hey ahhh I love okyakusan I love enablers . im going to be the most annoying person on this soapbox. also literally rewriting this because I lost the note this was in like I said not writing it in Tumblr post would be a better idea OH WELL ! I was just spouting nonsense there anyway what was I talking about. ohh right my Adachi rightt right….

The thing with Adachi and how he’s kept me up at nights is how much there is to do with him. In this case with gsaslau, he’s not just “empty,” he’s “emptied”

While I write like there’s a million subplots going on simultaneously in this au (which is. right) the thing about Adachi being the central character somewhat is because of his bond with Mim and what that means for everyone’s Gas Station Attendant Social Link

If we did consider myth, then yeah, we have Izanagi and Izanami; Souji and Marie, Adachi and well. Yeah.

There is significance to each other’s life by the motif of this myth alone. Not even being specific if they’re family, friends, lovers, or adversaries, because it could be that secret third thing (‘you have more than three options’ yeah I know that)

Mim and Adachi’s relationship is so special in a way that it’s like that Tumblr post it’s like. It’s like this

God’s goal of their social experiment was there to truly determine what humans wanted. Sure, they were born out of the desire to veil the truth and accept more palatable blissful lies, but they went out of their way to confirm that and see if humans had the strength to see past it all and live their lives in truth as they’d always been.

Choosing three human individuals with the qualities at the end of the spectrum and the in-between: to be full of Hope, or full of Despair, or to be nothing but a swirling black hole of Emptiness.

That Izanami tried to push the limits of these qualities as well. How far can Hope be hopeful before falling to despair. Can that of Despair actually stand on his own to feet and be hope for everyone else. Can Emptiness… not be empty.

Izanami saw a literal blank slate enter Inaba. Not anybody who’s lived in Inaba their entire life (Namatame), not anybody who’s returned to Inaba to live their life (Souji). God peeked inside a man’s hollow heart and decided to fill it. Besides taking the most convenient human occupation for that moment, the attendant may as well have come out of that mold and was there to be everything Adachi needed. Trimming out any excess, filling up bubbled spots, polishing everything here and there as time went by. Having to be there for the other pawns they want to keep a close eye on and changing and adapting like a clay doll, remolded and and reshaped to their will, but otherwise staying the same to the mold it first came out from.

Until the imperfections couldn’t be hidden. The fog was seeping, the maggots were crawling, the rot was wafting, the scars were showing. But there should be more to an attendant than working at the gas station, right? Let him have wishes to take care of his home. Never figure out where he goes when it’s not raining. Don’t ask for his name but rather know him by all the things he talks about that is everything but anything about him.

God just made a puppet just enough for the humans they needed to get close to. And what if the self-sabotaging man says he doesn’t like idiots, maybe that’s exactly what he needs. What if he needs someone so much that isn’t like him that he can just be himself. What if he needs something to take care of because he can’t take care of himself. Give him something he’s good at doing and he’ll do it. Give him someone who won’t care what he’s doing and just enjoy him for the person he is. Then take it all away just to see how empty he can get.

What’s worse than being having nothing the whole time—actually having something and now you lose it? What’s the point of learning to love having never loved before then all if it’s taken from you? Why be filled to the brim from a half empty glass only to be tipped over and have your heart spill all over the floor? Was it just better to be empty the whole time, or be emptied from being so full?

Mim literally had a Teddie moment and said “wow I’ll make something so loved and appreciated just so I can stay close to the things I need to monitor” then fucking realized “hey I like it this way actually maybe bonds are a good thing.” Then they remember they have a fucking JOB to do and they’re like “ohh just kidding im a fucking monster they won’t love the real me anyway (god)” and do a Marie and take everyone’s memories of them— the attendant. Because they don’t just want to make a separate sentient being of the identity they just accepted was their own self. If there was going to be an attendant, it would be them. But since they can’t be there, then there’s also no attendant to keep these memories and hearts occupied.

