The night air is cool, and the sound of wind in the trees surrounds you, like a quiet symphony. Above you, the moon shines brilliantly, half shielded by a passing cloud. You bring a hand up, outstretched, as if you were offering your hand to it….

“Mikasa, hey!” You catch up with your girlfriend, hand slipping easily into hers.

She turns to you, a small smile gracing her features, alongside a faint blush. “Hey…” her voice is soft, and her eyes hold warm affection.

“So, I was thinking, maybe tonight we can go on a little adventure, dust off the old odm gear and climb the old castle? Maybe watch the sun set?”

She looks ahead for a moment, eyes searching the horizon. It had been some time since the scouts and other regiments changed their purpose. Following that, both Mikasa and yourself had taken time to step aside from your roles as soldiers, and give yourselves a well needed break.

“Okay. That sounds nice” She says, looking back at you, squeezing your hand lightly. There's no hesitation to her words, but there's something in the way that she says it. A shift in her breath maybe, something that says Mikasa is thinking about something.

You plant yourself in front of her, bringing your free hand to the side of her face. “It’s okay if you’d rather do something else, I know what the weight of that gear means.”

She brings her own free hand to cover the one you currently hold her with, and lightly presses her forehead to yours. “No, it’s alright. Things are different now, and I know that I’d be with you.”

Your eyes fall shut for a moment, and you try to still the beating of your heart in the moment. She doesn’t know how much that meant to you. How she was still willing to go, even if it meant donning the gear that caused so much pain.

It’s quiet between the two of you for a few moments. And just when you move to pull away, Mikasa stops you. She doesn’t make any movements to do so, but it’s instead with her words, ones you almost didn’t hear.

“I love you.”

Your heart flutters, and before you even realize it, you are repeating the words back to her.

“I love you too.”

But like could you imagine him with like a sweet and friendly and soft reader!? Like it would be so cute and adorable for him to be just SOFT around them 🥺😭 but like be rlly protective of them tooo, but also the reader is like super loyal and protective of him too, and when they are together they're just surrounded by this soft love aura and everyone is like woww wish I had that lmfao

YES I DO WRITE FOR AOT AS WELL HAHA I LOVE IT SO MICJ. and yes i am!!! it’s so ,,, painful </3 LEVI IS MY FAVE ALONGSIDE EREN !!!!!! i never get requests for him tho i think ive only gotten one ask and it was a fluff 🥺 das it :( 

picturing levi with a really soft lover is just so wonderful. i think he’s very soft too but in a very subtle way. he fixes a stray piece of hair, he brushes off dirt on their clothes, he gets them their favorite ornament or food when he passes by the market, things like that. 

and it’s also one of those relationships where they don’t have to be all over each other or constantly touching for you to know that they’re together. like just seeing them stand by one another lets you know that they’re in love. it’s the way they stand, the glances they give each other, the attention he gives them when they speak, the focus and awe they face him when he speaks, the aura of protectiveness for each other. 

even though i think levi would want someone that’s capable of taking care of themselves, i doubt he’d want them in the scouts with him. like, he’s lost so many people that were more than capable of themselves, and someone as important as his lover, he can’t afford to lose. but if they are in scouts with him, he won’t mind. he’ll be very, extremely protective, sure, but it only shows when they’re in imminent danger. he feels his heart drop any time their movement is calculated or they’re caught in the middle of something, and he’ll always call out for them desperately. but he knows they’ll make it, and he trusts in their abilities. 

but back to the soft lover thing. levi with a very openly affectionate partner. greets him with a big kiss on the cheek, if not on the lips, feeds him little pieces of their food just because, calls out for him from across the field whenever they achieve something like “levi!! my love!! i did it!!” and he has to suppress the biggest smile because his heart is literally squeezing in his chest. late dinners they rest their tired head on his shoulder as they munch on their bread and levi is letting them, because he enjoys their closeness. hange comments on how adorable that is and they laugh and squeeze levi’s cheeks and go, “isn’t he?” and he obviously rolls his eyes but he’s so in love with them. 

and whenever they complete a mission, they’re always a lot calmer with their love, not as loud as usual, just sticking by him, reveling in the fact that you’re both alive. he’s always a lot touchier than usual, because he’s genuinely grateful. he clings onto their hand, not letting go for a long while, presses shaky, lingering kisses to their temple, to their knuckles, to their wrists, lays awake for long after they’ve slept as if to ensure they won’t disappear while he’s asleep.
