#if Danny’s clone can be an opposite gender

Dc x dp idea 127
After the events of the nasty burger. Clockwork doesn’t rewind the explosion, but rather then fully trust Danny not to allow Dan to happen. He took matters into his own hands.
He deages Danny and in order to ensure he had no contact with Vlad ever again. Unleashes a grieving and peeved super powered toddler on the dc universe.
Jack is a hero’s alternate. Like say Clark or Bruce. Even any of the batkids or super kids. So if a dna test were to occur. Well. It would register Danny as their child.

Danny Fenton
"His only stable clone is of the opposite gender, he's hiding his identity from his parents, and a lot of other details people have compiled"
"That entire post about reasons why Danny is trans
Excerpts:
The main plot of the show can be read as a metaphor for being queer
Danny is the only boy who wears a shirt to the waterpark
There was a stable, female clone of him named Danni
One ghost attempted to touch his chest and he immediately and forcefully pulled back while seeming extremely uncomfortable"
Guy Gardener
"He is so transgender to me. He’s a trans man in my eyes. He’s canonically bad at naming things (cat named katt, replies 'good name' (serious) when told that they were calling a guy 'the weird' because all the readings on him are so weird, best code name he could come up with was 'warrior') so naming himself Guy is a natural fit. He gets alien shapeshifting/healing powers at one point which results in him being genuinely concerned when a teammate jokes about him possibly being pregnant. There’s also a comment about how 'even your voice has changed'. He overcompensates with his masculinity. In his main team (the justice league international) he mostly only gets acknowledged to be yelled at, sometimes because he deserved it, but sometimes because he’s taking up space (which will happen to trans mascs in lgbt spaces a lot) (and the whole jli is very queer coded so…). And in the post 2011 DC universe (New 52) most characters treat him in a hostile manner even though the reputation for crudeness he’d built in the 80s was retconned so he basically gets a negative reaction for no reason which again mirrors the trans masc experience in lgbt spaces. He’s also been subjected to two different genderbend storylines, a one shot in the 90s and an ongoing story in the 2010s."
"Many reasons - because I said so, because he is bad at naming things (names his cat 'Katt,' thinks 'The Weird' is a good name for a thing that is weird) so him coming out and naming himself 'Guy' is not that absurd (and its also really funny), his whole character predicates upon trying to meet masculine standards and also being criticized when he DOES meet those standards (very common experience amongst transmascs specifically), he also tends to seem to overcompensate his masculinity… um, which is also a common transmasc experience. He really likes being a man. Very transgender. But also I mean, I said so, so it's true."

As far as I know, it's not that hard to have a female clone of a male character since the Y chromosome is so fragile and a cell could just joink a second copy of the X chromosome during cell division. So the trans question would still be in the air. If the CLONE is male and the door female then at least one of them has to be trans tho.
…. I’m guessing this is about that trans Sonic (the Hedgehog) and Surge (the Tenrec) post I reblogged.
Listen. The point is that Surge is literally, canonically not even a hedgehog. Unless Sonic the Hedgehog, Mr Needlemouse, Mr Parlouzer himself, is not a hedgehog, then like… she’s not his clone. I am all for trans Sonic, but Surge is literally not his clone.
Buuuuut since you’ve willing come into my inbox to talk genetics and cloning!
There is a series where the clone IS a girl and the donor is a boy, and they’re even the same, uh, species. Thats Danny Phantom. I’m not doing a whole thing on Dani right now, unless asked, but she’s kinda the reason I had most of this already at the back of my mind, ha.
There are genetic disorders where someone has more than just two X chromosomes, or just XY.
You can have one X chromosome, that’s called Turner’s syndrome.
An embryo can technically have only one Y chromosome, but it’s basically always fatal, extremely early in development (like, might get to being four whole CELLS early). Likewise, it might get two Ys. Still won’t work. We need that X chromosome.
Also, Y chromosomes, being fragile, can disappear from a male’s cells as he gets older. There’s also the fact that the Y chromosome miiiiiiight be disappearing, very slowly, over time. Moving on!
We have XXY, Klinefelter’s Syndrome. We have triple X, exactly what it sounds, with rarer XXXX and XXXXX,
XYY is Jacob’s Syndrome. There’s also XXYY, XXXY, XXXXY, so on and so forth.
Some of these can be obvious early on, but lots of them aren’t. Some people will go their whole lives not knowing that their genes are carrying some extra weight. While some of these come with fertility issues, children are still totally possible. And people can vary all over the sex spectrum, from being intersex to being completely developed on one end or the other. This isn’t even getting into the different genetic mutations ON sex chromosomes nor any hormonal issues that can effect perceived biological sex that can pop up on someone who DOES have a normal set of sex chromosomes.
I’m all for making every character who has a clone of the ‘opposite’ gender being trans. I’m also for the clone themselves being trans. But genetics are so absolutely weird that it’s entirely possible that both are cis, so long as the mad scientist is already messing with their cells and genes and/or allowing mutations to happen. And, all this said, these aren’t exactly common disorders. Occam’s Razor says the easiest solution is that one of them is trans. But you do have some leeway, if there’s an important reason that they have to be ‘opposite’ genders… such as making them BOTH trans, which is my favorite interpretation of Danny and Dani Phantom. It makes the creator DOUBLE mad.
Plus, it’s fiction. Do whatever. Reminder that this is something prompted by a Sonic the Hedgehog post, a series where the fan base is notoriously unsatisfied and can be…kinda weird. (I began my Internet journey in my young preteens, grew up on the Sonic side of deviantart, then migrated to Danny Phantom phandom on fanfiction.net and tumblr. I watched Voltron as it came out. Good luck making me cringe on fandom related anything.)
Ah, this is all on fictional cloning, by the way. Despite my interests in genetics, I have very little interest in cloning, so my knowledge is limited there. Feel free to pop in about that, cause I’m pretty sure ‘rushed development in a tube’ is definitely a base for having hormonal problems in your cloning experiment.
Im pretty sure this wasn’t the response you were looking for, but my TLDR; use genetic sciences to make the donor and clone BOTH trans and make more people mad about it.

