it kinda all started when theo was 9. these three immortal doctors , nicknamed the dread doctors (the surgeon, the geneticist, and the pathologist), chose him to be their experiment. he honestly didnt really know what was going on (thats what he told stiles and i believe him) they chose him because the dread doctors wanted to create chimeras they wanted to Make People Supernatural using science (they're only immortal bc they figured out a way. they were obsessed with it. also theres a reason why they wanted chimeras.) anyway. theo was the first. they picked theo. and to be a supernatural chimera you have to be a genetic chimera. two sets of dna. this can come from skin grafts, organ transplants, etc. theo had an older sister, Tara. idk how much older maybe 11-13 . they used to play by this creek that has a bridge over it in the woods. the story goes is that she froze to death in the creek, she fell in (or was pushed) and broke her leg and couldn't climb out. they didnt find her in time. It was the coldest night of the year, she got hypothermic. There's a flashback of young theo looking down at the creek while tara looks up and holds her hand out for him and he just watches. no flashback of him pushing her, no flashback of her falling. he probably doesn't remember because the dread doctors take memories of your time with them. or maybe it's just trauma. he seriously didn't know what was happening. annyyywayy. the dread doctors took her heart, and preformed open heart surgery on a 9 yr old. they put her heart into his chest. saw a brief flashback of this. idk what happened to his parents. i do know he probably didnt live with them anymore, or they died(maybe killed), or moved. because he stopped going to school with scott and stiles. and they didnt see him for years. like 8 years if he's 17 in season 5. they practically raised him. groomed him even. the surgery was . obviously without anesthesia, hes definitely awake, there is no where to sleep in the tunnels the dread doctors are in, no clue what kinda food he ate. so it's pretty clear that the part where theo says he wants a pack wasnt a lie. he was probably lonely. he was the only chimera for aWHILE. anyway the dread doctors did all kinds  of experiments on him to make him supernatural(half werewolf half werecoyote), all the terrible mistreatment the chimeras got in s5 (the mercury poisoning, the pain, the discomfort, the horrifying realization you're a monster now) is what theo got, and younger. he's regarded as the first success because he didnt die like the other chimeras did (when he returned to beacon hills and they picked new ones) but the dread doctors, after theo stood up to them (ish), called him a "true failure" we can talk ab that one later.
that is literally so fucked up what were the teen wolf showrunners ON????

stranger things! you’ve written for byler I see, how about that?
GODBLESS. GOD SENT. A CHANCE TO RANT ABOUT BYLER TO SOMEONE NOT THAT INTO IT.
What made you ship it?
GOOD QUESTION. AHEM. i had watched season 1 and 2 of stranger things with my mom, as the seasons had came out. aged 9/10. i knew nothing else besides the main boys were funny and i liked the soundtrack. season 3 came out after i had turned 12. i have a little more fandom experience under my belt at this point. i'm older. I KNOW THINGS. my mom watched s3 without me. so i binge it ALL. from 6AM to sometime in the afternoon. WHEN I TELL YOU THAT THE RAIN FIGHT CHANGED MY ENTIRE LIFE LIKE. WILL come on you can't leave it's raining. listen i said i was sorry alright. it's a cool campaign it's really cool we're just not in the mood right now. YEAH MIKE that's the problem you guys are never in the mood anymore. you're ruining our party THATS NOT TRUE. yeah? where's dustin right now? ... SEE you don't know and you don't even care and obviously he doesn't either and I DONT BLAME HIM. you're destorying everything for What. so you can swap spit with some stupid girl? ELS NOT STUPID ITS NOT MY FAULT YOU DONT LIKE GIRLS........ i'm not trying to be a jerk. ok? but we're not kids anymore. i mean what did you think? really. that we were never gonna get girlfriends? that we were gonna sit in my basement all day and play games for the rest of our lives? ... yeah. i guess i did. i reallt did.
sorry idk what happened ....... something possessed me......
2. What are your favorite things about the ship?
WILL LOVES HIM!!!! HE LOVES HIM SO MUCH THAT HE WOULD LET HIM GO SO HE COULD BE HAPPY WITH EL!!!! BUT MIKE IS NOT HAPPY WITH EL!!!!!!!! LISTEN TO MEEEE HES NOT HAPPY. WITH. EL. HES HAPPY WITH WILL. WILL NEEDS MIKE AND MIKE WANTS WILL I CANT EXPLAIN IT BETTER THAN THAT.
3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
i don't rlly know . OH. when byler is endgame in s5? yah it's not gonna be angsty. i know it in my soul. like the first kiss isn't gonna be angsty, maybe there's going to be angst AROUND the relationship BEFOREHAND because mike and el still haven't explicitly broken up but mike and will's developing relationship will be a place of fluff and softness in the coming storm 🙏🏼🙏🏼

hello! note-taking anon here! It's been a while. Ive been MIA for the last couple months, but have still been watching eps of the show. I dont recall where I was the last time i sent you an update, but I'm a couple eps into s15 now. I feel like i'm at the point where it feels like the concept of s15 is excellent. God being the narrator and the villian is a fantastic escalation and i'm really looking forward to seeing where that goes (right until they fumble it in the 11th hour). I also think the conflict thats existing between cas and dean about chuck's control over their lives is one of the best in the show. Neither of them are wrong--they just have different perspectives that cant coexist--and its so much more compelling than miscommunication or fetch quests. I'm hopeful we see more from sam, as the last few eps have been fairly quiet on his perspective of things. I know a few more of the story beats for s15, but im still in the dark about quite a few things. And, if theres any solace, buckleming still has just as horrible pacing and timing problems as ever, while simultaneously giving dean some of the most heartbreaking and raw lines in the show. Duality, i suppose.
I hope youve been doing as well as you can be 💞
OH HELLO! I'm glad you're still watching, and honestly relieved you already know where they drop the ball entirely, because yeah, the rest of s15 is incredible.
