You should watch "Tsukasas theory of happiness" by zen and the "Pierrot" animation by setsumi.22 on yt! to be frank they both made me tear up a bit lol, but id like to hear your thoughts! theyre both very nice and i think the lyrics fit tsukasa well!

Ooooh, I've seen those two videos and yeah, I'm not just tearing up, the tears ran down my cheeks (>︿<｡)

The lyrics for Ayano Koufuku Riron and Pierrot definitely suit Tsukasa, and I like how much focus the Ayano Koufuku Riron animation has for Saki, Toya, and Tsukasa's dynamic pre-main story because it's definitely related to how Tsukasa forgot his true feelings (three of MMJ members forgot their true feelings due to painful experiences, and the double combo of sad Saki and Toya might be that for middle schooler Tsukasa). But the ending of Tsukasa fighting alone in Ayano Koufuku Riron might probably be a metaphor of how difficult for him to open up about his insecurities and negative emotions because he wants everyone to keep smiling ala Emu-style, just with more success.

I also like how the Pierrot animation have Saki comforting Tsukasa instead of WxS, because that right there is his little sister who canonically noticed how lonely Tsukasa was before he met WxS. And speaking of forcing a smile, the fact that Saki also did that when she's hospitalized and then telling Tsukasa that she'll cry with him in the animation is just beautiful. Saki is healing, and she wants Tsukasa to heal too. It really tracks with their canon solo storyline, but I think Tsukasa only wants to cry tears of happiness in front of Saki. Other than that, he'll probably try to hide them as much as he can from her.

Also, my impossible wishlist is a Tsukasa & WxS!Miku cover of Kimi no Kamisama ni Naritai because the lyrics just fits.

Like, I think it fits Tsukasa with Saki and Toya! Just Tsukasa wanting to make them happy and well, but in the end Saki and Toya managed to do that just fine without him. And even though it hurts he still wants to be by their side and protect them. Not only for his relationship with Saki and Toya, it also fits with how Tsukasa looks at himself? Even though he's confident, he has worries of never being enough, and yet he keeps shooting higher so he can make others smile. If Kanade got a duet with Niigo!Miku AND a solo for Inochi ni Kirawareteiru why can't we get the same for Tsukasa's Kimi no Kamisama ni Naritai?? Please colopale, sega........

PERSONA 3 RELOAD TRAILER SPOILERS AHEAD

as promised, i am typing up my thoughts about reload with in depth discussion on the 2 most recent trailers. i'll put that in a read more - but before that, a disclaimer: first of all, these are my own thoughts and opinions and i will not be debating anyone about anything subjective i say. second of all, i'm only discussing the most recent 2 trailers because the other ones make me unreasonably angry so i might be missing stuff. anyways.

as a persona 3 fan, i havent necessarily been excited about reload for so many reasons i wont really be going into, but these new trailers have given me some amount of hope, and i will just be mostly ignoring the glaring issues.

some things almost definitely confirmed by the two most recent trailers as well as the demo they had at the sega event the other day:

3 physical attack types confirmed to still be in the game. this is a good thing

kouha and eiha have been added to the light and dark skill set, but no evidence of nuke or psy. this is an okay thing (im glad no nuke or psy - they have no real place in the game. but i dont necessarily think that ken and koro needed to deal damage because theyre both op as shit anyways if you build them right) (this might need fact checking, but i saw several people saying it, so)

despite prior claims, there is in fact fes content in reload. "the answer" may not be in it, but there IS fes content. so it's less original persona 3 as claimed and more the journey without the answer, fes edition. we know this for certain because a fes/portable exclusive scene is shown in the character trailer (mitsuru calling the cops because she thinks junpei's room has been burgled, as seen in the hidden cameras, an fes/portable exclusive feature)

new outfits that have been affectionately dubbed "tacticool" by my brother, and i will be using that phrasing to refer to it from now on. tacticool outfits are not an immediate addition - the old armbands do exist in the game for some amount of time. from trailer analysis, i've concluded that SEES switches to the tacticool outfits after fuuka joins but before aigis does, presumably at the same meeting where fuuka is asked to join. tacticool outfits standardly include the new armband, which is uniquely numbered to each character - minato is 3, and i've been able to catch junpei's number as 5. if anyone can figure out the other numbers, let me know i'm so curious. they also include a new coat and 3 magazine clips, which (speculatively) probably mean an evoker upgrade at the same time, possibly to be able to shoot shadows - though i'm not sure how well this would work as bullets would be pierce damage and almost entirely defeat the point of ever using aigis

we got clips of the additional male teammate "scenes", which i'm very excited about. it's confirmed they wont be social links, but they will have moments with minato, which is all i've ever wanted.

