I know I mainly use this blog for posting about mortal kombat but I wanted to make a serious post. Today, November 19th at 8pm Argentina elected a far right president. Argentina has had a free uninterrupted democracy for 40 years now since the dictatorship. Javier Milei the elected president not only denies this dictatorship, the genocide and it’s victim the vice president Victoria Villarruel is acquaintances with the ex soldiers that tortured, raped, kidnapped and killed Argentinian citizens for 7 years. I urge to keep Argentina in your thoughts and prayers. Women, queer people, students and workers are at great risk of losing fundemental rights such as free healthcare, free education and access to abortion among many other things. Argentina is often a country that is forgotten by western media, don’t let your ignorance drown our voices. NI OLVIDÓ NI PERDÓN.

El Gobierno de Javier Milei anunció que modificará la ley de Educación con el objetivo de "penar el adoctrinamiento en las escuelas", lo cual es básicamente prohibir la enseñanza de la historia, ciudadanía y otras disciplinas humanísticas basadas en datos científicos porque puede contradecir su propio relato del pasado basado en mentiras.

Los artículos que se buscan eliminar son:

ARTÍCULO 11.- Los fines y objetivos de la política educativa nacional son:

a) Asegurar una educación de calidad con igualdad de oportunidades y posibilidades, sin desequilibrios regionales ni inequidades sociales.

b) Garantizar una educación integral que desarrolle todas las dimensiones de la persona y habilite tanto para el desempeño social y laboral, como para el acceso a estudios superiores.

c) Brindar una formación ciudadana comprometida con los valores éticos y democráticos de participación, libertad, solidaridad, resolución pacífica de conflictos, respeto a los derechos humanos, responsabilidad, honestidad, valoración y preservación del patrimonio natural y cultural.

d) Fortalecer la identidad nacional, basada en el respeto a la diversidad cultural y a las particularidades locales, abierta a los valores universales y a la integración regional y latinoamericana.

e) Garantizar la inclusión educativa a través de políticas universales y de estrategias pedagógicas y de asignación de recursos que otorguen prioridad a los sectores más desfavorecidos de la sociedad.

f) Asegurar condiciones de igualdad, respetando las diferencias entre las personas sin admitir discriminación de género ni de ningún otro tipo.

g) Garantizar, en el ámbito educativo, el respeto a los derechos de los/as niños/as y adolescentes establecidos en la Ley N° 26.061.

h) Garantizar a todos/as el acceso y las condiciones para la permanencia y el egreso de los diferentes niveles del sistema educativo, asegurando la gratuidad de los servicios de gestión estatal, en todos los niveles y modalidades.

i) Asegurar la participación democrática de docentes, familias y estudiantes en las instituciones educativas de todos los niveles.

j) Concebir la cultura del trabajo y del esfuerzo individual y cooperativo como principio fundamental de los procesos de enseñanza-aprendizaje.

k) Desarrollar las capacidades y ofrecer oportunidades de estudio y aprendizaje necesarias para la educación a lo largo de toda la vida.

l) Fortalecer la centralidad de la lectura y la escritura, como condiciones básicas para la educación a lo largo de toda la vida, la construcción de una ciudadanía responsable y la libre circulación del conocimiento.

m) Desarrollar las competencias necesarias para el manejo de los nuevos lenguajes producidos por las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación.

n) Brindar a las personas con discapacidades, temporales o permanentes, una propuesta pedagógica que les permita el máximo desarrollo de sus posibilidades, la integración y el pleno ejercicio de sus derechos.

