Double Grave Marker carved by Peter Buckland of Manchester dated 1773.
Here we have a double stone of Bolton Schist for Joseph Phelps and his wife Susanah Emans dated 1773 carved by Peter Buckland of Manchester Connecticut.  Peter Buckland carved on a number of different stones including grey granite schist from the Bartlett quarry in Bolton as seen here, as well as brownstone from different quarries on the Connecticut river. Both Peter and his brother William Buckland apprenticed early on under prolific gravestone carver Gershom Bartlett, and would remain influenced by his work, as you can see from the same vine borders used here and elements in the face.  This stone also shows flared curled lobed wings, somewhat like that used by Windsor carver Joseph Johnson. Bucklands style would influence other stonecutters especially among the Ritter family of East Hartford. Peter Bucklands work was popular in such towns as East Hartford, Glastonbury, Wethersfield, Tolland, South Windsor and of course his hometown of Manchester.  This marker is located in the Old Hebron Cemetery on Wall Street in Hebron Connecticut.

Owl House Finale
Holy shit, I wish I could cry. It was...beautiful. The contrasting colors from start to end, the action and writing were great for the reunions. The Ending, with Demon Luz? FUCK. YEAH. The Smooth animation is back for one last hurrah, and it was AWESOME. Seeing Belos burn was something beautiful and cathartic. And we got full lip kisses for both Lumity and Willow's dads!
There are hints of Alador/Darius, Huntlow is strong, with Willow being a Flyer Derby Player and Hunter being a Palisman carver, and they made a small gravestone for Flapjack. The love is real, y'all!
We got a major time skip, and it's beautiful!! Luz is studying wild magic for her (every) college major, Eda is the headmaster of the Wild Magic academy (complete with a hook hand), Gus teaches about Humans, and Lilith helped rebuild the library, with a Harpy form! Amity looked both beautiful and kickass with her adult design.
Surprisingly, the biggest issue in pacing was really only for about the first 20 or so minutes. Once Belos started infecting the Isles (Looking deadass like Halo's Flood), the pace was nicely handled.
Oh yeah, I forgot! Raine has a cute little fox Palisman, and Hunter made a bluejay one!
Luz met the Titan in the Between Realm (where her Demon form came from), and while she lost it for a time, King has his own glyph language that's emerging! She'll be able to do it again someday!
Seriously, Luz's Demon Form and the final fight were BAD. ASS.
Seriously, what a finale. The colors, pacing, writing were all great (and they even believably redeemed The Collector!). Yeah the beginning was a bit quick, but other than that it was awesome.
Overall, 9.5/10. I love The Owl House so, so much, and the heart Dana and her crew showed here proved exactly why. I wish I could cry, cause goddamn. Thank you, @danaterrace, Alex Hirsch and crew, for everything. What started as a time killer quickly became a valued treasure, greater than any gold I’ve seen, and it’s been both a pleasure, and an honor to see the show grow as it did.
Whatever the future holds, we’ll keep the Titan’s heart beating, and the Boiling Isles will always be home. Onward to new adventures!!

Yapp'n about Morty in autumn
Random Pokemon Morty headcanons
Morty x gn!S/o
S/o coming back from work to see that there goes type gym leader boyfriend decked their entire house in skeletons fake gravestones Ghost Pokemon decor. Morty is very normal about Halloween
Morty going all out and his monster costumes.
With him being the Ghost type gym leader versus his practical worship of Halloween y'all's house becomes the coolest house in the neighborhood for trick or treaters.
An exchange for extra scares of course he gives out the best treats!
Around the holidays your house gets real cozy with the smell I've scented candles and a warm home. If you're still cold tell him I'm sure he'll have something to have you bundle up with as he makes you a cup of coffee or hot chocolate with either a stick of cinnamon or extra cream depends on what you like.
Tumblr media
Morty probably having a vampire phase in Middle School, Still has a soft spot for vampires he doesn't care glitter ones, monstrous ones, or vampiric animals.
Morty lives for the fall the cool weather the pumpkin desserts and Drinks, Snuggling in light coats and scarves, hearing the leaves crunch beneath his shoes
Expert pumpkin carver, he takes all day for just one pumpkin however he takes his time in his masterpiece making sure it's exactly what he wants.
