Day 2 in Korea - Friday 28 July 2023

Eonnie Oppa let me sleep in, the kids were busy going in and out for activities, I was with Oppa. As he cleaned etc, we talked and he left, gave the key of the house as I planned to exercise outside the apartment. I went out, observing the neighbourhood, walked, and it was so hot. I went back home, survived, enjoyed the quiet apt and did pilates. Rest for a while then the kids came, we are learning hangeul together. Sooyi was so excited to teach me and bring me many many books to learn, sooo cute nae sarang. Seoyi hates it tho, she said na gongbu shiro!! wkwkkww... The kids had lunch preped by Taekyun Oppa.

Then oppa brought us to book cafe Milkbook in Paju as I wished. It was sososo nice. Oppa really get my idea, the place is just my dream, what I always wanted as I saw instagram. On the car was so cute already, we all sat at the back but the kids were being so noisy so Oppa said Marsella appe, sit in front with me hahaha.. we really had a great time, ordered ice cream, coffee, read and walk around together, took pictures with my camera, oppa warned the kids as they told me to keep studying but he said Imo want to swui (rest) hahaha.. then the kids beg to buy cookies and books to me buy the father took over. I spent quality time with Seoyi as well, read pallgang moori, we took turn taking pictures, i love you so much chung seo yi.

Then afterwards we head home because we need to prep for Friday worship. But i was starving then Oppa cooked ramyeon, the best one, also served with halmeoni's kimchi which is the best!! I remember we talked a lot and learned for Indo performance together.

We head out, listened to sung si kyung (as I watched hangang n yeoudo sign: jjinj hangukidaaa), we talked in the car, dropped the kids to tung tung kimbap, the head to Oppa's studio in the church. we brought our shirts also Eonnie's, and I watched him work on songs SO COOL! Seoyi called me as we became Katalk friends hahaha.. they came back and we're heading to the rehearsal room where I saw many familiar faces. Han Jibsanim, Ha Jangronim, Mi Yeong Onni, etc and we're histerically reunited. The youth also come one by one, Jongsu, Zion, Hyemi, GwangHui with his laptop, EunJung Onni, Yoora, EunHye, Seungmin, Hakman, Kiwan Sieun, DongHwan, Yeseung Yeneung, Eun gu, Haon, KyeongJu, Haram, Hye Yeon, and many others. Everybody looked busy just finished from work though.

We rehearsed so cutely, with motion etc, haha hehe, trying to remember the lyrics, put on our position, n turned out me was put in front next to Yoora, Sieun, GwangHui and we had to hold microphone omg what is this.. Then we head to the main hall church, rehease very cutely and helped by the performance team, remember our mic, correcting our choreography, trying to get ready and 1st song that was sang was the 1st korean worship I downloaded during my father was sick in the hospital back in 2020 (merinding gak sih -0- pengen nangis tersedu kalo inget kala itu ga kebayang bisa bolak balik korea ky sekarang gini, but I know that's when God started to work in koreanness DNA in me HAHHA).

Then Han Jibsanim asked us to get ready and went to the backstage on the 3rd song. And we watched out Bali video mission for the first time with bitjereun nun (mata berbinar/shining eyes), teasing each others WOOOOOO on different part, feeling blessed it happened, unity, thankful, proud of God's work, nostalgic and mixed feeling. I remember every second of it, I want to keep it in my heart forever. I love you guys so much, God thank you for this new family and our strong bond, please keep this and the fire for the gospel forever.

Then time to show hahaha, it went well i guess and i enjoyed and smiled. I think it's what Chung Eun Ju muksanim meant by we shouldn't give up in our fate - that I was born shy like this, ugly or fat, but with God we can change everything, being used to be a light, brave, attractive and kind compassionate, willing to get out even though im an extreme extrovert. So God, all the glory belong to you again, please keep me humble and under Your grace. We then listened about the missionaries' work in Batam, SG, Malay with Maurice muksanim that I heard the next day as well.

After service I said to Eunjung Onni that I will go out with Yoora's soon which is Hakman n Gwang Hui. We're hanging out to watch movie together at 11 pm omg, we first stopped in front of the church, insa: Yujong, Seokmin, Yejin, Taeyon, Ryan, everybody is line 91, etc and we had fun walking to the cinema. Hak man bought me movie ticket and I bought uksusu drink as well. They challenged me to understand the movie hahaaa. Gwanghui on the way keep questioning how can I improve my hangukmal, so cute, I spoke to Yejin and how she used to be Yusosu's seonsaengnim. I sat next to Yoora, the seat was nice and we had adventure inside the building as well, trying to get the elevator etc, and going out was a hastle but chemita like an adventure. Hahahehe and we went seperately, going back to the church as Yoora parked there, went to toilet, pyeonijeom to buy vit c n snaks, nice ahjussi then we head to onni oppa house. Yoora continue to work while I was so exhausted and went to sleep. She used Yui's pyjama can you imagine how cute hahaha.. that's the end of my packed 2nd day..