I love the conflict between Dean and Cas, because it's like Cas came to terms with his complete loss of faith in Chuck way back during the original apocalypse in s5. It even makes his failure to have a true reconciliation with Chuck in s11 make even more sense. I know a lot of folks were disappointed Cas never got to give Chuck a piece of his mind back in s11, and were angry that it was Metatron and Lucifer who seemed to get more of a reconciliation or at least acknowledgement of their grievances if not an apology from Chuck, but Chuck was never going to apologize. He wasn't going to "come around" and understand or see their point of view or truly apologize or change his behavior, you know? He's a universal constant. He created the universe, and he doesn't want it to change. He's mad that these puny humans won't do his will. Poor jerk :'D
But yeah, Dean had never had any reason to doubt his own free will. It was often the only thing he ever felt confident nobody could take from him-- including his GED and that six bucks he had that one time, you know? And unlike Cas who spent billions of years not even understanding free will at all before finally beginning to learn that maybe it was something he could have for himself, Dean had never known or believed that anything could have as much control over his life and choices.
Once Cas had fought for his identity, his free will, HIMSELF as he came to be, nobody-- not even Chuck-- could take that from him.
Dean's identity, himself, everything he is-- that had never been directly challenged. Not even when he was a demon. Not even when he was possessed by Michael. He still knew himself, believed himself, and always came through battered but intact with his own identity. Chuck... his s15 goal with Dean is to crush that belief in himself. To drive him to such lengths of desperation that he would be willing to sacrifice even what he loved to bring an end to the torment. In all of Supernatural, it was the ONE thing that Dean had never questioned or feared the loss of. Existential crisis ahoy.
And Cas just... couldn't understand it. This person he used as a role model in forming his own identity and free will... and Dean had been cut adrift from that certainty. And Dean couldn't understand how Cas could just be seemingly okay with all of that. It's a beautiful reconciliation, but it only gets partially resolved by the end of the series >.>
But at least you already knew that lol :'D
It was good to hear from you, and I'm glad you're still watching! Write back when you can. I look forward to your thoughts :)

My 15x19 Opinion
Inherit The Earth
I’m not going to say this was a great episode overall, but it wasn’t bad, and the ending was beautiful! I almost wish it had been the series finale because I loved the Running on Empty montage and my boys smiling as they ride into the sunset, but Id ikely say the episode itself wasnt sufficiently satisfying as the final episode of the longest running genre show in history, but as a season finale, it was pretty good!
We begin with Dean meeting up with Sam and Jack, and Dean tells them about Cas. Im glad Dean didn’t shed anymore tears or dwell on it, but Im bothered by Sam not showing any emotion. Had Sam been upset, then it would have looked like he valued their friendship even if Cas obviously didn’t, but now it just kinda looks like neither cared much. I feel a little bad for the Sastiel shippers tbh
Now in true Sam Winchester fashion, Sam puts all the blame on himself that the whole world is gone because he “screwed up” and I felt really bad for him, but I know the Winchesters, and they’ll figure it out.
Dean finding the dog was adorable. I always get warm fuzzies when the boys get cute with animals! Big bad lethal hunters get all soft and smooshy for bunnies and doggies and watch funny kitten videos! I liked Dean telling the dog maybe Sam will let him sleep in his bed!
Back at the Bunker, the boys wake up the following morning. Sam and his coffee, sleepless Jack in his PJs and Dean hungover on the floor. Dean wakes up and gets a call, Now I want a show of hands for everyone who did like I did ok?
(Dean’s phone rings and he answers it}
Cas :Dean open the door Im hurt Me: Oh COME ON!! SERIOUSLY? (Dean answers the door) Lucifer: 😆 Me: YAAAY LUCIFER!!
That was me.. admit it, was it you too? I’ve never been happy to see Lucifer till then LOL
So we get the book, theres a new Death (she was funny btw) Michael comes,  Death 3.0 dies, stil no one can read the book, yada yada yada Mike kills Lucifer (seriously? 3 people have killed Lucifer and none of them were SAM!! Grrrrr)
So Sam and Dean meet up with Chuck, I got a kick out of him asking if they were “enjoyng some alone time?” Chuck doesnt just ship the Wincest, he wrote it *snicker*  Dean pleads to have everything put back to how it was, he says he’ll kill Sam or Sam kill him or they’ll kill each other, whatever but Chuck declines.
Now we move on to casting the “spell” out by the lake (obviously where they filmed Bravealecki lol) and Chuck comes to end them I have to say,, watching the boys getting pummled was hard, but it really did my soul some good to see them keep getting up get beat down, get back up, and then ultimately, hold each other up 💕💕💕 I loved their beaten faces, smiling through the blood, yeah Chuck, you lost!
Now, Im glad they didn’t kill Chuck, I didnt think anyone was going to kil him anyway, but I did think he’d be redeemed, instead, they surprize me again and Chuck lives but now is just human. Good call!
Jack being the “New God” is iffy to me if I like it. I’m gad he got a good end, Sam stood by him from day 1 that he was worth saving, and he was. But ruler of the Universe? Ehhhhh not a fan, but at least he does have Amara with him. His goodbye was a little cheesy but Sam looked sad “What if we want to see you?” I mean, he’s letting his only son just go away forever... that hurts.
So the boys are home now, not social distancing AT ALL hehe. and after we salute those lost along the way, Sam and Dean take in the fact that they’re finallly free to be Sam and Dean and they like that. Dean gives Sam the most awesome side hug ever, and Sam makes the cutest face!! Just kil me with brolove please!!
Now the perfect song for their recap montage, Runnin’ on Empty!!  Of course I cried, did you think I wouldn’t?
Overall it was good and I enjoyed watching it a 2nd time already. Im let down some by still not knowing why Sam was in the book, why theyve brought up Sam and Dean being Mike and Lucifer’s vessles every season since 11 and not put closure to it. I mean we dont need a grand puppet show, but something for closure, Mike and Luci asking again and almost winning and thge boys giving a final no? Chuck saying he doesnt even want them as the vessels anyhmore? How about why the Hell he wanted them in the first place? I mean it was a big deal just to get John and Mary together so that Sam and Dean would be born, and Id be fine with it ending when s5 ended, but they brought it back up in 11 and kept reminding us every season after so..... wtf?