the demo apparently includes a version of baton pass, which is. fine. sure. i can deal with that

new ost/battle music which i am withholding judgment on until i can hear the full thing

dlc outfits - p4 uniform, p5 uniform, and phantom thieves outfits which look ugly as hell on the persona 3 characters and do not match the vibes at all thanks atlus. why does junpei still wear his hat

when a battle ends with an all out attack, the initiating character gets an end screen like in persona 5. we've only seen minato's thus far, though

TACTICOOL OUTFITS - IN DEPTH

now imagine if you will that i spent like an hour watching a two minute trailer because i care about these outfits so hard so i am going to describe my thoughts about them in so much detail

as i said earlier i think these come hand in hand with some sort of evoker mechanic upgrade/change, and theyre only introduced after fuuka

if i had to guess, the armbands are numbered with mitsuru as 1, akihiko 2, minato 3, yukari 4, junpei 5, and so on

they all have SHEATHES for their weapons which is sick as hell as well as everyone wearing some form of glove which is also sick as hell!!!

mitsuru has a cape. this is the most amazing thing that could have ever happened ever, and i support her in her cape endeavors

fuuka has a tactical poncho and headset (probably to make it more clear how she's speaking to everyone), but no clear evidence of having an armband. if she did have one, i'm pretty sure it'd be covered up by her poncho, so ??? but it's it's possible that only the fighting members of SEES get the new armband

ken with the oversized coat is so sick. i cannot even begin to stress how cool i think this 10 year old is. atlus was like would you like the world's sickest 10 year old with a sick ass coat and im EATING IT UP

Sexuality Headcanon: ohhh gay absolutely. though I see a lot of people hc him as bisexual too and I also think thats so awesome :)

Gender Headcanon: trans guy who is SO gnc. I've always seen him as being so open and proud about his sexuality and gender but its like. DOUBLY so for his gender he's just so unapologetic about being transgender and being trans and his own way and he's going to make sure the world knows it

A ship I have with said character: s/nkn/xadow admittedly. All three dynamics really appeal to me and have so much going for them when it comes to parallels and opposites and also just being silly and fun. but only the dynamics in my head and in canon literally everyone is wrong about the s/nadow dynamic because they want to make both characters into flat fanfiction tropes and want to make it out to be more special than it is and theyre just so generally annoying about it that it comes off like i hate it but really im just really picky and hate the fandom version of it. i think they are silly. s/nknux (NOT THE MOVIE VERSION) however is the world though it is that deep. if I talk about them in depth though this post is going to get so long so ill leave it at that. but also shipping isn't that serious. unrelated to actually shipping but i hc that most of his friends and rivals (THAT ARE CLOSE TO HIS AGE) have had crushes on sonic at some point i think its really silly to the point of being a bit. everyone sitting at a table like raise your hand if youve crushed on sonic at some point and all these hands go up and sonic like "uh. did i do that."

A BROTP I have with said character: SONIC AND TAILS FRRRR SEGA PLEAAAASE let them act like actual brothers in game like tails isnt just his sidekick tails is sonics BROTHER they are each others most important person. they live together they mess with each other they hold prank contests that will go in history books they know almost everything about each other. they found each other when they were orphans and are both each others first friend and first family. people talk about how much that means to tails but it means just as much to sonic

A NOTP I have with said character: all the gross stuff but especially shoutout to s/namy oh my god can everyone shut the fuck up about it being "basically canon" SHES 12 YOU FUCKERS SHES 12!!!!!!!!ITS UNREQUITED OH MY GOD SHES 12!!!!!!! Other than that uhhhh... m/tonic and s/nourge like sorry metal fucking hates him and scourge is literally Him from another dimension thats weird. stop.