Be Melodramatic

Dari judulnya aja udah taulah ya kalau drama ini pasti bakal bikin mellow gimana gitu. Dengan genre slice of life, Be Melodramatic bercerita tentang 3 sahabat yang tinggal dalam satu atap dan bagaimana mereka menjalani hidup mereka.

Drama ini diperankan oleh Chun Woohee, Ahn Jaehong, Jeon Yeobin, Han Jieun, Gong Myung dan yang lain-lain.

Im Jinjoo (Yang diperankan oleh Chun Woohee), adalah seorang penulis drama yang baru aja dipecat oleh atasannya karena ingin mempertahankan naskah cerita yang ia punya. Jinjoo ini punya gaya beda dari penulis drama pada umumnya, karena ia suka menulis dengan gaya literatur. Dia juga yakin, naskah buatannya akan sukses. Jinjoo ini kadang-kadang dianggap aneh, tapi kadang juga sangat bijaksana dan introspektif. Dia mengunyah pikirannya tanpa dikekang oleh norma-norma atau harapan masyarakat, dan ini sering kali menghasilkan kebijakan yang aneh.

Lee Eunjung (yang diperankan oleh Jeon Yeobin), adalah pendiri sebuah production company dan bekerja sebagai sutradara dokumenter. Lee Eunjung ini selalu bikin semua orang gak bisa menebak apa yang ada di pikirannya. Dia cerdas, kuat dan berbakat, dan sangat setia kepada sahabat-sahabatnya, yang semuanya adalah hal yang baik.

Hwang Hanjoo (yang diperankan Han Jieun) adalah karyawan divisi marketing di sebuah rumah produksi. Sebagai single mother yang memiliki anak, Hanjoo menjalani hidupnya sebagai karyawan dan ibu. Dimana seorang perempuan sekaligus single mother itu dicap sebelah mata oleh oranglain, struglenya ya udah ketebaklah ya tentang single mother yang berkarir. Hanjoo ini memiliki kepribadian yang paling rapuh, dengan kepribadiannya yang relatif lebih malu-malu, memberikan sifat, dan kerangka fisik kecil.

Sepanjang 16 episode, drama ini lebih berfokus dengan cerita ketiga pemeran perempuan utamanya dan ceritanya menarik untuk diikuti. memiliki irisan kehidupan unik, tidak sempurna, dan memiliki selera humor yang gak biasa. Karakter ketiganya pun terasa nyata, dimana karakter mereka tuh terlihat kayak orang dewasa tapi dilain sisi punya juga sisi kekanak-kanakan, mereka juga bebas melakukan apa aja yang mereka pengen, tetapi tetep berusaha agar dapat menjaga hidupnya harmonis.

Berkumpulnya empat sahabat yang duduk-duduk menonton TV, ngemil, minum, dan mengobrol, udah cukup untuk bikin aku suka sama drama ini. Yang paling berkesan dari drama inituh setiap scene kehidupan Eunjung sih bukan berarti aku gak suka sama karakter yang lain ya tapi hidupnya Eunjung tuh tragis banget, ngeliat semua orang di sekitar Eunjung mengawasi untuk memastikan dia baik-baik aja. Walaupun gitu, gak ada satu orang pun yang bahas masalah Eunjung dengan terang-terangan, [SPOILER ALERT!!!] ya karena ituloh semenjak kematian pacarnya Eunjung jadi sering ngomong sendiri, like gak bisa nerima kenyataan kalo pacarnya tuh udah gak ada.

Favorite scene aku tuh, pas Eunjung keluar dari kamarnya terus nyamperin sahabat-sahabatnya dan bilang ke mereka kalo dia mengalami kesulitan, that's the moment yang campur aduk, even aku dengernya aja langsung nangis. Ngeliat sahabat-sahabatnyanya yang otomatis langsung nyamperin dan peluk Eunjung satu persatu dan kemudian berterimakasih ke Eunjung karena udah bilang kalo dia kesulitan itu bikin aku sangat tersentuh banget. Mereka udah nunggu moment tersebut dengan tenang selama dua tahun penuh, meskipun mereka udah khawatir dan cemas, karena mereka tahu bahwa itu harus terjadi ketika dia siap.

