitch Abernathy is one of the most tragic, yet strongest character in the series and this has to be acknowledged more often.

pure as the driven snow is such a cunty song cause imo lucygray did not in fact need, love or trust snow and the whole song is a way for her to kinda assure the readers that she will be completely fine on her own.

spoilers for tbosas ahead
the thing that makes me so sick about songbirds and snakes is that throughout the hunger games portion of the book snow is just riddled with this jealousy and fear that sejanus is going to usurp him and take his place like some kind of imposter when in reality sejanus has no intent to do anything of the sort he is literally just trying to survive and navigate his newfound batshit circumstances in which he finds himself surrounded by some evil ass people
and then in the end it’s snow that ends up sliding neatly into the gap that sejanus’s death left. snow is the one who basically became the plinth’s foster son (for lack of a better term) even after he was indirectly (or, let’s be real, definitely directly) responsible for sejanus being hanged in the first place. and i don’t think he even planned for things to happen that way, but when the opportunity arose he just didn’t even see anything ironic or wrong or fucked up about that. he was just like “neato” and became a dictator

I was just rewatching Mockingjay Part 1 (I usually only rewatch THG and CF) and I was thinking about how I was 13 when this film came out and I had no understanding of what Finnick meant about being sold. It just makes me think how influential this book/film series was in my life as a tween/young teenager and how as an adult, there are so many more things I'm beginning to notice and understand that I didn't before because I was so young.

I can’t believe TBOSAS made me fall in love with Coriolanus Snow only for the movie to end with him beginning to become the irredeemable dickhead he becomes in the Hunger Games movies.
Truly an experience. I went from wanting him to be better to longing for his downfall (which he gets) the book and movie are so good!

if sejanus plinth has a hundred fans, i’m one of them. if he has ten fans, i’m one of them. if he has one fan, it’s me. if he has none, i am dead.

i dont really get how some people can thirst over snow, like tom blyth was hand sculpted by the gods themselves but SNOW!?!? he was so evil from the get go, he hated the people from the districts like he was such an elitist and not to mention he went on to traffick and sell literal children. tbosas made my hatered for snow even stronger and i never thought that could ever happen.

As a European living in a country where we rarely get much snow, I am currently experiencing my first actual snow day. We still have school because its 2024 and thus its online, however, I am stuck out here in my small ocean side town. The bus drives but all the trains have been stopped due to the snow fall. Its so weird.
