Breaking Down (1/?)
an introspective angsty Garvez fic inspired by the promo for 14x08: Ashely
warnings: discussion of prison
rating: k+ / g
words: 1126
It was the hug that broke her.
Krystall had just accepted Rossi’s proposal (a proposal she knew was coming, thanks to Penelope’s big mouth; she wasn’t sure she’d be able to forgive herself for that one) and the team was celebrating with balloons and champagne and hugs all around.
She’d hugged Dave, of course, murmuring congratulations (and another apology) as she did, and then Krystall. She’d hugged Prentiss, because it’d been a long couple of years but having Emily back in Virginia was making everything so much better.
She’d taken a sip of her drink, smiling and laughing and enjoying the festive vibe, and her mind had wandered gently to the thought that it was odd for something so big to happen in the family without Derek around. She’d thought about weddings; about JJ’s surprise ceremony in Rossi’s backyard and Derek and Savannah’s beautiful, intimate service; and about proposals; about what a nice change of pace it was for Rossi and Krystall to be engaged without anyone getting shot or held captive or tortured.
Standing in the happy first moments of David’s engagement and remembering Will’s and Derek’s proposals had had her mind naturally lingering on similar watershed moments in her own life: Shane Wyeth down on one knee with a black diamond ring she knew he couldn’t afford while she stood wondering if this was really all her future held, Kevin Lynch leaving her alone in front of the FBI elevators because she wasn’t ready to commit to him for forever.
Her heart had clenched and she’d found herself suddenly, violently longing for some semblance of the security she’d felt in the past, when she’d put that ring on her finger and told Shane she’d be his wife, when she’d looked into Kevin’s eyes and thought she’d never need another new gaming partner, when Derek had held her in his arms and she’d been sure that she could stay safe there forever.
She’d looked over at David and Krystall, glowing in the euphoria of their commitment to marry each other again, and couldn’t help but wonder if she’d missed the love of her life somewhere along the line. She wasn’t getting any younger, maybe she should call Sam again, or even Kevin . . .
And then he hugged her.
He wrapped his arms around her unexpectedly and she found herself melting into his embrace, her eyes closing and her head resting gently on his shoulder. She lost herself for a moment, giving into the warmth and comfort of his arms, before all her emotions hit her at once and she realized she was crying and her makeup was going to be ruined and people were going to ask if she was okay and it wasn’t fair to ruin Rossi’s moment by attracting attention to her own problems.
“Uh, excuse me,” she said softly to Luke, turning on her heel in hopes of escaping to her office without causing a scene.
She scurried to down the hall as quickly and as quietly as she could, but Luke must’ve had extra sneaky special agent shoes, because it wasn’t until she stopped to punch in the code to unlock her office that she realized she’d been followed.
“I’m fine, Newbie,” she whispered, brushing aside a tear and immediately wishing she hadn’t called him that. She knew she tended to react to her feelings by putting up walls, and a big part of her wanted more than anything else to let Luke inside that barrier.
Alvez just gave her a soft, sad smile and followed her into her office, then pulled out her chair for her to sit and leaned against her desk to face her.
She looked up into his eyes as he watched her intently, not pushing, just waiting for her to talk to him, but there for when she was ready, and she knew that love wasn’t a thing of her past.
She’d loved Shane, but she’d had to leave for her own sanity.
She’d loved Kevin, but she hadn’t been ready to settle down.
She’d loved Sam, but life pulled them too hard in different directions.
She’d loved Derek, she could admit it now, but he hadn’t loved her - not in the same way.
And now, looking up at a person she’d once sworn up and down to resent for all of eternity, she knew that - God help her - she loved Luke Alvez.
She loved the way he smiled at her, warm and open and kind and forgiving, even when she called him Newbie and told him she didn’t care about his lasagna; and she loved the way he never gave up on what he believed in - including her.
“I love you,” she said suddenly, and the she couldn’t breathe because she’d ruined everything.
Luke was happy with Lisa, her friend Lisa about whom she cared deeply. God, when was she going to learn to keep her mouth shut? She’d never told Derek her real feelings because, as she’d come to realize, their flirting had given her an outlet. Next time she fell in love, she resolved, she needed to start journaling or something, because telling her respected colleague and relatively new but dear friend she loved him was sure to get her the cold shoulder from Alvez and a talking to from Prentiss, at least.
