The bus is crowded, though that is nothing worth taking note of. It’s a regular Friday afternoon, a rush of students and workers alike rushing to get home after the long and mundane week. There are a few elementary school kids exchanging game cards at the far left corner of the bus you’ve stepped onto, an old lady with a small bag of groceries sitting idly by the window seat somewhere at the back side, a suited man glancing at his watch as he grips on the bar above his head to stabilise himself.

You’re sitting safely at the very front, right behind the driver’s cubicle with Beomgyu to your right, shielding you from the mass of people squeezing themselves in the middle row. It’s like any other bus ride, you and him side to side— hand in hand, even.

He slips his hand discreetly in yours, fingers intertwined. The reaction he gets is almost instantaneous. There is a kind of satisfaction he gets from seeing the effect he has on you even by the smallest of actions. His heart trembles as you visibly hold back a shy smile at the warmth of his hand wrapped around yours.

It’s silly, he likes to remind himself whenever he feels his lips slipping into a lovesick grin. It’s so silly, he thinks as his stomach flips just by the sight of your abashed gaze. He feels so utterly silly for being so infatuated by your eyes, your lips, your scent and voice— it’s so silly, he tries to gather himself back into a semblance of his old, uncaring self and yet every time he does, you call for his name again.

Just like that, his knees feel weak and his mind falls numb again. A dream, he likes to describe you with those two words. You are just like a dream he’ll never in his life be willing to wake up from.

Your finger hovers over the strands of hair that had fallen before his lashes, gently brushing them away while trying to avoid looking into his eyes too much. The bus is crowded and yet the noise falls deaf to his ears. The world around him is nonexistent when he’s with you, he discovers.

It terrifies him.

He’s fallen so hard— much too hard and it scares him to no end. No longer does he have a grip on reality when he’s in your quiet presence. He’s forever drunk in everything you offer him, whether you know it or not and that is enough reason to be afraid.

Choi Beomgyu, the one who not a single soul could ever picture without a blank look on his face, is in love and no one is more surprised by this fact than he is. Choi Beomgyu hears the birds sing when there aren’t even any lining his window and he sees stars twinkling in your eyes even in daylight.

He is just a simple man in love.

I totally see that happening, GOD! can you just imagine, pat going full on out, badges pinned everywhere and pran rolling his eyes yet yk he's so so fond and happy to see pat smiling

yes!!!! pat just being full of life, pulling pran along and pran is just so endeared. pran also sings for the protests, about his hope to love and marry the love he found and pat is at the forefront being his biggest fan. over a number of parades and protests, they become recognised as that pair who are what everyone wishes to be, who love each other without thought and are just so happy and contended with each other.

first timers, esp young people gravitate towards them and patpran become kind of mentors and guardians to a number of queer kids who are still scared to be open. they're just full of love and care that people tend to seek them out for comfort

jungwon hasn't slept in three days.

he hasn't gotten a single wink of sleep for over seventy full hours and it just might be the seventy-first hour that finally drives him off the ledge of a cliff that his sanity had been resting on ever since he'd been met with that one question.

gazing at the fireflies mingling amongst the foliage from his position on a hammock hanging from between two tree branches, he chuckles to himself. the shapes and letters he sees the creatures creating as they float around spell out your name (or maybe he's really lost his grip on reality and is hallucinating it all).

jungwon hasn't slept in three days (not quite, but only two hours short of).

the crickets chirp and a low, steady ticking noise joins the entropy of the night, his watch indicating that it is way past midnight and how he should have been asleep already. he wishes that he could, but the question— that question— plagues his every thought.

(do i? but why?) he knows he does, along with all of the reasons why, but his world is tilted at an angle and he needs to know if you do as well if he is to ever find peace again. jungwon knows and (off the very top of his head) can list eighteen reasons why his head spins and his body warms at the mere thought of you.

he brings a hand over his face, running his fingers over his eyes to bring them closed, a shaky sigh escaping his lips. grinning to himself, he watches the stars form constellations of your name. the breeze that gently caresses his face whispers his own in his ear, your voice echoing (a phantom touch on the back of his left hand that you'd held, a whiff of your signature eau de parfum although you are not even there).

you are not there and yet you are everywhere he looks.