Anyway I did like it, even with the issues so on a scale of Bloodlines to Lebanon I’ll give this one an 8.5.
Next week is it folks and I already miss them. I hope with all my soul the boys end up together, and I hope that TPTB were smart when they had JDM and Sam Smith together last season that they took some time to film a Heavenly Winchester Reunion and have been very tight lipped about it. It would be so easy and so awesome!! I doubt they were that smart so just keep my boys together thats all I ask!!
If the end sucks I wont even bother with a recap and wont likely be on Tumblr anymore at least for a while, so.. lets pray it doesnt suck!

I try to get back in the Lost fandom, and after about a hour they make me remember why I left it.
I hate season 6. I didn’t like how the character developpement went , if there was even any in the last season, really. The female character ( and Jin) were all trap in this mother/pregancy plot that went nowhere. Wich I found disgusting, because that was their only involvement in the mysteries of the show. By the way, If the theory about Juliet being the one who made the Island deadly for pregant woman is true than it disgusting. She didn’t deserve that. She was kidnapped on the Island for her medical talent, force to watch for about 3 year woman dying in childbirth, when she is told she is the only one who can save them. All of that so we can be told she is actually responsible for their death anyway. For trying to blow a N-bomb in a plot she was forced to participate anyway. That’s disgusting! And I don’t like how the fandom eat it up, because they think it’s tragic and poetic irony or some shit like that.
How many insane mother trope existed in this show? Bitch be crazy just for the drama and looking creepy. It sexist and ableist, there is even a character who just exist to be name Mother, and abuse her kids. And poor Claire! I was waiting for an episode that explain what happen to her during the 3 year of being trap alone in the Island, but she just became a crazy mom plot device,  who Kate want to force raise her biological child because she feel guilty of having adopting him.
Charlie’s death was emotional but make no sense, and Ana Lucia, Shanon and Lybie death was just sexist. Michael writing was racist. You made a black man entire plot to get his son back a meme in s2. Then, in s4 you turn force him into becoming a servant to a bunch of rich white man, the bad guy of the show, where he play the role of the janitor of another group of bad guy’s boat, where he is force to create a bomb to save his friend in the island. And at the end, he end up sacrifying himself to save his friend again, but before this, another white baddie basicaly tell him his life isn’t needed anymore. Great. There was another black man whose character existed  just to look scary and mysterious and then he die randomly. At least we had Mr Eko, but the actor didn’t want to stay after s3.
And Sayid, our handsome iraqi, he was a murderer in s5,  a murderer in s6, and die like a terrorist in the same season. Thats all he did, and then he realised his great love was Shanon, because the writer blame his past action on his obssession over his dead wife, but being with the white woman made him better or something. Even through when this one die, like with Nadya, he started torturing and killing during his revenge quest. It’s kind of like his problem are within himself, and not link to with the character he is having sex with.
Jin and Sun death was so dumb. And honestly, their death had no impact on me because I could see them alive in the flashsideway. Watching the character we know living a normal life in Limbo cut any feeling I could have about them dying on the Island. Because they are all dead anyway. That and all the random slaughter that happen this season does not make me believe life is meaningful unless your a main character.
I don’t care about Lucifer and War being brother, who are so bored of the Island  they started playing games with human lives to see who will survive and help them, because Lucifer want a successor and War want to get laid. Like I seriously just wanted Sam and Dean to came out and kill them, it would have made the show a hundred times better! Or Jack realizing they are all in the bad place since the begining, and War and Lucifer just lauging at their face because they are just gonna reboot everything, and they will be force to revive this hell again, lol. 100% better!
Watching season 5, I was really expecting a showdown between the established villain of the story, Benjamin and Widemore. But nope, we get to random dude with godlike abilities telling us about the purpose of the story and the character. Making everything black and white. Having  themes spell out to us, like we didn’t know. Ok writer...
Charlotte should have live!

the magicians for the tv ask game
my all-time ultimate fave character: oh this is so hard. aaaah it’s really a tie between margo, quentin, and eliot fasjdf but if i had to choose, quentin
a character I didn’t used to like but now do: i don’t have any i disliked and started to like but i guess i was kinda neutral on fogg and now i like him he’s a mood. oh same w fen & josh. neutral and then liking.
a character I used to like but now don’t: i dont knooow if i have one???
a character I’m indifferent about: charlton. why. i just want to know why. or james, julias boyfriend from s1 like fajdsfsf
a character who deserved better: QUENTIN COLDWATER. also eliot like whyd they do all that to him fasjdfasdf.
a ship I’ve never been able to get into: quentin/alice i literally do Not care i will Never care stop showing them to me i don’t give a singular fuck oh my god. let her be a lesbian, let him go live his life with eliot stop making me witness them being mean to each other over stupid shit i swear-
a ship I’ve never been able to get over: quentin/eliot ofc
a cute, low-key ship: margo/josh is so very cute
an unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it: i cannot say my true thoughts here but uuuh ig eliot/idri is p unpopular in that no one really cares about it but they had so many rights
a ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened: eliot/charlton. im sorry but literally why. thats just fasdfdf its just insulting frankly like.............. why.
my favorite storyline/moment: we ALL know my answer’s gonna be the mosaic timeline. fucked me up. other than that i also really loved margo’s storyline in the desert
a storyline that never should have been written: quentin [redacted]. and also quentin/alice getting back together before quentin [redacted]. and also like all of season 5.
my first thoughts on the show: “idk it’s kinda cheesy idk if i’ll be able to get into this” sees a gifset on my dash months later of eliot dancing half naked in a desert singing “okay well thats fine then im gonna watch this entire show immediately thanks”
my thoughts now: s5 does not exist to me it’s not there and you cannot convince me it happened. a genuinely pretty good show in comparison to a lot of shows i’ve seen? i have a Lot of complaints w the way quentin and eliot were handled and some other things but like i genuinely do love the show it has a special place in my heart. as shitty as it ended it’s like one of the first times i’ve seen gay characters integrated so well into a genre i actually care about without making their entire storyline hinge on that OR making it just a throwaway thing which was very, very nice & a step in the right direction that got ruined by all the other shit that happened w quentin and eliot. also i’m hyperfixating on it, currently, so there’s that fjasdfjk;ldfs
send me a tv series and i’ll tell you...

