Listen all im saying is someday yoohankim and kimco will grow old and die of normal causes and i just think it would be neat if kim dokja was the last to die so he can understand how the rest of them felt every single time he did it i just think it would be really cool and fun if he had to bear the weight of everything he put them through and realise how much it hurt wouldn't that be lovely

Kim Dokja uses sign language to communicate. He wasn’t deaf or mute it’s just a response to his trauma back when he was a child. Kim Dokja would go completely mute whenever he is overwhelmed so he tries to communicate with kimco through sign language and through writing.
It took them a long time sans Sangsoo ( bc they learned it for Kim Dokja!! they want to hold a proper conversation with him whenever he feels too much!!) but eventually got there. Kim Dokja would melt every time they tried to talk to him.
It was one of those days when Kim Dokja should feel too much that he decided to stop his sentence mid-way and start hands-signing. Yoo Joonghyuk for the most part took him too long to understand but when he finally did he immediately grabbed Kim Dokja’s wrist and walked away.
He sat Kim Dokja down on the chair, gave him water, and slowly signed to him how he was doing great and that he is proud that Kim Dokja should just take it slowly and that he is here. It’s very ooc of Yoo Joonghyuk but he did it because he loves Kim Dokja and doesn’t want him to feel invalidated and closed off not after the pain he went through.
Because Yoo Joonghyuk is already here, he decided to protect Kim Dokja with all his might!

i’m coming across those horrible Bad Ends AU for bad at math where Heo Suji dies way before the storyline starts, and one single horrible AU occurred to me… This is how it goes
1) Yoo Joonghyuk and Yoo Sangah never knew Kim Dokja ever had friends, they only know he was a loner aff.
2) They time travel. They try to do whatever they’re set out to do while trying to befriend Kim Dokja. Bad at math initial chapters happen.
3) Heo Suji dies or goes missing.
4) A decade passes. ORV starts. Things seem to be going exactly the same, aren’t they? And Heo Suji? Yoo Joonghyuk and Yoo Sangah have already killed too many people to put too much importance on someone who was a danger to Kim Dokja.
Depending on if they stay in the timeline or are forced to go back after they do what they’re set to do, things can be slightly different. HOWEVER IMAGINE IF Kim Dokja “doesn’t have any friends” (quote Yoo Joonghyuk) is because they killed his only friend.
And none of them connects this dots until they do and the horrible realization because how do you fix that?
Even worse. Imagine if this were a closed time loop? Heo Suji always existed in ORV, but he’s dead or missing, and that’s why Kim Dokja’s life is monotone and depressing and obsessed with TSWA.
He doesn’t necesssarily die because of YJH or YSA, however that makes it worse doesn’t it? Because it means that he’s destined to die no matter what—— run over by a car, a fire, murder, hit and run, illness, supernatural hijinks… Either way, his character was fated to be that dead best friend that Kim Dokja so very resolutely NEVER mentions to anyone.
BUT THEN THIS BIRTHED ANOTHER HORRIBLE THOUGHT:
What if one of the things Yoo Joonghyuk and Yoo Sangah were meant to do in this “scenario” to ensure success was save Heo Suji? Is this Heo Suji real or fake? Who knows. But to the person (KDJ) who had done his utmost best to make a happy ending to everyone, wouldn’t it have been fair to try and give him a happy ending in this scenario, even if it ended up being fake? Why shouldn’t they at least try to make this ending a happy dream instead of the repeat of a nightmare?
Then they fail. Spectacularly.
And here’s the kick: In the future, Kim Dokja and his companions made it possible for this time travel to happen. (do you get what i’m implying???? that Kim Dokja in this timeline was indirectly responsible for— /BONK/)
And this just because one of the closed time loops of so, so, sooo many deaths of Heo Suji.
Heo Suji was always destined to die.
Sometimes, the endings of certain characters are just set in stone.
OOGH SO JUICY
Tumblr media
THE GUILT THAT WOULD WEIGH ON THEM THO, IF THEY PIECED THAT TOGETHER AND REALISED IT WAS A SELF FULFILLING PROPHECY!!!! god i LOVE these bad end suji AUs they make me so giddy!!

'There are three ways to survive in a ruined world.' This is the first line of orv and the title of the novel Han Sooyoung wrote for Kim Dokja. But what exactly did she mean by that?
It's simple. The three ways are reading, writing, and regressing. These are the three methods we use cope with our lives, to survive each day.
Yoo Jonghyuk survived the hellish scenarios by regressing and remaining stuck in the terrifying past. With this method, he discovered various items and techniques that helped him improve each regression turn. However, despite the fact that each regression provided him with valuable information and wisdom, he slowly lost his soul and humanity. Regression represents how we replay our bad memories over and over, reliving the terror of the never-ending past. With this, we learn from our mistakes but never take a step forward. And that's why kimco chose to regress. They couldn't let go of the Kim Dokja they knew and loved, therefore they abandoned the peaceful lives they could've enjoyed with 49. Thus, in the end, they failed.
Meanwhile, Kim Dokja survived by reading. To escape the world in which he was regularly abused, he read twsa every day as a form of escapism. Reading teleported him to another world-a snowfield where he could confortably lay. This was his safe haven far away from the pain of his reality. And undeniably, so many people do the same. We use escapism to distract ourselves from trauma and pain. We deny the existence of these experiences and try to forget that they ever happened. But choosing to look away from the present doesn't solve anything. We convince ourselves that we're alright and everything's just fine, reading an entirely different and 'fake' story rather than facing the truth laid out in front of us.
On the other hand, Han Sooyoung was different from those two. She was a writer who crafted her own stories on paper. Piece by piece, she gathered letters from her bare soul to create two novels-twsa and orv. She did this with a clear goal in mind, to save a reader. And we are the fragments of that reader. But Han Sooyoung wasn't the one who truly gave us salvation through writing...it was ourselves. Due to orv's open ending, the story left Han Sooyoung's fingertips and entered the hands of all its readers. Because neither regression nor reading could save Kim Dokja, this was Han Sooyoung's final resort. She let us imagine and write an ending where Kim Dokja could live happily.
Han Sooyoung wrote orv not just so we could survive our own apocalypse, but so that we could allow ourselves to be happy. Because she realized that reading and regressing are just ways to survive, not to live.
What will you do? Will you regress and stay stuck in the past? Will you read and try to forget the bad memories? Or will you write your own story, taking a step forward one sentence at a time?
There's no way to know, but one thing is for certain....
You who are reading this now will survive.

