t'challa x black!reader (college au)
an: this was requested by @xclusvnani. thank you so much for requesting this. had a lot of fun writing this.
reader takes a trip to the library everyday just to see the handsome librarian t’challa.
warnings: fluff, sexual mentions, mentions death
"Y/N, you need a break, baby." Your mother, on the other end of this telephone conversation, pleads with you. Her naturally worrisome spirit coupled with her missing you and needing her only child around her is the basis for her call. Life just had not been the same for your mother since the death of your grandparents. "I am so proud of you. And, I know that you are taking those classes this summer so that you can graduate a semester early but I think you should come home. Even if it is for a weekend."
This is not, and will not, be the last time you hear your mother pleading for you to come home. The drive home from the college campus is approximately three hours. Not too long of a drive. However, you are on a mission to graduate from undergrad as soon as possible and get your Bachelor's degree. You welcome the calls from your mother daily. You miss her just as much as she misses you. You two have an extremely close relationship because it has always been just the two of you (and your grandparents). The ass that is supposedly your father skipped out before you were born. Your mother raised you as best as she could in that small ass two bedroom apartment in your hometown. As small as the apartment is, it is home. She worked a couple of jobs just to help you get to where you are now. The first couple of semesters, your tuition was paid for in full due to your mother's dedicated work ethic. It is only right that you work just as hard in your college classes.
"Mommy, I know...thank you, but I know." You assure her. Most of the time, you wish you were somewhere else. Rather than living on campus during the boring Summer semester and taking three classes, you'd rather be somewhere tropical, festive, and surrounded by your girls. Hell, at this point, you would take your childhood bedroom as a vacation spot. "Classes are almost over in July, then I'll be home. Just me and you, the couch, and our favorite movies." Your faves included almost every movie with Angela Bassett.
Your mother practically squealed and sighed in delight at the idea. She wanted to further your daily phone conversation but you told her that you had to go. You were heading to your college's library, your favorite spot at this school. You told her you loved her and hung up right before you walked in, pass the metal detectors, and straight to your regular location: the second floor. Due to the lack of students on campus for the summer, you knew that your regular spot would be available. There was a small nook on the library's second floor that included a couch, two chairs, and a coffee table. It is your hideaway from the rest of the library. You like to read, study, and write in that area. Also, it's where you can usually locate the man of your dreams as your friend Brie likes to refer to him as. As much as you do not want to admit to yourself and your friends, he is another reason you frequent the library.
You noticed him last Fall. He was following around one of the librarians, taking in information and nodding profusely. From what you could tell, he was eager to learn. Whenever he had a question or concern, he pressed his lips tightly together, quirked his eyebrows, and squinted his eyes. Whenever he learned something new, he nodded his head and smiled. It is a sexy, crooked smile. Of course, you know all of this because in between your reading, studying, and writing, you watch him. You noticed him way before he noticed you. You were sitting at your favorite spot when he breezed pass you with several books in his arms.
"Hello," He said to you. You looked upward at him from your position on the couch and nearly melted into a puddle that matched the one that was growing in between your thighs just at the sight of him. That accent, the way he said hello, you were taken aback. You were loss for words. He seemed to wait for you to say hello before he walked away.
"Hi," Your voice squeeked. You were immediately embarrassed. He did not laugh at you like you thought he would, he just smiled at you before walking away. You wanted to creep into a corner and disappear.
He would come over and say hello to you whenever he saw you. After the fifth time, he finally came over to you to say more than just a hello. But you couldn't hear him. You were listening to sweet R&B love songs of the 90s and 2000s through your earphones. Toni Braxton was making you miss a lover you never had when you felt a tap on your shoulder. It was him, Mr. Librarian, a nickname your friends dubbed him. You extracted your earphones from your ears, "Hi...?"
He smiled downward, in your direction, "Hi. I apologize for disturbing you during your studies but I wanted to ask a question,"
You thought he was going to ask you on a date. Maybe you two could have coffee together, preferably at the campus coffee shop. You are in love with their vanilla cappuccinos. However, he just wanted to know your reasoning for constantly returning to this same spot in the library. "Oh, well, I am an English major with a minor in Africana Studies. Most of the books that I need to use are in this section." You shrug. You did not let him know that his cosistent appearance in this section was another reason for your predictable return to this same nook.
"Africana Studies, eh?" He seemed pleased with your choice of study. "May I ask, why did you chose Africana Studies as an area of study?" He quirked his brows, pressed his lips together, and his eyes squinted at you. You play with the ends of your braids to calm the newfound nervousness. At this point, he sat down in one of the chairs.
You steadied your nervousness. He has an aura that commands your undivided attention. But, he gave you his undivided attention. "Why not be verse in the past, present, and future of my people? Black people, black culture, black histoty, blackness in its entirety is so rich. There is much that we know now but I'm sure there is much more that we have to learn." Any hint of nervousness you had detered. "So to answer your question, it was a necessary choice."
The smile that graced his lips did not falter. His smile was contagious. His smile, in turn, made you smile. And every time you saw him, your lips automatically curved into one. You two would have conversations about life on campus (including where are the best places to get good food), areas of study, and the library. You found out that he is a Graduate student studying International Relations. He is working in the library for financial reasons but also, he thoroughly enjoys literature. His love for literature began as a child. His mother forced him to read various literary texts to have a rich education and understanding of points of view that were similar and different than his. His father agreed that it would make him a better man and a better leader once he enters into the politics after college. When you found out his name, T'Challa Udaku, you had to know more about him.
