Im hoping you might have some advice for me, I'm going to some anarchist and radical events for the first time ever. I've never met any other anarchists or really anyone with any kind of leftist views irl, so I have no idea what to expect. Police presence is very heavy here and many have been arrested before for nothing so I'm nervous of even going to these things too, even though it's only a bookfair and a pride march+party. I just have 0 experience and don't know anyone here. Hope this doesn't sound silly. Any advice?
well, as they say, the secret is to begin. that alone is often the most difficult thing, but once you begin you can get some confidence, some momentum and keep the ball rolling. and if you're already going to these events it sounds like you got that down. congrats.
for the police presence, keep your wits about you, don't simply be part of a crowd, if something feels off be ready to split. i'd recommend wearing a face mask. it's easy and simple and serves double duty, protecting against illness and against surveillance, without making you stick out too much like a sore thumb. just don't over estimate the power of such a simple move. wearing a face mask =/= masking up. seen too many bad blocs. of course if these events are bloc events, then do more than just a face mask. if you're worried you'll be arrested, make arrangements for that. have the numbers of local support groups, coworkers who could feed your pets, autopay for rent etc. idk just how heavy the presence is where you live, but bookfairs and pride marches tend to be on the safer side, so i'd like to think the chances you'd be arrested simply for attending are slim to none. but again, keep your wits about you, don't let a stranger like me put you into some false sense of security. you know your situation better than anyone else.
ive found that food is a pretty good way to connect with people. have some snacks or something ready to share, maybe some water bottles. the person at protests or shows who holds up a water bottle is pretty much always well recieved. compliment people, but make it genuine and don't hold expectations about it, be prepared to give it, smile, and move on. some people are busy or don't take them well or a million other reasons you shouldn't take personally.
and perhaps most importantly, have fun and stay silly :3

Give in to Love
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so I have several thots about this. Like with Kiri, he would be like, relieved you’re being submissive but then he’d become like super depressed that you aren’t like idk seeming to live in your body, like you’re just a husk and he’d get so worried and sad and pamper you with so much love.
Yeah so aside from Kiri, a yan that I imagine this type of scenario is with someone like Victor Nikiforov from YOI
Tumblr media
yes. This Bitch right here.
So first fucking off, he’s rich. Money is no problem for him.
Second off, he’s so confident that he would not hesitate to do whatever he wanted.
Third, he’s actually pretty kind (especially to pretty, vulnerable little things like you)
It’d probably start out with the man spilling coffee all over you or something SUPER cliche like that.
(Warnings - not much. NSFW but only the teeniest tiniest bit. barely even a mention. but obvs Yandere, dub con, dark content.)
He’s in a rush, he was bursting out of the coffee-shop, you just so happened to be walking by and in the direct path of the door and so smacks into you, knocking you onto your butt.
Immediately, you’re being helped up by a silver haired man, he’s apologizing heavily, patting your clothes into place, smoothing your hair, steadying you onto your feet. He’s so sorry, he didn’t even see you! And then the man stops, looks at you, smiles blindingly and blurts out that you’re pretty.
You’re understandably stunned. but you quickly just brush it off, his accent is foreign, it’s probably just a cultural thing.
Then he’s offering to buy you something to make up for him trying to give you a concussion, asking if you like coffee, sweets, maybe a sweater? You look cold.
And you’re just so tired, life is exhausting, you don’t really even care anymore what happens to you. You don’t protest as the man doesn’t wait for an answer, immediately grabbing your hand and marching you into the coffee shop he had just burst out of.
“Pick anything you’d like, my treat! An apology for not paying attention to such a beautiful thing.” He smiles, gesturing at the menu.
You study it for a second, but there’s too many choices, and it’d just be easier if you didn’t have to, and you’re so used to people telling you what to do and making decisions for you and you’re lost. Where do you even start?
After a few moments of silence, the man (who's been not-so-subtly watching you as you deliberate) speaks up. “Can I pick? I LOVE their raspberry cheesecake! So good!”
It sounds fine, and you’re somewhat relieved that he was going to choose, take the burden of responsibility off of your shoulders.
