obsessed w gwen's dreams. someone pointed this out and kind of why griffin doesn't have one but i forgot who. bruce, who's the towns golden boy, everybody knows him. people have known him since he was young, this isn't anything new. but, since people have known him, thats what gwen's dream is. stuff about him. but its also mainly baseball, which is something else he's known for. people know he plays baseball, im sure thats a reason he became popular. gwen's dream about vance? him fighting and the cops having to come get him. thats what he's known for in town, so thats what her dream his. and billy's, who's on his paper route. he's s the paperboy and its how he's defined, so much that its one of the only things he knows after he dies. he delivered newspapers. griffin doesn't get one because people didn't know him. his life's a mystery. finney is only in one where he's begging to get out because that's what gwen needs to know. he's fighting for it and she just needs to know where he is.

"THIS IS HALLOWEEN, THIS IS HALLOWEEN!" A voice cheered, letting out laughs as he ran alongside another boy. Whilst walking, Y/N would raise a brow at the sight of the local paperboy running alongside another. The invisible boy that nobody seemed to talk to in school. They were walking alone, clutching their bag of candy in hands. They knew who the group was, but talking to them was out of the question. Their eyes scanned the group, taking note of all the boys. People would call them mean or not, Y/N couldn't exactly remember the rumors that people would spread. Though they didn't care at all. It wasn't their business.

Continuing to walk, they tensed up slightly at the sound of footsteps behind them. They hadn't know who's footsteps they were, but they tried their best to ignore them. "Just keep walking. Just.... Keep walking." They whispered to theirselves, putting pressure on their legs as they walked. Before they heard a voice and felt someone tap their shoulder. Spinning quickly on their heel, they glanced at the boy that had tapped their shoulder. Finney Blake. One of the baseball kids of Denver. "Hey! Y/N, right? Your costume looks sick!" He complimented with a smile. He was nice. One of the more... nicer ones. At least when they asked about him in the schools. Standing with a rather confused look now, Y/N gave a slight smile in return to the other boys warm and genuine one. "Thanks... your costume's pretty cool too." Finney's costume almost looked like it was some kind of star royalty.

A crown of black and blue, a cape that had the constellations and stars all over it, dragging lightly behind him. He was wearing a fancy outfit too. Dark blue, purple, black and gold. It looked nice, Y/N could admit. Finney's smile had grown larger at the compliment, his eyes closing for a moment. "Thanks! I got help from Bruce.." He explained, motioning over to the baseball star, who was talking to a girl about two years younger. The baseball star was dressed as a zombie. He had made it so his left eye was no longer its usual shade of brown, but purely white with red splotches along his face. Indicating blood.

Bruce wore almost a replica of his usual outfit. A short sleeved white t-shirt with green sleeves, green collar, jeans and sneakers. Though it looked ripped. His shirt almost looked like a crop top, but it wasn't fully. His jeans were ripped too. One a full leg, the other like pair of shorts. His shoes and socks were normal. His stomach looked bloodied, like it's been cut open of some sort and he let himself bleed out. He had a bite mark on one arm, seeing as he must've been transformed into a zombie.

Y/N’s eyes soon landed on the local paperboy and the younger boy from before. The paperboy, whom they now realized to be Billy Showalter, was dressed as a makeshift wolf. Having what looked to be a headband with gray wolf ears on it, a belt that looked like a tail. He looked pretty decent. He had a red flannel on, black ripped jeans and a pair of sneakers. His flannel had only one full sleeve, but Y/N wouldn’t judge. Most werewolf movies always had ripped clothing. A soft hum escaped them before they spoke aloud. “All your outfits look good. I’m just a basic ol’ (c/c).” They explained, but Finney raised a brow. “Are you kidding me? Your outfit looks awesome!” He spoke happily, hearing a pair of footsteps walk towards him. Robin, his closest friend, but sometimes they acted more than that.

“Finn, you ready? Vance is close to stealing someone’s candy if you don’t hurry up.” The boy with the mask commented, lifting it up and letting it rest on his head, where his bandana would usually be. He wore a hockey mask, carrying a hockey stick with his bag of candy on the end of it.  "Oh. Hey Y/N!" He then greeted, giving a smile to the (h/c)'d individual. Robin was a relaxed kid, having no issues with anybody but a boy by the name of Moose. That kid was a douchebag, everyone knew that. Finally, Y/N's eyes landed on Vance Hopper. A kid who always got into more fights than Robin. They've heard the rumors around the school, but stuck to their own. Not like they cared about the rumors, it wasn't their issue to begin with.

Vance was covered in stitches. At least that's what it looked like. He had stitches all over his body. His arms, face, legs, hands. He basically looked like an experiment covered in stitches. It looked pretty cool. He had fake blood trailing down his face and head. He was complaining to Bruce and Amy, his eyes narrowed as he spoke, using his hands as he spoke. Y/N couldn't hear him, but knowing what Robin, Vance was getting impatient with how Finney was taking his time.  "Yeah, I'm ready! Oh! Y/N, do you wanna join us?" Finn answered before facing Y/N and smiling widely again. 

"You want me to join? I mean- if you don't mind. That'd be nice." Y/N spoke calmly, rubbing the back of their neck with the hand not carrying their bag of candy.  "We don't mind at all! Come on! Join the Halloween fun!"

It’s been atleast five days since Vance and Bruce hanged out together. Bruce was always walking away, saying he had already made plans to hang out with Finney, Robin, Billy, Griffin or Gwenny.

It was getting so fucking annoying for Vance. At first he thought it was annoying that they kept taking up all the time he could get with Bruce. But then he started to think, which was something he usually didn’t do.