You tried to Google search his name but nothing too juicy came up. He has a twitter where he discusses politics specifically foreign policy, soccer, threads with friends from back home, and how much he misses home. There was nothing hotepish. From what you could sumise, he does not currently have a girlfriend. He seemed to have threads with a someone named Nakia but those threads were older. Funny enough, you were able to find his sister. She seems like a jokester. You assume she probably makes fun of her brother but loves him dearly.
You dug a little deeper and asked your friend, Tiff, if she could find anything on him for you. Tiff was your roommate during your freshman year. You two have a sistership. She works in one of the university's offices. Simple enough, she had a way of looking at T'Challa's file. No it was not right but her helping you out was for research purposes. She could not provide much detail but that he is twenty eight years old, he's an International Student, and he attended school in England for his undergraduate studies. "And he is fine as hell. I see why you are stalking...I mean conducting research."
You learned so much about him during your conversations. You are thirsty and eager to learn more about him so you would find yourself in the library, looking for him. You figured out his work schedule on your own. You knew when he would clock in and out of his shifts.Your attention bounces around the second floor for him. You do not immediately go to your nook. However, he is nowhere in sight. You let out a frustrating sigh and venture over to your normal spot. As you approach, you notice him sitting in one of the chairs next to the couch. He is intently reading a novel: Chinua Achebe's A Man of the People. You recommended this book to him. There were two to-go coffee cups from the campus coffee shop on the table. The adrenaline that pumped inside you, calmed down. You cannot help but to smile at Mr. Librarian.
Your fingers tap his shoulder. He does not flinch. Instead, he looks up at you with a coolness that cannot be unmatched. "Y/N, hi."
"Hi, T'Challa. 'Got started on the novel already?" You sit down on your usual spot on the couch. You place your backpack next to you.
"I thought it was imperative. The way you described the novel, it was thrilling. I can already see such from the first couple of pages."
"Achebe was a genius," You grin. You can feel T'Challa's eyes search you. You catch a glimpse of him looking at your face, then your body, and back up to your face. You let him do so without any disturbance. At some point his stare made you nervous, now you lowkey bask in it. You crave it.
"I can already tell. Thank you for the recommendation. It is much needed to level out my course work and my position here. As a thank you, I went to the coffee shop. Vanilla cappuccino, right?"
He hands you one of the coffee cups. You take it, excitedly. Although it is summer, and it is hot, you will not deny yourself the flavor of a vanilla cappucino. You hum at the taste of the vanilla when you take a sip. "Thank you, T'Challa, you did not have to do this,"
"It is my pleasure Y/N." He pauses for a brief moment. He seems to mentally contemplate his next words. "Any way that I can bring you pleasure, I wish to do so." You sense that his words have a double entendre. He wants to bring you pleasure in the simple things like making you laugh, smile, and buying coffee for you. And, he wants to provide you a pleasure that awakens the sexual goodess within you. He wants to taste you on the tip of his tongue and make you come undone by the feel of him sliding inside of you. Your eyes meet his again, and they are lustful and hungry.
You contemplate your next move: either you pounce on this advancement or you act as if this conversation is not occurring. As many times as you have come to the library to see him and conducted as much outside research on who T'Challa is, you are not going to let this opportunity pass you by. You reach for his hand, so mighty, grand, and rich of chocolate. All you can think about is if his dick has the same description. You are sure that you will find out soon. "Is there anywhere that we can go that is private?" As much as you want to have engage in a public library fantasy, you want to be careful. You did not want T'Challa to lose his job or for your business to float around campus despite the lack of students on campus at the moment.
He takes your hand, enveloping into his. You follow him with your backpack and coffee in tow. Nearby, there is a media center room. There is a sign on the door that says: DO NOT USE. THANK YOU! You used one of these rooms before while working on a group project. It is difficult to book one of these rooms. However, Mr. Librarian has the ultimate access. He unlocked the room with a key. You slide pass him, feeling the hardness of his body against yours. You cannot help but to bite down on your lip at the feeling. He locks the door behind him. "No one is going to come in here, right?"
"This room has been unoccupied in months." He assures you, he places his coffee cup and novel down on a nearby desk. You do the same with your things. You two stare at each other, daring each other to make the first movement. "Come here." He challenges you with a confident smirk.
You shake your head, "No. Come here."
"Are you challenging me, Y/N?" He inches closer to you. You playfully shrug. He is now grinning at you. "So, you can come to the library, almost daily, to see me but you cannot come to me now? I am sure that you are tending to your studies but I have an inkling that your studies are not the only reason you are here. Admit it; you are here to see me."
T'Challa knew what you were up to, you have been caught. You could not back down from his challenge. Actually, his questioning and accusations excites you. Mr. Librarian is nasty, in the best way possible. He is now in front of you, staring into your eyes. He grabs you by your waist and firmly wraps his arm around you. His hand rests on the small of your back, right above your ass. You can smell his cologne - faint but intoxicatingly clean. His skin is perfect, chocolate and flawless. You can smell the scent of honey in his perfectly defined coils. Damn, this man is a dream.
"I come here to study, T'Challa. And, yeah, I come here to see you too." You admit.
"I knew it!" He wags his finger, feeling righteous in his suspicions about you. He did not want to come out and ask you if you only came to the library just to visit him. It would be rude of him. But he decided to take a chance. He checked out your book recommendation, bought your favorite cup of coffee, and with the spirit of Bast decided to take make his feelings known. "Can I ask another question?"
"Go ahead," You say.
"Can I kiss you?" Your heart damn near beat out of your chest. This beautiful, sexy man just asked could he kiss you? You'd never been asked before, by a man, if he could kiss you.