what are you favorite top degrassi seasons?
This question is so difficult!! I’m serious I spent an hour writing down all the seasons and weighing all the pro’s and con’s of each season to figure out the order I would put these in. I know you didn’t ask me to rank all the seasons and tell you why I think that… but I am… because I feel like it… so let’s move from the worst to the best shall we?
18. Season 11 - I hated it the first time I watched it. I hated it the second time I watched it. I don’t plan on sitting through the whole thing ever again. I loved the introduction of Zaya and that is about it. I didn’t ship anything. This was the season that made me stop shipping Eclare which I literally used to OTP so hard.
17. Season 13 - This was the only season that I ever completely stopped watching because I was so bored. I was still nursing my heartbreak over losing Cam and then all of a sudden they ripped Adam from me too. After that I tried to keep up but I just didn’t really care because it hurt too much. Maya was moving on with Miles (which I still don’t get the appeal) and Zig was all but forgotten up until halfway through. The Paris plot was so stupid. And Alli one of my favorite girls was being uncharacteristically dumb (and she’s not very bright as it is). And to top it all off they gave Clare cancer for about 10 episodes then all of a sudden she was better! (I’m not even gonna mention Ew… I mean Clew) Lol no. Bye.
16. Season 14 - 14B just swooped in and saved the entire show for me. After the longest hiatus the show has ever had and about a year and a half after me only watching this show when I noticed it was on, the promise of seeing Alli Bhandari and Clare Edwards graduating was just enough to pull me back in. So before 14B I binge-watched season 13 and the first half of 14 (because I didnt really pay attention the first time) and BOY IT CHANGED MY LIFE. Not because the storylines were good but BECAUSE. OF. ZAYA. Never in my life had I gone from hating a ship (yeah yeah Zig was trying to break up Camaya so I hated him) to thinking it was the most well built pairing on the show. The rest of 14 was crap though. Zoe forcing people to send boob pics = dumb. Clare’s baby plot = dumber. So yeah I fell in love with Degrassi again because of Zaya and it’s probably the reason I’m here today.
15. Season 1 - Shocked to find what started it all so low on the list? Yeah me too but that’s the way the cookie crumbles. Overall not much happened this season. It built the world that we left behind in Degrassi High over again and introduced us to the new generation and thats about it. But Sean and Emma’s first date, Emma’s first period, and the ecstasy plot = CLASSIC DEGRASSI.
14. Season 8 - No one is surprised. Honestly though I LOVEEE this era of Degrassi. This was the first season I watched from beginning to end as it was airing so it will always hold a special place in my heart. Not only did I instantly love Alli and Clare to bits, but finally my all time favorite character Johnny DiMarco had an actual girlfriend and showed that he actually has real feelings. WOW.
13. Season 9 - Yeah this is only a step up from season 8 because it was the epitome of Dolly J. The chemistry was through the roof. One of the hottest couples Degrassi has ever had. Plus this season had MORE JOHNNY so yeah I loved it but not a huge amount of hot topics were covered.
12. DNC Season 2 - It covered hot topics but it didn’t really have that spark. I think since it was made at the same time as DNC season 1 that they put so much effort into making the first half great so it could attract more people but yeah it was a bummer. Honestly the only reason it’s above s8&9 is because of the reunion episode and the Craig Manning appearance… I appreciate them attempting the Black Lives Matter plot but it didn’t get me in the gut. I much preferred the Connor and Dallas racism plot in season 13 even if it wasn’t fully fleshed out.
11. Season 10 - This was when Degrassi reinvented itself for the first time and I must say it had me hooked from the beginning. This was when they started airing an episode a day for several weeks and it was so exciting. Everyone was falling for Eclare. And Adam was stealing everyone’s heart. It was so exciting and different and really a breath of fresh air. Were the plots amazing and jaw dropping? No not really but it kept me super entertained and frankly saved the show and I will gladly give the credit where credit is due. But seriously… Eli was better when he was with Morty just sayin…
10. DNC Season 1 - This was the second time that Degrassi reinvented itself and it was MUCH better done than season 10 was. After being so scared of losing the show altogether, seeing the beginning of Next Class really gave me hope. The cast was smaller and so were the lengths of the seasons but they worked so much harder to really make all the plots count and make every minute of screentime the best it could possibly be. After 4 seasons of really long seasons full of random plots that didnt always make the most sense, watching this season felt like coming home to the Degrassi that I fell in love with because for the first time in a long time they really cared about making EVERY plot the best it could possibly be. They still had a couple of kinks and issues to work out but this season really felt like it “went there” again.
9. Season 5 - The first time ever watching the characters you’ve grown up with graduate from Degrassi is one of the hardest things. DTNG’s 100th episode and S5 finale, High Fidelity will still make me cry at the drop of a hat. Watching Paige, Ellie, Marco, and Hazel graduate and thinking that you’ll never see them again still hurts me so much. And the scene where Jimmy forgives Spinner - SO MANY TEARS. Also this season gave us the iconic Manny line “You can sell this for a million dollars because I’m gonna be famous.” Also Darcy and Spinner’s Christianity plot still hold such a special place in my heart.
8. Season 6 - This season was a rollercoaster. One minute I’m flipping out over Sean and Emma being back together then the most heartbreaking TV death in the history of TV ripped my heart out. To this day I cannot watch Rock This Town without bawling my eyes out. I mourned for JT as if I had grown up with him myself. No other fictional character has ever made me feel emotions that were THAT REAL before. As sad as it was it was the moment that sealed Degrassi as my favorite show of all time and even though it’s been 9 years nothing else has even come close.