Oh God, what if they wanted to fire her? She wouldn’t just be fired, she realized - she’d go to prison. That had been the deal, work for the FBI or go to prison, and after all these years she’d just royally messed up her gig by blurting out her stupid feelings.
“I’m sorry!” She sobbed. She was really crying now, her whole body shaking and her breath short and tears dripping onto her sweater.
“I don’t wanna die in prison,” she choked out after another minute.
“Wha - prison?” Luke’s eyebrows furrowed as he gently rubbed her back out of apparent lack of anything else helpful to do, and his confusion made Penelope cry even harder.
When Derek has seen those old videos from Shane, she’d been embarrassed, but at least he’d already had some idea about her past. Luke, though, Luke has no idea what she’s talking about, and now he’s going to find out and it’s going to be so embarrassing and he’s going to be even more upset about her confession and she wishes she looked better in orange because she’s about to be wearing a lot of it.
That’s how Emily found them, Garcia crying and muttering incomprehensibly about jumpsuits and yard time while a very confused Alvez smoothed her hair and rubbed her back.
“Uh, guys?” She asked from the doorway. “Everything okay?”
And neither of them knew.

It’s a Love Story- C8
The Tour Life
Tumblr media
{December 27th, 2007 Uniondale, New York Nick-15|Mel- 14}
Melissa stepped out of the van, looking up at the huge arena that the boys would be opening for Hannah Montana at, she never thought that they would get this far so soon. It was crazy to think that just last year at this time, they were playing for 200-300 people at the most.
"So you will be back on a flight to New Jersey 2 days after New Years, Aunt Denise is going to be flying back with you, how does that sound?" Cindy asked, as they grabbed the girl's suitcase out of the back end of the car.
Melissa nodded, smiling at her mom, "that's fine. I-I'm glad i get to spend this time with the boys since they have two more tours planned for next year." she said softly as they made their way into the arena.
Aunt Denise was standing there waiting for the mom and daughter duo, "welcome guys!" she exclaimed and hugged them both, a big grin on her face.
"Nick is in the boys' dressing room down the hall if you want to go find him." Aunt Denise offered, pointing behind her. Melissa nodded and began the trek to the room.
"But Nick don't you want to go out with me, Joe and the dancers tonight?" Miley's whiny, high-pitched voice broke the silence.
"I already told you no, Miles." Nick's cracking, young voice responded. "Sorry, but Lyss is coming on tour with us for about a week, and she's coming today. I want to spend time with my best friend."
"Ugh!" she screeched, stomping her foot and bursted out of the dressing room, as she glared at Melissa, "so you're the 'best friend'?" she asked, a little bit of jealousy in her voice.
Melissa's eyes were wide, and her heart was beating fast, "U-Uhm... y-yeah, y-yeah, i am." she stuttered out, chewing on her bottom lip.
Miley still had this possessive look in her eyes, "just know that I will win him over, i hear the way he talks about you, and how his eyes light up when you're—"
"That's enough Miley, now go." Nick interrupted her, as he came up to the door. He grabbed ahold of Melissa's hand and pulled her gently into the dressing room.
Miley rolled her eyes, walking away with the attitude she was oh so good at using to her advantage.
Once Melissa was safely inside the dressing room and was sitting next to Nick as he placed the guitar back on his lap. She leaned her head against his shoulder, "even though i had just seen you a few days ago... i missed you." she blushed and rested a hand on his thigh.
In the last week, the Jonas' had been home for Christmas, but the next day they had to drive out for the show, even though they had literally been part for a whole 24 hours... she felt incomplete without Nick.
Nick grinned and leaned over to kiss her head softly, and moved her closer to him. "I completely understand babygirl." he whispered, some curls falling right in front of his eyes.
——- Later that night:
The concert had been a huge success, and the boys were exhausted. From Nick's hand stands, and Joe jumping into the dancers' arms, and so much more.
Everybody was ready to pass out, and Melissa smiled gently at Nick as he took off the button down shirt that clung to the tank top he had on underneath. "the concert was amazing!" she exclaimed, kissing his cheek and blushed right after.