Tumblr media
Morty has always been a fan for horror, however nearing Halloween he always starts watching classics or anything currently coming out, he always asks for you to join him and if you're still scared of horror movies he always offers himself for you to cuddle up to. Can't help but think how cute you are as you grasp at his clothing closing your eyes or hiding yourself with the blanket. Occasionally squeezing you closer to him or rubbing your arm or shoulder or giving you a light kiss on the head to make you feel better, Maybe every now and then pausing to ask if you're okay.
Tumblr media
When Dawn breaks, kissing you on your sleepy forehead before rising at his usual early hour, Morty sighs just like last year. He was sad to see it go, but he still had fun. Of course, just because the holiday is over, that doesn't mean he can't still enjoy the rest of his favorite season, leaving some of his decorations in the house a little longer before preparing for Christmas.
He'll enjoy the rest of the holidays, all the while counting down the days till the next one~.

day 6 of @hellcheerweek || paranormal || ghost!chrissy
Eddie Munson is a lonely songwriter, restless and unhappy with his solitary life in Chicago. When he is contacted by a lawyer informing him he has inherited a house in rural Indiana from a distant Munson cousin, he decides to give it a few months and see what happens.
He doesn’t know that over a century ago, a young woman was murdered by her vengeful jealous husband in a house that used to stand on that very same land, before it was left to rot and then built anew in the 1970s. Angry and vengeful from years wandering the land alone, Chrissy decides the man who has taken over the land that has been her only home through these endless years must suffer, just like those who came before him.
His first night, he hears strange noises–creaking and moaning all around him. The morning light allows him to shake it off, dismiss it as his imagination. But it continues for several nights, until he awakes with bruises scattered over his body. In the early dawn light, he studies the marks and hears soft crying nearby.
She has realized her mistake. This man is kind, soft at his core. Why did she do this to him? Now he’ll leave and she’ll be all alone again.
Eddie knows he should be terrified. He should pack up and leave. There is clearly something wrong in this house. There is someone lingering in his house. But a voice in his head tells him to stay. That this is exactly where he needs to be.
That it is home.
He decides to look into the history of the land. In doing so, he discovers the story of Christine Carver, née Cunningham, a young bride who disappeared from an estate that once stood exactly where he now resides. He brings home a photo of her, keeping it on him at all times. Sometimes he finds himself stroking it absentmindedly, wondering about her.
He doesn’t wake to injuries again, though he begins dreaming of her. Every night, more details come to him. This beautiful golden-haired woman, scared and cowering, running down sumptuously decorated hallways. A sharp raised voice following her out into a dark rainy night. Bare feet slipping in mud, a white dress streaked with blood and dirt. Fingers wrapped around a delicate neck, squeezing.
When he wakes in the mornings, he always feels a presence with him. He comes to understand she’s here, showing him her tragedy.
He begins talking to her. While he makes his coffee in the morning, while working out the perfect chord progression, while taking a cigarette break. He even asks her questions, about her life, the period when she lived, her interests. All Chrissy ever succeeds in providing as a response is a quiet echoing giggle here and there, or a soft brush along the back of his hand. It startles him the first time, but he soon smiles when he feels her. Even closes his eyes, as if to prolong the moment and feel it ever more intensely.
In the mornings, when she tries to put her wisp of an arm around his shaking body after he has awoken from another dream she’s given him, he apologizes to her through tears, tells her she deserved to be treasured and cared for and loved fiercely in life instead of what she got.
Chrissy thinks she might love him.
It only takes a short time for him to find the place in the nearby woods where her husband buried her. He digs up her body himself, and knowing there is no hard evidence of what Jason Carver did all those years ago and no one would believe him, he chooses to give her a proper burial. Eddie plants a garden by the gravestone, along with a seating area that becomes his favorite place to write.
The day he finishes the memorial to Christine Elizabeth Cunningham, he feels her presence leave and he cries.
Weeks later, Eddie finds he's not surprised when he awakens to find Chrissy standing at the end of his bed, ethereal and glowing and gazing at him.
He places a palm over her heart to feel it beat. When she covers it with her warm delicate hand, her grey eyes sparkle in the light of the sunrise outside their bedroom window and he feels at peace.