Ok so I haven't read the side story except for the spoilers I get on Tumblr.
But the whole side story situation reminds me of [999].
[999] group going through EVERYTHING to meet their YJK, after going through the conclusion their YJK wished for them. And seeing how a certain reader idolizes this particular regression turn, it seems to me that KDJ's just avoiding them so that their story continues somehow even if they're not happy.
If the side stories really do continue this parallel, KimCo will end up with 'a' Kim Dokja, but not exactly the Kim Dokja from ORV.
Something about all this is just so painful to me man, I just can't... ORV side stories give me anxiety.

Kim Dokja made necklaces for the people he cares and he infused a bit of his soul so it could give them protection and a bit of luck. The first necklace that Kim Dokja gave was his mother, Lee Sookyoung, back then he didn’t know he could give a bit of himself in exchange for giving protection and luck to the one he loves.
When he learned about it he was so excited and given half of his soul so his mother could be happy despite the given circumstances they had.
It was the first mistake that he did. He should’ve under no circumstances given half of himself because it hurts. It hurts when he realized that half of him that he so gave to his mother was nothing but rubble to her.
What reason were the necklaces he created when all it ever does bring him pain and confusion when he lost his mother over it?
He asked her why,
‘Why didn’t you wear it? It could’ve helped you even if you had left me here. Why?’
But all he ever got was silence.
He should’ve never given it to her. No, he had lost half of what he is just because he had loved the mother he thought he had.
The next person he gave a necklace was his co-worker, the person he thought he could never be friends. Yoo Sangah, she was strong-willed and he thought,
after all this bull crap maybe… just maybe he could give it to her because she may be able to use it too?
And in this world where disaster comes after disaster, he could not protect her  from here onwards so giving her a bit of him would give her just a bit of luck and protection.
He was happy when he saw a tiny necklace on her neck, this way he could protect her too,
Then as this wrecked world continues to move on he continues to give a bit of himself to his found friends, old pals he never thought he met, to the children he never thought he’d give a damn about. He had given a bit of himself to Lee Hyunsung, Lee Gilyoung, Shin Yoosoung, Jung Heewon, Lee Seolhwa, and Han Sooyoung to every people he thought he’d never cared about.
Then to Yoo Joonghyuk, to Yoo Joonghyuk he was never sure if he would even use it, Kim Dokja thought that Yoo Joonghyuk is such a strong character maybe
He doesn’t need him or his necklace or Whatever this is…
But he did, when Kim Dokja trapped Yoo Joonghyuk in a corner he asked him if he would accept the necklace he made for him no other context added.
And he did, surprisingly?
That’s enough, that’s more than enough he thought.
This way he can give Yoo Joonghyuk a sense of grounding whenever his thoughts get him. This way he can save Yoo Joonghyuk even without him in body, and maybe… just maybe he would remember him, stupid squid, the rat, Kim Dokja.
It’s more than enough.
It took everyone a long time to realize that the necklaces that Kim Dokja gave to them were a part of his soul, Lee Sookyoung was the one who told them as he held the same necklace but brighter in her hand,
It gave them a sense of calmness, security, and something that makes them remember that Kim Dokja is here.
They were happy because that squid finally accepted them as someone close to his heart. But in a quick second, all they felt was terrified, lost, and scared.
If Kim Dokja had given a soul to keep them safe, what left is there for himself?
What purpose is the necklace when Kim Dokja would disappear just because he wanted them to be safe? They wanted to trap this rat and shake him vigorously, ask him why but deep down they knew this is what Kim Dokja is.
Yoo Joonghyuk left them after Lee Sookyoung told them about the necklaces and how special it is.
Yoo Joonghyuk went to find Kim Dokja and when he did he hugged Kim Dokja so tight.
This is his bastard squid, the ever-kind and powerful man who would sacrifice himself just to let them have their happy ending. This is Kim Dokja, Yoo Joonghyuk’s Life and Death Companion.
This is Kim Dokja, the person he vows to give all his bits and parts to him and only Kim Dokja just to keep him safe. Like how Kim Dokja kept him safe all these lifetimes. This is Kim Dokja.

that tiktok trend where it's two characters saying,
"maybe in another universe–"
"why not this one?"
is affecting me more than it should when that bastard kim dokja is saying that first line and every freaking member of kimco just desperately asking him wHY NOT THIS ONE?