From the public eye, Nick and Melissa seemed like they were together romantically... but in reality? They weren't, even though they basically were in all senses, but weren't official.
Nick smiled big at the teenaged girl, and interlaced their hands together as the whole Jonas crew made their way out of the arena, and Melissa slipped the hood of Nick's extra winter coat over her head to shield herself from the fans, media and the constant snowfall.
As they stepped onto the bus, taking off their coats and finally were able to breathe properly, Melissa made her way to her and Nick's bunk that she knew she'd end up sleeping in anyways. "Angel, you wanna stay up with us?" Nick asked, looking at his best friend as she walked away.
Melissa shook her head, "I-I'm super tired babe, I'm gonna lay down." she explained, and kissed his cheek then disappeared.
———- The next day:
Melissa was the last one to wake up, and moved over in the cramped bunk knowing that Nick wouldn't be there beside her because of the promo things him and his brothers had that morning.
    As she laid on her stomach and reached for her phone, she felt her stomach burst with butterflies, as she seen a text from Nick;
From: Nicky💕: Hey baby, sorry i didn't wake you before i left, but good morning. Mom stayed back to be with you. love you. ❤️
She texted back a "I love you more💕" then slipped out of the bunk and went to put her hair up in a high pony then went and hung out with Aunt Denise until the boys got back.
The day went by slowly, always dragging on slower as time went by. She knew at some point she'd have to encounter Miley, and seeing as the pop star really didn't like her all that much, made Melissa's anxiety shot up sky high.
But as she saw Nick finishing up the soundcheck with his brothers, it made all of her worries disappear. She felt extremely proud of them watching as they do what they love.
She was soon pulled out of her thoughts as Miley came up with a smug grin on her face, "you know, Nick is gonna be mine soon. He even kissed me last week before we all left for Christmas."
Melissa didn't want to believe Miley, she really didn't. Because in all honesty, who is more believable? her best friend? or a girl she just met and basically doesn't know at all.... exactly.
She shook her head, "N-No... he wouldn't of... you're lying." Melissa stuttered out, her heart racing so fast she was struggling to breathe.
Miley laughed at the teen's change of composure, "Yes he did. All my dancers are witnesses." she grinned, basically lying through her teeth.
Melissa's brown eyes welled up with tears as her mind raced with a million thoughts, she couldn't get another word out, she was too stunned.
So she did the only thing she knew she could do... run.
She ran back to the bus so fast, didn't care if anyone looked at the two girls with weird expressions. Melissa didn't let the tears fall till she was safely in the bus, hiding in Joe's bunk of all places.
Sobs wrecked her little body as she held onto Joe's pillow tightly and her beloved stuffed animal with a death grip. She was so engulfed in her own confusion and sadness, she didn't realize when Nick came looking for her.
"Angel?" he called out quietly, his long curls bouncing with every step. "What did she say? Why did you run away so quick?" he asked, standing by his bunk and sighed as he seen her little feet sticking out of his brother's bunk.
"Go a-away!" she cried out, her body shivering, she really wanted to be alone... but she wanted her Nick too. She was so conflicted.
Nick pulled the curtain back, and kneeled beside Joe's bunk —as it was on the last level of the bunks— "baby, will you explain to me what Miley said?" he asked, his voice soothing and comforting.
Melissa's little brown eyes peeked up at him, as a whimper left her lips, "she... s-she said that you g-guys k-kissed... and that she was gonna t-take you away from me..." she cried out, hiccuping slightly.
He sighed, rubbing his hand over his face, "I would never, ever kiss her. And you are the only girl in my life... well besides my mom." he chuckled, his lopsided, toothy grin coming out. "I would never dream of hurting you like that." he said softly, and set the pillow to the side and pulled the trembling girl into his lap.
"Y-You promise?" she mumbled, her eyes still glossy as she reached her hands out to clutch onto him.
"I swear." he said softly, and pressed a lingering kiss on her forehead lightly. ——— A.N: now i love Miley with all my heart, but for the plot, and the timeline's sake, i had to make her a bitch. and quite honestly? i think teen Miley would've acted like that when it came to Nick 🤷🏻‍♀️

Coffee Shop is the first setting, with Fluff (Imp) vs. Sensual Moments Unveiled Today (Nalufever)
Episode One ~ The inaugural episode! The Premiere!