Buying costumes for each other without knowing what the other chose and wearing them to a party | “You mixed the skittles and m&m’s as a prank?” “horrifying, right?” | Painting pumpkins together since they both can’t be bothered with the mess and time that comes with carving them
Buying costumes for each other without knowing what the other chose and wearing them to a party:
UGH i love this one bryce would def get him a pirate costume and jensens like uh wheres the shirt part?? and bryce just answers with huh must not be included, guess you'll have to go without one 😁. bryce is so happy he did it but is also completely distracted the entire party lbr (especially with the nipple piercings??? like there's no way he wasn't looking At Least every 3 minutes). unfortunately other people also notice how good jensen looks in the costume so bryce has to glare at a few people but its mostly to his benefit (jensen does end up putting a shirt on but he leaves it unbuttoned as a compromise cause lbr it's cold as shit)
jensen 100% gets him one of those fuzzy onsies that look like mothman. yes there were other options that were much more accessible (dinosaur, monsters, unicorns, etc) but he was Set on that mothman one. the entire night he can't stop laughing at bryce any time they're talking, especially when he puts the hood up with the stupid little eyes and ears. they had very different definitions of entertainment through the costumes and it works for both of them
~~
“You mixed the skittles and m&m’s as a prank?” “horrifying, right?”:
jensen was absolutely the one who mixed them together. bryce was mortified. if was def at a party that the roomies put together and bryce is the only one that knew, so throughout the night he'd hear random gags and general noises of disgust and jensen looked so proud of himself every time. jackie finally got to them and immediately went to find jensen, but bryce ran some interference to cover for him :)
~~~
Painting pumpkins together since they both can’t be bothered with the mess and time that comes with carving them:
okay okay personal hc bryce is The Best pumpkin carver (he could do it professionally if he cared enough i just know it). they def dont have time for all that though so painting makes more sense. anyway moving on
bryce would probs just paint like a classic jack o' lantern pattern and all the lines would be super clean and precise, and jensen is sitting across the table just throwing globs of colorful paint on until inspiration strikes. he ends up with something looking like an abstract pumpkin patch and forest. bryce just has to pretend he knows what it is for the most part until jensen explains it. they put them out on the bench on their porch with the other spooky decorations. (when they decorate their place later on they do a lot but not like the halloween specific decorations yk? like they do gravestones and jensen has a lot of fake skulls and tarot stuff that looks spooky so he gets all that out)
CEMETERY : for one muse to find the other at a gravestone.
Tumblr media
it’s late, and jason knows that he shouldn’t be here, but it feels like the only time where he can go to the cemetery without the eyes of the whole town on him. rich boy with dead parents and a big house. jason carver-takahashi new town pariah with the way everything ended with eddie munson. jason carver-takahashi alone. he doesn’t visit his family. they had a plot made when jason’s grandfather died, and all the carver-takahashi’s would be buried there in their due time. the last one would be jason. sometimes he sees if anyone has left flowers for his family but there’s never any. and jason isn’t about to go out of his way to do it for himself. but he will for calvin, for patrick, and for cindy. they were his friends. they were his family. more than the one that he had grown up in. but he finds himself visiting calvin’s grave more often than he’d care to admit.
calvin was too young. jason misses calvin and he thinks of who he could have been if he didn’t die so young. he brings a bottle of vodka with him every time. imagines that they could have shot the shit together on jason’s back porch because it was always his favourite time during the summers, with all the people he loved at his house enjoying themselves. jason had lost a lot of friends over the course of a year and he knew why and quite frankly, he couldn’t blame them. the jason a year ago would have been ashamed of the jason now. and all it took was the constant string of deaths that he had to face, too many funerals for one to go through before they hit thirty. it wasn’t fucking normal, but it was his life. calvin would always hit the hardest because he was the youngest with so much life left to live.
“school is starting back soon.” he starts to say, “and i’m not going to lie i’m sort of excited for it. being a p.e teacher and basketball coach is a little daunting but i think i found my purpose, you know?” he says to the grave, as if it’d answer back. he tilts the bottle back, taking another swig of the drink.
“i miss you buddy.” he feels the tightness in his throat again, the one that never really goes away.
he hears footsteps, and when he turns his head he shouldn’t be surprised to see chrissy. the two so attuned with the other. his breath gets caught in his throat. jason has been caught with the only other person that would understand. he almost feels embarrassed, being here. like he shouldn’t be. they had been broken up for a year now, and he misses her everyday but knows why they ended things. jason carver-takahashi was not the same person a year ago, and he doesn’t know if his relationship with chrissy would ever be the same but jason had made his bed and now he had to lie in it.