They ran away hoping to cut off all their bonds so people won’t regret associating with a monster, leaving a bunch of people with botched memories and holes in their lives. And they did a really bad job at cleaning up, that there are people who are still chasing after them because these people care. And they don’t WANT these people to pursue the truth because they’ll be so disappointed. Mim ends up trying to erase themself entirely so there’s nothing to chase. The world would be so free and pristine and clear of their influence because they’re gone DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR TO YOU

Mim saw Adachi and said “how can I stay close to this fucking miserable man who I need to use to stimulate this city and get the results I need” then subsequently poured themself into a mold of the emptiness in his heart and out came the attendant. Look at this guy who’s so stupid, who’s an actual idiot, a prettyboy who knows nothing about the outside world, who has a skull so thick and a humor so odd. Literally everything Adachi isn’t—but that was the point. Bitch just interpreted the emptiness inside him and filled him and now they’re fucking worsties besties it’s ridiculous. This is what watching chair car adventure 100000000000 times does to a motherfucker

Mim’s stupid foggy attendant body starts literally melting in the summer heat. Anxious that people would call them out, but being sympathized with and being told they’re just not good in the heat, like other humans. Getting callouses so rough and actually bleeding from a cut on their finger when they thought fog would just seep out. Putting their hand in in their mouth and actually tasting the oil and wax they’ve been working with the whole time. Getting so hot or laughing so hard they actually get flushed until the tips of their ears. Wondering if the maggots crawling in their body made their way out, when the beetles they found in Namatame’s truck made their way into their sleeves and scuttle away. That maybe they didn’t smell like burnt rot, but rather car exhaust and gasoline and tomato juice they spilled on their pants. That maybe when they pull back their sleeves or look under their shirt it could be skin with lungs breathing and a heart beating rather than decaying flesh hanging off of bone.

Adachi learning how to open his heart to things and let things inside, while a puppeteer stops puppeteering and their smiles actually hurt their face because they can’t stop. Both becoming more human again in their own ways, the other quite literal. Both running away and sabotaging themselves for the sake of the people and the home they learned to love, neglecting to love themselves. I’ve made them both so alike it’s sickening even to me but it’s so fun I have dolls that are beaten up so much I drive their faces into the ground because that’s how I play with dolls and have fun SORRYY

And this is how they are best friends. Which is an essay that is just as badly structured but still expresses what I want to say probably. I lied actually. There’s more than one, but still.

AO3 discourse is particularly annoying because I already do the whole non-profit rant in the non-tumblr sphere of my life and I’m honestly irritated about how much time and energy I’ve put into learning how to read tax forms just so I can browbeat misinformation speculators with True Fiscal Facts, and at least in [other sphere] people like me doing that work have become commonplace enough that other people will whip out The Facts without me having to rewrite one of my millions of essays about it, but you can’t fucking foster that kind of herd sensibility on tumblr. But like you don’t even have to do the work of sifting through 990′s in the case of the OTW! They’re fucking transparent already! The 2020 budget with breakdowns all the way to expenses spreadsheets are the first fucking thing on their website! And besides that, all the same Very Basic Principles of non-profits still apply, for example that they can’t just fucking keep the extra donation revenue they get, at least not for very long. Just say you’re spouting nonsense moral opinions, don’t donate, and shut up! Spreading misinformation is worse than just being a responsible person who has opinions. God, people who can’t even be bothered to learn basic premises about how non-profit organizations work or how to do background research are going to be so fucked over and end up donating to like Autism $peaks or some shit because they don’t do any fucking amount of fact checking for themselves and they just take whatever shitty circle they’re running with at their word.

Well, I choose yume for this and the above two images represent their relationship pretty well. They are my favourite illustrations and one can actually see the love they both have for each other. It’s like no one else matters. You can actually see the tenderness in their eyes, how much they care for each other.

InuKag : they were born for each other.

Sei and Shimako : sensitive couple. Adorable and sweet.

Sakura and Syaoran : love that transcends time and space.

Touya and Yukito : meant to be together in every world.

Seishirou and Subaru : they are meant to fall for each other.

Kamui and fuuma : just admit you love each other.

Akihiko and Misaki : meant to be together.

Nowaki and Hiroki : sometimes second love is true love.

Yona and Hak : always there for each other.

Kaname and Yuuki : eternal lovers.