By the way... The Inaugural Episode got away from me... I’m sorry Eav!!! (Each segment was supposed to be 300-500ish words.  Er.  I will do MUCH better next time ~ think of this as a double-length TV promo pilot episode!)
Lucy sighed as she made an effort to drink her rapidly cooling coffee.  She’d tried to doctor it with lots of milk and sugar, but it hadn’t helped as much as she’d hoped.  She wasn’t a fan of basic coffee, preferring the frothy, aromatic beverages sold by CelestialJewels, as did so many others.  Unfortunately, CJ’s wasn’t going to hire a newbie barrista like her, but this place might.  At least she’d still get to work in Magnolia, hometown of the entire CelestialJewels franchise.
“... Ms. Heartfilia?”  The voice was thin and sharp, and so was the woman behind it.
“Y-yes?”  Lucy jumped to her feet, knocked the rickety table with her elbow, spilled her coffee, and dropped her purse.  Spilling the coffee was arguably a win, but the overall result was less than desirable.  Especially when a napkin from CJ’s fell out of the overloaded purse.  Unfortunately, the napkin didn’t soak up the milky coffee fast enough to blot out the hearts Lucy had drawn around the central CJ’s logo.
The interviewing manager -- or owner -- stepped back quickly to avoid the puddle, but she’d noticed the napkin and her lips were pursed in distaste.  Lucy felt her heart sink faster than under-frothed cream in a cappuccino.
"I need real help in here, not some dimwit blonde with two left feet!”
Lucy cowered back.  It didn’t matter that her mother had once -- briefly -- been a CJ’s barrista of some renown; in the here and now, this woman’s opinion was the only one that mattered and --
“Heya!”
The door opened with a bang, bell jangling furiously.  A striking young man with spiky, cotton-candy-coloured hair, dancing sage-green eyes, and the best smile that Lucy had ever seen stood framed in the doorway, haloed by the bright, mid-afternoon sun.
Lucy’s heart stopped plummeting and started to beat wildly.  This was the man who had caused her to draw hearts on her CJ’s souvenir napkin.  He was one of the lead barristas for the CJ flagship store in Magnolia -- Lucy had seen him when she’d stopped by for a quick peek at her dream job.  He’d drawn her eye not only with of his classically handsome profile, but also with his crisp, competent movements.
Suddenly realizing that she’d probably been staring, Lucy blushed and took a quick step backwards.  Inevitably, she managed to bump into somebody.
“Sorry!”  Lucy squeaked, careening off the emaciated guy behind her and then slipping on the coffee-soaked CJ’s napkin.  She felt both feet go out from under her and couldn’t repress a small scream.  The floor was cold and hard, and Lucy felt it rushing up to meet her.
Her plunge floor-ward ended abruptly as two strong, warm arms closed around her.  The young man from CJ’s had evidently moved faster than Lucy had imagined possible.  She stared up at him, trying to calm her breathing.  On the one hand, she’d never felt so safe in her life; on the other, she’d never been this close to a man before, since her father had been strict and she’d attended a select girls-only school before running away from home determined to make her own way in life.
“... Thank you...” she murmured shyly to her rescuer.
“Oh, uh, no problem!” The man set her on her feet a little awkwardly, a touch of red appearing in his cheeks.  He suddenly looked much more diffident than he had when he came in.  “Um, yeah, my name’s Natsu--Natsu Dragneel.  It’s a pleasure Miss?”
“Heart--um, I mean Smith.  Lucy.  Just call me Lucy, please.”  Lucy felt as though she were drowning in those beautiful, honest eyes of his, but she was trying very hard to leave her father and his fortune behind her.  The Heartfilia name was just too recognizable.
“Oh--sure thing then, Lucy.”
“If the two of you are quitedone,” snapped the thin woman, “then maybe--Natsu, is it?--can tell me what brings a full-time, hot-shot barrista from CelestialJewels here to our humble establishment?”
