Fnaf trailer coming out has reminded me of something in fnaf theorizing that bothers me to no end
Why the hell did we decide Michael was the player of fnaf 4.
What purpose does that serve.
How is this a reasonable or satisfying explanation for anything??
"OoOoOoH but Michael drew nightmare fredbear once in the survival logbook so how else would he know what that looks like???" Ok but what if he drew up fucked up lookin versions of the animatronics to scare his brother as a kid, or just cause he was an edgy little shithead teenager drawing fucked up versions of his dad's childrens animal mascots and it happened to scare the hell out of CC because of COURSE it would.
"But pixel it's on the "do you have dreams" page" ok bet Michael drew spooky animatronics, CC saw them and went WAAAA I HAD A NIGHTMARE ABOUT SCARY FREDBEAR and his guilt about bullying his brother stuck with him. Enough to recall it when asked about dreams.
It could also be another case of no matter how you theorize it, fnaf will always have plot holes or details that make no sense.
Maybe it's just me but im willing to go with the easier, albeit slightly headcanon-y solution of Michael Was A Jerk that doesn't require overlooking the obvious details in fnaf 4 that point to the crying child being the player (hospital imagery easter eggs, the players height, the room clearly being a young kids room etc), and doesn't involve William using,, what is it high tech illusion robots???? to torture his children or punish Michael or whatever the explanation is.
Also Michael being the player just makes the story of the game just.. worse. but again, maybe that's just me.
Tldr: fnaf 4 player is Michael theory is kinda dumb and i don't like how it changes fnaf 4's plot and it requires a ton of leaps in logic to justify it and Michael coming up with some spooky shit to scare his brother and recalling it later makes more sense to me.

Oh yeah also while I'm rambling about the books I feel like asking: have you seen the security logbook? It's basically a faux activity book meant to look like it was ripped straight out of the FNAF universe. And it previously belonged to Mike, and actually gives us some insight into his personality.
I have it at home and I can send pictures in like a week when school ends. Tbh I like it a lot :'3
The two things I can remember off the top of my head is that according to it Michael has a habit of excessively chewing gum and is good at drawing
The survival logbook is the only piece of fnaf literature that I'll acknowledge, it is overall pretty self contained and is sprinkled with references from the games whike slso providing some neat lore.
That being said it is still fnaf so it does have dumb aspects of it, like Michael knowing about nightmare fredbear and bringing up the whole MikeVictim debate...

[ Michael is the bite victim.
The logbook has introduced some wild new theories for the identity of Michael Afton, as a result of it’s numerous lore hints and the questions that it raises.
The majority consensus in this community seems to be that “Michael Afton” is not the bite victim, but the foxy brother.
explain the numerous lore hints in the logbook which ask Michael questions as if he was the bite victim. The “Mike is bite victim” theory can explain why Michael in the logbook is asked questions and statements like “the party was for you”, “does he still talk to you”, etc.
“What do you remember?”, “do you remember your name?”.
“Mike”, according to the logbook, appears to have some form of amnesia, and doesn’t remember his name. Like someone would have if they were bit in the frontal lobe.
It is pretty much confirmed since in the survival logbook Cassidy asks Mike if psychic friend Fredbear ( AKA: His Golden Freddy plush that has a walkie talkie in him, William talking to him through it. ) still talks to him and when Mike is asked to draw a dream he recently had he chooses to draw a nightmare animatronic (who only the one dreaming/hallucinating them could know their exact appearance) also he points out that he had the exact same toys as the protagonist in fnaf 4. So the vengeful spirit cannot be the BV since the bv is Mike. Now i know that the kid in fnaf 4 died in the end but how he managed to survive can be easily explained in many ways (especially now with tfc book revelations, William put him back together as a robot) But the point remains undoubtedly -
MIKE = BITE VICTIM ]