6.What’s your go-to episode or scene when you need ship feels?

Well, this one is difficult because there are tons of scenes which I love but I’ll do my best.

Inuyasha and Kagome :

When Naraku reveals who he is for the first time in ep 21. Any episode with Koga, that really shows inuyasha’s jealousy. The movies…god. First and second movie. All scenes I guess.

Sei and Shimako :

Season two episode 6. Though there are scenes in many episodes of season 1 too.

Sakura and Syaoran :

When Yuuko gives them new bodies and real syaoran is born. In the beginning when sakura is planning to tell she loves him but in the end couldn’t. When syaoran fights kamui. When Syaoran is killed by his son and his greatest regret is that he couldn’t hear those words. I guess I should stop. At this rate I am going to end up with an essay.

Touya and Yukito/Yue :

When touya gives his power to yue. I ship yue and touya and yukito and touya. The last scene in original cardcaptor sakura manga where they are together in the kitchen. When touya corners yukito in school, he knows something is up.

Seishirou and Subaru :

Of course the scene in which seishirou dies. Goddammit. I can’ t think about it. Subaru loses his senses [ in Tokyo Babylon] when seishirou’s eye is gouged out. This is getting too painful for me. I’ll stop.

This pairing reduces me to tears. They belong together. They should’ve been together with hokuto and kakyou.

Kamui and Fuuma :

Little fuuma helping little kamui in one of the extras. Well, just read X. The whole thing is unresolved sexual tension between the two. The creators said it themselves they are soulmates, I mean even in TRC one can see there is something going on between them. Subaru and seishirou is blatantly obvious.

Misaki and Akihiko :

When haruhiko kidnaps misaki, when akihiko comes to pick up misaki from his brother’s house, the train scene. There are many scenes especially the ones with Ijuiin Kyou.

Nowaki and Hiroki :

Again, there are many scenes. The library scene. Goddammit. It reduces me to tears every time. When hiroki spies on nowaki, then sends him flowers. Aww. Just remembering them brings a stupid smile to my face.

Yona and Hak :

Episode 24 of the anime, in manga when that festival happened in one of the villages and yona danced in the village garb. There are many scenes throughout the manga.

Kaname and Yuuki :

Well, volume 11 and 12 scenes. Then the scenes after yuuki sees kaname’s past, end of volume 13 and beginning of volume 14, all the scenes in which yuuki says she needs to go to her kaname. When yuuki takes kaname’s blood after being awakened. There are many scenes.

7.What song or songs remind you of your favorite fandom, character or ship?

Hmm, as such no song in particular.

I did read a fanfiction though which had, “I am watching you” for seishirou and Subaru and I couldn’t help but find it hilarious.

And I think, A Thousand Years by Christina Perri suits yume. It’s true after all.

8. If the creators of your favorite fandom asked you to write the ship canon-confirmation episode, what will you write/how will it happen?

Hmm. Well, I hope yuuki gets reincarnated somehow and she and kaname live a long happy life together. Maybe kaname is going somewhere and he bumps into a girl, who has long brown hair and when they look at each other he realizes it’s the girl from his memories. And that’s it. After that kaname never sees the butterfly familiar because yuuki is with him now.

X is never gonna end but I always had a feeling that both fuuma and kamui would die. Because fuuma said that only kamui can grant his wish. They both die.

Then they are shown together in another alternate universe.

I always thought fuuma and kamui suffered equally. You cannot weigh their suffering. Fuuma lost everything because kamui made one choice. Their story is too tragic.

I’ll come back to this question later.

9.Do you prefer to indulge in (consume or create) fanart or fanfic of your favorite ship?

Sometimes I sketch and I create edits for my favourite series. And I enjoy seeing fanarts and manga colourings. I write fanfictions too. I love reading fanfictions.

10.Smut or fluff? (VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION xD)

Both. Both. I love both.

11.What ship are you embarrassed to admit you like?

Not one. They are all great ships. Nothing to be embarrassed about.

12.What task are you most likely to procrastinate so you can indulge in your ship or fandom?

I sacrifice my sleep sometimes. That’s about it.

13.How many hours of the day do you spend reading fanfic or looking at fanart or other media?