Natsu seemed to shake himself, and his sunshine smile reappeared.  Lucy noticed that despite his cheerful manner, he had somehow managed to put himself between her and her prospective employer--and the rail-thin man Lucy had bumped into.
“Yeah, of course, Mrs. Kaze.  Hey Erigor--how’re things?”
Peeping from behind Natsu’s broad back, Lucy realized that Erigor was younger than she’d taken him for at first.  His dark eyes seemed to glare malevolently at Natsu, but he gave the shorter man a slight nod, although he didn’t respond aloud.
“Well, Natsu?”
“Oh yeah, it’s just about the rolls of change we loaned you guys last month.  We’re really running low today, so Gramps said I should see if you had some on hand.”
“We’re low today too,” Erigor answered brusquely, and Lucy realized that he must be an employee.
“I have a few spare rolls in my office,” Mrs. Kaze cut in.  “I’ll have Erigor bring them over to you as soon as I’m finished with Miss Smith’s interview and practical evaluation.”
Natsu glanced down at Lucy and seemed to reach a decision.  Lucy, for her part, had already decided that she didn’t want to work for, or with, Mrs. Kaze and Erigor.
“Actually, Mrs. K, Lucy applied with us this morning--about ten o’clock, wasn’t it?”
Lucy looked up at him, trying to quell a sudden rush of hope.  Did this mean he had noticed her when she stopped by CP earlier?  Had she actually made an impression?
“Did she, now?”
“We need new staff,” snarled Erigor, his tone no longer polite.  “Lucy seems like just the right person for us!”  His eyes flicked over Lucy’s nicely rounded curves and pretty golden hair in a way that made her distinctly uncomfortable.
For some reason, Lucy found her fingers tangling themselves in the back of Natsu’s official CP-barrista vest.  She was surprised and a little self-conscious to realize how comforting it was.
“Oh, sorry to hear that, but that’s life, eh?”  Natsu smiled all around.  “Gramps okayed her app, so she may as well come with me now.  Don’t worry about the change, Mrs. K!  Gramps’ll send somebody over later.  Bye!”
Lucy found herself being hurried outside, mind whirling.  It was all a little overwhelming, and she found herself on the verge of tearing up.  She was torn between anxiety and incipient happiness.
“You mean... me work at, um, CelestialJewels?  Really?  Um, Mr. Dragneel--Natsu?”
“Huh?  Oh, sure.  At least, I expect it’ll be fine.  Just--Mrs. K isn’t a great boss, you know.  Erigor’s her son and just look at the poor guy!  He’d be blown away by a strong wind!”
Natsu had to stop, since Lucy seemed rooted to the ground.
“So... I get to work with you for CP?  That’s so incredible, you have no idea!”
“Sure, um, yeah!  It’s a great place to work, I mean--”  Natsu broke off, unable to tear his gaze from Lucy’s.  Her soft, pansy-brown eyes had the sweetest, most amazing glow in them.  He brushed her cheek with his fingers without noticing what he was doing.  Then they both blushed.
“We should get going.” “Let’s get going.”  The words rang out in concert.
Natsu took Lucy’s hand.  “It’s just to make sure you don’t get lost or something,” he told her, looking at the ground.
“Oh, sure--yeah, that’s, that’s fine...”
Hand-in-hand, they set off down the street towards CP.
Wow, thought Lucy.  He is just the nicest guy.  I hope I get to see him a bit more around the store.  That would be perfect!

Happy Birthday, piccalily0510!
May 10 - Crack-y and/or smutty TaserTricks fic based off the song "Be My Escape" by Relient K, for @piccalily0510
Written by @amusewithaview
Darcy had never really been one for visual metaphors.  Her dreams were pretty straightforward: a cigar was always an actual cigar, and a penis was a penis (sadly, and strangely, her dreams generally featured more cigars than penises).  In hindsight, she really should have known that something was up when she started dreaming of airy halls and golden-gilt walls.  At first, she thought that she was just reliving her prom.  After all, prom had been held at the nicest hotel in the local area - the golden glow and molded trim decorating literally everything was a bit fancier than she remembered, but not totally out of place.
But then, five days into her bizarre high school retrospective, people started populating her dreams.  These were not people she had gone to high school with.  These were tall warriors and well-dressed ladies (sometimes buff ladies and dandy men), all of them looking as if they’d just stepped off of the set of a beauty product promo.