Pokoknya Masing-masing karakter harus melalui rasa suka dan duka mereka. Gak cuma itu, disini juga diceritakan tentang rasa kepedulian mereka terhadap sesama. Terus drama ini tuh setuju banget dengan istilah membuka lembaran baru dibandingkan tetap berkutat sama masalalu. Gimana caranya melepaskan orang-orang yang pergi seenaknya di hidup kita, gimana caranya kita perlahan ikhlas atas kehilangan seseorang yang kita cintai, dan mulai belajar menghadapi orang-orang baru.

Yang menjadi poin terbaik dari keseluruhan cerita di Be Melodramatic adalah dialog yang sederhana tapi menghangatkan hati. Obrolan-obrolannya ringan tapi bisa relate sama kehidupan nyata. Kadang selama nonton tuh aku ngerasa "kokya bener banget?" Jagoan deh writernim nya.

Jadi writernimnya tuh menyelipkan banyak pesan kehidupan gituloh. Bikin kita mikir ulang pada hal-hal yang gak terduga, melelahkan, berantakan, tapi penuh harapan. Boleh aja kita ngerasa khawatir dan takut menghadapi masa depan, tapikan gak ada yang tau kehidupan kita kedepannya tuh bakal gimana? That's a normal life, let it flow aja guys yang terpenting jangan baper terus overthinking ya setelah nonton drama ini wkwk

Sayangnya rating akhir drama ini pun hanya 1% (termasuk rendah di Korea) tapi banyak juga netizen yang suka dengan drama ini dengan konsistensinya dari awal hingga episode terakhir. Tapi coba deh diperhatiin, rating cuma 1% itu artinya gak banyak yang nonton kan yaaa??

Jadi kalau kamu tanya apa drama ini sangat direkomendasikan, I’d say YES! You should watch it. Thank me later hahahaha

DAY 1 in KOREA

There were many mixed feelings before I departed again to Korea. I never expected the timing will be so tight and closed to the time I hosted them from the bible camp. At the back of my mind of course I did not know why, and still feel tired and not ready, but somehow I trust that God arranged this way for His good own sake. And HE PROVED HE IS ALWAYS RIGHT. After 1 hectic week of PI, 1 hectic week of work & arranging everything, I departed with faith, whatever God want to do, let it be, and WRC 2023 here I go...

Bella went first and she said she's quite busy so she couldn't accompany me for the few first days. I was like, great, how? But Oh Jibsanim contacted me and said she will pick me up at the airport. I was like OMG, of course that was a great idea because I know Eun Jung Eonnie would be so occupied with work since she left for PI. And not only Oh Jibsanim picked me up, she also has arranged a lunch meeting with Kwonsanim and Eun Gu at their apartment and she has planned to cook for me, I was like CRYYYYYY..

Also Hak Man kindly sent me a prior message about my coming and said let's hang out in Korea, which made me feel welcomed and relieved that I would have friends apart from Yoora & Bella. THANK YOU SO MUCH

I was so happy departing from Bali, to Singapore, was so nice to get out of the country. So funny that on the way to the airport I had a nice convo with the driver who went for singing competition for his church and how he shared about his spiritual journery :'') I hope I shared what can strengthen him as well at that time. The queue in the immigration etc was so crazy tho because of many scouts.

But finally I made it to my so called 2nd home Singapore, where the captain & stewardess always impressed me. I ate so many things including Ba Kut Teh that forced me to speak chinese because of their assumption. Bee Cheng Hiang, exp Bacha coffee n kaya toast at term 1 with angpao that was given by Uncle Chan last year, thank you uncle. I had 8 hours layover but I spent in the airport HAHAHA don't even want to go out to jewel so I just rest, but almost late for a change of gates, jauh banget but thankful God nudged me to leave earlier. On the go the indian staffs talked to me in Korean (MUL) with assumption that I'm a korean, pheww so much assumption for a day, but i feel so funny. The turbulance was quite bad that I couldn't sleep but thank you Kuang Han Tsu, I managed to see your handsome face and cure my anxiety HAHAHAHHA.

There were no amount of love I ever gain these past year apart from my Korean church family :''')) from them I realise how important and beautiful it is to be loved unconditionally like this, I learn how I should share the same love they gave, without any prejudice or expectation that they will receive something in return from me.

