#sorry let me rant real quick in the tags #cw personal #once again hitting an insurance pothole bc the psych says she accepts my OHP plan HOWEVER the therapy group she is contacted with says #THEY don't #they only accept the insurance if it's through my employer but NOT through the government?????????????? #so there's still some kind of payment??? #anyway I want to scream why is this so complicated #like will she take my insurance or not who's right here #anyway called her back directly and went to voicemail so now I've done all I can for now #why the hell is this so hard man #the person on the phone didn't know really how to explain #once again no one knows what they're talking about #like can y'all not communicate and figure this out? #AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH #i need to get an ADHD eval before my next PCP appointment in june so that they will continue giving me my meds #and the psychiatry through the hospital has a limited number of visits that insurance will cover #*contracted #not retyping all of that #and once again the only reason this is so stressful is because the psychiatry group at the hospital fumbled the communication ball last tim #and the psychiatrist I was with never put the ADHD on the chart #and now somehow it's MY responsibility to fix that> #UGH #like I am grateful to have some kind of coverage but holy shit is the US healthcare system in shambles #the bureaucracy is INSANE #i had to just sit down and put my head in my hands for a second #and then go 'right okay nothing i can do about that rn moving on' #uGH #literally said 'what the FUCK' out loud a couple times #like not on the phone after I hung up obvs

I strongly urge the Congressmember to support and help pass H.R. 6270, the State-Based Universal Health Care Act, introduced by Rep. Ro Khanna of California. This bill helps states test universal health plans that could be a model for a national plan - a Universal, Simple, and Affordable (USA) plan. A USA plan will drastically reduce administrative overhead, freeing billions of dollars for our health care and general welfare. With your support, states can save money and provide health care for all their residents. How H.R. 6270 moves us toward health care that is universal, simple, and affordable (USA): Mandates that participating states guarantee healthcare coverage for at least 95% of residents in the first 5 years, thus reducing the uninsured and underinsured populations to less than 5% (currently 30% in most states). Requires any state-based plan to have benefits equal to or greater than those received by beneficiaries of federal healthcare programs. Allows states to cooperate on multi-state plans. Section 1332 of the ACA does not. Enables states to integrate Medicare funds into a state plan. Section 1332 does not. This is critically important for equity. Please work to pass this bill, and then get to work passing Medicare For All. Nothing else will fully solve our healthcare crisis.

what the federal poverty line is as a concept

what being at 150% of the FPL means

how your percentage of the FPL impacts how much of your annual income you're required to pay for health insurance, like how if you're at 250% of the FPL the max you might be required to pay is 4% of your annual income based on the idea that the ACA pays the rest

#technically the last point is specifically like #if the minimum coverage bronze plan is $6000 a year youd pay max 4% of your annual income for thay insurance #and the government would pay for the rest #you can still get better insurance to be clear #ir would jusy be like. $40 instead of $3

#cvs like u have medicaid so u dont qualify for the bridge covid vaccine program. but also ur medicaid is inactive bc u have third party #insurance so u cant get vaccinated thru medicaid. #medicaid like our records say u have third party insurance through ur school. get the vaccine thru them. #ur school like yes we registered u as having school healthcare in every state system but then u waived coverage #but none of the records got updated so it still says ur on the school plan. so u can't get insurance or healthcare anywhere else. #but also u can't get insurance here bc u waived all services :) hope this helps :) #ANYWAYS its figured out now fingers crossed but like GIRL.................................................

I'm excited for some stuff happening this summer!! A local trans organisation is hosting some pool parties, and I'm hoping to attend!! I tried on my swimsuit earlier to make sure it still fits, and I'm all set :3 I'm planning on taking my partner to one of the pool parties when they're visiting and I'm very very very excited about it!!!!