When there is nothing to do, quite a lot of hours. But when exams are there, I see how the preparation is. But I usually spend quite a lot of time on it.

14.How many memorabilia’s do you own of your favorite fandom or ship (clothes, plushies, etc.)?

Well, I’ve got lots of volumes of each series and artbooks too. And I’ve also got drama CD’s of some series and magazines.

15.If you could own one authentic item from your favorite fandom world, what would it be?

Hmm. Not anything in particular.

16.What fandom have you found to be too toxic to deal with?

Ah. The best question. Well, I haven’t been in inuyasha fandom but I know it’s pretty weird because for some bullshit reason kagome is shipped with sesshoumaru and inuyasha is portrayed as a person who violates her. Yikes.

Now, I have got nothing against shipping characters who aren’t together. I do that a lot but when the same people come onto inuyasha/kagome and sesshoumaru/kikyo fanarts and spout shit, well I get angry then. Because I adore sesshoumaru and kikyo. It doesn’t happen but I still like it and it has the most gorgeous fanarts ever.

If sesskag and rinsess, which is weird no matter how it’s cut, shippers come and say this would’ve been better if it was sesshkag fanart / fiction, well I get angry then. Sesshoumaru is my favourite character ever and I really don’t like seeing people think he only belongs with sesskag shippers. What the hell?

He is no one’s property. The only character he remotely showed something for was Kagura. And I am not gonna open Sesshoumaru and Rin thing. That is....well. Let’s just leave it.

Clamp fandom. I dunno…I am not particularly in it but I read some comments on some sites and it’s pretty annoying when some people say you must acknowledge kotori and kamui thing.

Sorry, there was no thing.

Kotori was obsessed with kamui. Did she deserve to die. Hell no. But kotori and kamui just doesn’t exist. I mean the creators themselves said : don’t call kamui and fuuma brothers. No. They are soulmates. Fuuma is all what kamui thinks about. Even in colour illustrations which shows the group, Kotori is always seen glomping kamui like some weird obsessed fangirl. It’s disconcerting. Kamui is always shocked or surprised. Well, whatever kamui and fuuma belong together.

And now the most toxic fandom. Vampire knight. I stopped posting in the tags quite a while back because I am just tired. I’ve had enough.

Zeki shippers : unable to accept yuuki loved kaname way more than she loved zero. It’s blatantly obvious if you read the manga. But the shippers are not only rude but they also get personal and insult the blogger. They mock the other shippers and keep on ranting and raving about abuse and whatever nonsense that was prevalent in the forums between 2010-2014. Now the same thing happens here on tumblr.

Zeki shippers are unable to accept that not everyone worships zero’s character. Honestly, I never hated zero. I was always like, I want kaname and yuuki together, zero can be with someone else. But his fans and shippers are just nasty. I’ve never encountered a single decent member of this ship. They are rude and insulting and love to send anon messages.

Nope. Not fond of tattoos.

I can hardly bear to look at Yandere Simulator stuff on Tumblr anymore

It’s all complaints and hatred, and it makes me sad.

People seem to expect Yandere Dev to just churn out content to please them.

Newsflash. Yandere Dev is a PERSON.

He’s implementing a time consuming feature that he’s never tried to implement before. He’s bound to run into stuff that he wasn’t expecting.

I suppose none of you have ever estimated how long it would take to do something, then realized that you were horribly wrong?

Nothing he does seems to please you people.

Let me just take a look at the first couple complaints I can find...

I won’t credit who these belong to because I don’t want to deal with a bunch of people coming down on me for daring to not agree with them. I deal with enough of that kind of nonsense in my real life, I don’t have patience for that kind of madness online when I just want to relax and fangirl. You’re entitled to your opinions. And I am entitled to disagree, and spell out why I disagree. You, in turn, are allowed to spell out why you think I’m wrong. However, either of us can ignore the other. Isn’t having free choice grand?

These complaints are way too easy to find, by the way.