"Yes, please," T'Challa lifts up your chin slowly. His eyes travel down your lips. He examines your lips before pressing his against yours gently. The kiss is passionate, slow and sensual. Your tongue encaptures his, moving back and forth, making its own beautiful rhythm. He parts from you but you need to feel him again.
"One more question?"
"Wha...hm? Yes, T'Challa?"
"May I take you out on a date?" You cannot help but to grin with glee. Who knew practically stalking....conducting thorough research on this man would ultimately pay off?

My crush on the creators of VLD continues- they understand relationship dynamics so well. There are so many things going on in this show that seem flighty or as if they are bending a character to suit a need that doesn’t fit with who they are, but that’s just not the case. We place our hopes and wishes for characters into these episodes and in the process ignore what canon is telling us. I want to talk about Keith x Team Voltron where this is concerned.
RE: At the Loss of Shiro
Keith’s relationship with the team has been touch and go for the entire show but throughout everything it seemed like things were going well until suddenly they weren’t. The first two seasons are spent building this group into a unit that is able to achieve a great deal in a short amount of time. They find their niche and begin to flow well together so it feels like whiplash when the team turns on Keith in season 3.
It’s implied a significant amount of time lapses between Shiro’s disappearance at the end of season 2 and the beginning of season 3. When we open to s3, the team has recovered from their battle with Zarkon, started gathering allies for the coalition, and have gone through the stages of grieving. Keith on the other hand refuses to accept the loss of Shiro; he’s continually searching for him and is frustrated that the rest of the team has given up. When the time comes to address how they move forward without Shiro, Keith fights it tooth and nail. And when the team finally does get Keith to admit they need a new paladin, it’s under extreme duress. Keith becomes the black paladin, only taking up the mantle because it is what Shiro and the Black Lion chose for him. And when Shiro returns, Keith gladly wants to hand the reins back to him.
While all of this is happening there is a lot of friction between Keith and the team that is upsetting to watch because of how little they trust him. From what Keith has demonstrated, we feel like the team should recognize he has a good head on his shoulders and gets results.
But you know what, this is the most logical scenario when we look at how Keith operates. The overlying problem is that Keith does not take the time to communicate. He thinks on his feet and acts intuitively, leaving everyone behind to follow if they want. “You wanted me to lead Voltron? This is how I lead.”
It is difficult to build trust and respect for someone when they won’t communicate their reasoning and motives, even if the end goal is shared. The team knows Keith can be counted on in a pinch, but they aren’t prepared to trust his instincts because the foundation has not been laid. In the first two seasons there are several instances of Keith seemingly acting brash while the team reals at his decisions when actually Keith is just thinking at a different pace. Off the top of my head:
01x10 where Keith trails a druid to learn about quintessence
01x11 when Keith speeds in to confront Zarkon and protect the Black Lion
02x06 where Keith abandons ship because he thinks Zarkon is tracking them through him
In all of these instances Keith is acting against team member’s wishes, but it’s because he sees something they don’t and won’t take the time to explain himself. During seasons 1 and 2, the team trusts Keith because Shiro does first and Shiro is easy to follow. But with Shiro’s disappearance Keith falls into wildly erratic behavior that catches everyone off guard. Keith is an intensely private person who does not expose his vulnerabilities easily, if at all. He acts brash for weeks while searching for Shiro without explaining why he is so upset so by the time s3 picks up the team is at the end of their rope with Keith. They are trying to move forward, like Shiro would want them to, but Keith won’t let them. So really it’s no surprise when the team questions leader!Keith at every turn. Keith is a good leader, yes, but he’s also a leader who demands trust when he rarely explains himself or gives trusts in return.
RE: Operation Kuron
The team absolutely should have noticed ‘Shiro’ was acting weird right out the gate, but they didn’t until he started lashing out at them specifically for two reasons:
Selfishness-  I’ve said it before and this won’t be the last time I say it:  the members of Team Voltron can be extremely self absorbed. Every. Last. One. Of. Them. Yes most of those ‘other things’ they’re working on are vital to the war effort, but these people all suffer from extreme tunnel vision which means Kuro’s behavior and treatment of Keith slipped through the cracks.
Shiro is their steadfast, unquestioned leader. The team debates with each other a lot throughout the show and I say debate rather than argue because they communicate respectfully with one another. But I could probably count on my fingers the times someone who is not Keith was the first to question Shiro’s opinion- and remember that this crew has been in space for over a year by now.
The team expects Keith, Shiro’s right hand man, to hold him in check, and Keith does a good job of this- questioning Shiro and opening the floor for the rest of the team to chime in. So if Keith isn’t calling Kuro’s strange behavior out, why would they?
Of course, Keith never mentioned this issue to anyone. He’s an overly private person who prefers to deal with problems internally. As far as he’s concerned, the war comes first. What the team needs is a reliable leader; they need Shiro. Calling Shiro into question would be counterproductive; Keith’s job is to support and bolster Shiro because it’s what everyone needs.
Keith clearly knows something is wrong with Shiro and he reacts to it with more erratic behavior and mistrust. So even if the team did notice atypical behavior in this pair, they aren’t going to comment because Shiro is their leader and Keith has been acting wildly for weeks or months- nothing new to see here. Keith is okay with this; he can handle the team turning on him- it’s nothing he hasn’t dealt with before. But Shiro. Shiro is the best option for this universe- Shiro is someone strong and capable, intelligent and fearless, someone people will gladly follow into battle. From Keith’s view, the universe, the team, needs Shiro way more than they will ever need him.