He buys one of the giant slices, ushers you to table, sits you down. The man watches you take a bite, his face lighting up and giving a little clap when you give a thumbs up. He has his own fork, and he takes bits and pieces here and there from the slice. While you eat, he talks.
His name is Victor, he’s from Russia, are you from around here? What’s your name?
“That’s such a pretty name!” He says your name once, twice, rolling it around in his mouth like it’s something to savor.
Victor is a ball of energy, confident, full of life. He’s frankly an intimidating man, with how attractive he is, the obviously expensive suit he wears, the way he dominates the conversation and expertly handles your awkward silences and uncomfortable pauses.
By the time you leave, he’s entered his number into your phone, quickly scrolling to find your own number (even though he was only supposed to put in his own - but you really didn’t care) and note it down.
You’re pretty sure he won’t actually be texting or calling you - he was just being polite, feigning interest in someone as boring and pathetic as yourself.
Lo-and-behold, that evening you get a notification that “Vitya! (:” has texted you.
Hello! Is your body feeling alright?
Immediately confused, you send out a reply
Who is this?
It’s Victor!!! From the coffeeshop, haha.
Oh, hi (: your contact name says “Vitya” lol what a typo
Not a typo, I like it when pretty girls call me Vitya (;
Baffled, you don’t reply, and no further messages are exchanged.
A few days go by, Victor texts you on the fifth day, asking if you wouldn’t mind recommending some fun local activities. You have to apologize - you don’t get out much, you’re sure there’s info online though.
Victor asks why you don’t go out, you decide to be blunt and succinctly explain the fatigue, you’re anxious, this is your first time being out on your own and you’re so used to other people dictating your life that it feels uncomfortable and wrong to be able to make decisions.
The man asks if you would go to that coffeeshop again with him. The switch of topic relieves you, but at the same time you’re frowning. You probably word-vomited all over him, complaining about your problems.
For some reason, you agree.
He meets you at the coffeeshop again, this time not even bothering to ask what you’d like to order. Victor just gets a few cookies, leads you to a table and plops down, spreading them in front of the two of you
“In case you don’t like one of them. And if you have allergies!”
You smile at his explanation.
Victor slowly becomes a constant in your life.
The texts turn into quick calls, inviting you places, begging you to come sit with him in the park, feed some pigeons. Go to the grocery store with him? He’s lonely, don’t make him go by himself!
Even if you refuse, you’re gently bullied into doing virtually everything he says. It’s not like you mind though, you’re used to it.
He starts showing up at your apartment, you aren’t even sure when you gave him your address, but now he invites himself inside.
The first time he had shown up, completely unannounced, you had protested only once before letting him in. You could tell he was scrutinizing your home, but what did it matter? Victor was wealthy, everything you owned seemed shabby and poor.
He came over most nights, sometimes bringing food, making you sit with him at your table and eat. Sometimes he brought a book, or his laptop, and quietly sat on your couch while you puttered around. He’d always get distracted from what he was reading though, chattering towards you about this or that or the other.
Victor was nice.
He made decisions for you, he made you eat, he quickly picked up on when you were too tired to function, when all you could do was collapse somewhere and fall asleep.
But Victor was also threatening.
If you tried refusing him too many times, or if you mentioned your coworker telling a funny joke (It’s not like he wasn’t funny, the joke was hilarious - Victor just didn’t seem to like it) Victor’s face would sour, eyebrows drawing low, a deep frown etched onto his face. HIs voice would take on a commanding tone, low, as if he was going to do something that neither of you would enjoy if he had to ask again.
It was scary sometimes.
But he had invaded your life, and you had stood by and idly watched. It’s not like you had put up a fight. You didn’t even know why he hung around you so, with the way you were constantly tired, moving through life like a zombie, sad and sleepy all the time.
Months passed and like every other year of your life, you could barely remember them slipping by. When had Victor become so comfortable in your apartment? It made you uncomfortable, but you were used to discomfort.