Anyway after had quite a deep talk with Oh Jibsanim, we're heading to Eun Gu apartment, I'm always amused and still feel like in the drama. We talked a lot, Kwonsanim made me so comfortable and served Galbitang, many delicious banchan, pacheon, delicious drink, peel guail as well. Eun Gu was nice and all smiling, I think he gained much confidence since the camp which makes me SO EXTREMELY happy as well. He was polite and said one day will eat kwonsanim's budae jjigae together with Nuna. I will be back for that Eun Guy-ya!

Then jibsanim dropped me to EunJung Eonnie's office. I couldn't remember much as I was so tired and slept all through in the common room. I just remembered some girls were laughing wkkwkw. After Eunjung Eonnie finished her work, she took me around to our church and parked, took a picture of me and the church building, then JENG JENG we met Hong Jangronim the PD-nim HAHAHA. Oh my I'm so happy to get to know him better. He treated us for a meal at the mulgogi siktang, my favorite resto that I went to last year aswell. He said my hangul is charae Hahaha, and showed our church's video content. Ahhh I remembered even though I was so full (2 bowl of rices at Eun Gu's house) but I couldn't resist the fish, most delish udon and banchan huhuhu I really love hansik, ottokeee yeorobun.

Afterwards we departed and go to Eonnie's apt that I have missed the most. As usual, I stayed at Yui's room. I felt like home, the kids were still away, also Taekyun Oppa. So I went out with Eonnie to walk through the apartment. Twas so nice and cute, it's like Kdrama in the real life. We had a patbingsoo date at Tous Les Jur, the injeolmi and pat are the best omg eonnieee I can't stop eating the big portion. Then we went to baskin robin because Oppa wanted some ice cream.

Afterwards, we're home, the kids were there, we're happilly reunited, nae saranaghaneun chukadeul Yui, Seoyi, Sooyi, I love you so much. I gave the gifts to eonnie, oppa, and the kids and heading to sleep. Taekyun Oppa and Eonnie ensured that I slept well with aircond, lamp and fan. Huhuhu God, may you bless this family as I couldn't be able to repay their kindness. I just cover each of them with Your grace, that the light they spread save other souls as well, and I pray that I could be like them to treat others with loving pure kindness and no prejudice. this is a rundown on the biography / death / back room / glass person in the google doc, also better written / explained because it’s not prosey <3

hajun is not a good father, he never has been. from a very young age, all eunjung has heard from him are his drunken spirals about how great they used to be. his surname was once held in a high regard, the name of an empress and he has always dwindled about to the three yun children that because of the greatness he has passed onto them, they must be great too.

eunjung has only ever viewed his spiels as hypocritical though. she has only ever known her dad as a mean drunk who lives in the dirtiest, most run down house in town with his poor three kids. her twin brother, eunsang, her younger brother, sangjung, and her spend their childhoods taking care of each other because nobody else will. their mother does something, they never know what because she only arrives with enough money for groceries and bills and then she leaves.

it’s that way for most of her childhood and most of her life. it’s a continuous cycle of eunjung + eunsang taking care of sangjung ( who starts going my samuel when he’s ten and the twins are twelve. the twins have english names, too, but eunjung has too much pride – like her father – and eunsang is the eldest and will do whatever his twin does out of love ) and eunjung is just – quite the difficult child. she speaks her mind and all of her opinions, as well as letting the festering anger within her too grow because she doesn’t know what else to do with it.

death tw. anyway, by sixteen, she’s just this bitter girl that the boys hook up with because she’s the poor girl from the dirty house on the rundown street. she’s got a reputation as a shrew around town, but she’s fine with being a shrew if she still gets her way. samuel is much more popular than either of the twins ( who are epitome of bad boy / bad girl from the wrong side of the tracks ) and is invited to a party at fourteen. it’s tradition to party in this abandoned mansion out in the woods and basically, an accident happens and samuel is pushed from the second story balcony into the foyer and d-words.

he’d called eunjung before dying though, asking for a ride so the twins had went to go get him but instead found him dead. while trying to figure out what had happened, she spots some kid that doesn’t like her still lingering around so she tries to chase him and he.... like.... pushes her off too and she d-words. end tw.

her back room is just this little room and she still to this day doesn’t know how much time she spent in there because it was just so confusing, all she remembers is that she ( or someone ) was trying to convince herself that she was home and that everything was fine. but, she’s a bitch and was like “uh, actually, i’ve never had a home <3″ and broke out of whatever spell.

her glass person is just her. identical, but trapped in the walls underneath the ugly yellow wallpaper in the room she was in. same as her, just more lifeless and it is really the only thing that still scares her – and it tried to escape the walls, but it couldn’t. the lasting effect is that if she’s alone in a room for more than an hour she swears the walls start stretching like someone’s behind it and just always feeling like she’s being watched. she also doesn’t like looking at her own reflection that much anymore because it just reminds her of her glass person.