Sidebar: I’ve seen loads of complaints that VLD never gives up emotional moments. Let’s correct this statement- VLD isn’t giving the emotional moments you want to see in your specific pair. Look at Pidge x her family reunions. Keith x long-hair!Shiro. Lance x Allura- when these two are assaulted with Kuro’s aggression they have an open conversation about it between the two of them. We’re not likely to get an emotionally charged, cathartic scene between Keith and anyone and it’s not because they would rather show big robot fights. It’s because 98% of the time, those conversations with Keith do no exist. It’s just not in his character to talk when he could be moving, taking action.
RE: Keith as a Blade of Marmora Member
Back to Keith as the Black Paladin, this is a storyline that I see coming full circle. The first time Keith piloted Black was to save Shiro- a willful hero. The second time was to replace Shiro- a reluctant hero. The third time is likely going to be of his own volition and probably to save Shiro again because Kuro is eliminated and they’ve got to get the real Shiro back.
The team struggling to accept Keith as the head of Voltron is understandable because as I said, Keith acts on instincts and rarely explains his decisions. Trusting and following someone like that is extremely difficult. It’s hard to give something that hasn’t been earned or isn’t even mutual. Additionally, Keith never fully embraced his role as Black Paladin. Keith inherited this mantle at a time of extreme loss, something that has happened to him twice now, and he rejects it. Then when he does lean into it, he’s doing it for Shiro but still not owning his new role.
Keith as Black Paladin is an ongoing story and we have yet to hit the point where Keith welcomes the role. So it absolutely makes sense that he would willfully step down from the position on Shiro’s return even if Shiro was acting really strange. Keith rejects the role continuously, not for lack of skill, but because he hasn’t accepted himself for who he is and what he has to offer, yet.
His time with the BoM is serving him well because it’s giving him that sense of action and agency he needs to feel value. We are seeing him grow into himself, take on more responsibility, going on more solo missions, making more quick decisions that have huge effect. We are seeing him grow into a leader by doing- the best way Keith can learn.
This works well for Keith because he doesn’t have people constantly questioning him, people he feels he has to babysit. It’s him, out in space alone, figuring things out- with the bonus of Kolivan personally grooming him (no pun intended). Keith has proven he’s okay if he comes into harm so long as others are preserved. So removing others from the equation while he learns to be a decision maker and a leader absolutely makes sense.
People who say Keith as a Blade member is a waste of storyline frustrate me.
So yes, the team doesn’t trust Keith and his instincts enough and yes it shouldn’t have taken this long for them to realize something is up with Kuro. But flipside, Keith never took the time to explain anything and had a lot of growing to do.
Summoning @akaiikowrites because she demands this.

How would the paladins, Matt, and Allura react to having a S/O with questionable actions? Like they're courageous and curious, but sometimes they do things that seems a bit suicidal (as in participating in life-death situations). They assure them that they're not suicidal and are doing it just for the thrill of it (You know, Yolo) because "when will there be a chance like this to do this again?"
  Enjoy!
   Shiro:
hewouldn't be too keen on it, obviously.
he'snot too big on breaking rules and going against the plan he had set,so whenever you insist on doing just that, he gets a big mad.
Ithink that's the main thing he feels whenever he sees you beingrebellious – just mad.
andit's not like you don't have the skill or the knowledge to go throughthe plan safely – you did. you were fully capable of doingeverything he set for you. you just chose to take the more dangerousroute.
thereare times when you genuinely come so close to death and you hop outof the mess with a smile on your face as you exclaim, “Was that notawesome?”
andShiro genuinely just looks at you in such bewilderment because howin the hell did I fall in love with somebody so damn rogue?
butthe answer is simple – you were different, and for some reason, hefound himself liking that.
don'task him why. he doesn't know either.
Ican see him going through the plan of action that you and thePaladins are gonna take, and he turns to you with the sternest, mostserious look on his face as he says, “and if you step out of lineonce to go and look at whatever plant is interesting you or whateverit is that is catching your attention, I will hop out the black lionmyself and drag you back to the ship.”
andyou'll just peck his cheek like, “okay!” before gettingdistracted by a rock and ending up nearly getting blown up.
   Keith:
whydo I feel like he'd find it impressive?
ohyeah. maybe because Keith himself is a creature of the roguelifestyle.
knownamongst the people at the Garrison as 'that one kid who bailed,' heknows a thing or two about not following the rules.
sowhenever he finds out that you, too, are a drop out of the Garrisonand a person of the rogue lifestyle yourself, he finds himselfgetting quite impressed.
ofcourse he's still protective over you, and he'd much rather you notthrowyourself into danger, but at least he understands why you do it.
thatdoesn't mean he doesn't scold you whenever you do it, though. youscold him whenever he does it, so it kind of works both ways.
buthe just gets so worried whenever you're ship is suddenly disappearinginto a blast of fire and rocks and such, unknown whether you werestill breathing inside the thing.
youstumble back onto the castle ship with burn marks littering yourarms, but you're grinning and you're telling everyone how you saw awhole other planet whenever you threw yourself into the ball of fire.
Keithwill genuinely just grab your shoulders and drag you into his room, where he will promptly take off any constricting clothing and dab atyou with antiseptic.
   “youlook stressed, Keith.”
“pleasedo not talk to me about stress right now.”
butthen he does it himself, and you're the one dabbing at him withantiseptic and suddenly he realises that you two are quite the oddcouple.
andhe really wouldn't have it any other way.
   Lance:
atfirst, he wouldn't really care. he finds it impressive, actually –something he could show off to people.