It came to a head when you retreated to your room for a nap, body sore and fatigued from merely existing. Victor followed you, nagging about wearing something cooler, to drink some water, how he heard about this new thing recently-
He followed you into your bed.
Like it was normal. Crawling under the covers with you, still maintaining a respectful distance, still talking. You were so tired, you didn’t care about how it made you uncomfortable.
When you woke up, he was curled around you, holding you tight. When you shifted, he had perked up, peeking around your shoulder to see your face. He had been awake the whole time, just chilling.
It was weird.
You were too tired to fight it.
Victor started paying for too much.
Of course it started small, as everything concerning Victor did. Sweets, small little gifts, occasionally a week’s worth of groceries.
Then it escalated. He was paying for your medications, for your therapies, for your health aids. He started trailing after you to doctor’s appointments, introducing himself as a concerned friend.
You knew this wasn’t good, wasn’t healthy. Something was wrong about this, but you just didn’t care. Something was always wrong, you were always being directed and pushed towards this or that. You just had to accept it.
Then Victor was paying your rent, buying you clothes (since when did friends buy each other underwear?) surprising you with bigger and more expensive gifts until you tried to put your foot down.
You had gotten a stern talking-to, treated like an ungrateful child. And maybe you were? Victor was doing so much for you, shouldn’t you just accept his care?
Victor suggested that you move into his house, since he practically lives at your little apartment anyways.
“My place is so much cozier! I have a fireplace, I miss it! I want to spend time with you but we could hang out in a more-” He looked around at your apartment “-comfortable place?”
You tried to argue, you did. But it took one disapproving glance from Victor and you were subdued, meekly agreeing to do whatever he wanted.
He called your landlord to terminate your lease. He helped you pack your clothes (that he had bought) into boxes (that he had bought) and arranged for your furniture (that he had bought, always complaining that your couch was bad for his back) to be sold.
Once moving in with him, he got more and more affectionate.
Right from the start, you quickly realized that Victor was very tactile-oriented. He wasn’t shy about physical touch, always wanting to hold hands or giving super long hugs, or begging to cuddle. He didn’t think it was weird, so you tried not to think so either.
Now that you were in his house, his gigantic, expensive house, Victor became even more physical. He showered you with kisses on the cheek, pressed to your forehead, on your shoulder, your neck when he curled around you at night (because of course you slept in the same bed. Victor had just laughed when you asked where your bedroom was)
Eventually, he kissed you on the mouth.
You were surprised, but you didn’t fight it. Why would you?
A heartfelt confession followed - how he had fallen in love with you at first sight, and how every day he fell more and more in love with you. You were his everything, the light of his life, he would die for you.
Don’t you feel the same?
You did, because that’s what Victor wanted to hear.
So now the two of you were dating, sharing kisses and intimate touches and eventually sharing bodies, letting him touch you even though it made your flesh crawl, touching him because he asked you to.
He provided everything, it was simpler just to do what he asked, what he desired. You didn’t even really mind being told what to do, what to wear, what and when to eat - it gave you a sense of comfort, knowing that you didn’t have to make decisions for yourself like that.
Victor would take care of you.
Even when you didn’t want him to
After all, it was simply easier to give in to love

They were there to "Stop the Steal" and to keep the President they revered in office, yet records show that some of the rioters who stormed the US Capitol did not vote in the very election they were protesting.
One was Donovan Crowl, an ex-Marine who charged toward a Capitol entrance in paramilitary garb on January 6 as the Pro-Trump crowd chanted "who's our President?"
Federal authorities later identified Crowl, 50, as a member of a self-styled militia organization in his home state of Ohio and affiliated with the extremist group the Oath Keepers. His mother told CNN that he previously told her "they were going to overtake the government if they...tried to take Trump's presidency from him." She said he had become increasingly angry during the Obama administration and that she was aware of his support for former President Donald Trump.
Despite these apparent pro-Trump views, a county election official in Ohio told CNN that he registered in 2013 but "never voted nor responded to any of our confirmation notices to keep him registered," so he was removed from the voter rolls at the end of 2020 and the state said he was not registered in Ohio. A county clerk in Illinois, where Crowl was once registered, also confirmed he was not an active voter anywhere in the state.
