1. are you named after anyone?

yes, my great-grandfather who had a big impact on the family despite / owing to his early death. his first name is my middle name.

2. when was the last time you cried?

phew, the last time i remember was in late 2019, early 2020 when talking about my grandmother’s death in therapy. i may have cried since, but i don’t remember. unfortunately, i don’t cry easily.

3. do you have kids?

no. i think would like to care for children some day, in some capacity, if i’m ever in a position to do so. i wouldn’t reproduce for ethical and personal reasons, but i might adopt.

4. do you use sarcasm a lot?

oh yes.

5. what sports do you play / have played?

the only sport i really pursued is martial arts. judo, karate, kung fu, kickboxing, mixed martial arts. i’d started training with tonfas and katanas as well, but that was some time ago. i still train with and without my tonfas every now and then, but only solo these days.

6. what's the first thing you notice about people?

really depends on the person and under which circumstances i encounter them. different things stand out for different people. if i just pass them by on the street, it’ll probably be how they move. that is to say, where are they going? how slow or fast are they? do they see me? are they looking at their phone? are we in danger of bumping into each other? do they expect me to step out of the way? quick vibe check to determine if too many or not enough people step out of their way. everything i can gauge without looking at them directly for too long.

even in passing, i’ll sometimes notice when someone’s wearing something particularly elegant, is very beautiful, graceful, or has some other peculiarity. another thing that can be hard to miss and that i pay special attention to are people’s voices and their volume.

7. what's your eye colour?

results are inconclusive. the most accurate description i can give is blue-green-grey with light brown/golden rings around the pupil. people tend to become more puzzled, the more they try to settle on a colour.

8. scary movies or happy endings?

yeah... these are not mutually exclusive, but it’s gotta be scary movies for me.

9. any special talents?

language/s and low-level telepathy.

10. where were you born?

a small town in southwest germany, close to france.

11. what are your hobbies?

reading, writing, singing, translating.

12. do you have pets?

no, alas 😢 my parents have two cats and a dog, and i still think of the cats as ours even though i don’t live with them anymore. pretty sure the cats still think of me as part of the family, too. they’re always really happy to see me. haven’t met the dog, so we don’t have a relationship yet.

13. how tall are you?

170 cm or 5'7''

14. favourite subject in school?

probably english

15. dream job?

I'm really glad there's a part of Tumblr that's not going along with the nonsense the fandom is putting out. The sense of entitlement in these people is insane, and as a bi woman, the fact that they're using LGBT rights to justify it pisses me off. So anyway, thank you for being a light in the storm! :)

Happy to provide a counter-perspective to that dominant one! I feel much the same in how a serious issue I care about is being misconstrued like that! Hope I can continue to express my perspective well.

I agree with you- BBC Sherlock is a decent show, but Christ, it's getting EVERYWHERE. And that's not even mentioning how toxic and awful the fandom can be.

Yeah I don’t think that aspect about the fandom is specific to BBC or anything though, with any area where there are really large numbers in a group you’ll have cool people and invariably you’ll also have idiots, just as a matter of statistics.

What irks me is the constant failure to distinguish between BBC and ACD canon as if they’re both the same thing, and the failure to recognise differences where they obviously are different. Thinking of a trait BBC’s Sherlock has? Don’t generalise it to Holmes unless you’ve read canon and you know it’s there too. Will it kill people to refer to canon Holmes as Holmes? Is it so difficult to explicitly state BBC when that is what is being referred to? People go around calling Holmes Sherlock and Watson John regardless of what version it is when it’s really only BBC (and Elementary) that uses first names. People tag Sherlock everywhere and on everything that is mildly related to Holmes as if Sherlock is the default, and tag victorian!lock on canon posts and everything else as if those versions are somehow the anomaly. I would have thought that BBC was the anomaly against a tradition where Holmes is, by virtue of being Holmes, inextricably linked to the Victorian setting, and the Victorian aspect should go without saying.Want to tag victorian!lock? Go ahead, do that for the BBC Victorian Special (although it’s my understanding that there’s a specific tag for that anyway). But other versions have names of their own and they don’t deserve to be fudged into the great big void of simply ‘not-BBC’.

So John doesn't seem to be married in the clip but Mary is in the special. So what if the special is based on The Sign of Four and we get to see John and Mary meet.

Oh, gosh what if? If he’s still living at 221B, it’s very possible. If that’s the case, we might actually get a Western canonical adaptation of The Sign of Four with the wedding and warstan happiness.

Of course, who knows how it’s going to go with how meta this episode is going to be.