1. What was the first fandom you got involved in?
Ooh, tough one, but it would be a tie between Dragon Ball Z and Death Note.
I remember being a little girl (around 5 - 6) and gushing over Dragon Ball whenever it was airing and even convinced my parents to let me stay up late to watch it when it moved to a later timeslot on YTV.
But, Death Note was the first show/fandom that I ever got into legit fights over and became so in love with I ended up naming my youtube channel (and eventually fighting google not to change it to my real name) after a Fanfiction the creator of DN loved so much he made it canon.
So first show/content I fell in love with was Dragon Ball Z, but the first ever serious content crush I had was on Death Note.
10.  Is there a fandom you read fic from but don’t write in?
Well, currently that is South Park. I mean I have fanfictions I’m working on about South Park on my desktop. But, I tend to write down my thoughts, dreams, and theories about all shows/content I like.
A legit South Park fanfiction wouldn’t probably be ever posted by me, unless I have created a story that I 100% felt others would like to read as well. (This is kind of the reason why most of my fanfiction chapters can be pumped out chapter after chapter, I start writing months in advance before posting 95% of the time.)
20. Any ships which you surprised yourself by liking?
Vlad x Danny from Danny Phantom.
I know, I know, “ew, Danny is like 14 and Vlad is in his 40s” blah, blah blah… I get it. It’s wrong to pair up an underage character with an older character. It’s pedo shit.
But, I tend to think of Danny being at least 16 when I ship him with Vlad and since the show ended when Danny was 17/18 years old (they don’t state this but I and a bunch of Phans had done research on the show’s timeline) it’s not that creepy to think the two might have gotten together if Vlad didn’t go crazy.
They are after all the only 2 true halfas in existence and are probably immortal.
Also Danny’s VA is older than Vlad’s, so if you want real world crap in this, Danny would be the “pedo” by almost 20 years.
Rick x Morty, Morty x Morty from Rick and Morty.
Same as the one above. Though the incest thing first weirded me out, but since in Rick and Morty anything is possible and the fact that Morty has canonly slept with a clone of himself (and their is a Morty Stipper Bar on the Citadel) I’m kind of “meh”. It obviously happens in the canonicity of the show, just not brought front and center, only implied. So I don’t really see them as grandfather and grandson anymore.
Cartman x Kyle/ Cartman x Kyle x Stan x Kenny from South Park
I like the one sided love fan theory, that Eric is an asshole to Kyle just because he secretly has a crush on him.
Though I frequently have dreams of all the four boys caring for eachother in a “loving” way. The song “400 Lux” by Lorde really makes me think of them, especially Kyle being the one that takes care of the other three and their problems.
45. What is your all time favourite fanfic?
Remember my answer for No.1? The Death Note fanfiction I was talking about is called “Death Note: Another Note: The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases” by: Nisio Isin.
It was the first ever fanfiction I read and realized that writers are real people and behind every great story there are fans out there passionate enough to try and make that story even greater, by expanding it’s world with their own thoughts and beliefs. It gave me a whole new outlook on life, animation, books, and every day content we are exposed to.
Someone had the imagination to create that and we as fans, have the ability to improve it!
51. Rant or Gush about one two things you love or hate in the world of fanfiction! Go!
What I hate the most is “Gender Bender” and “Self Insert” type fanfictions.
WIth the gender bending, the ones I see the most just change the gender of one character (usually a boy) into the opposite sex just to make a “lesbian” couple. They usually go into detail about their breasts, hair, clothing, and what not, basically to the point the character might as well be an OC. Also since I was born female and have to deal with female shit all the time, the highly sexualized nature and intense focus on these parts of the character really distract and disgust me at times.
Self Insert is almost as bad. Especially when the “author character” is a Mary Sue and the whole story is focused/is only about them. I want to read about your thoughts and ideas on how they interpret the pre-existing world of the content they are writing about, not about the author fucking their waifu/husbando(s) or how wonderful the author is.
Both of these types of fanfictions are too OC-ish for my comfort.
Thank-you for the ask!