None of them tried to speak with her.  None of them even appeared to notice her as she wandered their glowing, glimmering halls.  It was bizarre, it was unheard of, and she had no idea why her brain had chosen now, of all times, to finally get a handle on the whole ‘abstract dreaming’ thing.  She’d read, somewhere, that any face seen in a dream was an echo of a person you’d encountered in real life, but she was pretty sure she would have remembered hitting up several dozen modeling conventions.  Nothing else would explain the sheer variety of beautiful people she saw, night after night.
Eventually, she got tired of people-watching and started actively exploring her environs.  That should have been her next tip-off: the geography of her dream world was shockingly consistent from night to night.  So much so that she quickly developed an accurate mental map and used it to thoroughly explore the entire space.  Once she had catalogued everything immediately accessible to her (grand hall, stables, assorted bedrooms, dining hall, and more), she moved on to taking advantage of her dreaming state and drifting straight through barred doors.  In this manner she also found a treasure room, a mirror room, a room full of looms and other weaving implements, a library, and a dungeon.
The dungeon was unpopulated the first time she found it, which made her question whether or not it was, in fact, a dungeon.  There were no torture implements (she wondered, if there had been, whether they’d have been as shiny as everything else in this strange place), and it wasn’t entirely underground.  It looked, at first glance, like a barracks with strange nearly see-through demarcations to show separate ‘rooms.’  The rooms had small windows to the outside, but they were barred - albeit, with a lacy golden sort of lattice that she assumed had to be unbreakable.  The gold ‘bars’ were the only thing she’d found that she could not pass through.  This was unusual enough that Darcy stuck around even after she’d thoroughly explored every corner of the dungeon.
Which turned out to be a good (bad?) thing, since, much like with the halls, it took a few days for the people of the dungeon to populate.  Once they did, she settled in for another round of people-watching.  These new people were, in almost every case, just as pretty as the others she’d encountered.  There was one guy who looked like a minotaur and a few others that weren’t human by any stretch of the imagination, but by and large: commercial people.
Darcy wandered back and forth, observing the comings and goings of the guards, and then -
She realized that, for the first time, someone else was watching her.
He had long wavy black hair and the most intense glacier-green eyes she’d ever seen.  Or perhaps they were more of a feline green.  Either way, they were bright and vivid and staring at her.  She wandered up to the golden, lacy bars of his cell and got sucked into a staring contest that seemed to last forever.
It was broken, not when one of them blinked, but when one of the guards walked through her.
Darcy rubbed the heel of her hand over her breastbone, grimacing.  “That always feels so weird.”
Green Eyes tilted his head to one side as if he had heard her and huffed in clear amusement.
“You can see me and hear me.”
He inclined his head just the slightest bit, never taking his eyes off hers.
“Wonder what you did to get stuck in this shiny cage,” she said, idly running her fingers down the ‘bars.’  They threw off red and blue sparks at her touch and she grinned as two of the guards did double-takes at the sight, darting over (she side-stepped to keep them from infringing on her space) and saying something to each other.  She couldn’t tell what they were saying because she couldn’t hear anything.  She’d never been able to hear anything in these strange new dreams of hers.
Which was why it was such a shock, two days later, when Green Eyes spoke to her.
“Why do you come here, night after night, Dreamwalker?”
Darcy made an ‘eep’ noise and jerked so hard she stumbled against the wall.  This time there were no guards coming a-runnin’ - they’d gotten used to seeing sparks fly off of Green Eyes’ cage.  Plus, it appeared to be whatever passed for night in this strange dream.
“Holy shit,” she breathed out, hand fisted over her heart.  “You talk!”
He gave her a distinctly unimpressed look.
“Great, now even my subconscious is judging me,” she muttered.  “Don’t give me that look, I’ve never heard one of you guys talk before.  This is all a bit new.”
“Clearly,” he said, drawing the word out.  He tilted his head to one side, studying her, “You are young, aren’t you?”
“I’m a very mature 26,” she said absently, looking at her surroundings as she tried to figure out of anything else was generating noise.  So far it seemed like it was just Green Eyes.  The guy in the next cell over was snoring, if she was any judge of body language, but she heard not a peep.