“He so blatantly hates his fanbase”

Um... if I only had to do a quick Google search to find piles of people spreading slander and hate about me, I’d probably hate your guts too. My goodness. Honestly, this ticks me off, and hate’s not even being expressed towards me. There are ENTIRE TUMBLRS DEDICATED TO PEOPLE HATING HIS GUTS AND COMPLAINING ABOUT HIM. IF YOU THINK THAT SEEING THAT WOULDN’T MAKE YOU A LITTLE BIT HUFFY WITH YOUR FANDOM, I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHY.

But that aside, I’ve never seen him express hate towards his fan base. Frustration with them yes. If you had people emailing you constantly with unimportant things while you were trying to work, you’d probably be annoyed too. If you had people blatantly complaining about you and your work speed and everything you did or said, while you were working hard, you’d be pretty upset too. But hate? I’m sorry, I just don’t see it.

A lovely quote that sums up how I feel from @pipermccloud “ The reason why the Dev is getting frustrated with ‘critics’ is because its actually 10% critics, 90% whining”.

“Listen man, unless these fans are coming to your house and deleting game files, I find it hard to believe they slow down development.”

This illustration isn’t perfect, but think about this. If you’re, say, dusting your room, and someone comes in and starts talking to you, you can probably still focus on your work, but you might be distracted.

Now imagine having a couple hundred people come in and start all asking you things and wanting things from you. Would you have the same focus and get the job done at the same rate? I highly doubt it.

I understand where this is coming from. But if he wants people to stay interested, it’s good for him to be involved with the fandom. It makes my day to see that he’s liked a post of mine about Yandere Simulator. That kind of thing is the sort of thing that keeps people interested.

Why is that a problem???? I mean, if he was developing DLC instead of working on the game, I would understand the issue. But he’s just mentioning ideas. What’s wrong with throwing out the ideas for people when it takes like,what, five minutes away from the game? I just don’t understand why people are so huffy about that.

“if the only size diversity dev is going to give us is boob size”

As a girl who’s on the heavier side, I’d love to see some size diversity. But I also understand that there are probably more important things to prioritize at the moment. It’s not like you see that much anywhere else in these types of games. It’s just not that type of game. The body types are more idealized than anything else. As I recall, the guys have even less diversity, and you don’t see too many people commenting about that. Size diversity would be nice, but I feel like it’s not the end of the world if he keeps it the way it is.

Also, on that subject, I don’t get why people seem to take design decisions so personally? Like, it’s just his ideas. You don’t have to like it, but the fan base frequently seems to just hate on what he says and does just because they can. And that ticks me off.

I’m not going to go off about the more personal stuff, like people calling him a pedophile and a pervert and a thief and saying he harassed them in one way or another, because I don’t know enough about the situations and people that were involved. It’s not my place to point fingers or call names when it comes to things like that.

I would like to remind people to think carefully before they say things like that. That’s called SLANDER if it’s not true.

Slander is “the action or crime of making a false spoken statement damaging to a person's reputation”.

You can think whatever you want. I’m not the thought police. But if you want to spout off stuff like that online without a CONCRETE reason, that’s called slander. And you can be sued for that. You probably won’t be because it’s the internet and there’s anonymity and suing people is expensive and all that. But just because you can doesn’t mean it’s fair or right.

I could go on all day, but today’s my day off and I want to relax.

Basically, I’m just sick of seeing people ripping into everything he does. I feel like everything he says and does gets criticized for often really no reason. Now, I’m not trying to portray him as a saint or something. There are things that he says and does that I won’t defend because I don’t agree with them. He has done things worth criticizing - it’s just that people don’t understand that sometimes, enough is enough.

I haven’t really decided on my feelings about everything he does. I’ve seen some of the responses he’s put up to people criticizing him and I just cringe. Sometimes, swallowing your pride and apologizing is easier than defending yourself, even if you believe you were in the right.

But hey. If I had multiple blogs that existed to criticize everything I do, I would probably feel pretty defensive too.

Yandere Dev isn’t some kind of crazy monster. He’s a person. Typically, those don’t always get everything right or behave perfectly.

Funny how you don’t have to like everything a person does to not spread hate about them, isn’t it?

Sorry for sounding like an angry rage monster when I make posts like this, but I’ve had QUITE enough of this kind of behavior.