trasn!Danny hc's strongest DEF is that Dani's a...
That’s part of the defence, since Dani was the most stable one and all the other ones were completely messed up, my poor sons. I love all the Clone Children so. much. And I definitely wasn’t implying you saying that! :0 Probably just caution against pulling Butch’s word into it, but that’s me, I don’t know many people aside from you who like to care about what he says.
Not caring about the creator is probably the second saddest thing I’ve heard in a long time, first being Butch Hartman saying he doesn’t own his ideas, but Nickelodeon does and he just happened to be the one who brought them to that company before anyone else. That’s one reason I hesitate over pursuing a career as a cartoon writer myself. It’s so tempting to stick safely with novels.
And I didn’t think you did imply it, I was just putting that out there, friendo!
I’m the kind of person who likes to base everything around the creator’s vision (in the same way I’m not sure I could ever surrender rights to any of my works for a movie if I ever became that popular, because I’d be so worried about the direction they’d take it).
So, for example, I feel weird headcanoning canon characters as trans unless there’s strong reason to believe that was the creator’s view, but I’m totally fine working with trans characters of my own (I’ve got like four confirmed in PMDU).
Although, the thing about PMDU is, all those characters I established as trans before I started working with them, and I’ve never written any of their in-progress transitions. Me, who adored the Batman Leapster game as a child and had a brother who loved the Disney princess game, and parents who didn’t push us either towards our own gender’s stereotyped toys or towards the opposite gender’s, has no idea how to write a character who says “I don’t like the stereotypes associated with my gender/don’t feel comfortable and would like to change so I can be on the outside how I see myself on the inside”, or any of that. I worry I’d mess up. I wouldn’t want anyone to feel invalidated, but it’s not a topic I know very much about.
(I struggle with allosexual characters in the same way: being asexual and not understanding sexual attraction at all, I mostly avoid the subject, and if it does come up, I just slip in small comments and cross my fingers that sexual attraction can be based on cognition just as much as genetics and instinct.)
Anyhow, I was asked a question on my blog about my personal thoughts, and this was them. Not that I don’t like reading about trans!Danny (I’ve seen some beautiful comics), but I just fret too much that I’d offend someone. There seem to be places in general I toe the line of upsetting people as it is, so I’ll just carefully walk my path and greet passersby with a friendly wave, and perhaps a bit of applause for their writing skills~

Chara Dreemurr
"this headcanon is so iconic it’s pretty much considered canon by most of the fanbase. not only that, it enriches the playing experience and has birthed so many interesting forms of storytelling in the fandom!!!"
"Chara narrates multiple interactions in the genocide route of Undertale, but I think they are the narrator for all routes to at least some degree and your actions influence their narration (which is why they are silly in pacifist and very violent in genocide/no mercy

John Hart
"Dhdhdh I know this seems a bit basic, but like my logic here is that he’s a horny man who’s always flirting with everyone so he should come off as super creepy right except he doesn’t because he has Charisma and despite doing multiple murders on screen, he feels Safe, and I attribute this to him being from three millennia in the future where not only is being queer a billion percent more acceptable (he is in fact very queer) but also because he has raised by women vibes, he’s got anger in him, but he knows where to put it and he doesn’t feel like a threat in that way. Canonically yet only thing we know about his parents is that he says that his “parents” so specifically at least two but no gender given took him to a future theme park where he got left behind and traumatized by mascots, I know, anyway give him his bad parents good mothers <3"
