Tied to the railroad tracks for whoever you like? 👀 I've yet to see any whump where a character is tied to the train tracks!

Ooh, that’s a good one!
Puppy is trying to appreciate that she's getting some time outside. It's better than being tied up in the basement.
Except... there are no trains in the basement, and therefore no risk of getting run over by one.
Still, at least there's sunlight and fresh air. That counts for something, right? It could be worse. She could be tied to subway tracks.
Jane is reciting some villainous monologue from some movie where some damsel got tied to train tracks. Puppy hopes that the damsel in that movie gets rescued.
She hears a train whistle in the distance and a low vibrating in the tracks that gets more and more intense by the second. She can't look at the train with the way she's tied down, but she can see its shadow getting closer through the corner of her eye. Thoughts flash through her head. Oh shit, she's actually going to die. She's thought so many times that she'd rather die than be tortured by Jane one more day, so she's distantly surprised by the way her heart pounds from terror.
She squeezes her eyes shut, but she doesn't feel the train run her over. Instead, she hears shouts of confusion, and then Jane's laughter.
She opens her eyes. There is no train, but there are a lot of people, when it was just her and Jane before.

I like to think that any other immortals (especially if there are any older than her which idk it seems like it's not implausible for them to exist) would think that Jane is completely ridiculous. Like how pathetic is it that she got so bored in such a short amount of time that she had to resort to hurting people? What a fucking loser.
Like, for all her bravado, how petty and absurd is it that she's so obsessed with mortals that the only way to entertain herself is to hurt them? That's just beneath them and she's barely worth an eyeroll.

I love that!!!! I’ve written a bit about Jane and other immortals before, but thinking about it from that perspective is fun. There are probably whole societies of immortals completely separate from anything to do with mortals, so the idea of being so obsessive over them is weird. Not even necessarily from a moral perspective, it’s just like if someone revolved their life around tormenting ants. Like… why would you do that?
Tbh, Jane considers herself the only *true* immortal. Other immortals have specific things that can kill them, or have the option to sleep forever through oxygen deprivation or other methods. She thinks of herself as the only one that’s truly trapped in life with no way out

I love how different characters have different perspectives (Liam in second person, Jane in first person, Bunny and Kitty in third)
Yeah!! It wasn’t something I intended on from the beginning but just sort of fell into place as I started writing from perspectives besides Liam’s. I definitely really like Jane having first person, the lack of distance between her and the reader as if she’s telling you the story herself. And Puppy and Kitty get written in the same perspective because their perspectives on their situation are so similar!! And of course Liam getting 2nd person cause he’s the main character, the one who learns about the world at the same time the audience does (usually). Definitely a case of something I didn’t plan on that ended up working super well, in my opinion

For Jane:
How do you feel about Bunny’s newfound confidence and abilities? Are you excited to break his will even worse than before, or annoyed that he unlearned so much of what you taught him so quickly?
(Yes it’s a fucked up question, but we know Jane’s a fucked up hellspawn)
She grins. “I’m very excited to break him down again! That was the whole point of letting him escape in the first place - let him feel safe and in control for a bit before ripping it away, so he learns to respect his master, so he learns there’s no way out. And I was watching, I know how hard he had to try to unlearn what I taught him. He shouldn’t have been able to at all, obviously, but reaching that level of conditioning is only possible when they don’t have any more hope. He’s held onto the hope he can get away longer than the others, I’ll give him that! Maybe he needs to ‘escape’ again, I think another round of that would be good for him.
“I do miss my sweet Bunny… but he’ll be back. Just needs more pain. And fuck, I hate mages. It’s taking so much self control to not cut his hands off and feed them to him…”

3. Tied to a pole, for whoever you like!

Jane has been dangling this reward in front of Kitty for weeks. They begged and begged to be let outside, to feel the sun, to breathe fresh air.
"If you're good." She said. "I can let you outside for a bit if you're good."
And being her definition of good is near impossible to Kitty, but they tried so hard. They swallowed their pride and submitted to her 'training' and played her games without complaint.
In hindsight, it should've been obvious there was going to be some trick. But Kitty was exhausted and so desperate for some hope to cling to that they refused to think about it all that much.
At least tied to a pole outside they can tell how long it's been. They can tell that, even though it feels like they've been restrained like this for days and days, the sun hasn't even made its full trek across the sky.
Every exposed inch of their skin is being slowly burned by the sun they missed so much. Bugs bite them all over, taking special interest in their still healing wounds from yesterdays training.
They close their eyes and focus on breathing in the fresh air. This is a reward. This is the best it gets.

I’m going to have 1 be handling the worst and 10 be handling the best in our scale of 1-10
Kit + Shock collar - 3/10
Jane’s definitely used a shock collar on them before, and they hated it. Usually there’s at least a build-up of annoyance before Jane decides to go full torture session, but with pain just being a button press away? Any minor infraction can mean a world of pain. And no matter how hard they try, they can never seem to go more than a couple of hours without earning a shock when the shock collar is on. They’d prefer it to sensory deprivation or the long-term drugging Jane’s been putting them through, though. And they’d choose it over subjecting Bunny to any pain, though the choice would be a bit tougher with Puppy. It would depend on what would be happening to Puppy as an alternative, there are lots of things that Puppy handles better than Kitty being shock collared.
Dollie + White room torture - 6/10
She would handle it decently well. Her daydreams would keep her entertained for quite a while. She would have more trouble adjusting back to the real world after extended white room torture than trouble in the white room itself. She would choose it over quite a few methods of torture and any pain for the others
Liam + Being muzzled - 9/10
Liam actually was muzzled briefly in part 49, Meaningless! He was mostly just upset he couldn’t keep shouting over top of Jane’s monologue.
If the muzzle was tight enough to be painful, his ability to handle it would decrease over time. For the most part, though, he’s not very sensitive to methods of dehumanization or humiliation. He would find being unable to talk annoying, but assuming he’s allowed to still write and communicate in other ways it wouldn’t be that hard to deal with. He’d prefer it to most torture methods, and would choose it over the others getting hurt even though Kitty told him to always pick them

