LGBTQ+ headcanons

Since it is pride month, I'll share my lgbtq+ headcanons for my verses! :)

*Slight TW for dysphoria and misgendering

** Slight aot spoilers

Canon

Since most of aot takes place in the middle ages, I don't think that there are labels for sexualities. Hence this is why Armin doesn't label his sexuality

But despite that, he's probably pansexual. His heart just chooses anyone, no matter their appearance or gender

His first crush was definitely Eren when they were kids. Though, back then, he only heard of hetero relationships, and therefore never realized he was in love with him

Now he knows he can fall in love with the opposite gender, but he isn't really embarrassed by it. Pretty much all of the corps accepted him for his gender, so why wouldn't they for his sexuality?

Speaking of

Armin is trans!

He realized not long after he befriended Eren. Like, he never truly felt like a girl, and once he met him, he was like ‘oh I think I’m actually a boy’. Both his parents and grandpa were really chill with it, and allowed him to change his name

After the fall of Shiganshina, its gets harder though. Puberty is coming up, and his status as a refugee doesn’t allow him to change anything about his official documents

Thus even when in the corps, he is still registered by his deadname. Luckily, the corps is very tolerant about lgbtq+ people and calls him by the right name and gender.

And Hange omgg,,,

Hange is like his mentor when it comes to being trans. Like they help him through most of puberty, guide him into binding, and act as a shoulder to cry on when dysphoria gets too much

When he gets older, he finally gets his hair cut. Mikasa does it for him, and he cried when seeing the result

He even gets top surgery done by one of the corps doctors. Due to his titan healing, the scars are barely visible. His friends celebrate his surgery by going to the beach, where he can finally be shirtless

Medstudent verse

In the modern, medstudent verse, he is also afab, but identifies more as a demi boy

Though he uses he/they, he still embraces a bit of his femininity. Like he never went on T, and keeps his hair at chin lengt. Doesn’t mean that he won’t kick you in the face if you call him girly.

Once he even grew his hair out to his shoulders, and wore it in a braid for a long time

He’s saving up for top surgery

He realized and came out when he was 15. His friends and grandpa were accepting, but his peers weren’t all that friendly. So to make it short, his high school years weren’t too great.

So he was very thankful for the open community his university has. Hell, he’s even the president of the lgbtq+ student group

He’s pansexual here too

Most of his friends are queer too, so he serves as a mentor for them. He’s so caring for everyone, he almost forgets to take care of himself as well...

...Which is how he sometimes ends up hospitalized when he stresses his heart too much

Ok to start off with, the exposition was really good, you've set the tone and introduced the Ackerman family really beautifully. When I read it initially the fact that Levi did not want a family or to get married was quite emphasised upon to me, and I'm really looking forward for the inevitable development and how his view changes as the chapters go on. I also love how you introduced Farlan and Isabel, and lightly touched upon how they met, you didnt go into too much detail and I really like that, it kept me focused on the actual story itself, which is about Levi and not Farlan. And Farlan wanting tto marry her 😢😢. I think it's really really sweet and I cant wait to see more of them. I love it so much.

The transition from setting the scene to their father being poisoned was not something I was expecting and made me go oh shit he dead. Part of me felt like it was moving too quick, but the other part of me loved the shock factor of it since it happened so suddenly. I didnt think of it as too big of an issue though, it was still enjoyable to read.

The whole encounter with the peasant guy made me wonder just how many more people there are like him, that dislike the Ackermans and would try to kill them. And whether y/n would be one of them. Also I got a bit confused as to who was speaking whether it was Farlan or Levi, but I read the sentence again and it was fine, I understood, so maybe I was just being a dumb bitch.

Oooh a quick point Levi sympathising with the criminal was really touching and made me feel warm and gooey. It shows that hes not a dick and does actually care about his people. But it also shows he has clear boundaries and is really firm. He will make a great leader in the future.