“hey, look! my s/o is fearless!” kind of thing, you know?
henever really saw your life actually in danger before. it was simplethings, like squaring up to the leader of the Galra, or parking yourship a little further away than planned, or going into battle withoutarmour.
thiskind of thing was quite impressive to him.
untilyou were suddenly throwing yourself into explosions because well, this is the quickest way to get it done.
hesees your ship disappear behind the explosion and he's screaming intothe ear piece uncontrollably. he's not even making works – he'sjust screeching.
andeverybody else is panicking and yelling along with him, and Shiro istrying to calm everybody down.
butthen suddenly your ship is coming back out of the explosion and yourvoice appears over  the intercoms.
“ISWEAR TO GOD I SAW CAVEMEN IN THERE! GUYS, COME LOOK!”
you'llget back on the ship and Lance will immediately run up to you andjust say, “What the fuck?”
that'sall he has to say. he doesn't know what else could put his emotionsinto words at this moment.
you'lllook at him all confused, genuinely unsure as to why everybody islooking at you so weirdly.
andthen Lance will grab your arm and lead you out of the living area, all while going over the rules he had just made up.
“ohyeah, and nothrowing yourself into explosions.”
   Hunk:
no.oh no. he does not like this one bit.
pleasefollow the rules. Hunk is going into cardiac arrest because you'rebeing rebellious and he doesn't deserve this.
hereally wouldn't find any of it cool. especially since it's you.
noteven the little things. if you go out into a battle, you better haveyour armour on. if you're flying the ship, you better have your seatbelt on.
literally, just follow the rules. that's all he asks.
wheneverhe first noticed you being a little bit on the rebellious side, hewas shocked. he was shocked, and scared and suddenly he was full ofanxiety because he knew what it was like to be friends with someonewho was rebellious as hell and didn't really care about their life.
  KeithKogane, you little shit.
sowhenever he finds out that you, thelove of his life, is just like that – woo. please someone save him.
“doI really have to deal with somebody else who can't follow the rules?they're so simple!”
he'llbe the type of guy to double check everything in your ship is safe, just because he knows that you'll always find some way to break therules and he needs to make sure you can't before he leaves.
healso tries to persuade Shiro to not let you go on missions, butnobody can deny that you're good, so Shiro always says no to Hunk'srequests.
you'reconstantly reassuring him that you're okay and that you know whatyou're doing, but Hunk never believes you.
   Pidge:
“Y/NWHAT THE FUCK GET BACK HERE WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE WE HAD A PLAN!”
becauseyes – Pidge will freak out and there is no stopping that.
herusually calm and collected demeanour would be completely out of thewindow in minutes. one glance at your rebellious addition to theplan, and she's losing her head.
shesees you flying straight towards a Galra ship which is currentlyfiring at you, and she squints just to make sure she's not goingcrazy and that this, in fact, real.
becausewhy the hell wouldyou even think of doing that?
butthen she sees that she is seeing correctly, and she just startsyelling. she's hopping out of her seat, suddenly ignoring all of theGalra ships shooting at her and the other Paladins.
   “SOMEBODYGET Y/N. DAMN IT. NO!”
she'sjust so panicked, and everybody with ears and eyes can tell.
she'llend up flying through the Galra ships in an attempt to get to you.she no longer cares about the state of her lion after this, and she'scompletely ignoring the blasts the poor thing is taking in thismoment.
she'llend up hauling your ship out of the explosion on her own, panic andconfusion being the two most prominent emotions within her at themoment.
onceyou two finally reunite on the castle ship, she is immediatelygrabbing you and checking you for burns or cuts or anything likethat, all the while scolding you like a mother would scold her child.
“areyou stupid? do you know what you just put me through there? I can'tbelieve you. I thought we got past this p3 stupidity.”
she'llfinish her scolding off with a firm kiss on the lips, before pullingand frowning.
   “don'tdo it again.”
   Allura:
  shewould also be screaming.
butit's more out of surprise than anything else. she really didn'texpect you to break formation like that.
she'ssitting in the castle ship, watching your ship the closest just likeshe always does.
whensuddenly you're ship starts breaking formation, and she hears yourhowls of excitement through her ear piece and immediately she justknows whatyou're doing.
youand Allura are both Alteans, and have known each other for a very, very long time. you were put to sleep in the healing pods along withher, meaning 10,000 years have passed – which means you'vebasically been through thick and thin together.
meaningAllura knows full well how rebellious you can be, but she thought shehad helped you out of that stage.
apparentlynot, because you're suddenly hurtling yourself towards a burningship.
shewould start yelling, but she'd also be professional about it. she'dask you what you were doing, but whenever you reply with, “ONLY THEMOST, SWEETIE!” she would start freaking out even more.
youtwo would meet back on the castle ship, and she'd probably hit you onthe side of the head with a newspaper before collapsing in your arms, simply relieved that you were still alive.
“you'resuch an idiot. I thought we got through this. risking your life isn'ta good plan!”
   Matt:
   flusteredboi.
hewouldn't want to tell you off for it, I don't think. like, heobviously doesn't agree with you throwing yourself into every damnexplosion you can, or you leaving the ship in the middle of the nightto go and “explore the galaxy.”
buthe wouldn't want to tell you off for it, because that makes him feellike he's being too protective over you.
sohe wouldn't tell you off, but he would try and drop subtle hints thathe doesn't like you being this overrebellious person.
“so,maybe you should ride with me in my ship today?”
“maybeyou should stay home and help Allura.”