ñ) Asegurar a los pueblos indígenas el respeto a su lengua y a su identidad cultural, promoviendo la valoración de la multiculturalidad en la formación de todos/as los/as educandos/as.

o) Comprometer a los medios masivos de comunicación a asumir mayores grados de responsabilidad ética y social por los contenidos y valores que transmiten.

p) Brindar conocimientos y promover valores que fortalezcan la formación integral de una sexualidad responsable.

q) Promover valores y actitudes que fortalezcan las capacidades de las personas para prevenir las adicciones y el uso indebido de drogas.

r) Brindar una formación corporal, motriz y deportiva que favorezca el desarrollo armónico de todos/as los/as educandos/as y su inserción activa en la sociedad.

s) Promover el aprendizaje de saberes científicos fundamentales para comprender y participar reflexivamente en la sociedad contemporánea.

t) Brindar una formación que estimule la creatividad, el gusto y la comprensión de las distintas manifestaciones del arte y la cultura.

u) Coordinar las políticas de educación, ciencia y tecnología con las de cultura, salud, trabajo, desarrollo social, deportes y comunicaciones, para atender integralmente las necesidades de la población, aprovechando al máximo los recursos estatales, sociales y comunitarios.

v) Promover en todos los niveles educativos y modalidades la comprensión del concepto de eliminación de todas las formas de discriminación.

ARTÍCULO 126.- Los/as alumnos/as tienen derecho a:

a) Una educación integral e igualitaria en términos de calidad y cantidad, que contribuya al desarrollo de su personalidad, posibilite la adquisición de conocimientos, habilidades y sentido de responsabilidad y solidaridad sociales y que garantice igualdad de oportunidades.

b) Ser respetados/as en su libertad de conciencia, en el marco de la convivencia democrática.

c) Concurrir a la escuela hasta completar la educación obligatoria.

d) Ser protegidos/as contra toda agresión física, psicológica o moral.

e) Ser evaluados/as en su desempeño y logros, conforme a criterios rigurosa y científicamente fundados, en todos los niveles, modalidades y orientaciones del sistema, e informados/as al respecto.

f) Recibir el apoyo económico, social, cultural y pedagógico necesario para garantizar la igualdad de oportunidades y posibilidades que le permitan completar la educación obligatoria.

g) Recibir orientación vocacional, académica y profesional-ocupacional que posibilite su inserción en el mundo laboral y la prosecución de otros estudios.

h) Integrar centros, asociaciones y clubes de estudiantes u otras organizaciones comunitarias para participar en el funcionamiento de las instituciones educativas, con responsabilidades progresivamente mayores, a medida que avancen en los niveles del sistema.

i) Participar en la toma de decisiones sobre la formulación de proyectos y en la elección de espacios curriculares complementarios que propendan a desarrollar mayores grados de responsabilidad y autonomía en su proceso de aprendizaje.

j) Desarrollar sus aprendizajes en edificios que respondan a normas de seguridad y salubridad, con instalaciones y equipamiento que aseguren la calidad del servicio educativo.

Básicamente el gobierno quiere eliminar los pilares de una educación entendida desde el derecho de las/os/es estudiantes, basada en saberes científicos, con una orientación integral, desde una perspectiva democrática y de respeto a sus identidades y subjetividades. Para ello comienza amenazando con perseguir políticamente a las/os/es docente que sostenemos con compromiso el derecho a la educación en un contexto de desidia y desfinanciamiento.

La persecución que se asoma en el horizonte ya la vivimos en este país durante la dictadura, sin importar las amenazas, seguiremos defendiendo la escuela pública. A la dictadura no volvemos Nunca Más!

Poverty levels skyrocketed to 57.4% of Argentina’s 46 million people in January, the highest rate in 20 years, according to a study by the Catholic University of Argentina. The findings quickly unleashed accusations between Argentina’s former Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and the government of President Javier Milei, who came to power announcing a series of shock measures aimed at tackling the country’s severe crisis. About 27 million people in Argentina are poor and 15% of those are mired in “destitution,” meaning they cannot adequately cover their food needs, according to the study released over the weekend. The UCA’s social debt observatory is considered an independent and prestigious research space whose reports on poverty cover a larger geographical area than those conducted by Argentina’s national statistics agency, INDEC. It also applies a methodology that addresses the problem with a more multidimensional approach and its findings are seldom questioned by politicians and economists. According to the center’s latest report, the increase in poverty levels in January was partly due to the devaluation of the Argentine peso applied by the Milei government shortly after taking office on Dec. 10. This resulted in an increase in the price of the country’s basic basket — which includes food, services and non-food goods — and the basic food basket. Working- or middle-class households that do not receive benefits through social programs experienced the greatest impact, the study concluded. Eduardo Donza, a researcher with the social debt observatory, told The Associated Press that although inflation could slow in the coming weeks, the incidence of rising prices will continue to impact Argentinians and poverty would hit at least 60% of the population around March.