“A mortal Dreamwalker,” Green Eyes said, eyes widening for a moment before slitting in calculation.  “Tell me, would you like help to learn these abilities of yours?”
Darcy shrugged, “What’s to learn?  I’m dreaming.  I started a journal to try and make it more lucid but I’m already basically doing what I want to do so… what else is there?”
He moved closer to the golden bars, so close that sparks danced on his side, making his eyes flicker oddly.  “There is so much to see, so much to learn,” he crooned.  “There are galaxies and dimensions beyond what you know, an infinite number of possibilities open to you, little Dreamwalker, all at your fingertips if you only had wit and knowledge to grasp them.”
“And you can impart this knowledge?” she asked skeptically.
“Trapped as I am?” he gestured to his confines.  “Regrettably, no.”
“Is this the part where you ask for my assistance in your daring escape?”
He shrugged.  “I will escape, little Dreamwalker, with your help or no.  Give me your aid and I will be your teacher and guide.  I will show you how to travel dreams without becoming ensnared in nightmares.”
Darcy considered his offer, really considered it.  On the one hand, this was probably all still a dream.  An actual dream.  She didn’t have powers, she probably just had indigestion.  On the other hand, if it was real…  Green Eyes didn’t exactly look dangerous, but -
Well, he didn’t look harmless, either.
Still, even if she did set him free, she was on Earth and he was… wherever here was.  He’d have to find her before attempting to do her a mischief.  What did she have to lose?
“Freud would have a field day,” Darcy muttered to herself.  “All right, what do you need me to do?”
Green Eyes smiled victoriously.  “You won’t regret this,” he promised her.
Darcy kind of already did.

"I asked you the day you left, 'Is there anything you want to take with you?' And you said, 'No,'" Kris says, sounding annoyed. "I said, 'You don't want a picture? You don't want a memory? You don't want a candle? You don't want a glass?'… And now you want a gun?"
"The only problem I have with the gun is it’s registered under my old name," Caitlyn explains. "I've gotta get that changed. I've got everything changed."
Caitlyn's explanation prompts Kris to ask her a more pointed question about whether or not she'd consider undergoing gender confirmation surgery, but Caitlyn isn't interested in having that conversation.
"You know what? Don't even go down this road because I'm not talking about it," Caitlyn says.

However, that isn't the only question Kris has about her ex's transformation, and the years they spent together when Caitlyn was still living as Bruce Jenner.
"You know what I was gonna tell you? I always wondered why you peed sitting down," Kris shares.
"When you're struggling with your identity, there's little things you can do [that] just make you feel better about yourself," Caitlyn explains.
"It was kind of perfect," Kris replies. "Because I never had to yell at you for not putting the seat down."

The pair also exchange small talk about their personal lives, but it's evident that they both felt a bit on the defensive.
Talking about her day-to-day hectic schedule, Kris jokes, "I'm like a fireman. All I do is put out fires, all day long. That's my job. I'm gonna get one of those yellow suits and a hose."
Caitlyn suggests that Kris should come over to her house, where she can relax and enjoy the view.
"Well, any time you want some action, you can just come here, and it's chaos 24/7," Kris notes.
"Those were the old days when I came here for action," Caitlyn quips.

Despite their somewhat bitter past and their guarded demeanor, Kris can't help but be optimistic about what their little get-together represents.
"I think it's a really positive step in a great direction," Kris says in a solo interview.
However, as we've seen in other sneak peeks, Kris has something of a change of heart when she reads Caitlyn's memoir and finds quite a few things to get outraged over.

Kris Jenner and her ex, Caitlyn Jenner, have had a tumultuous relationship following their divorce and Caitlyn's subsequent transition, but the former couple is trying to take positive, reconciliatory steps on this week's new Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
In this brief sneak peek at the upcoming episode, Caitlyn visits Kris at her home, and she brings along a manuscript of her new memoir. It's clear that things are still tense between the two -- who were married for nearly 14 years -- but they both are trying to come to terms with the nature of their relationship.
Although Caitlyn doesn't make things easy when the first question she asks is about a gun she left in the house when she moved out.
