The Skardu Airport is undoubtedly a work of art, surrounded as it is by snow-capped mountain peaks, captivating rivers, and the well-known chilly desert. It is a modest facility located in Pakistan's Gilgit-Baltistan area at a height of roughly 7316 feet. Previously, this domestic airport linked Skardu with Islamabad, the nation's capital; however, direct flights between Skardu and other cities of Pakistan were also anticipated to begin soon.
The newly built Skardu International Airport recently handled its first foreign passenger. On December 2, 2021, the airport, which had previously only been open for domestic flights, received a status upgrade.
A letter from the Civil Aviation Authority stated that a chartered international flight from Munich, Germany, was scheduled to land in Skardu on May 13, 2022. On May 16, 2022, the flight departed for Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
Both domestic and international travelers use the picturesque airport to fly to Skardu valley, one of Pakistan's most well-liked tourist sites. It is actually regarded as a genuine bit of heaven on earth.