7. Season 7 - Probably the darkest season the show has ever had. It began with Darcy’s rape and then followed her entire journey throughout the whole semester. On top of that we see Spinner reach the darkest place he has ever been when he gets cancer. And boy this season was just so sad. Especially with the addition of all the Lakehurst kids who we’d eventually learn to love like Holly J, Jane, Sav and Anya. On top of that we get to see Emma, Manny, Liberty, Toby, Spinner, and Jimmy graduate which really was a LONG time coming. These were the people who began the show and now that they were leaving it truly was the end of the Golden Era of Degrassi.
6. Season 4 - This was the season that showed how dark the show could really get and it ultimately proved that Degrassi would “go there.” The fact that still to this day one of the most well known pieces of information about Degrassi is that Jimmy got shot by Rick truly iconic. It’s impossible for me to watch Time Stands Still without getting chills. Also this season featured Kevin Smith and who doesn’t love Kevin Smith.
(to be fair these top 5 are all pretty equal in my eyes and the order in which they come changes frequently)
5. DNC Season 3 - The first thing to note about this season is that it was released at 2am in the morning and I stayed up all night and watched the sunrise because I simply had to finish it all in one sitting. After s14 I was sure that the days of Degrassi’s fantastic seasons were through with and when Next Class began I thought there may be potential but this season went above and beyond all of my expectations. For one MAYA MATLIN. I cannot sing enough praises to the writers for treating her depression and suicide attempt in such a realistic way. And Lola’s abortion plot was the best one they have ever done and was handled in the most beautiful way. This season truly was the darkest season since season 7 and everything about it was So. On. Point.
4. Season 3 - Some of the best and most iconic episodes are from this season and they are the ones that time and time again I find myself rewatching because they never get old. Father Figure, Pride, Holiday, Accidents Will Happen, Take On Me, and Rock & Roll High School all have a solid place on my favorite episodes ever list. This season helped to build Degrassi into the longstanding and iconic show that it has become. During this season we no longer had to introduce characters and get used to them. By now we knew most of our main cast and they instantly felt like family - a concept that is the single most important reason why Degrassi is my favorite show ever.
3. DNC Season 4 - Even though it just came out, I could not imagine putting it any lower on this list. This season accomplished everything I could have possibly wanted and more. The genderfluid plot was so well done and it is something I’ve wanted the show to cover for years. And it tackled terrorism and Islamophobia. Not to mention that this season bid adieu to possibly my favorite graduating class that the show has ever had. It gave each and every one of them the respect and closure that they deserved while not granting any unrealistic and too good to be true endgames (*cough* Eclare). The season focused on the characters themselves and not just their romantic relationships and it really solidified who they have become as people and how much they have grown. And best of all it opened the door for a newer class to come in and keep the show going strong.
2. Season 12 - Wow this season came out of nowhere. In the midst of 2 of the worst seasons Degrassi has ever had was this gem. What made it stand out is that for once the writers went into the season with a plan of where they were going and where they wanted the characters to end up. The entire season was building to Cam’s suicide and how all the characters would be affected by it. Therefore this season had more direction and meaning that many seasons before it were severely lacking. Not only was the over arching plot of this season fantastic, the smaller pieces of it were as well. I was so invested in Campbell Saunders from the moment he showed up on my screen. His relationship with Maya became one of my favorites the show has ever done and it also made me love Maya as a character. This season was also the epitome of Eclare’s relationship for me. They were healthy and in love and finally on the same page (well until Bitter Sweet Symphony). We also had fantastic ships like Fimogen, Drianca, Jatie, Jonnor, and the beginnings of Bhandallas to pass the time. And another one of my favorite Christianity plots featuring Jenna took place in this season. This season’s success caught me by complete surprised and drew me in when I was beginning to not care about the show anymore. More specifically Campbell Saunders and Dylan Everrett’s acting saved Degrassi for me. Without that character I don’t know if I would still be watching the show. His character made me believe that Degrassi still had the ability to make me feel these emotions that other TV shows can’t and therefore this season holds such a special place in my heart.
1. Season 2 - The first time I watched it I did not realize that this would be my favorite season ever. Because to me this season is the Degrassi essentials. It is the bare bones of what makes this show great in every way. Craig’s introduction in When Doves Cry will forever be the greatest introduction to a character I’ve ever seen. It’s so rare to meet a new character and become so drawn in and attached in a single hour that it blew me away. Degrassi introducing Craig as a new character in the season premiere and showing him having an abusive parent was absolutely heartbreaking. To be honest the first time I watched it I didnt understand. I was too young to fully grasp the magnitude of how important this episode was but it was. Moving forward, this season also went on to introduce Marco and Ellie and cover Paige’s rape which was the first time Degrassi truly “went there.” Another personal unsung favorite of mine is Don’t Believe The Hype that shows Hazel’s struggle to accept her heritage and it’s the first plot covering Islamophobia. And how could I possibly not mention one of the most iconic episodes to date, White Wedding that features Spike and Snake getting married with most of their old Degrassi High friends in attendance. This episode also features the cutest most adorable first kiss between Sean and Emma that stole my heart in season 1 but gained OTP status by season 2. In essence, season 2 is the heart of Degrassi.

When the antis for KC come calling...
So, @morleybell got an ask on the above topic, and I wanted to reply to it,but it got too long so I thought I’d make it into its own post. So the question was what to reply to antis who claim Klaroline is abusive.
Here goes :
Not even in the fandom since s5(never in tumblr!tvd fandom like ever) but I do skim the tag every once in a while. Came across your post, loved the general gist of it, but would like to add some and clear up some stuff you passionately stated in bulk😆, if you don’t mind. I’ve been wanting to get this out for a long time.
I think the crux of this whole matter is an element which is called a ‘morally grey character’ ; you know the ones - not entirely a villian but too twisted to be a traditional hero. Obviously there are naysayers who say Klaus doesn’t fit into the mold of someone w/ grey morality, hey haters gonna hate but the jury’s still out on that one apparently even though it’s obvious. Moving On. More on this later.