anyway, she survives miraculously and after testifying and blah blah blah ( i did research on settlements and i still didn’t understand so ), the family of the kid who pushed her off – and probably samuel – gives the yun family a huge sum of money for their troubles and calls it a settlement. it comes with the condition that eunjung doesn’t sue or bring them up ever again and she’s like fine that’s cool, whatever, i’m rich now.

but her parents still aren’t happy and before samuel’s funeral, eunsang runs away from home, leaving them with only the daughter that neither of them really wanted. she still pushes forward though and ends school as valedictorian, prom queen, etc. and heads to fortuna because she really doesn’t think she can go anywhere and also�� her counselors are ass <3

she’s studying international relations + print journalism, her hopes are diplomacy or something, but she just chose the majors that she tested highest on on that career test i can’t choose. yeah.

so... we’re gonna give this another shot... this is heather, here with a brand new second character: han eunjung. she’s the slightly-aggressive manager of snc, but she’ll gladly boss anyone around, given the chance. currently don’t have any pages for her because i’m still kind of... testing the waters... but i’ll get those done & posted once i have a firmer idea of how i’m going to write her! anyway, like this or message me if you want to plot with her. without further ado, read below the cut for an introduction to eunjung!

history / .

she spent the first eleven years of her life in daejeong, being raised by her biological parents. however, her mom ended up falling ill and once she passed, it was hard for her to stay in her childhood home and it was hard for her father to be a decent parent whilst he was dealing with his own pain. as a result, eunjung was sent to the small town of gampo to stay with her maternal grandfather temporarily. it... was not temporary.

hated gampo at first because of how old everything was. every building she saw looked like it could easily be destroyed by one big puff from the big bad wolf and her grandfather was the embodiment of the grumpy old man stereotype. in time, she became begrudgingly fond of the town and even her grandpa, though. he helped her come out of her shell (as she had already been shy & losing her mom made her even more quiet), helped her decide that she wanted to make a good life for herself. started taking school seriously.

ended up going to kyung hee university’s school of management. became an intern at atlas records in 2011 and by the time she graduated in 2012, she had been hired on full time in their management department, primarily working with funds.

thought she would be working with funds for however long she stayed there and she wasn’t thrilled about the idea, but it was kind of? whatever? wanted a raise, but overall, she was fine with how things were. but by early 2016, she found that she was occasionally working as a stand-in artist manager. it was stressful and she didn’t really know why she was doing it because? that wasn’t in her job description?

ended up getting offered the job as trainee girl group snc’s manager. thought long and hard about it, didn’t really wanna take it but also hated her job anyway, so she accepted. has been with snc since. won’t say it, but she kinda loves them or w/e. big sister energy.

personality /

being raised by an older man really shaped who she is -- he had a slightly cynical outlook on life, usually expressed through sardonic humor. this is eunjung in a nutshell.

she does her job, but at the same time, she isn’t a hardass about it and, having such a pessimistic outlook on life anyways, wants to try to have fun sometimes! very impulsive, will say yes to almost anything, so long as it won’t cause scandals for her girls or put them in danger. a lot of people have this idea about her that she’s uptight, strict, will never relax. but when you get to know her, she’s pretty funny to be around. always up for a good time. the girls might even have to remind her of her job once in a while because she can get a little careless.

doesn’t take stupid questions well. can be condescending if she thinks someone has asked a pointless question; i imagine that she might be seen as intimidating by younger trainees or anyone who isn’t used to the kind of demeanor she has.

fun facts /

she speaks korean and spanish fluently, is beginning to learn english but she can understand it better than she can speak it.

she smokes and she’s unashamed of it, but she’ll never smoke in a car with closed windows or inside at all. if she’s minding her own business and someone tells her to put her cigarette out, though... she might just put it out in your drink. :/

has a nicer image in public situations since she /is/ a k-pop manager and she doesn’t want any of her behavior to affect snc, but you can usually still tell when she’s bothered since she’s... quite cold when she wants to be.

she really likes fashion. on days when snc isn’t running around so much, she likes to look nice even though she’s just a manager.

she lives alone in an apartment that’s... awfully messy. can’t be bothered to clean since she doesn’t spend a lot of time at home, anyway. she really wants pets, but doesn’t have the time to care for them, either. mostly eats microwave meals, but she will cook for snc, should they ask. cares about them more than she cares about herself and it shows. if anyone wants to step in and help her clean up her life, though! please do! she needs it.
