Alright here’s the entire fucking thing because who gives a shit

Hi hello! As I started making my own picrew, i couldnt find readily available tutorials so i might as well put one here? if this is against the rules im so sorry about that hgdiuoji but yeah! also apologies in advance if im not clear, ill try to be as clear as i can but i cant guarantee anything.

so! i cant have any images properly but ill try my damndest to be helpful!

step 1: creating the actual picrew workstation

-youll need an account to make one, but that should be simple enough (im not 100% sure). a not i should say, that itll be much easier for you if you use a browser that translates things for you? because everything is in japanese so unless you can read japanese i suggest doing this

- youll be asked to give a name and pick between kisekae and random. i havent understood the difference myself, but the main one ive seen around on picrew is the kisekae ones so if you dont know itll be easy to default to that

step 2: youre on the main screen, what do you do?

- when youre here you can add a description, icon and tags to your picrew, as well as pick what the picrew can be used for (non commercial, commercial, individual and processing). i havent figured out what these mean but look around at other picrews and base your decision off of those! (you can select multiple out of the 4 options)

-youll see around the top left of your screen, that you have 500 parts available. this seems like one of two things at first, either "oh god thats not enough" or "oh god thats so much". not to worry not to worry! base items count upwards of that 500, but categories and different colour options dont affect it.

Step 3: ive added parts(categories), what now?

-from here on out everything should be decently simple. in "item" youre gonna be able to add items. when you do add an item, theres two boxes, you should put the item in both. if you put it just on the one on the left, youre not going to be able to see it on the picrew, but if you put it just on the right, youre not gonna be able to see the preview thingamajig. with mouths, eyes, facial features etc i should note, you should click on the "trim transparent areas" as it lets you see what they look like without them being small as all hell (its not gonna force the picture to have white borders or anything like that when i first tried it)

-if you go to configuration you will be able to add the category icon, and set whether or not the item can be moved around or rotated, and how many pixels it can move at a time. this is where youre also going to be able to add all the different colour options to be in your hairs, shirts, eyes etc, at the bottom right of the screen after youve scrolled a bit.

- enabling the resize option has caused it for 2 people other than myself for it to go to the top left, and not be where you draw it, so use that option with caution

Sorta step 4: im back on the main screen, what does the layer option mean, next to the parts/categories?

-the layers section lets you figure out if, say, the hair is above the eyes, or if the eyes are above the hair. essentially this works similarly to how a drawing programs have the layers functions.

and that is all! i hope that this was. actually helpful? and also i hope that this isnt against the rules of the subreddit gfindoijp. if any of you end up making your own picrews, i know yall are gonna do great :D! also apologies that this is a wall of text fgoidkpo. feel free to put questions and ill try my best to answer them!

edit: i have recently learned/realized picrew operates on a 600x600 pixel size! if any of your backgrounds end up being weird, or your picrew characters, this is most likely why!

this one hurts to talk about cause it really really REALLY reminds me of late eighth grade and how i lost a lot of myself since that year. theres a lot of bridges i burned and some that just were incidental and i miss being someone people could talk to back then. i felt like myself and although i do regard that time period as a bad time because of the way i was, i will say that it was different and better in some ways and i wish i treasured those friendships and that love when it was happening. i have learned since then, though and i love all the little things in life now since ive lost so much before

i remember this song vividly as sixth grade for me. this was a really rough time, as i had just did myself in with my first online friend group and was really self deprecating then. i didnt have a lot of friends that year and i was really bitter and alone but i bit back at some point. this song reminds me a lot of a person who i wished i could be friends with, as close as we were before, but always so out of reach by their choices that i cant ever face them properly again. its very difficult and i wish i could fix what happened, but i can only do so much, you know?

LIFE ITSELF - GLASS ANIMALS

now this one is just 2016 in general and finding myself through that year. ive loved glass animals for YEARS now and i instantly caved through this whole album. im so glad that it came out when it did cause it really impacted me and i love its sound so so so so much. its just very nostalgiac and warm to me and reminds me of several characters i love and i just.... i miss that year a lot even if it was pretty terrible all around just cause i felt empowered as a person

PORCELAIN - MOBY

i remember playing this song the last day i lived in my old house. it was very hard for me to go from there to where i am now since it was the place i was raised in for several years. i had listened to the song a few weeks before i had left to go visit my cousins in Colorado and hearing it now reminds me a lot about that whole house and everything i expirenced there. i miss my sister as well even if she only lives across the street from me, and my old room. things were simple then

NEWJACK - JUSTICE

this song is just hardcore fun and reminds me a lot of early last year, especially may!! i listened to justice a lot early last year during testing and it really empowered me. its powerful and its warm and fun and im very happy that i felt better after everything happened the year before. 2018 as a whole was really good for my self development, especially at the end, but the beginning was pretty strong too

MIRACLE - CARAVAN PALACE

this song screams the present to me. i love love LOVE caravan palace - have for years - and this song made me love them more. i consider this their best single and im addicted to it. it feels strong and good and reminds me that not everything is doomed and things can work out if you work hard enough!!! its very good

GIVE UP THE GHOST - C2C

haha... this song is very difficult to listen to... this one reminds me of my trip to dc, the summer of 2016 and the emptiness of the end of seventh grade. i was very alone that year and clung to c2c like a lifeline because most of their songs were so fun and welcoming but this one hurts me... i miss that summer. i miss a lot of things, but that time in particular is just wonderful and terrible at the same time. c2c is fantastic, go listen to their one album "tetra" i hope they release more stuff soon