Crowl was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of destruction of government property and conspiracy for allegedly coordinating with others to plan their attack. He remains in custody after a judge said, "The suggestion to release him to a residence with nine firearms is a non-starter." In an interview cited by the government, Crowl told the New Yorker that he had peaceful intentions and claimed he had protected the police. Crowl's attorney did not provide a comment about his client's voting record.
Many involved in the insurrection professed to be motivated by patriotism, falsely declaring that Trump was the rightful winner of the election. Yet at least eight of the people who are now facing criminal charges for their involvement in the events at the Capitol did not vote in the November 2020 presidential election, according to an analysis of voting records from the states where protestors were arrested and those states where public records show they have lived. They came from states around the country and ranged in age from 21 to 65.
To determine who voted in November, CNN obtained voting records for more than 80 of the initial arrestees. Most voted in the presidential election, and while many were registered Republicans, a handful were registered as Democrats in those jurisdictions that provided party information -- though who someone votes for is not publicly disclosed. Public access to voter history records varies by state, and CNN was unable to view the records of some of those charged.
Among those who didn't vote were a 65-year-old Georgia man who, according to government documents, was found in his van with a fully-loaded pistol and ammunition, and a Louisiana man who publicly bragged about spending nearly two hours inside the Capitol after attending Trump's "Stop the Steal" rally. Another was a 21-year-old woman from Missouri who prosecutors say shared a video on Snapchat that showed her parading around with a piece of a wooden sign from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office. And a Florida man previously convicted of attempted murder who was accused by the government of refusing to leave the Capitol likely did not have the option to cast a ballot because of his unpaid court fines.
Jessica Stern, a Boston University professor who has spent around 30 years researching extremists, said that while she hasn't spoken with the individuals involved in the events at the Capitol, from her interviews with other violent extremists, she believes a number of factors could have been at play. They could have believed the system was rigged, as the "Stop the Steal" movement claims, in which case there would be no point in voting. They could be more attracted to the theater, violence or attention they would get from a demonstration like the one at the Capitol than to actually achieving their purported goal -- in this case, different election results.
Stern speculated that it was a combination of these reasons, adding that feelings of anger and humiliation often draw people to extremist groups and violence. She said that for someone to actually cast a vote, "you would have to believe in the ethic of voting more than you thought it was a waste of time...and see it as a moral imperative. You have to believe the system works for everyone, that it's for the good of the country."
Jack Griffith, a 25-year-old from Tennessee, trumpeted his arrival in Washington DC with a Facebook post saying, "THE CAVALRY IS COMING!!!!," using the hashtag "#MAGA," according to court documents. Shortly after leaving the Capitol on January 6, he posted a message of disappointment. "I hate to be that guy, but The New World Order beat us," he wrote. "Trump was our greatest champion, and it still wasn't enough. He tried his very best. He did so much, but he's only one man...I even helped stormed(sic) the capitol today, but it only made things worse...Why, God? Why? WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN US? Unless...Trump still has a plan?"
These online missives describing his participation in the Capitol siege were later used by the Department of Justice to build a criminal case against him. Griffith faces a number of charges, including violent entry or disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds.
Election data from Tennessee and Alabama, where public records show Griffith had lived, showed that he had voted in the 2016 and 2018 elections but not the 2020 presidential election. The public defender who initially represented him declined to comment. Another attorney listed as representing him now did not respond to requests for comment.
Court records detail how University of Kentucky senior Gracyn Courtright posted a series of images on Instagram showing herself marching with a large American flag and another with her arms raised in triumph outside the Capitol, with the caption, "can't wait to tell my grandkids I was here." Later, she posted a photo of herself in a belly baring shirt with the caption, "Infamy is just as good as fame. Either way I end up more known. XOXO."