“maybeyou could - I dunno – stay beside me for today's mission?”
youwould dismiss every idea and Matt would never push it too muchbecause they'retheir own person and I need to chill.
itwould take you genuinely getting injured during one of yourspontaneous rampages for him to finally speak up and say something.
he'dbe kneeling by your bedside, trying to fight back tears as hebasically begs you to be more careful, and it would break your heartjust enough for you to apologise and promise to never risk your ownlife again.

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon thoughts
So just like I did with Sun and Moon, I’m going to put out all my thoughts of the game here. It’s going to cover post game and will not be spoiler free so that’s your warning if you still haven’t finished it. However, I’m not going to be touching on things that were the same in Sun and Moon. If you’re that interested in my thoughts, you can check out my post on the main game here and post game here.
My Team:
- I made it my mission to make sure I used as many alolan pokemon as possible this time around considering one of my regrets of my first Sun playthrough was that I didn’t use them enough. My final team ended up being the Rowlet line, the alolan Grimer line, the Noibat line, the Pichu line, the totem Salazzle and a spare spot where I exchanged pokemon that needed evolving through level up.
- Honestly, I don’t really look out for stats and whatever when choosing pokemon but damn most of them were frail af defensively. Like Pichu/Pikachu and Noibat were damn near unusable before they evolved. Because of this, I decided to keep the experience share on but only used refresh for status conditions up until the elite four as opposed to all the time like in Sun at which point I got sick of not using what was one of my favourite features in the game and used it for ages.
Trial + Elite Four Changes:
- So I thought getting all the “harder” sos call ins (the ones that heal and give weather helping conditions) in Sun and Moon was bad but Lana and Kiawe’s trials kicked my damn ass this time around. Like I didn’t even have issues with Kiawe’s trial in Sun and Moon but this time around, just like Lana’s trial, it took me two times to do it. Chances are though a lot of this had to do with having those defensively weak pokemon and not using refresh for the benefits.
- I have mixed feelings about Mallows trial. On the one hand, I liked it a lot more than the original games, but on the other, I still feel like it’s one of the most forgettable.
- As much as I get why they chose Vikavolt for Sophocles’ trial in Sun and Moon, to be honest, I liked Togedemaru a lot better. I also found it cute that you had to go get the Grubbin beforehand.
- I’m glad they actually made it clear that you could fight the other captains in the game considering I didn’t realise you could in Sun and Moon until waaay later than appropriate. However, I don’t think Mina’s trial was the way to do it. They hyped up the fact that Mina was going to have a trial and so much could have been done with it to the point of this feeling like a letdown if I’m honest.
- Honestly? I said this once and I’ll say it again, what was the point of Kahilli? Adding a little scene where she shows you how to use the flying z move does not make her any more relevant. I can understand replacing Hala considering he had said Hau already beat him, but not over her. Like I have nothing against her personally, I just wish they had bothered to do something with her.
- Kukui’s joke about being champion made me smile a little but to be honest, kinda eh about the rival being the champion battle again.
Story Changes:
Lusamine:
- I find it interesting that they really pushed Lusamine being someone with a mental illness that pushed her to become this way as opposed to intentionally negligent like in the original games. I mean it was very heavily implied that Mohn’s disappearance pushed her obsession which pushed her ignoring Gladion and Lillie in the original games, but the dialogue definitely pushed more of a selfish angle as opposed to mentally ill mindset, especially the difference in Gladion’s words.
- I also find it interesting that there’s an implication that Lillie did not know what happened to Mohn in these games. Makes me wonder just how long ago he was taken.
- I have also been spoiled about the fact Mohn visits Aether Foundation when you beat Gladion in the elite four rematch but doesn’t remember any of the family. I haven’t actually seen it but I have mixed feelings about the scene. I understand that this was meant to be a major moment of growth and closure for Lusamine and I’m glad they finally fixed the “You know where he is but never tell Lillie or Gladion” issue I had with the first game, but regardless of what goes down between them, I feel weird knowing that she never gave him the choice to know his kids. Not to mention, does Lillie even know he came? Is Gladion okay with it? It seemed that they deliberately put in how much what happened affected him into these games and yet all we get is a “Are you sure?” from him.
Guzma:
- Him becoming legitimate is everything I wanted. Him disbanding Team Skull in the process, not so much. Like with all the implications that he takes in teens that don’t fit in elsewhere and give them a place to belong, the dissemination as opposed to reforming of the team makes me sad.
- Along with Lillie, I love that you can fight alongside him during the post game.
Ultra Recon Squad + Wormholes:
- It was interesting to have them show up so early. Definitely not what I was expecting.
- I like that Hapu played a role as kahuna in the Necrozma story, even if only small.
- I would have liked more to be done with their world. Like I get not fleshing out every ultra world because that would have been insane, but the one that they made such a big deal about in nearly every trailer? Could have been done. I did like that it had the alternate squad there though.
- Quite frankly, the Necrozma story needed to be fleshed out more. Like it very clearly felt like dlc as opposed to a main difference in the game.
- All up the wormholes are one of the better features in the game. I do have to ask though, are shiny odds increased with them? Because I go 15ish years without even seeing a shiny in my game to suddenly getting one in the first wormhole which is odd to me haha.
Other changes:
- I hate and am terrible at mantine surfing tbh. Like it was cool the first time around and I have the records for Akala and Melemele but it’s going to take forever to get the other two. It actually makes me really sad because I was looking forward to it and just do not enjoy it at all.
- Making it so you can get Vikavolt and Crabominable earlier was a good change.
- Looker showing up made sense right up until he did nothing during the post game in regards to the villains which was just lame. Like I don’t care about his character but honestly? He’s useless in the game.
- As much as I would have also liked a Kommo-o clothing option too, I actuall like the Lurantis one more. Either way though, clothing is still too damn expensive in the game $2M should be enough to buy all the options tbh.