“i visit him sometimes,” he says, as if to defend why he was here. while calvin was chrissy’s brother, it was one of the people that jason had loved most in the world. it dated back to all the times that jason had to teach calvin something knew because their father refused to. he thinks back to when calvin was first learning how to ride a bike and jason had showed him because it was every kid’s right to learn how to.
“i can leave if you want me too.” he says quickly after. he puts the cap back on the alcohol and gets up.
“i just miss him. that’s all.”
 there’s nothing more to say than that.
so sorry if this has already been answered before!! i got a bit behind on ur lore. BUT what do jules n harper wanna do when they grow up? like for work? sandys got her plans to be an all-star, do the other girls have their goals figured out?
heyo!!!! and yeah!!! lemme tell!!
Jules wants to be a scientist! she still hasn't got her type (chemist, physicist, etc) figured out, but so far she's fine as a gadget scientist, like the card from pvzh. she loves to make gadgets in her free time and she got a kick to do it
harper's case is like, a tough nut to crack. she tried everything, but nothing seemed to fit her. But! since the other girls noticed her art talent and the sole fact she's your typical 2000s edgy art kid, they thought she'd fit as... gravestone carver. and oh boy she's SO GOOD at it, it's literally her hobby. though! she takes MAGIC practices from immorticia, who's her parents' good old friend! she loves her like a ton she's like a mom to her
and betty wants to be a drummer! she's getting practices from disco zombies who also treat her with the knowledge of deadly shocking dancing moves that can kick some grass. she babysits the z-mech imps and that's her part-job lmao
the girls got one shared dream tho!! START A BAND!!! they'd play like, 90s-grunge/early 2000s rock and that's just their dream to play in indie clubs and just spend their days like that.
Granite Schist Tombstone carved by John Walden Jr. of Windham dated 1814
Here is a fine signed urn and willow stone by John Walden Jr. of Windham (Now Scotland) Connecticut.  This marker features urn branches draped over a willow, this style of gravestone imagery became very popular during the neoclassical era, becoming prominent during the 1790′s and 1800′s,  almost completely replacing the old religious designs of winged cherubs and souls by 1820.  This stone features a thin lined border with fanned curtains on the bottom.  John Walden Sr was a gravestone carver who imitated the dominant Manning style, popular in much of eastern Connecticut.  His son would become a carver by 1800, and carved the marble urn marker for his father in Scotland, as well as many other markers spread through Windham and New London County Connecticut This marker is located in the Center Cemetery in Windham Connecticut.
Virtual Sketchbook 3.- Visual analysis at the Ringling Museum.
By: Michelle Dominguez.
( A picture of me in front of the Ringling Museum)
Walking around Ringling and seeing all the art displayed was amazing. No matter where you walk there is a piece of art that has meaning and value. It was hard to Pick which artwork I would like to write about. While walking around I seen a small little Sculpture. The Sculpture I was looking at is called The Crucifixion by William Edmondson. First off let's talk about the physical qualities of the little sculpture. When you first look at it, it looks like some type of Stone. The stone is shaped as a cross, and the figure Depicts an image of Jesus Christ. While reading further into it I discovered that the sculpture was made from local limestone in Nashville TN. Edmondson Used a railroad spike and tools from his household as his tools to make the statue. There are shapes used on this sculpture including a circle for the head and a cross. This artwork makes me feel. Spiritual. I believe it evokes these feelings because it is a Statue of Jesus Christ. At the Ringling Museum. Underneath this artwork was Paragraphs talking about the creator of the art and what it is. Edmondson Was a stone Carver. In 1927. He started making gravestones for the black community in Nashville, TN. He produced Lots Of handheld sculptures. These included sculptures of Human figures, Animals and Sculptures of the Crucifixion. He made the statues of the Crucifixion from the years 1930 to 1939. And there are at least four versions. Jesus is a powerful Roll in African American art. Edmondson Was an African American living in Nashville and his Parents had been previously enslaved. He was born on December 1874 and died in 1951. Throughout his life. He made many sculptures and is a historical Artist in the African American art. They were influenced from his African-American culture.His sculptures were made with limestone and were very minimalist. He is known and will continue to be known as being one of the most important African American artists of his time. In conclusion based on my research, and everything i have learned so far about art and artists, what is the importance of this work of art to society and/or the world. I Believe this artwork is important to the world. Many people are believers of Jesus Christ and this statue depicts that image of the crucifixion. Therefore it is very important.