Courtright, who was charged with crimes including knowingly entering a restricted building, was also identified on surveillance footage lugging a congressional "Members Only" sign around the Capitol, according to court records. "idk what treason is," she wrote in a conversation shared with the FBI by a tipster, who had confronted the college student in a series of Instagram messages. Courtright is not registered in Kentucky, where she attends school, according to election officials. She is registered in her home state of West Virginia, but records show she did not vote in the 2020 election. Her attorney told CNN that Courtright did not dispute the fact that she did not vote in the election but declined further comment.
In a string of social media posts he shared straight from the Capitol, Edward Jacob Lang of New York portrayed himself as ready for a revolution. "1776 has commenced," he wrote in one that was cited by the government, showing him standing on the steps of the Capitol. "I was the leader of Liberty today. Arrest me. You are on the wrong side of history," read another. After leaving the Capitol, he continued to encourage followers to join the "patriot movement" with him. "GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH," he posted.
Federal prosecutors said that video footage from January 6 shows Lang attempting to attack police officers with a baseball bat, donning a gas mask and riot shield. He now faces a variety of federal charges, including assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers or employees, civil disorder and violent entry. A recent ProPublica story also revealed how Lang had used the online messaging app Telegram in an attempt to radicalize "normies" and convince them to join local militia groups -- encouraging people in the days after the Capitol riot to stock up on guns and prepare for war.
Though state records show that Lang is registered to vote and had participated in a couple of past elections, county and state officials confirmed to CNN that he did not vote in the November election. Lang's attorney said in a statement that Lang claimed from jail that he submitted an absentee ballot, saying, "Mr. Lang has always represented himself as a Libertarian...He is not a devout Trump supporter, but believes that those taking office will not uphold citizens' First and Second Amendment rights."
New York law requires absentee ballots to be postmarked by election day and received within the following week in order to be counted. When asked about Lang's claim that he sent in an absentee ballot, the Sullivan County Board of Elections directed CNN to file an open records request in order to receive any information. The request had not been responded to before the time of publishing.
Lang's attorney also said the 25-year-old was a "naive, impressionable young man" who had been provoked by Trump's rhetoric. He cited Senator Mitch McConnell's statement that "the mob was fed lies" and said he hoped that Lang and others would not be considered guilty "due solely to their associations, beliefs and presence."
A man who identified himself with the name of Lang's father refused to talk with a reporter, saying, "We hate CNN. We're pro Trump, goodbye." In a statement to a local newspaper, Lang's father attributed his son's actions at the Capitol to "a substance abuse problem."
Arie Perliger, a professor at University of Massachusetts Lowell who specializes in right-wing domestic terror, said that he was not surprised to hear some of the rioters had not voted, particularly militia members like Crowl, since militia membership is often rooted in a distrust of government. Still, he said he was concerned that it could reflect a growing erosion of faith in the American democratic process, which is a "risk we need to think about."
"When we see that significant ideological groups are stopping participating in the Democratic process, that may mean they are looking for other ways to participate, and those other ways could be more violent," said Perliger, who oversees a database of right-wing extremist acts of violence in the United States. "We should be concerned if we see a growing number of ideological groups are reducing their involvement in electoral politics."

Multiple times I’ve seen anons write in to lefty blogs like “I know leftism is all about community but i’m autistic/mentally ill/just a super huge introvert and idk if I could handle community 24/7” and they’ve all been answered along the lines of like “well in a decentralized communist society you can be as interdependent or as self-sufficient as you want” which isn’t untrue but I think glosses over the labor needed to become self-sufficient (yeah once you get the ball rolling it’s not that bad but you will need to either have a barn raising or work VERY hard for the first solid decade, and even then success isn’t guaranteed) and also misses the emotional impetus behind the ask, which is, “what is my role in the revolution if protests and meetings make me wanna cry?” So here’s my list of suggestions for this situation:
Remember that “community” doesn’t have to mean “making face to face small talk.” A lot of actions, such as marches supporting strikes, and mutual aid stuff like food not bombs and urban development stuff just need BODIES. People to make a bigger crowd, people to pack boxes, people to show up at a certain time each week when nobody else is around and check the watering system. You are not being judged on your ability to make friends, I promise! Plus, a polite email about accessibility needs and what to expect does wonders. The good news about people who are trying to improve society is that even if they’re still learning, they WANT things to be as accessible as possible. Know what you need, but don’t lose sight of how much you can contribute. If you show up once to an action and then go home and lie down in your quiet house with the blinds drawn the rest of the month, you have STILL DONE MORE than if you hadn’t acted. But also, keep in mind that you can build community without socializing in a traditional way. If you live in a low income area, try using local-based social networks like Nextdoor to pool resources--it can be as easy as making a post saying you’ve got groceries that need used up before you can eat them, seriously! If you live in a more well-off area, you can try to connect with like-minded people nearby and then team up to raise funds for mutual aid kickstarters etc., especially if they were posted by people just over the tracks from you.