Shocking fucking nobody, Argentina's "Libertarian" president Javier Milei has now made protesting illegal. The military will break labor strikes, create databases of anyone who protests, and sanction parents of children who protest.

Also unsurprisingly, his economic policies have somehow made inflation and economic instability/chaos in Argentina literally twice as bad (400:1 to 820:1 to the USD).

Pricecs have skyrockets more than 100%, monthly inflation is set to be 30-40% with the new policies, and he's shutting down what social safety net Argentina had.

Don't worry though. He's "redrawing the ideas of freedom." Like reimagining a country where you're not allowed to protest or strike.

There is no such thing as a fucking Libertarian. I don't know how many national and international figures have to show their whole ass before people understand that. They're lying about how far-right they are.

In case anyone's wondering what my country's political situation is, our president just raised his salary by 45%, right after lowering everyone else's. Lied about it when people found out and tried to say that it was actually part of an article signed by the ex president, only for people to show him proof that it had been in fact him who signed the article. Also the vice president is a flat earther.

Hi there. I never really do this kind of thing here but I need you to stop for a second and read what's about to happen in my country Argentina because this will also affect many of you.

This man in the picture is Javier Milei, a libertarian political candidate running for the presidential elections taking place this october

Argentina is not anywhere close to being a powerful country and much less an influential one. In fact we've been slowly becoming a U.S colony during the last couple of years which has really impoverished us. However, even if this man's victory won't affect the world's economy I'm sure it'll affect at least more than one of you as individuals.

In case you didn't know, Argentina is one of the very few countries that offers free and public access to both healthcare and education to both residents and non-residents. And that also includes universities.

This country is home to a very large percentage of foreigners that come every year in hopes of getting access to free education because they can't afford to pay for it back in their homelands.

Evey year hundreds of foreign students get degrees in a field of their interest here that allows them to find a job anywhere in the world, including our own country. To be honest many people hate this because, well, racism and xenophobia. But personally, it makes me very proud and hopeful that my country can guarantee this human right to so many people FROM ALL AROUND THE GLOBE.

Sadly, this very man Javier Milei has openly stated that he wants to abolish free access to education for everyone (among many other human rights violations) if he wins this year's elections.

I'm very sad because of yesterday's first round of elections results in which he came out first place. I'm scared that he might win the last round and become our president. And more than anything I don't want my country to loose so many of the things and rights our people fought so hard to obtain.

PLEASE LET THE ENTIRE WORLD KNOW THE FACE OF THIS MAN AND WHY HE SHOULD BE DESPISED BY THE ENTIRE WORLD.

The cruelty of Milei’s government:

Milei is firing thousands of workers of the different offices of the State and, if is not cruel enough to leave thousands of families without financial security in the middle of a terrible economic crisis and even more thousands without the assistance and control that those offices provided, he fires people in the most vile ways. Email late at night saying that they don’t need to go to work the next day for example and  the most horrible of all, making people attend to their workplace and wait in a line until they check if they are still hired and can go in or are fired and have to leave. All under the sight of the police. Milei’s supporters are celebrating on twitter, they have the horrible fantasy that the pain of others will make their lives better, but they are wrong, we are all sinking together, it’s just that they are the only ones to blame. They are evil, they are cowards, they are miserables and stupids.
