Ok so Link was intended to have a little sister in before the Calamity, so I thought I'd do my own take on her.

Aryll is 7 years old and Link (in my headcanon) is 20. Link's an absolute goof, so he's good at flipping on the big brother goofball mode. Her best friend is a cucco named Helmaroc, or Roc, who follows wherever she goes.

She sits on the roof of their cottage telling Roc of all the adventures those birdies that soar above Mt. Lanayru must've seen on their flight across Hyrule.

Could you tell me more about Time in your adventure swap au? Who kidnapped his big sister? And what about his eyepatch?

Aughh I have so many questions-

I’m happy to answer your questions!

First, who kidnapped Saria? The answer is the Helmaroc King, just like how he kidnapped Aryll in canon.

Saria got snatched because the Helmaroc King was assigned to catch young girls with pointy ears in the search for Princess Zelda.

The issue is that he and Ganondorf are going about this in the entirely wrong way because this reincarnation of Zelda is not, in fact, a woman. By the time Saria is kidnapped and Time set off to rescue her, Sheik would’ve been out for over a year. The only reason they got involved in this situation at all is because Time kept sneaking onboard their ship and would not leave them the hell alone until they agreed to help him.

They threw him overboard at least twice and he just kept coming back. Stubborn little shit.

As for why Time wears an eyepatch, the simple answer is because he thinks it’s cool. As a kid, his brother Mido told him that eyepatches were very cool, and Time started wearing one just to be cool. Then Saria started making him special embroidered eyepatches, which he adored, so he kept wearing them. Back then he’d often switch which eye it was on but generally kept it on his right eye.

When he did eventually lose his eye, he was already used to wearing an eyepatch daily. How’d he lose it? He got pecked in the eye by a cucco.

It happened several years after his adventures. Every time someone asks how he lost his eye he gives a different story, as do all of his siblings. Sometimes he tells the truth but last time someone asked he answered “the moon stole it” so obviously nobody takes it seriously.