A random headcanon: OOOOO well I know sonic being an orphan is pretty much canon but i have to say i just LOVE the idea of sonic being an orphan and VERY much an outcast growing up (something something tails parallels). he ran away from whoever was raising him (and probably raising other orphans) at a pretty young age and his powers didn't make it hard to avoid other adults and stuff like school and stuff. anyways long story short he pretty much didnt have anything except for what he stole and pulled together for himself-- he gave himself his own name (transgender) and everything. I'm just a big sucker for heroes who have the craziest powers and have become the most powerful people around but come from the most humble origins and at the end of the day they're just another person like us.

General Opinion over said character: HE'S MY BEST FRIEND!!! He's EVERYONES best friend like i promise you if sonic was real he would be your friend and make you feel special and awesome because he is so nice and friendly. god i wish sonic was real the world needs a sonic so bad

I CANT BELIEVE IVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS BEFORE???

Its called Silhouette Mirage and its a shooter platformer mix which is basically all genres i suck at, lol. But i love the designs and concepts!!

Its about a post-humanity sort of fantasy sci fi world? Its populated by two races of basically angels and demons (or "silhouettes and mirages"), but they were created via sci fi stuff? A computer created by the last humans in order to preserve their memory after their death is like the god of this new world. And it analyzed human society and decided to create to create two "necessary aspects" to make a more successful society. But the first being they created was torn apart by the conflict of its two sides, and became armageddon for the last remaining remnants of humanity, before physically splitting into two. Now those two are opposing brothers leading factions in this divided society, and they threaten to destroy this new world too with their petty rivalry. You play as the supercomputer's long awaited finally calculated solution to its own problem, an actually perfected silhouette-mirage fusion who is awakened from a pod and told that your destiny is the "messenger of destruction and creation" who can create ultimate peace! But you kinda dont know anything about anything thats going on, so will you make the right choices...?

NOW COME ON MAN THATS A FABULOUS STORYYYYYYYYY

And what's really neat is that they made the gameplay actually integrate with it! The main character Shyna's design is literally colour-mirrored down the middle and she has angel wings as her right ear and devil as her left. So she looks more like each race depending on the direction she's facing, and her powers and weaknesses change accordingly! Its a really great idea that takes advantage of the 2d perspective! And they didnt even just make it so that you can only beat the bosses by using the rigjt element, instead using the same element can drain their magic meter so there's many different strategies to fight!

And man from what ive seen the bosses are AMAZING?! there's.one where you fight on a giant tilting soup bowl and have to shoot the right stuff to pick ingredients. And one where the boss fight pisses off the neighbours and they throw boots and tvs out the window til eventually the weight is too much and it collapses the platform. I like that, it adds a lot to the world to see casual silhouettes and mirages just living their life in the background, like not literally every person on this planet is part of the war. Makes me think it must be so melancholy cute and i just wanna see daily life anime about these guys. Like seriously they're all malfunctioning artificial lifeforms just born into the shell of a world made for someone else, trying to create a new society for themselves and figure out what all this stuff is for. And fighting over which ideas are better. I mean is it any wonder we have stuff like a frogman obsessed with 80s punk or a giant crazy cookery arena? All the madness makes sense as people fanning over whatever silly human memorabilia they found in the dead cities of their creators.

OH OH OH and this game also had queer representation in the sega saturn era, holy shit! There's this rival character called zopha i think? And they're an earlier model of the fusion between both races, instead of looking like both at once they have to transform between full forms of them. And they're also genderfluid, and each form reflects that! I like it especially cos its very subtle and totally free of any sort of negative stereotyping. Both their genders look very similar aside from colourscheme, how their long hair falls around their shoulders, and the facial expressions being drawn with sharper grumpy eyes or with mascara and lipstick. Either way femme zopha and butch zopha are both still a badass knight in robo armour, woo! I barely even know anything about this character yet and i already love them!!! Goals to the extreme!! And apparantly theyre a well intentioned antihero type of rival who's also working for the same goal but thinks you're one of the villains so you end up infighting instead of teaming up. Please say you do team up in the end, right???
