my job drives me crazy but if nothing else im really glad it’s given me an opportunity to meet so many dogs and to learn so much about dogs in general. they’re really my favorite animal lol

#i think a lot of our customers like me because they can tell i genuinely love and care deeply about their dogs #even the ones that drive me nuts! lol #they are my babies. one of them had a seizure at my job and my coworker ran to get me bc she didn’t know what to do #and i talked to her and told her she was ok and carried her out to dad. bc we learned she couldn’t stand or walk #anyway she made a full recovery and since then she just loves me #every time i see her i sit with her and pet her lol she’s sooo sweet #they’re just so sensitive and intuitive! i love animals i’m so happy to share a world with animals

Domestic cats allowed outside have incredibly harmful impact on local ecosystems and have even been studied to cause generations of alteration to natural fauna patterns as they begin to fear and avoid feline predation or be killed off by cats transmitting diseases. They’re one of the few animals known to kill for fun not just as a food source and they don’t bring home a majority of their kills, even accounting for cats with collar bells. They are personally held majority responsible for the extinction of many kinds of small bird, mammals, and lizards in the areas they aren’t native to. Which is nowhere, because they are a domesticated animal

Also they get injured by dogs or other cats, hit by cars, poisoned, or attacked by bigger predators. If you wouldn’t let your dog out without a lead and supervision, your cat shouldn’t either. They’re perfectly happy indoors or in catios/escape proof gardens, just like you would with a dog.

They’ve also killed a couple of my pond fish, even after we put up predator netting. There’s nothing quite like having to scrape parts of your dead pet out of the grass cause a cat ripped up your net and managed to catch them, then not even eat the entire fish. The foxes at least are wild native animals trying to eat, cats are a people problem.

Also personally as someone who loves cats! But lives in an area with a lot of roaming cats, the screaming keeps me up some nights, and walking my dog means having her muzzled because she will damn near break my arm trying to get to and kill a cat with her prey drive. She’s already reactive and we take so many steps back training when a cat darts out on us. It’s my job to keep her in control and I do, but it’s just not great.

So yeah, I know it’s an old attitude ESPECIALLY in the U.K. and Europe bc it’s been around so long, but all the science indicates it’s bad for the environment, and the cats themselves. It can be hard to train out of older cats, but kittens who haven’t been out don’t miss it.

the Monkees meet Davy’s grandfather under different circumstances. Hes a very strict man and he’s always telling Davy to “man up” or “act his age” and the guys can see Davy retreating into his head. He doesn’t regress the entire time his grandfathers visiting since he’s too busy fixing everything the man sees a problem with (everything about the pad and Davy’s life). Mike eventually has to step in and ask him to leave. Davy’s depressed for a bit afterward before the guys finally get him to regress. Then he’s small constantly until the guys cheer him back up. Poor guy just wants his grandfathers approval :(

I’ve decided that in a modern AU, Snotlout is actually the one that drives everyone everywhere on long car rides in the gangs shared van. Here’s my reasoning.

Hiccup, while being a great driver, lives off of caffeine and spite, and if left to his own devices and too much caffeine, will try and do tricks in parking lots that usually end in him crashing. And once this boy hits the freeway, he goes as fast as humanely and legally possible.

Astrid gets road rage over every minor inconvenience, and doesn’t believe in right of way unless it applies to her. She also keeps the windows down at all times and speeds, even when it’s -25 degrees outside or there’s a hundred bugs outside.

The twins are actually decent drivers, but go out of their way to break every driving law possible, especially in the presence of cops. They’re infamous for numerous high speed car chases with the cops, and are on a first name basis with half the police force for their driving shenanigans alone.

Fishlegs drives like a grandpa: five to ten miles below the speed limit, uses his blinkers religiously, and waits too long to take an opening. When he does get behind the wheel, he also chooses the longest possible route to literally anywhere, insisting they enjoy the scenery. This usually ends with everyone being late to everything in varying degrees of tardiness.

Snotlout, while a bit of a hothead, with minor road rage issues of his own, doesn’t try and do something that’ll potentially wreck the car. He comes after everyone about leaving their garbage in it, nags Hiccup into teaching him how to do repairs on it. He refuses to drive after having a single drink, he hand washes it inside and out every month. He treats this car like it’s a temple…..mostly because it’s actually his car that he’s lent partial ownership to the others, which is also half the reason he’s the designated driver.