Revolution DOES need people who aren’t direct boots on the ground. Disengage from discussion for a while and work out your mind. Study. Write. Discuss local leftist praxis in a constructive way. Teach yourself about organizing tactics and then make videos to teach them to others in a more accessible way. Learn about the laws in your town and state and create tools for helping people know their rights or critically analyze political messages. Read or view stories that masterfully rebuke the status quo and celebrate the human spirit, ANALYZE how they do what they do, and then make your own! Learn about history from a revolutionary perspective--and again, learn to TEACH it in engaging ways, or share your knowledge with people who can already. Don’t get bogged down because you can’t do it just like some online big shot you admire. Look outside what’s popular and develop a unique approach and voice. The internet can be a bummer, but what’s good about it is that it makes intellectual community more accessible than ever. Yes you don’t wanna be a theory wonk, but thinkers are still the backbone of any sort of lasting change--and they’re just people like you.
Know your limits--but push them sometimes. Self-care is important, but I’d advise against using it as a reason to never go outside your comfort zone. If we want to change the world, we have to want it enough to sacrifice, do hard things in smart ways, and learn to handle fear mindfully. You are the expert on what you can and can’t do. Decide for yourself where you could push a little farther instead of listening to outside voices telling you you’re “making excuses” and pushing yourself towards burnout. The human impulse towards heroism is divine yet easy to exploit. Find your heroism and be the master of it.

Snagged this from @paper-shield-and-wooden-sword
Get to Know the Writer Tag I’ve had this saved in my drafts for idk how long! Need to avoid doing that writing thing lol
1. What’s your favorite kind of setting to write?
Most of my stuff takes place in present day because my brain doesn’t like to create technology that makes sense? I sort of hope for the best when that happens and hope that editing will fix it later lol. I have some stuff that take place in the past but haven’t really played around with that as much. Also I seem to really flock towards a sort of ‘cop’ style or at least an organization that handles cop like work.
2. What’s your ideal writing environment?
Where I like to write? My ass on my comfy bed in a reclined position. Three pillows to prop myself up, maybe a cat clawing at me to move my arm so he can cuddle with me. Some dope music playing (not always soothing and relaxing instrumental but sometimes), candles burning maybe with some incense (tho that’s normal too). I do write a bit at work too when I’m bored out of my mind but that’s more rushed and feel the need to hide. Never really tried writing anywhere else.  I guess ideal is just at home with some nice music and a comfy place to sit.
3. Are there any books or authors who have helped shape how you write?
Rereading Skulduggery Pleasant really seemed to have an influence on me and my writing dialog. Especially the snarky dialog like Skully and Val have. I like that sort of dynamic duo too. I also really like reading movie novelizations too. Helps me write action scenes in better words than ‘she threw a punch’.
4. Do you listen to music while you write?
Aye yes! I always have music playing 24/7. Shit is life. I have a relaxation playlist I put on sometimes if I really need to focus. I do have a piano playlist I throw on too sometimes. Then on my Spotify I have a whole folder filled with my ‘novel wip soundtracks’ and such alike that help me write my characters. I have one with piano music that my OC Cameron is most likely to play and another one that Brad and Rose would play on their youtube channel and do covers of. I have more I want to make too but in due time.
5. How did you come up with your main characters? Did you plan them out, or did they just kind of show up?
I’ll reference ‘main’ characters as core characters because I’d consider Taren and Jason the two mains in my new wip and Brad and Rose the mains in my Time Traveler wip.