- I feel like the Rotom Loto is too OP considering you can use it any time he looks sad. In saying this, I hate how it pushes you to take pictures every time a pokemon evolves or constantly save or that type of thing. Like don’t get me wrong, I’m one of the seemingly few that thought that the photo club was cute but I’ll do it in my own time. So yeah, at least give us a “Never ask me this again” option.
- Continuing from this, forcing you to do festival plaza stuff on route 8 is not clever, it’s annoying. I didn’t want to use the feature in the first games and I’m only doing it now to get the damn stamp on the passport. Don’t force it haha.
- Pikachu valley was cute but literally what’s the point of the van? Like is it actually possible to get in there? Also I liked that they implied that the famous Pikachu was from there which made it seem like a jab at gossip journalists when that one asked him why he was in alola. Like making fun of the idea that they don’t even know the basics and are just trying to get a scoop makes me smirk.
- The way you choose your starter in these games is cuter, but honestly, the tutorial part of the game is still far too long. I get that there’s new players, but pokemon seriously need to consider putting “I’ve played Pokemon before” options for long time fans so we can skip seeing how to catch pokemon and so on.
- I preferred and was much more emotional about Lillie leaving for Kanto than Gladion.
Post Game
- Once again, I feel as if Looker should have played a larger role.
- I still do not understand them using old Archie and Maxie sprites. Like I get they’re from alternate universes but that doesn’t actually explain why they didn’t just use the ORAS ones.
- On that note, it’s heavily implied that Archie/Maxxie come from the same universe but I don’t see how that would work considering anything one does would just be undone by the other both weather wise and actions wise. So like apart from natural disasters happening, I don’t see their world being much different. But I suppose that’s the point. It could be any world.
- While I get it was post game and hence probably couldn’t take up too much room, I kinda wish they had done something different than what ultimately felt like a battle tree type quest. Like maybe rather than Giovanni bringing them all in, they happen to fall in and you have to do quests to stop them achieving their goals in Alola. So like finding Rayquaza to stop Archie and Maxie or racing to find ultra beasts before Giovanni. I don’t know, I know it’d take too much space up for the creator’s liking but I would have much preferred it.
Random other notes:
- My money is 100% on the first switch game being a gen one or two remake. There’s far too many references to Kanto in this game for the next game not to at least travel to Kanto. Whether or not this means starting back at the 151 is yet to be seen.
- On this note, everyone’s talking about who Hau’s dad is but I want to know who ours is. Is it the gym leader that signed the paper in the room? Probably not considering it’s implied the character knows who their father is and would have referred to them as such. Even less likely is my headcannon that it’s Giovanni as opposed to Surge which is what I see a lot of people guessing.
- I get that they’re going back to the regular method next game so want to leave alola behind, but I still find it strange that they added z crystals but not new alola forms.
- Despite people speculating otherwise, the Kantonian gym was exactly what I was expecting. However, I had hoped that they would have it earlier and it would be kinda like a trick house thing where each time you went, they had a different layout mimicking the Kanto gyms and actually had the trainers have that typing pokemon. So like after the first trial you could enter and it’d be a rock based one, second; a water based one and so on. I do however think that the fact that Ryuki said he wants to be a dragon gym leader will mean that the remakes will either have him take over the dragon trial and set it up as a gym or just 8 gyms in general.
Final thoughts:
This was a good game and improved a lot on parts that people didn’t like about the originals. However, while the story changes in the second half were much appreciated, the first half felt repetitive and drawn out. The game as a whole honestly just made me wish that these were Sun and Moon because the way it was done just makes them feel like dlc. Although in saying this, while it could have been done better, I do think these games were a necessary step to the generation four remakes that I’m still sure are coming out next year (lets face it, I doubt a new generation will be ready by then) and even generation five remakes, and the possibilities it has left for future games excites me.

Do you think Clarke had already subconsciously fallen for Bellamy when she was with Finn and Lexa? It seems like both Finn and Lexa had questioned her about this in an indirect manner.
Short answer: Yes.
Long answer:
The attraction has been there since season 1. That’s for sure. I mean look at her face. They were openly flirting in this scene.
Tumblr media
And Finn saw that too.
I think she started having feelings (in a romantic sense of the word) for Bellamy in season 2. She asked specifically if Finn and Bellamy made it. Twice. She put Bellamy on the same level as her love interest. (Did she ask for Monroe? Sterling? Octavia? No.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She ran through the camp just to get to him and the hug… even Bellamy himself was shocked. Octavia noticed (”There’s something I thought I’d never see.” + her facial expression was also very telling). Damn just rewatch it. Pay a special attention to Clarke’s facial expressions. Compare Bellarke hug to Clarke/Octavia hug - there’s a massive difference.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Clarke still felt guilty for closing the door on Bellamy and Finn. That’s very evident in that scene by the fire in 2x05.  Bellamy offered the understanding to her. “It had to be done.” He made it very clear that he’s not holding it against her, that he understands why she did it. He reassured her she’d done the right thing. And that’s something Clarke needed at that moment. She was kinda on her own in the Mountain. She was suspicious and trying to get out while the others were trying to convince her they’re finally safe. Then she espaced with the knowledge she left them all behind in MW (which is not what happened but I’m pretty sure Clarke thought something like this). And then she reunited with Bellamy and suddenly she was not alone. She got her partner back.
