quentin + eliot from the magicians! they are my everything; they invented love and when i think about them i want to scream and cry and throw up. don't have any other details, if you know you know if you don't get well soon

julia and kady and penny from the magicians! the arrangement doesn't matter! i also have a fun au where both pennys are alive at once and in the same polycule, and initially it's super weird but they get over it. julia and kady have everything, they were forced together but stayed together on purpose, their history is so tumultuous but they care so much about each-other. kady and penny's romance feels rushed but when they decided they were doing it they were great and i was totally on board (+ rewatches have made a lot of the rushed-ness make sense in character

fen and margo from......... the magicians! this show was sooo committed to making fen an accessory character to margeliot (i refer to margo and eliot together this way because it feels wrong to separate them) that they crushed her character into a little box and still, Somehow, she and margo have like Allll of the chemistry, it's ridiculous. i think about the scene where margo tells fen that if eliot dies she'll take care of her every day. i languish under the knowledge that fen's destiny being textually intertwined with margo's was never romantic to the writers the way it was romantic to me. the king's wife and the queen who also happens to be the king's best friend slash qp??? it's sooooooo good.

💓 - What are some signs they’ve fallen for someone? How do they show their affection?

so when it comes to tols, he is what the cool kids call Socially Inept™️ so he isn’t very good at being direct when it comes to some he’s into. it takes him a while to work up the nerve to try showing affection but once he does, it’s kinda slow fuckin going. toli tends to progress through stages when he’s falling for someone though he doesn’t necessarily notice it himself; he starts off with very small signs of affection and it usually begins with him choosing to just be in slightly closer physical proximity with the person and also spending more time with them. then he’ll gradually progress towards making an effort in speaking more instead of just listening; he asks questions about topics of conversation, tries to get people to talk to him more so he can learn more about them, will actively try to find stuff out about a person’s interests on his own so he can understand and respond when they talk about it (e.g. when toby has a new obsession, toli will google stuff and watch videos so he can learn about it even if he thinks it’s dumb af or he just knows toby will get bored of it next week).

when it comes to showing affection with people he’s already with, toli isn’t huge on initiating random displays of ‘soft’ affection though he’s okay with someone else initiating them (but he’ll go out of his way to hold toby’s hand if they’re out somewhere). toli can be a touchy physically affectionate boy but he prefers to show it more in sexual ways than just platonic ones; he’s always showing toby how much he loves him by pulling him in for a kiss, grabbing his ass, groping his tits, shoving his hand down toby’s panties or up his skirt, spanking him, kissing his neck, pulling up his dress or lifting up his top. softer displays of affection tend to be something that toli keeps for moments when no one else is around

jude

gosh, jude can be a total fuckin sap when it comes to falling in love! he gets all those classic symptoms like he won’t be able to stop staring at lev, his heart beats like crazy, he can never stop smiling at him & he never bothers to hide them at all. jude is also a total charmer and sweet talker who loves to flirt and make people blush so he’ll be telling lev how god damn ravishable he looks, telling him all the places he wants to take him and things he wants to show him, he tells lev exactly what body parts or features he’s particularly admirin today and what exactly about them that’s sparking him. he’s also an absolute sucker for physical affection & pda, whether it’s being given it or showing it to others! jude’ll shower lev with stupid little kisses all over, he hovers and leans and presses against him and the others he loves, likes to sit close so he’s touching a part of them or if he’s sitting with lev, he’ll put him in his lap. jude is also very free and open with sexual forms of affection so he’ll also grope and touch and kiss and grip and molest, his hands wander a lot and jude doesn’t always have it under control but where toli will tend to be more rough/blunt/dominant with that type of thing, jude is more subtle and sneaky, will have his hands under lev’s clothes before he even realises it’s happening. oh and he also has a lil bit of a habit of buying random gifts when he has the cash for it — usually smaller things related to the person, unless it’s a birthday or something then he knows he won’t get in trouble for buying more expensive stuff

kadi

okay so kadi can be a bit of a mixed bag — he loves to cuddle platonically and romantically so will very happily do both to show affection with his people but he also has some self esteem issue that make him lack confidence when it comes to being more forward about showing he likes someone. kadi will try to ask people out on dates but will often end up chickening out halfway through & won’t manage to actually convey that he wants it to be a date. when it comes to the signs he’s fallen for someone, kadi can be even more fucking obvious than jude in some ways! back when kadi realised he was falling for toby, he would get stuck in the dopey doe-eyed dazes just looking at him existing but then he’d start to notice he was staring and immediately panic, go red, look away far too quickly and draw attention to himself. he’d also get hella tongue tied around toby (especially depending on what he’s wearing) to the point where his english will sound more on par with toli. but once he admitted to toby and found that toby liked him back, kadi became so much more open with his affection for him and would be a lot more confident with kissing him or asking to be kissed; unlike his brother, kadi has no issue with physical affection or pda and will shower toby with love & affection every day cos he knows toby soaks it all up. whereas when it comes to toli, cos kadi knows he isn’t so big on cuddles and kisses, he shows his twin affection differently which is usually in the form of play fighting, slinging insults, sharing food and less intimate touches like shoulder bumps and hip checks (usually a little too far on the rough side). also, while kadi is also v open and likes affection shown in sexual ways, he’s less likely the one to initiate it and more the type who responds to it if it happens. oh! and kads is also one of those people who will sleep anywhere and regularly does; one of his biggest ways of showing affection is sleeping with or taking naps with people. he rotates between his siblings rooms a lot and spends more time sleeping in with them than in his own bed unless he has toby or someone else in it with him
