honestly, im just trying to figure out who flapjack actually belongs to. i know its been accepted by now that he must have belonged to wittebro for him to partner up with Hunter (resembles him, lineage, etc.), but what about wittebro’s wife?
like, if the bird palisman tradition with the clawthornes went generations before wittebro married in, it would make sense for his wife to have a bird palisman first when they meet. so if that palisman happens to be flapjack, and spent a lot of time with wittebro, he would know his name and Hunter’s resemblance to him.
Also because from what I know, it seems that Dell is from the Clawthorne clan based on what he says about their family being really good at carving. but at the same time, Gwendolyn has a hawk palisman and I’m not sure if it would have been a coincidence for her to have a bird palisman by the time they marry, or if this is just a small inconsistency, idk.
on the OTHER hand, i also like the idea of flapjack being carved by wittebro (assuming he can carve since he made phillip's mask). Dell mentioned carving runs in their family, and if wittebro had something to do with it, it makes sense. AND, all the bird palismen we've seen so far with the Clawthornes usually resemble real birds from the human realm, not particularly leaning to the monsters in the demon realm (Dell and Hunter's Cardinals, Gwen's Eagle, Raven and Owl for Lilith and Eda), so I figured this could be like combining two things from the demon and human realms, palismen in the shape of normal birds? also, it would set up a good plot point for how wittebro gets accustomed to the boiling isles and their customs, and juxtaposes with Belos’ attempts to eradicate it.
so yeah. just my thoughts, since we dont really see any solid confirmation of Flapjack's relationship with wittebro from Belos' memories (especially since its from Belos' POV, so maybe wittebro was hiding it from his brother that much 😬).
I also like the idea of Luz having a bat palisman from a myth I remember reading. I know the message is different, but I kept thinking like, oh yeah bats can fly but theyre not birds, just like how luz wants to be a witch but is still human, or how shes an honorary clawthorne? just based on the bird palisman pattern, but idk.

Recently, the Disney channel’s Tiktok has posted the storyboard / animatic for the season two intro… so it’s time to over analyze another storyboard.
SPOILERS INCLUDED!!!
In the beginning, everything seems to be about the same but simplified, until we get to Eda. Instead of her normal outfit, she has what seems to be sleeves with a dress, which looks quite a bit like the outfit she wears in one of the recent season 2 promos (I apologize for not remembering which one and being to lazy to check). I’m assuming this is the outfit she’s going to start wearing when she joins that emperors coven rebellion that was talked about in a future episode description. Eda also seems to have the ring she gave to Lilith in the grudgby episode on again, meaning if this outfit is used again later, we could get a sweet moment between the Clawthorne sisters, since Lilith kept the ring. I don’t know for sure, but I thought it was a noticeable difference. It took me a few rewatches to notice, but in the final version, King’s skull is still broken on the tip, unlike the storyboard where it’s glued back on.
Another small but notable difference is Gus’ expression. In the final cut he has a smirk while the storyboard shows him with a huge smile. This could be because the smile seemed a bit too childish, and the smirk kind of shows a change in maturity from the first season to the second. Something I found interesting, was the difference in clothing from Willow to Amity. Willow, unlike the others in what I like to call the “Disney Best Friend Squad”, has her everyday outfit on, rather then her school outfit like Amity and Gus (Luz obvious has her normal outfit cause she’s the main character). At first I assumed it was just to make storyboarding easier and they chose Willow’s everyday outfit to figure out how to move the ribbon she had on, but Amity has a necklace that moves almost that same amount of frames as Willow’s ribbon. This could mean that Willow will / might have had more scenes then the others in season 2, but based on the route the show is taking, I honestly doubt it.
Then we move into the frames with Lilith, Golden Guard, and Kikimora. Their poses are a lot more simple and less hostile/cute (depending on what character you’re looking at). This could be to simplify the drawing, but I personally doubt that… though I can’t come up with an explanation to combat it. The next frame with the three of them though, is very interesting. Lilith for one, seems a lot less “woe is me” and a lot more “what have I done?”. I personally like the storyboard pose better, but compared to the others final designs, it makes sense why they changed it since it’s a lot less dramatic then the others. It also seems to look like the Golden Guard had a different character design when making this… but now this is what I’m most curious about… what is Kikimora holding? It seems to be something of great importance and power, and I find it interesting the purple glow is some of the only color used in the entire storyboard. I immediately thought back to the stones used in Amphibia that each signify Anne, Marcy, or Sasha, but it’s very unlikely this is the case. I’m assuming we’ll find out what the stone is in this season though, and hopefully we find out soon. ALSO I know this is in both the final cut and the original, but I want to know more about what and who Kikimora is. Like those eyes alone are creepily cool. Another thing I noticed about the differences is the storyboard takes these three characters poses from calm to dramatic while the final version has about the same energy. I was wondering why the coven head circles weren’t on the storyboard… like you would think of it was because of a timing thing they would at least draw circles… but it doesn’t even have the same background, it instead has a wooden frame.
After that, everything seems to be normal, though I would be interested to know more about the x’s and other little notes they added. I didn’t really noticed them until I slowed down the video though. They could be symbolizing the background or movements, but when comparing the clips to the final version, it didn’t really make sense to me.
Side note: why is storyboard amity hot too🧍‍♀️