• agree with the SC part. If one looks at the whole picture from the start, Caroline got shitted upon and shoved to side by the writers and her supposed ‘friends’ right from the start in favour of Elena even by stefan. The afterthought. The girl every new male addition to the cast(not all but close) hooked up with. The secondary character whose romantic plot usually has their fan going “uhmmm not exactly the one I’d choose for her. This is just settling” because hey!one needs to fill up the episode, right? Who cares if she was a second choice?
For me, Klaroline came in at that part of the plot, where I was just about tearing my hair apart because the MF gang were really pissing me off. Caroline was never a priority, everyone was willing to let her be collateral damage in this ever revolving war against elena, she was just supposed to accept that her best friend is dating her assaulter. I mean I get that she is the cornucopia of giving, but thats what friends are for! To make these givers realise that enough is enough, now think about yourself, make yourself a priority. The Caroline I fell in love with initially, the one with the big dreams, the one who wanted to live live to the fullest, explore the entire world because yes embracing vampirism gave her that opportunity….That Girl was entirely diminished by the end. There’s growing up and having responsibilities and then there’s having to grow up because of not-their-doing responsibilities. Klaus had come in a AT THAT CRUCIAL POINT. I remember thinking ‘yesss, she’s a priority for once’ also ‘idc if this relationship works out or not, but this one can be her ticket and reason to move out of that soul-sucking selfish town and friends’
• IT’S A SUPERNATURAL SHOW. This. Funny and irritating why people forget this. The show depicts them as these all encompassing, good in combat and strategy, well versed in lore of the centuries, sensual, blood-drinking vampires…I’m afraid that goes hand in hand with blood and sex and murder and deceit. If you want a century old virgin goody two shoes, I believe you’re in the wrong franchise. For this show, its not about who is good and who is bad, it’s about who is evil and who is more evil, and that too is relative on how you define evil/what you consider evil. Also what’s blatant in this fandom, is the hypocrisy. This is what I wanted to especially expound upon :
So what irritates me about the fans the most is their hypocrisy. Also the puritan fanaticism some have embraced and loudly preached. I wont even include DE and Damon in my arguments, i think they’ve been discussed at length by all (like it deserves to be) this is better explained with Stefan. When people say Klaus is a mass murderer and has killed soooo many people over the years, ergo klaus is evil but stefan is my innocent bae(not verbatim but the intent is obvious)…. conveniently forgetting the fact that stefan killed so many people too, went ripper twice, in his 300(?) yrs…had he lived as long as klaus lived…who know whether the number would have risen or not (hint : it will)Imagine living on and on for so many years, the world around you changing, civilisations changing, people you loved dying, but you’re set in stone. Immortality has been romanticised like all get go, but realistically I can’t imagine someone not going absolute nutters every once in a while whether or not you have a reason to keep living on. The show has shown only the positive sides of Stefan and his dealing with vampirism which in turn makes him appealing, but I can’t imagine someone with Stefan’s characterisation - the broodiness and the guilt - would live a long innocent life. Psychologically, something will always make him crack. I know I’m coming across as someone who hates Stefan which is simply not true. S1-3 Stefan and S1-4 Caroline were my absolute faves. Believe me, I only watched the show until then for these two. But I realised we do excuse his murders w/ - he didn’t want to, he feels guilty, he repented, it’s out of his control. But ultimately clinically speaking(with my inner stefan fan supressed)…There were dead bodies. Families mourned. Lives were taken. Stefan regretted it yes, but it doesn’t give them their life back. None of these vampire’s victims (Salvatore’s, Mikaelsons’,Forbes’) are coming back. Why do we not still hate stefan or any 'good side’ vampires for that, but love to do it to the Mikaelsons?
Second thing I mentioned was puritanism. Simply put, this goes in the good box ; this goes in the baaaad box. Some people differentiate characters like - this is a good person(can do no wrong) and this is a bad person(be suspicious of this one’s dealings ) from the initial interactions and context of the show. Characters on the 'Good’ side in the start, are reveled for doing 'a thing’ ; but if a potentially grey character from the 'Bad’ side does the same 'thing’ they are jeered upon for doing it. Am I saying don’t point out and jeer evil wrongdoings of evil characters? NO. I’m not trying to be apologist for villains, most deserve what we throw at them. BUT But but, in this case, on this show, is the line differentiating them really that clear? Are these 'good’ and 'bad’ characters exclusively on those sides? Like you mentioned, Kol is killed, Klaus retaliates. Had a sibling from the 'good ’ side been killed by the Mikaelsons, pretty sure they’d have retaliated the same way. We cheer one but jeer the other? Why? The deed is the same, cruel and inhuman on both accounts, yet we celebrate one and mourn other?
What people instantly think when I say this, 'you’re probably a person who excuses abuse in real life too’'you believe this…you must be horrid in real life’….*shrugging* A. There is a clear divide between fiction and reality. one I have to actually live in and the other is entertainment. Damn sure I can differentiate between them. B. There is an actual sense is not automatically trusting the NiceGuy, everyone has flaws if you look hard enough, they’re gonna come out eventually I’d rather not be lulled in a false sense of security. I’m not saying The Mikaelsons are good people and they just need some lurrvvve and understanding. What I’m saying is the Mikaelsons are shitty. But so are the Salvatores. So is Elena. And sometimes so is Caroline. If its just fiction, isn’t it hypocritical thay we only hold few accountable, but excuse the behaviour of the rest?
When people say KC is 'abusive’ I always take in with the idea that it’s because Klaus is heartless mass murderer. Which he is. There’s no going around that. He IS NOT a good guy. That stabbing didn’t really make sense to me…why did he do it? But tyler’s mum yeah…if you can excuse the council for their behaviour, don’t be a hypocrite please when the favor is returned. On a completely different but still related note, this is similar to the bullying topic in HP. When it comes to being bullies for whatever reason, people easily excuse the marauders because ultimately they were on the 'light’ side. But draco is held accountable even though he was technically younger than james. But back on the topic at hand.