He ended up overthinking. He thought that Bruce just didn't like him as much as he did before and that sooner or later, Bruce would break up with him.

This made Vance upset. And maybe just tear up a little.

Bruce was happy he could help plan a surprise birthday party for his boyfriend but he just couldn't stand not seeing him more.

It makes him feel bad inside seeing Vance’s face when he says he’s going to ‘hang out" with the others instead of his boyfriend. Bruce has even thought of telling Vance about the surprise party.

"NO Yamada! It's called a SURPRISE party for a reason, idiot!" Gwen said. "Please! I can't stand seeing Vance upset at me!" Bruce pleaded. "I know that Bruce! But just keep quiet, for just a little longer. Okay?" Gwen said. Bruce reluctantly agreed, but he couldn't shake the guilt he felt about hurting Vance's feelings.

Over the next few days, Vance slowly started to stop asking Bruce to come over and watch him play pinball and other things. And Bruce cannot take it anymore.

He hated this.

Vance was playing pinball, trying to beat his high score when Bruce came to him. "Hey, Vance, come over to my house today. I gotta tell you something." Bruce whispered to him. Vance just nodded and followed Bruce to his place.

When they made it, Vance started speaking. "Look, I know I'm not the best at these kinds of things but you just have to give me another chance." Vance whimpered and tears started falling down his face slowly. "What? Vance, I'm not breaking up with yo-" Bruce was saying before he got interrupted.

"SURPRISE?" Everyone yelled out but they kept quiet when they saw what was happening. "What?" Vance mumbled, clearly confused. "I came here to tell you that the only reason I haven't been around you was that...I was helping plan this party. for your birthday." Bruce admitted and Vance immediately got embarrassed and turned red.

“Oh.” Was all Vance said before he looked at everyone else and just went to eat the cake.

“Thanks.” Vance muttered. Finney thought it was akward but Robin just thought the party needed music.

So Robin put on Vance’s favorite artist and the party resumed.

Everybody was caught up in their own thing so Bruce went up to Vance. “Vance, bae, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to-“ SPLAT. The cake went onto Bruce’s face. Vance laughed at the sight until Cake went onto his face. They just laughed at each other.

Robin saw this and immediately took it upon himself to take a photo of them. So he did. Secretly, When the both of them weren't looking.

Robin then wrote on the Polaroid picture "8/10/79. Surprise."

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.." A tired voice sang out.  Tears fell down who seemed to be the toughest kid in all of Denver. The kid no one dared to mess with. But here sat Vance Hopper.  The blonde sat alone in the basement of The Grabber, the man who had already taken two boys before him. Griffin Stagg, the boy who was invisible the whole time he was alive.  And Billy Showalter. Paperboy. As Vance remembered him as. He took a shaky breath in ,tears continuing to fall down the boy's bloodied face. 

 "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.."  He continued to sing, his knees close to his chest. He wanted to go home. Even if he was a delinquent, all Vance wanted to do was go home and act like everything was fine.  He knew he wasn't going home. Not when The Grabber had made that perfectly clear.  The constant "I almost let you out" he heard from the masked man shattered his heart completely. He knew he wasn't leaving anytime soon. So in his eyes, it was just pathetic to hear that, or even think he was leaving. He learnt that lesson last time he tried to leave. 

The feeling of a stupid belt.. That shit hurt so much, he felt like he couldn't move for weeks. When he had his nose broken, god he cried like a bitch. His eyes watered. It felt like it was getting pierced. But ten times worse. His tears continued to fall, as he softly continued to sing that stupid birthday song. He knew it was his birthday. He just knew. His eyes continued to fill to the brim with tears, before he rolled to lay on his side, himself basically curling into a ball. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.."

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR VANCE.." He cried out, slowly starting to hiccup on his words. He could feel himself stuttering and crying. Everything hurt. From his bloody nose, to all the welts on his back from the feeling of a belt.. The only thought on his mind was his family. For once. Not even pinball crossed his mind. Well, maybe once or twice. But his main goal was going home. Home, praying his parents would be glad he was okay. Well.  At least him mom. His dad and him had a rocky relationship.. Mainly with his dad being a cop... Long story. He usually was the one to always be called to the scene Vance caused. Just recently. At least he thought recently, it was the Grab N'Go..  That's another story for another day.

His eyes tightly closed, his body curled on himself, Vance could feel approaching him, and slowly but surely, it was The Grabber's. His head lifted slightly, before dropping right back onto the mattress he laid on. The Grabber held what seemed to be a knife tightly in his hand, but Vance didn't even notice at first glance. His eyes just closed. /The/Vance Hopper, had given up. After months of eating, he'd given up. Finally.  

As he felt his heart beat begin to quicken, but he didn't dare lift his head. Seconds later, there was nothing. The Grabber had done. it. The third victim. He smiled under the mask, staring at the bloodied mess he'd done.  No longer did Vance look so awake. The blood from the boys neck dripped down onto the once white shirt. The Grabber said nothing, just let out small laughs. Talk about crazy..

Random Vance Hopper headcanons(bc i can)

He was a mommas boy before she left because of his abxsive dad.

Has a terrible relationship with his dad, his dads a neglectful, abusive, drunk.

He loves PDA. Anyone who says otherwise is wrong, hes a attention starved little gay boy.

he wont even care that people are looking at him and his boyfriend holding hands and kissing each other on the cheek, give. That. Boy. Lovings.

Never fucking brushes his hair, you had to have bruce and robin hold him down while you and finney untangled it(it took probably like 10 hours and everyone was exhausted after) and griffin and billy watched, eating popcorn.

After that you would tackle him in the morning and forcefully brush his hair, eventually he got used to it, and after a REALLY. Long time, he started to enjoy it.
