I got into DnD recently so here's what I think each of the Jury of Nine would play as (Zane included because he's a Juror in my mind):

- Zane. Cleric. Evil, evil Cleric. He doesn't heal anyone ever. I will not elaborate.

- Ivy is 100% a Barbarian. That girl kills for fun and I respect her for it <3

- Janus is a very high level Fighter. Specifically strength based. OP.

- Ivan's a Warlock, obviously. He has 11 hit points and keeps picking fights with NPCs and dying

- Lillian is a Rouge solely for the sneak attack function

- Jeffory is also a Cleric but will actually heal other members of his party unlike some people previously mentioned

- Katelyn is a Paladin. Don't ask why, I don't know, it's just vibes.

Small idea of the Minish fam dressed for Halloween. Ruby is a fire mage, Beryl is Zora inspired, Gale is the hero of men, Venus is that Princess Deku, and Bismuth and Ivan are Twi and Wolf based. Bonus of Venus as Vaati, he would never dress as him though unless maybe for mischief

Completed:

Mary Calmes - His Consort - clearly meant to be a series and I might have waited if that had been more clear. feels very like her werecat series but without the super intense chosen one/only gay in the village vibes, if you’re familiar with her other works. not bad.

LC Davis - Lightbearer - pretty awesome demon romance novel that takes a weird turn about three-quarters of the way through. enjoyed it but it could have ended stronger for me without The Thing That Happened. don’t worry, still an hea.

Ruby Dixon - The King’s Spinster Bride - only my second book from dixon but it was fun. i am all over the het romance style i recently saw described as Local Man in Awe of His Amazing Wife and this is def that. she saved his life when he was 8 and he was like “i am going to marry her” and his dad the king was like cute but not a chance. he becomes king and first thing he does? GETS HIM HIS WIFE. good job, bro. also: v good for readathon, short cheerful read.

AJ Sherwood - How to Train an Assassin - i almost didn’t manage to save this one til today! i have literally read every one of sherwood’s other books. i very enjoy the writing style and choices, which, sometimes you have to pick on or the other. can’t wait for ivan’s book, dying for kyou’s because his LI is already heavily foreshadowed even if he’s yet to appear actually on-page (that phone convo!!!).

Abandoned:

T Kingfisher - Minor Mage - was super excited for a snarky armadillo familiar but only got through chapter one. readathon is not the time for a book with an opening as upsetting as “mob strenuously encourages 12 yo onto dangerous quest to save town alone before his mom can get back into town and make them not do that”. i have feelings about that shit and my feelings are: fuck that town, circle back around, meet up with your mom, leave them all to die (this is why i would be a bad chosen one).

Rating Jury of Nine members based on how physically strong I think they are (my opinion):

1. Janus. They are OP. Like, could kill you without even trying level of strong. He's too powerful for this world that's why jesson killed them off before we even got to meet them in the og diaries

2. Ivy. It's heavily implied she killed Janus whilst in her prime. Also, she has canonically killed Shadow Knights. Only died because Raven attacked her from behind. Arguably the Juror that got to be evil and alive for the longest amount of time (if you don't count Zane). Good for her, they hate to see a girlboss winning

3. Katelyn. Based on pure vibes alone. She's buff, she's glorious, she could kill you but she's morally complex and probably won't <3

4. Lillian. I love her don't get me wrong, I just also think she doesn't rank higher than Katelyn (Katelyn did take her out in the Irene dimension). But I say she's stronger than Ivan because he primarily relies on magicks and psychological torment to win imo

5. Jeffory. He's awesome but he got killed by Zane. ZANE. I cannot rank him higher out of good conscience. However, I will say that if magical and tactical abilities were counted on this list then he'd be higher. You died before your time rip king you will be missed

6. Ivan. Previously explained. Too magicks oriented for me to rank him higher. He's a Mage he has two hit points.

7. Unknown person.

8. Unknown person.

9. Zane. I know he's canonically strong enough to fight Garroth, but consider. No. He doesn't NEED to be strong, he has people to kill FOR him.

(Yes I count Zane he's a Juror shut up)