16) “I did what you said! Why’re you hurting me?!”
Amanda is finally learning her place. She's following orders and talking back a lot less. She doesn't try to pull away when I touch her, she even glares less and less by the day.
"Hi, doll." I pet her hair and she doesn't even grimace. "You've been so good lately. I think it's time I let you out of the basement."
Her eyes widen ever so slightly. "You're- you're letting me go? Master?"
That makes me laugh. "No, obviously not. Dumb pet. I'm letting you upstairs. I have a room set up for you, with a bed and everything. I think you'll like it."
She doesn't seem disappointed so much as resigned. "Thank you, master."
"You'll have responsibilities, too. It bores me, keeping this place clean. Buying groceries, stuff like that. You'll just help me keep things tidy for now."
She breathes a little shallower. Excited at the idea that she might earn my trust enough to leave, I'm sure. Planning her escape.
"Come on, now, up the stairs." I unlock her chains.
She's injured enough that she moves slowly, as much as I'm sure she wants to sprint out of the basement.
Once she's upstairs, I show her the chores she has to do, then take her to her room. She stares at the soft bed, pointedly avoiding looking out the window. As if I'd forget it was there so long as she didn't bring my attention to it.
"This is a nice reward, isn't it? Say 'thank you, master.'"
"Thank you, master." She says automatically. Oh, that took so long to get right, but look at her now. My lovely pet.
"Lie down on the bed."
She obeys with only a little hesitation. Soon she won't hesitate at all.
I take a knife from my void and grab her left foot.
"Hold still." I drive the knife into the heel of her foot and pull it upwards to the tip of her big toe. She does not stay still.
"You were just talking about how good I was being!" She cries. "I did what you said! Why're you hurting me? I'm being good, you were rewarding me, why are you hurting me?"
I grab her other foot. "Why? I don't need a reason. You belong to me. I can do whatever I want to you. Hold still this time, or you're going right back into the basement."
She screams when I cut her other foot, but manages to keep relatively still. If I was in the mood I'd take her back downstairs, but for today that'll do.
"I recommend crawling as much as possible, when you're doing your chores, and I strongly recommend you don't try to go outside, or, heaven forbid, run away. This is just a reminder, a little pain to keep you from falling prey to bad impulses."
She cries quietly on the bed. She's taken much worse pain without crying, but somehow me hurting her just now caught her by surprise. She should never be surprised by me hurting her. She should always expect pain.
"Well? You better get started. Your sheets already need to be washed, you've gotten blood on them."
"Yes, master."
In a few more months, she'll be the perfect pet.

I sure can! @whump-in-the-closet mentioned wanting to see more stuff with Ray, so I’m going to knock out two birds with one stone, but let me know if you want this prompt for one of out main trio and I’ll write that as well.😁
9) “No more. Please… just for today.”
Ray reminds themself over and over that this is for their sister’s sake. This is worth it. No matter how exhausting, how painful, how frustrating, it is worth it because their sister will survive and live a full life. They chose this. They agreed to this. This is worth it.
Orchard is not someone they would ever want to be a servant to under normal circumstances. At first, it wasn’t so bad. They’re familiar with cleaning and cooking and the other stuff Orchard has them do, and they’d found that once they’d gotten stuff down to muscle memory, it was meditative and relaxing so long as Orchard wasn’t around. They were even starting to get quick and efficient enough that they had free time to do other things, until Orchard noticed.
“We must find something else for you to work on.” She said. “Our deal didn’t include free time. You are to be my servant until the end of our agreement, and you will only be allowed breaks for essential functions of keeping you alive. It’s a waste of a deal, otherwise.”
Orchard had Ray rearrange her small library alphabetically by title. It was monotonous, but not so bad.
The next day, when Ray finished their assigned chores, she had them arrange the books by color.
The day after, Orchard had them organize the books by subject. This… is just busy work. Orchard just wants to make sure they don’t have any time to themself. Because that would be ‘a waste of a deal.’
When they finish, they start getting ready to go to bed, but Orchard interupts them. “I didn’t say you were done for the day. I changed my mind. I want the books in alphabetical order by author.”
“Yes, Orchard.”
It takes forever. Ray’s exhausted and their back hurts and their fingers ache. Still, there’s a small thrill of accomplishment when they finish and know they could finally get some sleep.
“Servant.” Orchard stops them before they even leave the library. “I liked it better when the booms were ordered alphabetically by author. Fix it.”
It’s been too long since they last ate, and they can’t stop their hands from shaking. It feels nothing like when their hands shake from happiness.
They smile wide. “No more. Please… just for today. I have to sleep, I’ll be so slow and perform poorly without sleep.”
“Are you making excuses?”
“No, Orchard. I’m asking to be allowed to sleep, so that I can be a better servant to you.”
Orchard looks them up and down, eyes cold. “Once you finish reorganizing them, I want you to check every page of every book for rips or other damage.”
Ray’s vision blurs. This is for their sister. This is worth it. They chose this. This is for their sister’s sake, no matter how exhausting, how painful, how frustrating.
“Oh, and Servant? Don’t get any of your tears on the pages, or you’ll be punished.”