Tumblr media
And then in 2x05-2x08, they were back in their co-leaders mode. They were so in sync…. Since this episode (meaning 2x05) Bellamy is the person she trusts the most. The person who understands the burden of being a leader and carries it with her. She started falling for Bellamy in these episodes. She still had feelings for Finn but she was not exactly “with Finn”. And tbh she wasn’t really with Finn since the moment Raven’d landed on the Earth.
The narrative backs me up in 2x09. Clarke just killed Finn and one of the first things she said to Bellamy in this episode is “I can’t lose you too.” Again, Bellamy is put at the same level as the person she’d said “I love you” to just a few hours ago.L ater in the episode L/xa (sorry guys but thi will show up in the tag anyway since the anon used the correct name) and Clarke had a conversation about leadership and L/xa confided to Clarke a story of her lost lov. Clarke needed to stop the pain. She wanted (and needed) to become a strong stoic leader and make sure she will never have to feel this way again so she built the walls around her heart and emotionally shut herself off. “Love is weakness.” And what is the first thing Clarke did? She sent Bellamy away with the words “I was being weak. It’s worth the risk.” This is Clarke trying to be like L/xa - strong leader devoid of emotions. And what is Clarke’s last line in this episode? “Love is weakness.” Hmmm interesting. So yeah I think she started realizing her feelings for Bellamy in 2x09 and that’s one of the reasons she sent him away.
She realized her mistake pretty fast because basically all episodes of 2b are Clarke being constantly worried about Bellamy (2x11 is the perfect example but it’s literally in every single episode). Yet she never stopped believing in him. She never doubted him. She always believed he would succeed in his mission.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even L/xa saw it and called Clarke out on her feelings for Bellamy. “You care about him.” “I care about all of them.” “Yet you worry about him more.” FUCK EVEN L/XA SAW IT.
“…besides, we lost contact with Bellamy.” she’s blinking the tears back again.
Tumblr media
And their reunion in the tunnels in 2x16? Clarke is speechless, she’s just staring at Bellamy in wonder, blinking the tears back. She’s absolutely stunned, she can finally breathe again, the relief is written all over her face.
Tumblr media
Moving on…. she didn’t tell anyone else but Bellamy that she’s leaving (maybe expect for Monty). She didn’t even tell her mother. Anyways, did she kiss Monty goodbye? No, she didn’t.
Tumblr media
Now for the second part of your question. I’d like to start by saying that Clarke probably spent plenty of time thinking about the delinquents and Bellamy in particular during those 3 months between s2 and s3. Now I’m talking about platonic Bellarke. She thought of him as her partner, friend, co-leader. She thought of him as a person who pulled that lever with her.
And then she finally saw him again when he came to rescue her. He caressed her face and hair and she’s absolutely stunned. She just stared at him with wide eyes. She begged for his life, her voice breaking. She would do absolutely anything - even sacrificing her own life - for him (don’t forget that she didn’t know Roan is taking her to Polis, she thought he’s taking her to Nia who wants to kill her). This scene kills me every damn time because it’s the least platonic shit I’ve ever seen. And Roan noticed (and as the season went on, he kept on noticing).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then everything changed because Roan brought her to Polis and Clarke was forced to play the role of Wanheda, She became a political figure. War was about to happen and Skaikru was in danger. She didn’t trust L/xa at all (for a good reason because obviously L/xa betrayed them before) so she had to stay to make sure L would keep her word AND SHE WASN’T READY TO COME BACK. NOT YET. That’s why she decided to stay in Polis in 3x03. If you watch the final Bellarke scene closely, you can see that the conversation with Bellamy wasn’t easy for her. When he walked away, she had to take a moment to blink back the tears and take a deep breath before she was ready to turn around and be wanheda again.
Tumblr media
Ever since 3x04, she was falling for L/xa. But at the same time, she never stopped having feelings for Bellamy. It IS possible to love two people at the same time. However, I believe Clarke didn’t realize the true nature of her feelings for Bellamy.
One of my favourite scenes ever is definitely their argument in 3x05. I analyzed it in details so you can check that out. Clarke was stunned. She was absolutely crushed. But that scene also kinda woke her up. She was on her own for 3 months, she was isolated from her people in Polis (which is the main reason I’m always saying she was a terrible ambassador) and this argument finally showed her the reality and the consequences of what’s been going on in Arkadia in her absence. She realized she’s not the only one who’s been hurting. She saw how broken Bellamy was. And her being Clarke, she believed her they could fix it all. Together. But she said a few words that triggered Bellamy and he did what he did (again, I talked about it in detail a few months ago).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After the debacle in Arkadia, she focused on playing the role on wanheda again in order to keep her people safe. She was getting closer and closer with L/xa and eventually she fell for her…. and we all know how that played out. After Jake, Wells and Finn, she lost another person she loved. At that time, that was all she could think abou. Everything happened so fast and then there was the flame, Titus, Murphy… she didn’t have time to think about anything, let alone her feelings. She was overwhelmed. Her feelings for Bellamy were still buried inside of her, without her realizing it.
The Bellarke reunion in 3x11 is interesting for many reasons. Clarke’s expression can be interpreted in many ways but I think she’s mostly shocked she sees Bellamy, relieved he’s alive and relatively well (she had to blink to make sure he’s really standing there in front of her) but she was also scared. She didn’t know where they stood because the last time they saw each other he handcuffed her and she tazed him.
Tumblr media
3b was about finding their way back to each other and Bellamy realizing his feelings for Clarke. Yes, I think that at this point Bellamy is aware of his feelings for Clarke. Clarke on the other hand is not but the feelings are definitely there and have been since season 2. Those feelings never disappeared and I hope we’ll get to see Clarke bringing these feeling back on the surface and becoming aware of them.