Start with Cam. Cameron didn’t always go by Cameron. When I was working on my Psychic wip, it was a fanfiction at first and Cameron’s name was actually Dennis Rafkin (from Thir13en Ghosts because I’m traaaaaash). He was already a sort of established character that I was projecting headcanons on and sort of doing what he would do in the situations I was putting him in. After a year or so I changed his last name to Radden to take away from the fanfiction aspect of it, seeing how it didn’t really seem ‘fanfiction’ anymore. Few months later, I changed his first name to Cameron and he’s been my Cam Cam ever since. He was more or less planned out over the course of a year and a half.
Now with Brad and Rose, Brad was sort of planned out. He was more or less based on Brad Sherwood from Whose Line and I didn’t really change that much about it, but sort of did that projecting headcanons on sort of thing till he was his own entity. That really showed up when I tired to change his name and that didn’t stick (like how Dennis -> Cameron did). Rose just sort of showed up. I needed a name for a character and it took a day to really settle in on a name and when I found Rosalie, it was set and done.
Both Jason and Taren definitely just showed up. My friend and I were saying that it would be a cool idea if Christian Slater did a movie with Taron Egerton. Thus, the names. Jason came from his character JD (which it’s sort of a fanfiction by this point with how much I’m using of his background and all)  as a reformed adult. Taren is just Taron with an e instead of an o. I liked how the name sounded and it fight the character I was creating around him. He’s heavily based off of Eggsy from Kingsman but this one is also super new and a baby so I’m still futzing with it so only time can tell where this goes :)
6. Which of your characters would you most like to spend a day with? (Picking multiple characters is okay!)
Cameron! Hands down! My friend and I are super bummed that he’s not real and all the cool shit we would do with him! Go to the Ren Faire, go to holistic shows, crystal shopping, movie nights, make fun of shitty local bands, and all sorts of other things.
Runner up would be Rose and Brad because they are a package deal and we can all just go shopping for music and listening to music on the beach or something stupid like that. Just hang while listening to music.
7. When you’re not writing, what are you most likely to be doing?
Watching movies or youtube. Wasting my time on tumblr. Making things. I make notebooks and other products based around those notebooks. Sometimes hanging out with friends. And obviously work.
8. What are some songs that remind you of your WIP(s)?
Anything by Panic! has Cameron written all over him.  Anything Reel Big Fish has Brad and Rose written all over them.
I do have playlists dedicated to my novels as a whole, not so much just one song for each or even a handful. They’re all over the place music wise. My characters all have their own distinct music styles and tastes that are both similar and completely different.  Their choices go from dad bands to ska to emo to electro swing to classical to German yodeling EDM remixes to folk to top 40 hits of today.
9. What’s the longest time you’ve ever spent working on a story?
I started working on my Psychic wip in the summer of 2015. So that’s been a three year journey. My Time Travelers started back in May of this year and my Action Heroes were just this month. The Psychic Twins have been around since March of 2017 according to their document creation date but they dont’ have a universe, so they’re just two OCs in their own world yet to be discovered.
10. Share a line of writing you’re particularly proud of!
O dang. This is from my Psychic’s novel and has already gone through two rewrites up to this point. I’m quite proud of this scene so here’s a few lines. Probably will be a bit confusing but whatever:
“Listen, Jasmin.” He adjusted again in the chair, causing it to creak loudly in protest against his weight shift. “When Welles died, Cameron had to grow up quickly. I couldn’t dwell in the past and had to move on immediately. Because of that, it really fucked me up mentally and emotionally. I’m man enough to admit that.”

[Potentially #Triggering for mentions of institutionalizations/hospitalization, Eating disorders and ED relapse]
Hi everyone
💚🌎🌍🌏💚HAPPY EARTH DAY!💚🌏🌍🌎💚
I hope everyone’s having a decent enough weekend and that those of you who are joining in on the international #ScienceMarch -es are staying safe and hopeful for a better, well-funded, vigorously and favorably peer-reviewed future.