But KC? Like you provided the lines and to anyone who watched the show….Caroline was not impressed by him. Attracted to him?Sure. But she never acted on it at all until 5×11. She kept questioning his motives, was suspicious of his moves, never defended his actions, brought up his misdeeds to him when he tried to pretend to be a good guy, tried to sneakily gain favours from him utilising his interest in her, it goes on and on. You never hear a single praise for him from her lips (as far as I can remember) All she did was that she gave him a benefit of doubt. Try to understand his motives rather than just IDENTIFY. EVIL. KILL. Try to understand that someone who has lived this long, what goes on thay ancient head, did he ever want to be human? , how does he justify his misdeeds? But Was it enough? Well canonically, apparatently not.
And I get it. I’m not saying excuse the murders by the Mikaelson’s too. NO. I’m saying hold all of them responsible. Caroline. Stefan. Damon. Klaus. And then critic the characters after that. Don’t claim some sort of moral high ground when there isn’t any.
This show, these writers…when given enough screen time, they could redeem an irredeemable villain of their choosing. Seriously, for real. (Damon gets it but Katherine or Kai(this one would need toooo much work) doesnt) and people lap it up. Basically, it’s on the writers on who they choose to get to be the GoodGuy, which villian gets forgiveness for the misdeeds even though the other villains did the same thing. I don’t watch TO but I’m sure they gave 'reasons’ and 'backstory’ on why Klaus behaves the way he does. I mean if you think in a critical analysis sort of way, that is how a redemption arc works. You get to know the inner workings and history of the protag and what experiences made them the person they are, then it’s upto the audience whether or not they forgive them.
But I digress. What is the main point of this entirely too long rant, is that saying KC is abusive is just absurd. Not on this show, not in this context. If its klaus that is your problem, you better have a problem w/ the rest of the lot too. Also he is the one guy who was the only one who asked Caroline whether she would like the cure instead, didn’t use her solely to get to elena, prioritised her, didn’t think Caroline’s love to plan and shop and everything that does not scream stereotypical intelligent girl as shallow and superficial, gave her plenty opportunities to make something more out of her life if she wanted with or WITHOUT HIM. If she wanted to fly free alone for a decade or even a century or two, go for it as long she came back to him when she’s had her fill. Yeah, that just screams abusive and controlling to me😒
Bottom line anti kcs, I’m sorry you wanted this to be a black and white clear issue so you justify your hate. But it’s simply not. I’m not saying KC IS an angelic done-no-evil ship, but when ships all around are pirates, what’s another one,eh.
Also, might as well reiterate, I haven’t seen the show after 4×22, just kept up w/ the show from a lot of different shipper’s (SE, KC and SC shippers too unfortunately) blogs and my sister who watches the show, so I might be off w/ some of the facts. If any of them are blatantly obvious and it’s because I missed something crucial in the remaining seasons I’m tagging the people I’ve seen answering KC qs or were active in their KC defense so this post is refined @my-ownfairytale @klarolinedrabbles @jonsnowbitch

what're your thoughts on the magicians finale?
I’m going to put this under the cut because i’m going to end up rambling i think and also a lot of the finale is really heavy topics
So i have a lot of feelings about this finale and take a whole lot of issue the more i think about it tbh these are my takes on things (please dont come at me or anything everyone has different opinions and experiences)
first, julia. once again any choice she had was taken away from her. julia deserves so much better than being used as the gods pawn and than having her decisions made for her. I don’t know if Penny 23 made the decision he did for her because its what he thought his julia would want or what. he has known this julia all of 5 minutes when you think about it. i was so happy to see she got magic back seeing as that was her biggest point on not being human. now this goes into my other thoughts on the finale with q. the fact that she only got her magic back or the ability to do magic because q died. as if the pain of q gave her the ability to do magic. yes i know magic comes from pain but what i mean is the writers made it that q’s ‘sacrifice’ benefited julia by being so incredibly painful she was able to do magic. julia just lost her best friend she wasn't there but she knows him through and through.
oh boy Q. I saw theories he would die but i really didn’t want to think about it. frankly i had hoped the writers wouldnt be so fucking stupid. killing the main characters isn’t good writing i dont care what their reasoning is. honestly its giving me flashbacks from the 100 s3 clarke and lexa. the 100 writers killing lexa just after her and clarke got together there is a whole host of issues there but the comparison with the queer ship being killed is too much. im waiting for the fandom to implode like the 100′s did and still is. there are some things fans and fandom do not come back from and honestly, this is it. the clear and present disrespect. killing q when the entire fucking season was all about q getting el back at any cost by any means and then THEY DONT EVEN GET TO TALK NOTHING NO MOMENT NO NOTHING NOT EVEN A LOOK??
can you imagine el waking up in the hospital say a few days after alice had told them all what happened and i would assume it was margo so happy he was alive but had to be the one to tell el that q was dead. can you fucking imagine fighting to come back and the last time el saw q was after he realized what he ran from that he wanted to be brave to have a shot together and he was brave and did fight to let q know he was still fucking there. then he wakes up no monsters to be seen and no q too. it breaks my heart. (im making myself cry to be honest.)
Q was the reason i started watching the show in the first place. i stayed for the other characters particularly fen. for writers who say they care about the side characters they sure dont mean it do they? my case in point being having fen and josh overthrown 300 years before el and margo return fucking off-screen. are you kidding me. now maybe s5 will show more of that idk.
