finished Harrow the Ninth. Gideon is still the only thing I care about whatsoever (I do love Harrow, but it's different, Gideon makes me want to explode). Spent the whole book just waiting for her to be back (ya ya part of it was her pov watching Harrow but it wasn't Her her ya know) and she finally came back and I almost cried. Genuinely, she is EVERYTHING to me

anyways after we watched it, we were talking about cecile and how we LOVE her but she has been criminally underutilised and honestly her powers kinda suck. she’s kinda been relegated to the team therapist who reads people’s minds for plot reasons and senses the team’s emotions so that we can have a heart to heart. then in fight scenes she’ll occasionally gasp “I CAN FEEL THEIR PAIN, I CAN FEEL THEIR FEAR” and that’s. kind of as far as they’ve taken her abilities. i get that emotion-based powers are hard to show in a visual format but they could do SOMETHING with her other than having her just look afraid and go “I CAN FEEL YOUR FEAR. I CAN FEEL HOW SCARED YOU ARE.” like no fucking shit cecile. everything’s on fire and we’re all about to die. tell us something we don’t know

so yeah we had this fairly involved conversation about how they really dropped the ball by not having cecile do more, expanding her abilities, maybe doing some visual special effects and translating her powers into something more interesting and THEN A FEW EPS LATER THEY DID THIS SHIT