I got to attend the local #ScienceMarchDen (Denver) with another patient from ACUTE and a 4 other patients from ERC (Denver)(all chaperoned, of course). Originally, the plan was that I would make attending my local Science March in Houston a goal/benchmark of my discharge from ACUTE/admission to the local ERC (Houston) but since I’m going to be here for about another month before I can do that, they finally told me that they were allowing me to go to the one here in Denver yesterday morning so I spent alll day yesterday working on my sign (side 1: Re Si S T, side 2: Science N⚛️T Silence)before I made a rather difficult but long Skype call to my cat, Totoro, because it’s his 11th birthday (approximately, because I got him at 6 months but his mother was a terrible record keeper tbh).
Also, on the way back we stopped at a Starbucks as part of a scheduled outing with the ERC patients (they outnumbered the pair of us but also neither of us wants sit in the van while they did their outing)..and yes, I got a Unicorn Frap because I remembered that I had my gold Starbucks rewards card tucked in my phone case..it’s sooo worth depleting 125 stars for (starts off kinda sour and I hate the whipped cream but it gets better as you swirl it..also, talk about a Challenge Food/Snack™👍🏼). It was difficult because well, I haven’t been outside the hospital grounds since January and even then tat;s only for two 30 minute “walks” where I’m not even allowed to push my own wheelchair… so to go from that to going to a protest march then a busy coffee shop was… taxing, mentally and physically.
But overall, today was the best day I’ve had while here BY FAR💕
tonight is the airing of the next new episode of Doctor Who (“Smile”) on BBC America at 8PM (Central Standard Time) followed by another new episode of the spin-off “Class" (“The Coach with the Dragon Tattoo”) … please try to watch the show live on a television that can legally access BBC or BBC America but you’re unable to try here for a BBC America livestream http://original.livestream.com/bbcamerica
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT TONIGHT’S EPISODE OF “Doctor Who” WILL BE 65 MINUTES LONG SO PLEASE ADJUST YOUR DVRS AND SUCH ACCORDINGLY
the at 10:30pm (Central Time) on NBC they’ll be showing a rerun Episode from the current Saturday Night Live season (42) with Host Tom Hanks and Musical Guest Lady Gaga
there’s a livestream available here http://www.stream2watch.co/live-tv/us/nbc-live-stream if you need or want it
I do have access to my laptop, phone, iPad,etc while here but I’m currently dead asleep because exhausted but I’ll try to live tweet what I can once I wake up even if I have to catch repeats/watch episodes via the OnDemand app and per the rules of ACUTE, my lights out/bedtime is a hard 11pm so idk how long I’ll be around livetweeting and such💔
I hope you’re all staying safe and enjoying your weekend as much as possible despite all of the bullshit lately,
❤️you all,
Dani (analgesicsleep)

liberal men < men who think analytically
the next liberal man who says, “ pff, the women’s march was so dumb. what were people even protesting? What are they trying to get done with that? protest doesn’t even do anything on its own, maybe they should have some clear objectives lol” will be puked on. Only men have said this. I haven’t heard anything like this from a single woman.
idk, maybe you could go to the official website for the women’s march and see multiple cogent objectives which aim to abolish the very real oppression women live with. Maybe you could see that there is a multifaceted approach for the objectives, which include contacting members of congress, going to town hall meetings, boycotts, and contacting local media. Maybe you could *not* pretend like having a multifaceted approach was invented by Occupy Wall Street (bc LOL, sociologists have written about that tactic since the birth of democracy. literally hundreds of books and pamphlets in existence on this exact tactic for hundreds of years)
My experiences with men this weekend, specifically with so-called “liberal” men in “liberal” organizations is making me feel that it’s time to devote most of my activist energy into a women-only organization. I’ll still do activism in coed groups, of course, but I feel really appalled by most “liberal” men rn.
p.s. I’m not a misandryst. In fact, I know the majority of men are pretty good and many showed up to march. What I’m talking about here is the truly gross pack of male political theorists/cocky organizers who have come out to debate the worthiness of our movement this weekend.