I hated the last bit where penny says to q that’ everything all falls away and you are just you’ is so hurtful. the implications that death/suicide somehow fixes everything for everyone! NO! that his death that q going through the door means he is free of his mental illness is so incredibly wrong to imply. because thats the thought right? that death will end all the pain thats the point and they just flat said it. and to top it all off everyone gained something from q’s death. they gained their lives free of monsters. julia’s pain gave her the ability to do magic. alice and q got together for .3 seconds and now she has no one again she lost q again. its all so wrong how they left the characters with the loss of q (to make it realistic well way to turn this into fillory folks this place turned out to be not what i thought it was)
speaking of how the characters lost q... how they filmed an alternate ending and the cast didnt know that this was truly the end... i havent looked into it to see how much is really true and whats going on i have tried to distance myself from a lot of it but if its true that is so incredibly rude and unprofessional and such a dick fucking move. to me that is wrong and completely breaks any trust. i was glad this was planned with jason for a decent amount of time and not sprung on him but still it was sprung on everyone else and no.
i haven’t cried that hard over a character’s death since jasper jordan in the 100. and q was given a much better and acknowledged send-off. Q knew doing magic could do that in the mirror world. then as soon as he is with penny he starts to question if it was sacrifice or suicide. its all wrong to me that it had to come to this as if q saying he would die to get el back isnt some sort of contemplating death? i have a lot of questions on this and none of them will be answered as to its purpose and what it all means because its based of anyone's perspective of the character's arc itself.
i could honeslty go on but i wont... im not happy q is dead and not coming back. im really pissed that queliot the most popular ship on the show (i dont think im wrong on that?) never had a damn fucking chance in the light of day that isnt in one single episode of 50 years. i wanted with all my shipper heart for queliot to talk to have anything to just be and end up with less than nothing. to kill a character with mental health issues someone a lot of the fans relate to in that manner then i think at least handle the issue so poorly in the aftermath by actually discussing what it was and then saying the last time we see him oh dont worry all the bad stuff is gone and you can just be yourself .

@noxbait asked:
What do you think Sam meant when he said "same circumstances I wouldn’t" in s9?
This has been a topic of debate since it happened. So much drama and confusion, both on the show and within the fandom. It was a very sad time indeed. Samgirls think Sam means that he wouldn't let an Angel possess Dean if he was dying, and Deangirls think Sam was just trying to hurt Dean because he was mad at him, and some think he actually meant, he wouldn't try to save Dean’s life period, which everyone with an IQ over 20 that has watched the show knows that isn't true.  Well, I don't believe either answer is correct, and I’ll tell you why.
I think the answer is much clearer if you don't assume Sam is talking about the possession, but about Dean talking him out of closing the gates of Hell. I won't argue that Sam is angry about Dean tricking him into being possessed, but that’s not the focus of this argument. It starts when Dean tells Sam that he saved his hide back there (at the spa) and at the church, and at the hospital, and he'd do it again. Sam says that's what the problem is, Dean thinks he’s his brother his Savior who has to swoop in and save him and he thinks its the right thing to do but it's not. Kevin is dead, Crowley is in the wind and they're no closer to solving the Angel problem. Sam asks “Tell me, what is the UPSIDE of me being alive?”
Of course for Dean, it’s the simple fact that Sam isn't dead. For Sam, had he died, none of these things would be a problem.  This isn't “Had you not gotten me possessed” its “Had you let me die...”
As we saw in S5, Sam is a martyr. He is willing to die to save the world. Now Dean is a martyr also, but he had yet to give his life up for the world. For Sam yes, he has died for Sam, but not for the world. When Sam chose to sacrifice himself in S5, Dean was very reluctant, but he didn't try to stop him, so for Dean to try to stop him now, in Sacrifice, Sam feels like theyre not on the same page anymore and he basically said this in Sharp Teeth. They don't see eye to eye on their roles in this anymore, so when Dean says “If the situation was reversed, and I was dying, you’d do the same thing” Sam is responding “No Dean I wouldn't, Same circumstances ( you giving your life to save the world) I wouldn't”
Now, this still sounds OOC for Sam, doesn’t it? But it's not. First, we know Dean took what he said the wrong way, as though Sam wouldnt save his life period, But Sam has done it many times before. and even went over and beyond the call of duty even when he couldn't save him.  In S10 Sam tells Dean “I can’t lose you” and Dean says “Did you change your mind on that? Cause thats not what you said before” and Sam says “You know I didn't mean.....” all while Sam is Hell-bent on saving Deans life the entire season. ( I will get to Deans death scene in s9 “I thought you were cool with this?” “I lied” at the end of this essay if you're still awake) However, when we start off S11, Sam reasserts that they have to stop doing this. They need to stop saving each other at the expense of the world and the lives of others, so he talks Dean into doing his thing, save the girl and the baby, but he needs to let Sam do his thing, put his life on the line to save the world.
Fast forward to the mid season of s11, and we have Lucifer confronting Sam on the same issue. He thinks he’s gone soft.  He’s telling Sam he doesn't have the balls anymore to make a great sacrifice for the world and he cant stand to lose Dean again, Sam disagrees and Lucifer says “Then why did you let Dean talk you out of closing the gates of Hell? Cause the old Sam wouldn't have that, not ever. And then we come to Sam’s big moment, telling Lucifer what's what, but I think we all get hung up on Sam saying he’s not ready to be his bitch, and not paying much attention to what he says before that “Im ready to die, Im ready to watch the people I love (Dean) die”. Yes, at that point, Sam was willing to let Dean die to save the world if it was necessary and he proved this in 11.23 when he made no argument about Dean being the soul bomb. Of course, he was upset about it, but he didn't try to talk him out of it. So, Sam was being honest when he said “Same circumstances (if you're trying to save the world) I wouldn't”
Now, Sam is never gonna do that again, as we saw in Prophet and Loss. Enough of this dying alone bullshit. He’s gung ho now on “If we die, then we do that together too” (Unfinished Business)
Now the problem of Dean’s death scene in 9.23 “I thought you were cool with this” “I lied” , 2 things need to be said about this. Jared said at a panel after s9 that he was supposed to say “I didnt think it would go this way” but forgot his line, said “I lied” and they kept it. Also, it was in response to their argument in the trailer park earlier in the episode. Dean tells Sam he’s gonna take down Metatron and’ Sam says “I know” and Dean says “No matter the consequences” and Sam says “I know” so he’s cool with Deans plan to take down Metatron no matter the consequences, but there he was trying to save Dean instead of letting him stay there to try to keep fighting.
Sorry it was winded but I hope this sheds new light on a long-debated topic
Thank you Noxie!!
